The Slime Part 1

Khaos's POV

On a regular day in the Verdant Forest chopping down some lumber, I came across a normal slime. I eyed it for a moment thinking that it would stupidly attack me but it just lazed around like a cat. Curious at this strange slime, I walked over and squatted beside it. Even then, the slime seemed to ignore me as it just jiggle around. How interesting.... I grabbed a nearby stick and poked at the slime. Unlike other slimes who would stick onto the slime, this slime to have shrugged the stick off and even avoided when I tried to poke at it again. Is this slime depressed or something? It's pretty lethargic. After a while of observing this odd creature, I got up and started chopping wood again.

Slime's POV

"Ugh...why did I reincarnate as a slime?!" The slime sighed. "I used to find these buggers disgusting and dangerous."

That's right, I was a reincarnated being. In my previous life, I was a young boy who lived in a village in the East Mountains. But due to the Orc Army invasions, me and my village met out end. Now, I had reincarnated. Initially, I wanted to take revenge after waking to find myself alive...but now...it seemed useless. I had reincarnated into a slime. Although slimes are weak, but they are still stronger than the average villager...but that's just it. Normal slimes like me can't be stronger than that. How can I avenge my village now?

*RUUMMMBBLLEEE!!*

Ugh! My stomach has been growling nonstop since I was "born"...how are slimes produced exactly? Anyways, I have eaten some plants and some small insects but these did not satiate my hunger. Why am I so hungry? I didn't know slimes could get hungry in the first place!

*RUUMMMBBLLEEE!!*

Ugh, I looked at the other slimes and they seemed be eating small animals as well as each other. Aghast by the sight of seeing the "cannibalism" as well as the small animals dissolving in the partially transparent bodies of my fellow slime brothers and sisters, I rolled away to a safe distance. Rolling away for some distance now, I finally stopped in a clearing.

Sigh! So hungry! I mused. Suddenly, I see a human approach the clearing and proceeded to chop at a tree. The human was rather tall and had black hair. He looked to be of eastern descent. The human was wearing mostly black clothes and carrying a long knife at his side. A small bag was slung over his shoulders. After chopping down one tree, the human finally took noticed of me. Scared, I froze.

"I'm not here...I'm not here...I'm a rock...I'm a rock...." I repeatedly chanted. However, the human still approached. He squatted down and looked at me. By this time, coupled with the hunger, I was feeling a little depressed and started to ignore the human. Fine, if the human wants to kill me, then so be it. I closed my "eyes", or rather if I had any that's what is happening right now, and awaited my doom. But...nothing happened...well except for a constant prodding on my side. The human was poking at me with a stick! Finally, irritated by the prodding, I pushed away the stick. To my surprise, the human did not get angry and instead started to poke again. This time, I was prepared and I dodged the incoming stick.

I looked at the human and dared him to poke again. After a few minutes of what seemed to be a stare-down, the human got up and continued chopping. Curious at this strange human, I edged towards him. Even when I reached near the human's feet, the human seemed to ignore me. What a strange person!

Khaos's POV

Hmmm, the slime is inching towards me...is it going to attack? No...it seems to be just curious. Maybe this is a young slime who has never seen another creature before...but if that's the case, what is it doing all the way out here? Where are the other young slimes? They usually appear in clusters...after all, safety in numbers right? Ignoring the slime, I continued chopping. Finally, I chopped down my second tree. At the corner of my eye, I spotted the slime just a foot or two away from me. Is the slime observing me? Curious! Curious indeed. What a strange creature!

I turned towards the slime and squatted down beside it. I reached in my bag and brought out a chicken leg...do slimes eat cooked food? They should right? They're not picky eaters. I handed the chicken leg to the slime who started to eat it with relish. Hmm, must have been hungry...so then why didn't it attack me? Maybe I'm too strong hehehe. I reached in my bag again and pulled out a whole roast chicken. Then I shoved it into the slime's face who proceeded to consume it...bones and all. Oh! What's that? An air bubble? Did it just burp? Incredible! How interesting this little fellow is.

"Interesting little fellow...." I muttered. "Well, run along now. I'm heading towards a human village and they don't treat well towards monsters."

I got up and started heading south. When I looked back to see if the slime left, I was surprised that it was following me. Did I just tame a little slime with food?

Slime's POV

Once I reached near the strange human's feet, he had just finishing cutting down another tree. Suddenly, the human turned around and squatted...his eyes observing me like a hawk. Did he get angry and wants to kill me now? I shivered at the thought and sighed in depression at my fate. However, I was surprised. The human reached in his bag...and pulled out a chicken leg. Looking at the finely roasted chicken leg, my mouth - if I had one - couldn't stop drooling. The human tossed the leg towards me and I quickly devoured it. Oh the rich taste, how I missed it...crap! I ate too fast. I looked at the human expectantly...will I get another? The human reached in his bag and pulled another leg...no!...a whole roasted chicken! The human shoved the whole chicken in my face and I quickly consumed it. I was so hungry that I even ate the bones. With a satisfying sigh, I burped...how embarrassing.

"Interesting little fellow...." The human muttered. "Well, run along now. I'm heading towards a human village and they don't treat well towards monsters."

Seeing the human leave, I pondered deeply. If I can follow this kind human, will I not have to worry about food? But he's going towards a human village and as a former villager, I know the fears they would have towards monsters like me. Ah screw it. I'll just stick close to that human and maybe he'll take me in. With my decision confirmed, I hurried after the human. When the human turned his head back and saw me following, I panicked thinking that I might get rejected. But the human shrugged and continue south. Did I get accepted?
