Julianne Hunter walked to the kitchen and made yet another cup of coffee before sitting down on the couch and relaxedly took a sip from said cup.
They all remained silent, and their bites of food became more hesitant.
It was several moments before she started.
Julianne: I talked to your principal.
They all raised their heads to her.
She relaxedly took another sip.
Julianne: You're all excused from school for now, so don't worry about it.
They all exchanged glances with each other.
Luke: Errrr.... thanks.
Julianne: Don't mention it.
Ken: Wait, what about...
Julianne: I also talked to your parents. I got their phone number from the principal.
Ken: B... but...
Julianne: There's no need to worry, Ken. I told them you just so happened to have been invited to a party by the famous Julianne Hunter and that you ended up staying the night.
Ken: I... I see.
Julianne: So you knew I was famous before?
Ken: Huh. Well... I....
Julianne giggled, much to all of their shock.
Julianne: It's alright. It's alright. I was only teasing. Besides, it's a little odd to see someone of your age so interested in movies of that time.
Ken: No, it's just...
Ken was visibly embarrassed.
Julianne: Or is there another reason as to why you know that I was once an actress?
Ken: Well, I...
He held his tongue. "Should he or should he not tell her about her about his powers?" he thought.
Unauthorized reproduction: this story has been taken without approval. Report sightings.
Julianne: Hmm. It's no big deal. No pressure.
Ken exhaled in relief.
Julianne: So, how was your night? Did you all sleep well?
They all exchanged uneasy glances.
"Why was she being so nice to them?" they thought?
Luke: I... It was fine, ma'am.
Julianne: I see. And what about your breakfast?
Luke: It was delicious, thank you.
Julianne: Well, I'm happy to hear that.
She smiled and continued to relaxedly sip her coffee while they all uneasily waited on her.
Julianne: Oh, don't let me stop you from eating. Please, go on.
They looked at each other and then began to eat the food but at a more relaxed pace.
Julianne: Well... I would have preferred that you all ate at the table, but...
They all paused.
Julianne: Oh, it's fine. There's nothing to worry about. I'll just clean it up later.
They looked at each other uneasily.
Julianne: Go on. It's no trouble.
They all slowly continued to eat from their plates.
And there they remained. Eating silently while she sipped her coffee.
Julianne: Why don't you all tell me something about yourselves?
They flinched again.
Julianne: Oh, come now. Don't be shy.
She said it with a smile on her face. None of them could believe what they were seeing.
They all looked at each other again.
Julianne: Oh, come on. I won't bite.
Luke sighed and decided to start.
Luke: Uhhh... sure. I'm Luke, and I uhhhh... work at Timo's pizzeria.
Julianne: Oh, really. At your age. You must be quite responsible.
Luke: Uuuhhhh, thanks...
Julianne: And what about you?
She looked at Rose, causing her to flinch.
Rose: I.... well.... I....
Julianne: Come on now.
Rose: I... I really like... puppies.
Julianne: Oh, me too. They're so cute with their beady eyes and their goofy personalities, aren't they?
Rose: Y... yeah...
Julianne: And how about you, Ken?
Ken: I like video games.
Julianne: Really, what kind.
Ken: The kind where you shoot stuff.
Julianne: Oh. You know, my son just can't get enough of this one game. What's it called? Warring Dimensia 2?
Ken: Y... yes. We talked about that at school.
Julianne: Oh, and I suppose he challenged you.
Ken: Well....
Julianne giggled to herself.
Julianne: Oh, my son. He's always been like that. Challenging people with that nerve of his. I suppose some of that comes from his father.
She sighed as she reminisced while the others watched her.
Rose: I... I'm sorry for...
Julianne: It's quite alright. Why don't we move on to you, Tiffany?
Tiffany looked at her with a combination of fear, guilt, and failure. Out of the four of them, she was the most bothered.
Tiffany: I... I...
She desperately searched her mind for something that was both true and not too revealing.
Tiffany: I play Mahjong every once in a while. I like it. It relaxes me.
Julianne: OOOOOOhhhhhh. So exotic. You know, once while I was in China, I played Mahjong with a couple that just so happened to be working there. They were so nice and very, very good at the game. I'm sure you would have loved to meet them.
Tiffany: Oh... yeah. Maybe....
