5pm. Max got out of bed. He wasn't completely fine, but his body had recovered enough that he could finally not only just leave his bed but also get out of the house.
He got up, picked up his back up skate board and made for the front door. Max always kept one just in case he broke his own.
Typical to him, he always waited just till he was almost out the door to say he was almost out.
Max: I'm heading out!
Julianne did not answer. It wasn't so much that she didn't hear him, but rather that, not only would she rather not say anything, but she was also completely unsurprised by his behaviour.
He was always like that. Reckless, just like his father. Besides, he was out of danger.
Max waited a moment, expecting her to voice some concern at least this time. He then slowly closed the door and went off to skate.
This particular trip wasn't because he was just looking to chill, but rather also because he was completely confused about what had just happened.
Why on earth was his mother so seemingly unbothered by what had happened?
He needed time to think. And what better way to think than by skating. After all, it was where he could think best. On the pavement, dodging random pesestrians and obstacles.
Skating was second nature to him. It was like a talent. The one sport he was, without powers, genuinely good at.
As he skated, he ruminated on it.
What had happened to his friends that day? What was wrong with his mom?
Did his friends say something bad to her? She called them interesting, after all. What could that all mean?
He changed streets and continued to skate before he heard a familiar voice.
Voice: Max!
It was Rose, and she was waving to him from a window on a higher floor of a particularly larger house. Larger than most other houses.
Rose: Hey!
Max: Rose?
The distance between the two wasn't that great, and she'd just noticed him while cleaning the window.

Rose: Hi Max. I'm so glad you're doing better!
She stretched her body out of the window to make sure she was clearly visible.
Rose: Your mom said you'd be ok. I'm so glad she was right.
Rose suddenly lost her balance and started to topple before she fell out the window.
Rose: Woah.
Max: Rose!
Max rushed towards her on his skateboard, this time without his super speed, and he caught her just in the nick of time, much to Rose's surprise.
Rose: Ehehe.. you caught me. Thanks, Ma...
Max: Hey, what's wrong with you. You should be more careful.
Rose: Oh. Sorry. I was just really excited to see you well again.
Max set her down on the ground.
Max: Are you ok?
Rose: Yeah. Thanks, Max.
Max: Ok then.
Rose immediately noticed Maxs troubled face.
Rose: Is something wrong, Max?
How could Max tell her about all of his worries?
Max: It's nothing. I'm fine.
Twice that day had a friend of hers hid feelings from her, and so she was understandably a bit upset.
Rose: Oh. Ummm... well...
Max: Hmm?
Rose: Oh, it's nothing.
Max: Ok.
Max skate boarded to the front of the house.
Max: But... how are you gonna get back in?
He suddenly remembered her powers.
Max: Oh yeah, you could just float or something.
Rose: Huh?
Max: Your powers?
Rose: Oh. Well... I can't actually fly.
Max: Whaa.... but can't you float on some rocks or something.
Rose: Oh yeah, I could do that. But I don't need to.
Max: Huh?
Rose prancily walked up to her front door and spoke.
Rose: Door open.
A mechanised voice came out of her front door before it opened.
Door: Good evening, Rose.
Max: Huh?
She walked inside before calling Max to come in.
Rose: Wanna come in?
Max: Uhhh... Sorry, Rose. I gotta go.
Rose: Oh, come on. Just for a little bit. Please.
Max: (sighs) Fine.
Max walked into a very fancy looking house. The floor was beautifully carpeted, the walls beautifully painted, and there was a massive chandelier above them. The door closed behind him automatically.
Max: Woah. Your place is amazing.
Rose: Thank you.
Max: Your mom and dad must be loaded.
Rose: Well.... I guess so.
Max: Really.
Rose turned to him.
Rose: Mom and dad always told me that their jobs should always be a super secret.
Max: A super secret?
Rose: Uh huh. OOOOhhh. Come on, I wanna show you something.
She walked up to the stairway, and Max followed her.
Rose: Y'know, your mom told us you and her were aliens.
Max: She did?
Rose: Yeah. She was super nice, too.
Max: She was?
Rose: Yeah. She made us this amazing breakfast with bacon, and it was soooooo yummy.
Max: She did?
Max suddenly thought, "Was there nothing to worry about?"
Rose: Oh, and guess what?
Max: What?
Rose: I'm an alien, too!
Max: Huh?
