I went through my dungeon plant database and found a plant that could speed up Rocky’s recovery from his broken wrist, so I planted two comfrey plants in the greenhouse just to speed up their growth so he can use it sooner.
He should appreciate it after all the more knowledgeable mothers advice to help him heal faster was to change his diet to be focused on increasing leafy green vegetables, sweet potatoes, and beans which he wasn’t too happy about.
I also got some new notifications!
[Congratulations, your chipmunk has mutated into a dungeon monster! Dungeon chipmunks favor woodland environments and have a higher chance to gain the nature attribute when they are raised in the appropriate surroundings.]
[Warning! Dungeon monsters will instinctively protect the dungeon from non-inhabitants, as a dungeon relying on outside inhabitants you will need to create safety measures to prevent conflict from occurring within your dungeon.]
[Congratulations, one of your squirrels have mutated into a dungeon monster! Dungeon squirrels favor woodland environments and have a higher chance of gaining the nature attribute when they are raised in the appropriate environment]
[Warning, dungeon monsters do not get along with those who are not dungeon inhabitants! Remember to make safety measures to prevent conflict!]
[Congratulations, your muskrat has mutated into a dungeon monster! Dungeon muskrats prefer wetland like environments as they are simi-aquatic creatures. Dungeon muskrats have a higher chance of gaining the water attribute if they are raised in the appropriate environment]
[Warning, reminder that dungeon monsters are not fond of those who are not Inhabitants of the dungeon, you will need to make safety measures to prevent conflict in your dungeon!]
I excitedly sent the notifications to Luna so she would also be aware of the new monsters as I go take a look at their changes.
The dungeon chipmunk also developed blue eyes like the dungeon mouse had, and it seems like it has improved claws and its cheeks look fluffier.
The dungeon squirrel has the the same shade of blue eyes as well, and its gotten sharper claws along with a fluffier tail that may have also gotten a little bit longer.
Lastly the dungeon muskrat again with the same blue color eyes as all the others…. There’s definitely something up with that, could it possibly be a sign that they are dungeon monsters?
regardless it’s gotten sharper claws and it’s fur seems to have gotten more water resistant and it’s webbing between its toes seems to be more expansive while its tail has gotten slightly thicker and longer.
I think I should probably relocate the dungeon monsters to the preferred environments but I don’t want them to possibly harm anyone.
Maybe I should prioritize making a room for them where they won’t be around those who aren’t inhabitants?
Then again I don’t want to end up neglecting the residents more than I seem to already do subconsciously so maybe I should just try to continue moving them to the better room locations.
I’m not really going to expand again until I get the itch for it again as it seems like as long as I do, I can avoid the painful punishment of having my dungeon damaged as well as trying to extend the time before I level up again at least a little bit anyways.
Luna and many residents are happy to hear about the new dungeon monsters, and some have suggested that they might be good to have in the greenhouse room and the medicinal garden.
Only the suggestion was shot down because the children have been playing in those rooms lately and the children aside from Rocky and Misty are not inhabitants.
Which prompted the children to request becoming inhabitants so that they could play with the animals and the problem would be resolved easily!
Children are the best, I don’t know why the parents had to become so much more complicated as only the mothers seem to protest against it.
Teri is definitely the most vocal about not letting the children register while Daisy only has a few concerns and mentions that she has been thinking about registering herself soon before she decides on if it’s better to have her children register as well.
Tina is halfhearted about the children waiting to register as it seems Tammy must have recently told her that she has already registered as a dungeon inhabitant and that she has taken up the dungeon weaver position.
After hearing that Daisy was planning on registering herself Tina decided that she might as well join then as well.
Teri wasn’t happy about the lack of support from her fellow women but she bites her tongue as she will be leaving soon and it will no longer be of her or her family’s concern.
A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
It wasn’t much longer afterwards that Teri’s husband returned with more dairy products and news for his wife.
Harvey returned in the evening, with his backpack filled with jars of milk, cheese and butter that he got for the baskets and the produce in trade.
Once the goods were settled he gave his report.
Harvey, “There isn’t really any room for our family to move in right now and most everyone is using shared housing even having the young children of multiple families sharing a room to cut down on needed space.
That is aside from the families that primarily helped build the camp in the first place and those who have special jobs like the blacksmith, herbalists or alchemists.
The Barkley’s and the Diggers are willing to put us up with them since they plan on making us family, but they want to solve the problem of overcrowding so they want this camp to take in some others in return.”
He looks over at Luna who has apparently been designated as my interpreter.
Luna, “Are you okay with receiving some new residents?”
She asks me and I happily respond with a yes lump of clay that’s larger than the usual size to give emphasis that I really do want more residents, especially if some of them become inhabitants!
Luna, “Yes the dungeon is okay with new residents and even seems happy to have them.”
Harvey, “Okay then, I hope things go well with them when they get here.”
Luna, “We can probably leave the hunter’s place as is when we relocate them to their new living quarters, so that the new people can make use of it when they come.
I think as everyone who lives in the new location we will see how it goes with moving the dungeon monsters over there to the two largest rooms.”
I can definitely do that so my clay response is raised under her foot and she nods with certainty as she smiles.
They take a little while to determine what produce and baskets should be taken as trade next, as between Tammy and Misty plenty of baskets were being made for them to be used as a trade resource.
Misty has been actively perusing her trainee skills and has been trailing behind Tammy at a good pace even though she still spends most of her time with the other children.
They have also been working on woven vine sleeping mats/door covers to trade to the other camps since they don’t have the luxury of having soft clay under their bedding and they are probably also short on furnishings they plan on making clothing chest later as well.
Daisy and Tina started taking about what possible positions they might try to take advantage of once they become registered as dungeon inhabitants they both think they would do well as dungeon cooks but they are hoping to unlock a seamstress position to help them get benefits from mending and making clothes from the furs that have started accumulating.
Jasper has fully taken up the task of harvesting the produce from the greenhouse room and changed his position to dungeon farmer so he stays indoors and focuses on that task which he was better at than hunting.
Coaley on the other hand has been trying out the jobs she qualifies for, cook which can give a slight flavor and fullness boost when prepared in a designated dungeon kitchen.
Gardener has a slight quality improvement over the plants they tend and a chance to increase the farmer’s chances of producing new variants or increased crop yields.
So pairing a farmer with a gardener position inhabitants will complement their abilities towards getting even better returns from the greenhouse and garden.
Coaley also tried the weaving position with Tammy but she apparently didn’t enjoy it as much as Tammy and Misty does.
She has been contemplating the possibility of swapping between two positions depending upon the task she will be working on at the time.
Luna is busy assisting with the transition from one position to another as well as helping out wherever she is needed, be it cooking, harvesting, hunting or tending to the animals.
Luna is also working on turning some of the furs from her and her father’s kills into winter clothing, particularly for the winter dance as they have leeway than most.
Since they were able to get all their clothes and other small items that could fit in the backpacks, unlike those who waited until the last minute to get out in just a few trips.
Coaley is probably the one that is the worst off in the dungeon because of having only done one trip and having nothing but a couple cotton sheets and her own clothes.
She has had to borrow others cookware and she has been dependent upon the others being willing to share meat from their hunts and her access to the produce that everyone is sharing.
I think she may be getting pressured into accepting the advances of the guys because of her poor position even though she seems quite upset about being their obvious second choice as they clearly continue trying to appeal to Tammy first and only resorting to Coaley when Tammy is occupied.
Tammy seems to be fine with their advances while she’s out around others but she seems to be having breakdowns when she manages to get away and have some time to herself.
I have tried helping her calm herself down as I have gotten to providing her some chamomile frequently for her to be able to make herself some calming chamomile tea in the private kitchen I made for her and Luna.
I have even given her a secret passageway from her room to the private kitchen, which I have it hidden behind her bookshelf which I can open and close for her whenever she needs me to.
I have even gone to the extent of planting more calming plants in the private kitchen room from some of the seeds that came from the original plants I planted in the beginning.
I really hope that Tammy will be alright but sometimes she seems like she is getting better and at other times she seems like she might be getting worse.
I don’t have any idea what I should do and I don’t seem to ever be able to get Luna to her during her breakdowns in time, as whenever she arrives Tammy goes back to acting like everything is fine and she just needed a break to calm down.
Why won’t she just tell someone that she’s still not okay?
I’m confused why she seems to be pretending that she alright when she probably really isn’t…
I wish I could tell someone but nobody seems to be able to understand what I’m trying to tell them!
It’s just so frustrating that I feel like I’m helpless as what I can do feels too limited and I’m getting more worried every time she breaks down and then hides it from everyone else.
Had those calming plants not already gone to seed I would have had to invest in planting more just to help keep enough in stock.
I have managed to get pretty good at adding wood to the fireplace in the meantime as well as adding water to the kettle that Tammy uses for her tea, with how frequently she has been coming here to calm her breakdowns down.
I wonder what else I could try to do to help her more but I don’t know what might work…
