More Guild Quests Part 3

Arriving at the mountains, I scanned the vicinity. What am I looking for you say? Caves...giant caves. Cyclopes have been known to reside in giant caves. Most cyclopes that live in caves however are not warrior type cyclopes but instead they are mainly shepherds. However, do not let your guard down with these cyclopes. Even if they appear friendly because they raise sheep, these cyclopes have been known to eat humans on a daily basis. While they take their sheep out to graze, they themselves would roam around the vicinity looking for a light snack. Spotting a large cave, I hurried over to the entrance. As I approached the entrance, I see a cyclops (let's call him Shepherd) herding a group of sheep out of the cave. Quickly and quietly, I tiptoed to a boulder next to the entrance. When all the sheep left the cave, the cyclops rolled the boulder to block the entrance. Before, the cyclops completely shut the cave entrance, I slipped into the cave. Looking around, I realized that there were four cyclopes inside. Two were asleep (let's call them Sleepy 1 and 2), one was eating what looks like a human (let's call him Eater), and the other was making a stone chair (let's nickname him Carver).

"Sniff sniff...I smell the smell of a human." Carver boomed.

"It's probably just this." Eater said as he held up the half eaten human corpse.

"No, I smell another."

"It's probably your imagination. Why would a puny human want to come here?"

"No, I'm sure its-."

"SHUT IT!" Boomed Sleepy 2, "We're trying to sleep!"

Carver closed his mouth but you can still hear him grumbling. Patting my chest, I sighed. "Whew, that was close." Taking out my Ghost Mask, I transformed into a ghost. I activated my invisibility skill and erased all of my presence. Carver looked around startled when he couldn't pick up my scent anymore. He shook his head a bit and finally concluded that he must have imagined it. I floated towards the two sleeping cyclopes and picked up a fist size rock in each hand. Then, I phased the rocks into the hearts of Sleepy 1 and Sleepy 2. Immediately, the two cyclopes woke up screaming in pain. They clutched their hearts but could not rid themselves of the pain. Carver and Eater both rushed over asking what was wrong. Before they could speak, the Sleepy 1 and Sleepy 2 collapsed in the other two cyclopes arms and died. While the cyclopes were distracted, I switched to my Basilisk Mask.

Sensing the sudden appearance of a presence from behind, Carver turned around to look. As soon as our eyes met, I activated Death Stare. Carver froze in shock and his eyes rolled over. With blood coming out of all six openings of his face, Carver pointed towards me before collapsing onto the floor and dying instantly. Eater looks at the dead Carver in surprise and angrily glared at the direction Carver was pointing at. When he saw me, he froze as well as blood began coming out of his openings. Collapsing onto the ground, Eater looks at me. "Y-you...."

When the last cyclops in the room died, I removed my mask. I took out my skinning knife and gouged out the eyes of Sleepy 1 and Sleepy 2. Then, I removed their faces. Since Carver and Eater bled from all six openings of the face, their eyes and faces are damaged and unusable. I looked around the cave and looted some gold. An hour passed by and I heard the boulder at the front of the cave entrance move. As the boulder slid to the right, a voice sounded out.

"Brothers! Guess what I found? An elf...and a female one at that!" Shepherd exclaimed as he walked in with an elf in his left hand. However, when he saw his dead brothers, he immediately dropped the elf and rushed to his brothers' corpses. "W-who did this to you? WHO?!"

"I did." I said as I jumped towards him.

Shepherd turns around at the sound of my voice. With a double swipe of my skinning knife, I removed his face and gouged out his eye. The cyclops keeled over in pain. He roared and started swinging his arms wildly. I laughed at his misery and called out to him. Shepherd followed my voice and stumbled towards me. I ran towards the edge of the mountain and taunted the cyclops to come. Shepherd, mind clouded with pain and anger, rushed over and lunged at me. I rolled from under his feet and Shepherd tumbled down the mountain...his screams resounded throughout the mountain. Seeing him plunge to his death, I walked back to the cave. I spotted the unconscious elf and walked towards her. I moved her in an upright position and gently slapped her awake.

"Nngghh....Don't e-eat me!" The female elf shrieked as soon as she woke up.

"Relax, you're safe now." I said. "Stop! No...I don't do hugs. Anyways, who are you?"

The elf told me that her name is Emelelyn Oakenlake and she was a princess of the Wood Elf Kingdom - Oakenlake Kingdom. Apparently, her kingdom will soon be invaded by a monster army. She heard about the Adventurer's Guild and wanted to go request help. I told her not to worry as I am an adventurer from the guild. I told her that I'm on my way back to the guild and can escort her back. As we proceeded down the mountain, I realized that I have one more quest to finish. But, where do boar warriors live? Maybe I can find some along the way back to the guild.

..........

Along the way, I introduced myself to the Wood elf princess. But being the anti-social person that I am, it was hard to strike a conversation with her without it being awkward. So we trekked back in silence. As we approached the plains, I see a huge herd of Rampaging rhinos. Now, if I was by myself, I would be able to breeze past them with ease, however, there is now someone else with me. This complicates things.

I turned to the elf and said, "It's too much of a hassle trying to cut through here what with all those rhinos. Let's circle around them, alright?"

The elf nodded but her eyes showed a bit of disdain...like how I am an adventurer if I can't take care of a herd of rhinos. I of course ignored her. So, we headed south for a while before proceeding towards the direction of the guild again. Soon, we arrived near a lake by some trees. We stopped by the lake and took a break and refilled our water supply. Suddenly a loud *OOOIIINNNNKKKK* echoed in the air. Turning my head, I see a small group of 5 Boar Warriors approaching our direction. The elf jumped up in fright and hid behind me.

Taking out my Orc King Mask, I transformed...to the surprise of the elf. She jumped back and fell on the ground as memories of Orc attacks plagued her mind. Ignoring her collapse, I charged forward with my battleaxe raised. Being an Orc King, my strength overwhelms that of the Boar Warriors. Our head on charges crashes against each other, however, only the Boar Warriors flew back a few steps with shock on their faces. I jumped towards one of the Boar Warriors and brought my battleaxe on his head. With the momentum of the jump, my attack slashed through the Boar Warrior and split him in half. Without stopping, I took advantage of their shock and beheaded another Boar Warrior.

"Ouch!" I flinched. A spear appeared at my lower side. In anger, I grabbed the spear and pulled the Boar Warrior towards me. I brought my battleaxe down and halved the enemy. Two more left...I looked around and saw one of the Boar Warriors running towards the collapsed elf. I roared and immediately rushed towards the Boar Warrior. Seeing that I won't be able to make it there in time, I hefted my battleaxe and threw it at the Boar Warrior. The battleaxe sliced deep in the back of the Boar Warrior, killing him. Stupidly, I sighed in relief and let my guard down. I saw the terror in the elf princess's eyes and realized too late as I felt a sharp pain at my throat. Looking down, I see a spear piercing my throat, the spear head and a good portion of the spear were out and covered in blood. I pulled the spear out of my throat and threw it at the last Boar Warrior. The spear pierced the Boar Warrior's stomach, pinning him to the ground. I collapse from the blood flow and the elf rush towards me in tears.

Of course, when the elf princess saw me revert back to human form - healthy and alive - she bit her lip and looked at me, feeling cheated of her emotions. The elf princess humphed and stomped away. I laughed in amusement. Then, I looked at the last Boar Warrior. He was struggling on the last threads of life. Before he dies, I took out my skinning knife and removed his face. I stored the face in my ring and went looking for the elf princess. Once I found her, I joked and teased at her a bit before persuading her to continue walking towards the guild.

..........

Arriving at the guild after a long day of questing and near-death experiences, I walked into the guild. I submitted my quest report - all successes. Then, I told Shadow about the Wood Elf princess and her troubles. Shadow notified the guildmaster about the situation..but what happens is not my decision to make. I bid goodbye to the elf and headed home.
