The broken dungeon core
Renovations to solve the itch. And broken things.

Renovations to solve the itch. And broken things.

It wasn’t until early in the morning that the itch to expand hit again and I got started with my next group to move to their improved living quarters.

I chose the Felis family for the move since their living arrangements were next to the Coon’s old location since I might as well go in order.

Much like the Coon’s new living quarters I have their new place use the same branch off from the medicinal garden room except they will be on the right side of the tunnel so going to the left is the Coon’s place and the right side is the Felis’s place.

I give the parents a much larger room as I make their raised bed double the size of single person beds and I give them a small table next to the bed as well as a shelf for storage and I place their clothing chest at the end of the bed, a nook in the wall over the small side table is where I put some of the glow moss from their previous living area.

I prepare Tammy and her brother Tim’s rooms much like I did with Luna’s family members with the normal single beds, but after thinking about it I decided to slightly increase the bed size to have a little extra room for everyone who is considered an adult, just in case.

I also added a small washroom and a toilet to the forked path for the two families to share rather then having to go all the way upstairs just to use the facilities.

I plan to do the same for the others later but for now I think I will remodel their old living space once they finish moving their belongings as I let Luna know and had her help me inform them properly.

I was happy to see that it made a good impression as people know that Tina is not registered as an inhabitant, so it doesn’t look like I’m being overly biased about who’s situation I improve being based on who’s registered as my inhabitants.

Rather, I should show that I am simply trying to be efficient and going in order as I relocate people from the first floor to the second floor, leaving the only person that I clearly favor is Luna!

I have some time before I continue my work on converting the old rooms and I listen to some of the conversations and other things going on in my dungeon.

The children are in the greenhouse trying to climb the trees that are now about three men tall and the biggest branches being about as thick as Dave’s arms.

The Hunter and Greg are talking about which areas they plan on hunting today and whose checking which traps on their way back.

Dave and Samson seem to be planning on crafting something out of wood with each other’s help.

The ladies in the kitchen talk about who likes what food and how they prefer things cooked or who dislikes what food as children seem to be picky eaters who sometimes need to be tricked into eating properly.

Luna is helping the Felis’s family move their belongings to their new living quarters and she is taking extra care to assist Tammy during the process.

I moved Tammy’s vine garden into her new room as they are a nice addition for decorating the room as well as being a great resource for Tammy to keep up with her weaving.

Jasper, also decided to assist in the moving process and he attempted to get close to Tammy as he completed on how nicely her newly woven hat accommodates her lovely black and grey ears.

He seemed to do well as he even made her blush and giggle at all the flattery he presented her with as he helped carry luggage and supplies from one place to the other until the task was completed.

And Harvey left with some goods to trade while he went to inform the Barkley’s about their decision to accept the proposal and to ensure that the would have a proper place to stay before they relocate.

Everything was going well and I had just gotten started on changing the old living space.

Having Tammy’s old room merged into the space for the animals while separating it from the rest with a thick wall of stone.

I then closed their old entrance and had their neighbors receive an expansion which gave the three children their own sleeping spaces where the Felis’s living space had been.

Then I removed the children’s old sleeping room that they had been sharing and had the space given to the next in line, even though they would be leaving.

The additional space was divided between giving the parents a little more room and splitting the children’s room into two slightly smaller rooms but overall still giving them more space total.

Around the time I was about to modify the Woofer’s living space, an accident occurred in the greenhouse room.

Rocky and Brussel had been climbing on the same tree and while Rocky had been standing on a branch, Brussel had been pulling himself up onto the same branch when the additional weight was too much and the branch broke off.

Both of the boys took a tumble hitting other branches on their way down to the ground, resulting in them having cuts and scrapes as well as Rocky with a broken wrist that swelled up right away.

Everyone was wound up in a tizzy as they made sure everyone was okay and that only the two boys had been hurt before they were treated with salveaid to speed up the recovery process on all the cuts and scrapes.

Rocky had to have his wrist splinted with a wooden splint and wrapped in leather hide to bind it in place for however long it might take to heal.

Luna prepared a canteen full of salveaid water to speed up the healing process as much as possible and she made sure that he’d drink it all down each day until he gets better regardless of how much he complained about it being too bitter.

Now as for the broken branch from the apple tree they were climbing, it still hadn’t been long enough for it to start growing fruit but it could be used as firewood, which there was already plenty of so I decided to just absorb it for now.

Low and behold I had just got a chunk of biomass from that branch and I realized that I must have been dumb for not realizing it sooner.

Plants are biomass and where as they cost a particular amount to plant they seem to be worth more once they are grown than they originally cost.

Add in the fact that the plants will regrow the damaged or harvested portions can’t I just use some purely as a source of biomass!?!

I decided to plant a tree that grows fast and can handle having large amounts harvested for biomass.

I go through my dungeon databases plant selection and I look for a tree that would be quite forgiving of me harvesting its wood frequently while also being in a reasonable price range for me to grow it.

I find the crape myrtle, which not only grows fast but it can do well getting cut back 25% yearly, but as a dungeon variety its not only going to grow several times faster but with the year around growing and fertilizer enhanced it should be able to be harvested even more frequently!

I also increased the sunflower, potatoes, radish and pumpkin crops which all grow fast but they will also produce food and some additional biomass.

The sunflower manly only has its seeds harvested to be eaten so the rest of the plant can become biomass, while radishes and potatoes often have parts cut off as scraps which is more biomass for me.

The pumpkins outer husk is usually disposed of after it’s seeds and flesh are scraped out to be cooked and eaten, again leaving me more biomass once they are done getting the food from it!

I planted extra produce of various types more for the biomass left over but also for the speed of production, I will make it so they can’t keep up and as mundane plants in didn’t have to pay quite as much as I used to.

I feel excited as if this really goes as planned I will have enough to purchase the breeder after the harvest of biomass from the greenhouse, granted I will be harvesting anything that I can including the vines that I had been reserving for Tammy to weave.

only the plants that act as light sources or mana grass will be allowed to be divided without becoming biomass!

I watched the biomass reserves slowly increase as it shouldn’t take long now I could even absorb entire plants to use as biomass if I don’t mind replanting them afterwards.

As for my mana reserves they should reach the required amount after a few days since I have been able to do a layer of mana crystallization daily since my inhabitants have been generously giving me mana every day.

I feel like I won’t have to worry about leveling up anymore now that I am so close to my goal of getting my breeder as well as dungeon monsters as the rest of the animals can’t be to far behind in becoming dungeon monsters like the dungeon mouse.

I feel like today was a very good day despite Rocky getting injured when he fell.

Maybe I should look into new plants that can assist with the healing process for his wrist?
