Chapter 13: Death follows the Dragon

The group reached the gates of Hell thanks to Laura’s teleportation.

In front of the gate waited Abel. “Took you guy’s long enough.”

“You were waiting for us, instead of saving father?” Laura asked

“Luna told me you were coming, so I had to wait to make sure you guys didn’t do anything reckless.”

“We’re here to save Alastor, so let’s stop wasting time.” Lilith was eager to rescue Alastor at all costs.

“There’s no turning back once we’re inside.”

“We understand, but we’re still going.”

Abel let out a sigh. “Alright.”

With his scythe in hand Abel cut an opening in the door. “Hurry through, before the gates start healing.”

The group rushed through the gate expecting the worst but nothing could prepare them for the reality that is Hell.

Lilith let out a gasp when she saw the fiery landscape, the smell of charred flesh caused Leon and Benjamin to throw up, and the sight of the dead bodies caused Lillia to freeze up.

A loud explosion broke their focus.

“What was that?” Lilith asked as the ground started shaking.

“Father.” Laura replied

Everyone looked at where the explosion came from, and what they saw chilled them to the bone.

Alastor was in an all out fight with Malik and the Seven Princes.

The force of their blows was powerful enough to be felt over great distances, and none of the damned dare interfere with this violent clash of power.

“We have to help.” Lilith exclaimed

“Not yet. If we interfere right now, all we would do is get in Alastor’s way. We have to distract Malik to draw him away. The Seven Princes is Alastor’s burden.”

“Why?” Lilith questioned.

“Because they’re his grandkids.”

Laura and Lilith had the same reaction. “WHAT!”

Laura was the one to speak first, “Rose and I don’t have any kids, so whose kids are those?”

Lilith stood quiet at the revelation of Alastor having multiple kids, knowing there were more concerning matters in front of them.

“I can’t tell you that, Laura. I’m sorry.”

A series of explosions broke their silence, the fight was ramping up and getting more violent as time went on.

“Let’s go,” stated Abel.

The group maneuvered around the countless bodies and giant hills in order to get to their desired vantage point. A giant plateau that was created during Alastor’s fight.

Seeing Alastor’s immense strength up close shocked the group, they realized the fight between Alastor and Abel wasn’t even a fraction of their power.

“Stay here, I’ll draw him out.”

The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

Abel disappeared in the blink of an eye.

Alastor was trading blows with Malik and Lucifer while the other princes tried but failed to launch attacks at him.

“You idiots. Only physical attacks work on him.” Spat Malik.

“That’s only because I let them.” said Alastor.

Enraged, Lucifer released a barrage of attacks which were all blocked.

“You idiot.” Malik saw his opening and swung his blade.

Alastor let out a smile. “You’re the idiot.”

Abel stopped the attack in it’s place. “You’re mine.”

Abel gripped Malik by the neck and dragged him over to the plateau.

“What just happened.”Lucifer shouted.

Evidently, none of the princes could comprehend what had happened. “Did you really think my friends wouldn’t come?”

Lucifer blinded by rage said, “Once I’m done with you, I’ll kill them next.”

“Lucifer, Asmodeus, Leviathan, Satan, Belphegor, Mammon, Beelzebub, Why are you doing this? I understand Malik, but you guys? Kimber raised you better than this; she taught you to fight so you can protect yourselves and others who couldn’t protect themselves.”

“You took all that away from us. You took our mother from us, and our people. Look around, there is no one left to protect, other than these damn sinners!” shouted Lucifer

Leviathan added onto Lucifer’s words. “That’s right. You think you know us, but you never even came to visit or even talk with us. You let us suffer with the damned once mother left.”

Belphegor continued, “What’s worse is the second time we saw you, you were killing whatever people were left in this world. You destroyed our cities, and our history.”

“The reason I did those things was because Hell forced a war upon the mortals, and if you’re saying there is no one left in hell to protect, then you clearly forgot about the people outside the circles.”

“Shut up!” Lucifer wasn’t paying attention to what Alastor was saying and continued his assault.

Over at the plateau, Malik stood before the group with an intimidating aura.

“You ready to die?” asked Abel.

“What makes you think that I’m the one dying?”

“Because, I’m going to kill you for messing with Lillia’s mind.”

“What do you mean?” asked Lillia

“Like I said, looking into the future was impossible since time flows like a new river, it only goes forward with nothing in front of it. Malik was using magic to plant those ‘visions’ in order to scare you into feeling hopeless, enough to where you fall into endless despair.”

Malik let out a chilling laugh. “You were always smart.”

Abel appeared behind Malik and kicked him towards Lillia. Lillia who was enraged at the revelation summoned a gauntlet and hit Malik with her full force, breaking his jaw.

Before Malik could recuperate Leon bound him with roots, and Benjamin wound up his hammer and swung with full force.

Malik got up and looked at the group, he could easily sense their killing intent. “This should be fun.”

Malik dropped the black armor he was wearing, and rushed the group. He appeared behind Lilith, and swung his blade.

The attack was too fast for Lilith to dodge in time; before the blade could land, Abel stopped it in it’s tracks.

Laura followed up by encasing Malik in ice, seeing an opportunity Abel landed a barrage of attacks.

Malik fell to the floor in pain and covered in blood. Though his body screamed for him to stop he refused and got up once more.

“Malik, this is the only chance I’ll give you. Give up, and never show your face again.”

“I would rather die, than run.”

“Why are you doing this? You’re fighting for nothing.”

Lilith’s words struck a nerve. “Nothing? You don’t even know what your boyfriend took from me. I know he told everyone that I tried fighting the mortals in order to win his daughters affection, but in reality it’s because he killed the woman I loved. You all think Alastor is some good man that fights for what’s right, but all he really is, is a ruthless killer. If you ever get the chance ask him what happened to your kind, girl, or ask him why hell is on fire.”

“That’s not true! Father would never do something like that.” Laura shouted.

“Then why isn’t Abel defending Alastor.”

Everyone turned to Abel who held a blank expression.

“Abel, that isn’t true. Right?” asked Lilith

Abel ignored Lilith.

“He’s quiet, because death follows wherever Alastor goes. You claim the souls that are left in his wake.”

Abel began walking towards Malik with an expressionless glare, everyone could feel the increasing pressure of his power with every step.

“You’re just proving me-.” Before Malik could finish his sentence, Abel killed him.

In a cold tone Abel said, “You can finally be with your wife.”

Everyone especially Lillia felt terror in that moment, and began doubting if the people they admired were really on their side.

Before Lillia could say anything to Abel, he disappeared.

Alastor was starting to struggle against the princes, although he had the strength to hold them at bay, he didn’t have the heart to end them.

Lucifer wound up an attack but was cut off by Abel, who landed one of his own.

The prince fell to the ground with a loud crash. The prince got to his knee when he noticed Abel in front of him.

“You won’t be lucky this time.” Abel tapped the eye on his scythe, which caused it to blink.

“Is it finally time?” the eye asked

“Yup”

Lucifer’s cut began to necrose, which prevented it from healing.

For the first time in his life Lucifer understood what it was like to feel fear. “What are you?”
