B4. Chapter 2.2- Sides

Gra

A burnt city scape of collapsed buildings and ash covered streets. That is all that is left after we have taken this place. The only life here now is us and the flying scavengers that feast on the burnt and frozen carrion of thousands of monsters and my own kind. Corpses littering the streets like so much trash with snow and ash coving their broken bodies and filling open mouths locked in a final scream. Dull and empty eyes look out at nothing as they stare unblinking.

Looking down from on high, I can see as our own feast on the dead. Roving through the streets as they eat alongside the scavengers, not a thought in their empty minds except for the meat that is sliding down their throats as they devour beast and relative alike.

With my legs hanging out the side of the exposed building’s interior, I continue to watch the cannibalistic feast down below with my head leaning against a nearby pillar. It isn’t until the feast turns into an orgy that I turn to look away, not wanting to watch the little ones in their blood fueled debaucheries.

Looking away and pulling one leg back inside, I lay back fully against the pillar and retrieve my book from my pack, opening it to continue reading from where I left off. Following a story about a little man leaving home on a journey.

I try to ignore the sounds of the tens-of-thousands of my kin that have taken up residence here as they cheer, feast, and celebrate victory and conquest. Many of the remaining tall buildings becoming the temporary nests of so many as they take shelter from the cold. Already, I can hear the crying screams of newborns carried on the wind, their conceptions most likely having happened after one of our most recent slaughters, only to be born following another.

I spare a glance down below again and see the raging orgies that are spilling out into the streets, copulating couples and even violent gangbangs doing the deed right next to or even on top of the corpses of their own as they fill their mouths with fistfuls of meat.

Are numbers are going to be growing again…

I look away again, trying to ignore it all as I turn the page, trying to lose myself in another world.

It is as I am reading by the light of the setting sun that an intruder would arrive to interrupt my privacy; my peace and quiet disrupted by a cheerful voice calling out searchingly.

I let out a sigh as her voice draws nearer and it becomes quickly apparent that I won’t be able to avoid interacting with her.

“Big sister Gra! I know that you are in here! Big brother told me you were in this tower. Where are yo- Ah! There you are! I looked all over for you; we are so high up!”

I can feel her enter the room before she actually does, her developing Aura giving away her ability to wield the elements as it brushes up against my own. For a moment, out of mild irritation, I consider smothering her aura with mine. It would be easy. But I eventually decide to just let it be and mix with mine for now.

She excitedly enters the room and gives me a bright smile like a blooming flower. Short for those of us that Father has turned into demons, she doesn’t stand much taller than the little ones and barely reaches my chest when we are both standing.

Light green skin with yellow and black splotches, face covered in a spray of freckles, a head of messy, short, dark-green hair, a single crooked horn on her left side, and a very soft looking body that makes me want to squeeze her for some weird reason. She is practically the opposite of our siblings; where we are tall and full of muscle, she is short and soft.

But, despite her appearance that already sets her apart from the rest of our brothers and sisters, she has one particularity about her that really makes her stand out. At least to me.

She smells like flowers…

And it is for this reason that she is, despite only just having been changed, the only sibling that I don’t particularly dislike being around, yet... She smells nice…

Logically, it is most like a result of her element. She had the luck of becoming like myself and our more powerful siblings, and most importantly, Father. She can use magic to bend the will of the elements to her wishes.

However, that is as far as her luck goes. Unlike Father and my brother who wields fire, or myself that can use ice and cold, she can apparently influence plants…

After her change into a demon during yesterday’s ceremony, Father had tasked me with helping her learn to use her gift. It didn’t take long to figure out that it has to do with nature when she ended up growing a bunch of flowers on the side of the building that we were using as a target.

Father wasn’t pleased, to put it simply.

So, unlike my siblings and myself, she hasn’t been placed in charge of any of our forces and I am now stuck with her following me around, as Father hasn’t decided what to do with her yet. Normally, those without the gift would just become officers, leading pockets of our forces under our command, but they at the very least have strong bodies that places them above the little ones. And she is small and soft…

She comes running into the room, dressed in nothing but vines and flowers; I can feel her magic sustaining them as if they are almost growing out from her body. On her head is a crown of flowers that is woven into her messy hair; mixes of reds and yellows and blues that have no business growing in the middle of winter. As she gets closer, the smell of fresh flowers follows behind her, the difference between her scent being so jarringly different from all the others that it becomes physically impossible to ignore.

As she gets closer, I notice that she is going to try and grab me, so I raise a hand and point a finger at her, my magic gathering in an obvious threat at the tip of my finger as an ice blue light.

“Ah, sorry big sister! No touching, I almost forgot again… Sorry…”

“Mhm. What did you want, little sister?”

“Ah, yeah! I’ve been thinking lots and lots, just like you told me too, and I final decided on my name!”

I turn the page and then look up at her with a glance. “Oh yeah? What did you decide on?”

She gives me a big smile showing off her sharp crooked teeth and exclaims proudly, “Vivviv!”

“Viv-viv?”

“No, you gotta say it fast so your lips vibrate! Vivviv!”

“Vivviv… Ok then.” I tell her as I return to my book.

”Ehh!? That’s it? You don’t think my name is cool or anything? I put a lot of thought into it…”

“Because you like the vibrating when you say it…”

“Yes! So, what do you think? Is it a good name?”

“It’s a name…”

“Mmrrrrr~”

“Haaah… Sist- Vivviv, what do you want me to say? It’s not like I am the best of judges for names. I named myself Gra because I couldn’t think of anything else and that was the only thing I could come up with.”

Vivviv stops and thinks for a bit as she sits down on the ground a short distance away, a bed of soft moss growing under her on the hard concrete to cushion her round butt as she plops down with a little grunt. “Mmmm… Well. Do you like my name?”

I just let out a breath and close my book before setting it beside me. Looking at her, I return the question. “Do you like your name?”

“Ah, that’s what I asked you thou-“

“Answer the question, sister.”

“… Yes. I like my name.” As she tilts her head at me curiously.

“Good. Then I like your name too.”

Vivviv lights up with a smile and a blush, and watching her, I can swear that the flowers that are growing all over her body on the vines become even more vibrant with her happiness. She tries to lunge forward to grab me again, but I ward her away with another pointed finger, promising a blast of ice-cold air if she tries.

She sheepishly backs up and returns to her moss cushion under my guarded gaze.

Once I am certain that she isn’t going to try and touch me again, I pick up my book to resume reading. Thankfully, she remains silent. Probably realizing that I don’t feel like talking right now. So, instead, she is keeping herself busy by playing with her vines and flowers a short distance away.

Eventually though, Vivviv gets restless and has to ask a question, probably growing bored from just sitting around and doing nothing. She tends to fidget a lot. “Whach-ya doing?”

This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it.

“Reading…”

“Reading? What’s that?”

“It is… Mh?”

Vivviv and I both turn as a feeling hits us.

“Father is calling again, haaah… Come on Vivviv, let’s not keep him waiting.”

Putting away my book, I stand up and look to Vivviv who is still sitting on her moss. She is looking down apprehensively, her fists shaking as she holds them against her legs.

Walking past her, she still doesn’t get up, so I let out a breath and then return to her. “Come on, get up. We can’t keep father waiting, he might get mad at us.”

“Mmm, ok…”

She slowly gets up to her feet and follows behind me as I lead her out of my building and towards Father’s chosen residence. A couple of times, she hesitantly reaches out to try and touch me or grab my clothes, but stops as I glance towards her.

Along the way, I have to kick aside a couple of the little ones as they try to pull us into their orgies. One that tried to go for Vivviv, I froze solid as she let out a cry from it trying to grab her, probably mistaking her as a fellow little one. The others quickly learned that we are not interested and scattered while screaming.

“You have power now. Use it.”

“… Yes, big sister Gra…”

----------------------------------------

“- and take your forces further ahead to scout ahead. The gods have spoken to me, and informed me that we are nearing the Grey Demon. Soon, it will be only a matter of time until I can finally get my revenge.”

“Yes Father. I shall do as you say and take-“

Walking into Father’s chosen resting area, high up in the highest tower, I find my brother Gov’es kneeling before Father as he receives his orders. Despite the cold outside, with Father's presence alone, this room feels toasty warm.

Gov’es stops as Vivviv and I walk into the room, acknowledging us with a look before returning his attention to Father. Bowing to him, he says, “Your will be done.”

Father nods towards him from where he sits on a bed of furs, one of my many sisters lays against him as she runs her hands over his body, I can taste the power of earth radiating of from her like sand and dirt on your tongue and stuck between your toes.

“You can go now my son.”

“Yes Father.” Gov’es says with another bow before standing to leave. He sends a side glance towards us as he leaves, but doesn’t say anything.

Moving forward, I bow to Father before taking a knee. Vivviv is short to follow behind me as she hastily copies my actions, kneeling beside me but remaining just slightly behind me as well.

“Father, Vivviv and I have arrived and await your orders.”

“Good… Vivviv, is it?”

I peek back and notice her shake a bit as he addresses her. She eventually works up a squeak and responds. “Ye, yes… Yes Father. I have named myself, Vivviv…”

“Hm, I see.”

He turns away from her as she looks down at the floor, returning his gaze back to me. I return his gaze and look him in the eyes as he sits above us. I notice that my sister up there has started to pleasure him, her head bobbing up and down on his lap, though it doesn’t seem to be distract him any.

Sitting back some as he pets her back, he addresses me. “I have already issued orders to the rest of your siblings and sent them on their way. Now for yours. I have come to the decision that we shall remain here for the Winter. The gods have spoken to me, and informed me that the Grey Demon is near. We will prepare our forces, and once the Winter ends, we shall go on the attack.”

“Yes Father.”

“Yes Father…”

“Mhm. My task for you my daughter, is to bolster our defenses using your gift. You are to build a wall to the south and station your forces there. Two of your siblings will be joining you, you will be taking your orders from Safta.”

“Yes Father.” I say with a bow.

Father remains silent for a while, the only sound being the slurping noises coming from my sister's mouth. I try to ignore this as best I can, keeping my eyes anywhere but on her, but it is rather distracting…

He eventually speaks after letting out a grunt, my sister letting out a choke before giggling as she rubs herself against him happily like one of his pets.

“Vivviv…”

“Ehh! Yes, yes Father?”

“Have you made any improvements yet?”

“Uhm…” She swallows nervously. “I can grow these vines now. They are very useful for-“

“Show me.” He interrupts.

Vivviv lets out a squeak, and then complies. “Yes, Father.”

Moving her hands, Vivviv directs the multitude of vines that hang from her body like a dress, making them move about as if they are a number of new limbs attached to her.

Father watches silently for a short while before raising a hand, silently ordering her to stop.

Vivviv stops directing her vines and they drop back down her body to cover her.

Father pets my sister’s head on his lap as he thinks for a moment, before eventually shaking his head. “I don’t see this gift of yours being very beneficial on the battlefield. I was holding out hope, but I am afraid that I cannot give you a force of your own to lead.”

“I… I… Yes Father. I am sorry that I couldn’t be of more use…” She says dejectedly.

“Instead, you would be better served as a mother like some of your other sisters. Tell me, do you perhaps favor any of your brothers?”

“Ehh? Uh, no. No I don’t…”

“Hm, very well then. I will just make you mine then. You will be better served here making more young demons, than dying on the field. Come.”

“Ehh…”

Looking behind Father, I see the other sisters in the room. Most of them are heavy with child or even in the midst of pleasuring themselves or each other as they lounge around the room on soft furs and eat meat that was brought to them from outside as they laze about. They don’t even pay attention to us as they enjoy their own little world behind Father’s power and protection.

Looking over my shoulder, Vivviv is shaking as she looks to him. I can see that she is clearly afraid and my memories naturally go back to yesterday when Father had openly dismissed her as being a failure of a demon. An ‘Unfortunate waste of his gift.’

“Ye, yes Father…”

Vivviv slowly raises to her feet and starts to shakenly walk forward. Before she can get passed me, I find myself reaching up and grabbing her by the shoulder, stopping her from walking forward. She stops, confused and shocked as she turns to look back at me, but my eyes are only on Father.

I am plenty confused by my own actions, but seeing as I have already acted, I have to keep moving.

“Father, if I may? I have decided to claim my little sister here for myself and make her mine. I have taken a liking to her.”

“Hmm? But then she will be truly useless. At least here, she can serve a purpose. And daughter, I know you are smarter than most of your siblings, but surely you know that two females can’t make any young together.”

“Yes Father. But even if we can’t have young together, she can still keep me company at night.” I say as I direct my gaze to some of my sisters in the back that are currently tangled up around each other, giggling as they rub their bodies against one another in a sweaty mess.

Father turns to acknowledge them as well before looking back to me.

I continue, “And the nights are long and cold, while my sister here is soft and warm. I want her for myself.”

Father watches me for a long while as Vivviv shakes under my hand, my grip tightening on her shoulder as I keep her from moving. Narrowing his eyes, Father pushes his Aura towards me, pushing down on me with the promise of melting heat and all-cleansing flame. Vivviv squeaks under the force of it, but I endure and push back with my own. Promising chilling winds and eternal ice.

The pressure of his Aura lightens slightly as I push back against it, but if I wasn’t already on my knees, I would have surely been pushed down. The only reason that Vivviv is still standing despite shaking like a leaf in the wind, is that she isn’t the target of his direct attention.

He eventually lets up, coming to some understanding of his own as he smiles towards me. His Aura receding back to him as he lets out a low laugh that rumbles out of his muscular chest like the growl of some beast.

“Very well, she is all yours. Hmhmhm~ My dear daughter, this is the first time that you have ever wanted anything from me, if I am not mistaken. All of your other siblings are always asking for this and that, but never you. You hardly ever even talk to me unless I call for you first. Hahahaha, it makes me glad to see you finally being a bit selfish.”

Father gives one last uninterested look towards Vivviv before smiling back towards me. “Well, I do believe that handles everything for now. You have your orders, so the two of you can go now. Vivviv, obey your sister and try to learn from her.”

I stand and bow, moving my hand to push Vivviv’s head down into a bow as well.

“Yes Father. Thank you.”

“Ehh! Ah, yes Father. Thank you…”

Taking Vivviv by the hand, I pull her behind me as she follows in a fluster.

Before we leave, I turn back to Father and ask, “Father, could you answer a riddle for me?”

“A riddle?”

“Yes.”

“Mhh, what is it?”

I recite it for him, having memorized the riddle so that I may speak it in our language.

“This thing all things devours:

Birds, beasts, trees, flowers;

Gnaws iron, bites steel;

Grinds hard stone to meal;

Slays king, ruins town,

And beats high mountains down.”

He tilts his head and thinks, silently repeating the riddle to himself before coming to an answer. He smiles, showing off his sharp teeth as he answers. “Me.”

I simply smile as Vivviv looks confusedly between us, her hand still in mine. “Yes Father.”

I turn to leave with Vivviv as he laughs lightly behind me.

Walking away from Father’s domain and back towards my forces to direct them, Vivviv continues to follow me as I pull on her hand. She eventually works up the courage to say something and I turn to hear her. She is looking up at me with a blush on her face.

“Why… why did you… Does this mean that we are going to…?”

I stop her before she can stutter out anything else. “No. I claimed you because you were scared, and you are my little sister. I’m not going to do anything to you. For now, you will be working for me. Just stay by my side and do as I say. Understand?”

“Ah! Uh, yes big sister! Uhhmm… Thank… Thank you…”

“Mhm.” I mumble with a nod. Turning to keep walking, I stop as she doesn’t move, her hand still holding mine.

Turning back, she speaks, “Uhm, we are holding hands…”

“Yes, we are…”

I let go of her hand, but she quickly grabs it again before it can get away, one of her vines moving down her arm to loosely wrap around my wrist. I could easily free my hand, but I don’t…

“Uhm… Is it alright for me to… touch you…?”

I raise an eyebrow at this and look at her hand that is holding mine.

I don’t like being touched… But, her hand is soft…

“You… Haah, you can touch me. But no one else can…”

She beams at me with a smile like a blooming flower, and for a moment, I swear that the flowery scent around her seems to grow even sweeter. Her fear from earlier seemingly evaporating like a snowball thrown into an open fire.

“Yay!” She squeaks out happily as she moves forward and wraps her arms around my waist, burying her face into my chest.

I have to hold down an uncomfortable grunt at the sudden contact, fighting down the urge to push her away from me. Slowly, I lower my arms and wrap them around her too, giving her a squeeze that makes her happily giggle in my arms…

She… She really is soft. And very warm…

Looking up at me from where she is squeezed between my breast, she gazes at me with a blush and a smile. “Could… Could we sleep together? Like you said to Father…”

“Ehhh…”

“The nights are cold…” She whispers as her blush grows deeper.

I have to look away as I suddenly grow embarrassed for some reason, her gaze and her question suddenly making me grow very self-conscious. My mind goes back to what my sisters were doing in Father’s room and the thought of me doing that with Vivviv sends my mind reeling.

“On-Only sleeping!” I tell her in a hurry. “We can sleep together. But we won’t be doing what our sisters were doing… That was just an excuse to keep you away from Father…”

“Mhm! Yes, ok! Thank you, big sister!” She exclaims happily as she buries her face back into my chest and nuzzles against me. Looking down, I find that quite a few of her vines have started to wrap around me as she continues to hug me.

Have I made a mistake? This is… But… She is soft though… and as long as we don’t go too far, this should be fine, right? It’s just sleeping together…

Before I can stop myself, I find myself petting her hair and giving her another squeeze.

She really is soft and warm, and she smells nice… Maybe keeping her around won’t be so bad.

“… Come on Vivviv. We need to go move my forces.”

“Yes, big sister!” She happily answers.

“…Uh, you need to let me go so I can walk… but, you can hold my hand if you want…”
