Chapter 13.5 : The Princes of Hell

Ever since we were kids mother thought of us as troublesome. Who could blame her we were always fighting with each other, or with the neighboring kids.

If there was trouble, we usually were at the heart of it, despite our flaws she loved each of us equally as if we were her own flesh and blood.

As we grew older, we matured, and Mother finally taught us how to fight and how to take care of ourselves. We loved every minute of it, spending time as a family was always my favorite thing to do, until she disappeared.

Grandpa came to visit us one day. Him and mother talked all day, although we could not understand what they were saying, we could see mother become more and more upset as time went on.

“Mother what’s wrong?” I knew it was unwise to interrupt adults while they were talking, but seeing mother shed a tear worried me.

“Not now, Lucifer, Grandpa and I are busy right now. Go play with your brothers outside.”

Not knowing how to react, we did as we were told, and went outside to play.

Thinking back on it if I knew that was going to be the last time we saw mother, I never would have left the house.

Our Brother, Lucifer was always an excitable fireball, I guess being the oldest out of us brothers does that to you.

The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

All of that changed the day mom left with grandpa, he turned irritable and angry, constantly lashing out at us if we even mentioned grandpa.

We all felt the same way about mom leaving, but Lucifer took it especially hard.Mammon, Belphegor, and I held a service of sorts to honor mother’s legacy. It was beautiful and bittersweet, but it helped us move on. After all that’s what mom was preparing us for.

Some time passed and while I was taking care of a flower mother used to tend to someone called for me.

“Leviathan.” I turned around to see who called my name. It was Satan.

“Yes?” I replied.

“Lucifer, Asmodeus, Beelzebub, and I are going to go look for mother, you want to join us? I asked the others and they agreed, now it’s just you.

I agreed to go, not because I wanted to find mother, but to help my brother’s find their peace.

We spent years wandering through the streets of our world looking for her, I knew in my heart that she was never going to be here, but I didn’t have the heart to break it to my brothers.

I looked at my hands as I washed them down the flowing creek, they’re stained with tonight’s meal, but dirty hands are better than an empty stomach.

“Thanks for catching this for us, Belphegor.” Although Lucifer changed drastically, his mood got better when we started this journey.

“No problem.”

We spent the night in a nearby cave. Everybody was sound asleep when we all heard a loud explosion. We immediately got up and rushed outside.

What we saw froze us in our tracks, grandpa was in a confrontation with a man that we later found out was named Malik.

Their fight destroyed the surrounding area leaving the towns and villages in ruins, we rushed to the villages and tried to help the people but we were too late.

Grandpa’s fire turned everything it turned to ash. What’s worse is the fire never went out, and it still burns hot to this day.
