Max looked down below and was shocked at what he saw.
It was like a cave, but there were purple crystals all over the place. Some jutting out of the ground, others as stalactites and such.
The purple crystals emanated some kind of energy that made Max feel odd.
There was something odd about them. That was all he could say.
What's more, there were several men in knight's armour. This armour also had some crystals jutting out of them, and they were carrying crystal weapons such as spears and swords and pointing them at his friends.
But what really knocked his socks off was his friends. The people he'd met in high school that day. They looked like they were about to fight them.
Tiffany drew her sword and pointed it towards them as they themselves pointed their weapons towards them.
Silence remained for a second as they stared each other down.
Tiffany: Ready?
Luke: Yeah.
Ken: Hmph.
Rose: Hmph.
Tiffany: Charge!
They rushed the crystal knights as one of the knights commanded the rest to attack.
The two groups at each other, with Tiffany in the lead from the start.
Tiffany rushed right through the enemy with her blade at a tremendous speed.
She used her blade to parry their blades and spears as she ran right through them, from time to time delivering kicks that sent these grown men flying, much to Max's surprise.

The soldiers attacked her, but to no avail, she was far too fast for them.
She used her blade to strike them as well. And since they were armoured, they did not receive injuries.
Right behind her was Luke, who picked up all the stragglers and rammed right into them at full force.
He sent them flying into walls even harder than Tiffany. Some of the warriors made attempts at cutting him but to no avail. The blades would not penetrate him. He could simply keep going irregardless, shoving several of them to the side and tossing them like rag dolls.
Ken was up next.
His eyes started glowing red again, but this time, a red beam flew from them, rapid fire style, sending even more stragglers flying.
Some of the knights got close to him and tried to strike him, and he effortlessly dodged and shot at them each down without breaking a sweat or so much as a hustle, again surprising Max.
Rose was up last. Giant rocks appeared to float from behind her, and she sent them rushing to her knights. They flattened the knights, and she just kept more coming.
That surprised Max the most. He never would have imagined that she could actually hit someone.
Max: (whispers) No way. They... they're just like... They're just like me...
He couldn't help but feel a shred of happiness as he stared at the four of them. The four of them, all of them. They were special just like him.
But he chose to stay out of it and to simply watch.
Eventually, they were all done and dealt with. Tiffany landed one final punch to a knight that was trying to get up.
Tiffany: Everyone, alright?
Rose: Yeah.
Ken: This was easy.
Luke: Yep. Phew.
Tiffany: Ok then. Onwards.
They all nodded their heads.
The four of them followed Tiffany into the cave.
Max waited till he could no longer hear their footsteps to follow after them.
He jumped down and looked at the spectacle.
The knights were all out cold, and the pathway before him was pretty clear. As to what in the world was going on, he had no idea. For one thing, the crystals shone with a purple glow that unsettled him.
He took his time looking around for answers. A single knight tried to wake up much to Max's astonishment, but he fell unconscious again.
To get to the bottom of this, Max decided he would have to keep watching them.
He steered clear of the knights and the weird crystals. "Just what in the world were they?" he thought.
He was tempted to touch one and almost did but then decided against it.
Max walked down the path, absolutely unaware of what he could expect from this place.
Further ahead, Tiffany and the others were having a conversation.
Tiffany: Rose, how much further?
Rose: About.... about a few hundred metres.
Tiffany: Alright.
The team had taken to stealth while back up headed in the direction from whence they came, hiding behind carts and machines.
