Instinctively, Ryzen swung around in Enancia’s direction to warn her about the upcoming battle. Unfortunately, he had failed to remember what she had said about drying off.
“Ryzen!” she said while taking a step back in surprise.
She wasn’t exactly naked but in her underwear, which wasn’t much better. He immediately turned back around but it was already too late.
“S…Sorry! I didn’t mean to!” he shouted, completely losing his train of thought.
“What do you mean you didn’t mean to! You idiot!” Enancia stuttered.
Ryzen quickly regained his sense of urgency and was about to inform Enancia of the enemies; however, her next comment shocked him.
“If you wanted to see, then you could have just asked…” she said slightly quieter.
“What! No, I didn’t want to see!” Ryzen shouted.
“What? You don’t want to…” Enancia said sadly.
“No! I mean not like… Enemies!” Ryzen shouted.
“Huh?” Enancia questioned.
“I sensed enemies coming in. They’ll be here any second!”
“Why didn't you say so sooner?” Enancia said in horror.
“I… I was distracted!” Ryzen said.
“I’m half naked!”
“Get your clothes on! We need to go now!”
“But they’re still wet!”
Ryzen groaned as he braced himself for what he was about to do. He turned around and grabbed Enancia. She was looking at him in shock but they didn’t have time to converse. He could tell that the people who were tracking him would be there any second. They could see Enancia after all.
He dived into his shadow and sped off back towards the village. Unfortunately, Enancia was holding on tightly to him and he could still feel in his shadow.
Thankfully, he was faster than the people tracking them so he was able to make it to the village before they did. He dived into their room and took them out of his shadow. Before saying a single word, he threw some clothes at Enancia. They were men’s clothes but they would have to do for now.
Enancia was staring at him with a beet-red face but didn’t complain as she put on the clothes.
Thankfully, she quickly pulled herself together and asked, “Where are they right now?”
“About ten minutes away. I can only sense the people attempting to track me so it’s not perfect but there are still about ten of them.”
“I see… they may be demons then. We need to go.”
Ryzen nodded his head and prepared to grab Enancia and run; however, something stopped him.
If there were really demons coming over here then it would leave Hedmon alone to fend them. If that happened then Ryzen could easily predict what would be the result of such an encounter.
“We can’t go yet, I have to do something,” he said.
“There are literal demons rapidly coming to our location. What could you possibly need to do? Ryzen, we need to leave!”
“I… I need to help someone. I’ll be right back…” Ryzen said. He quickly realized his mistake.
Enancia very nearly growled at Ryzen, “You fucking piece of shit! What’s wrong with you!”
“Stop cursing, geez! I didn’t mean it like that! You can come!”
Enancia’s face went red in embarrassment, “I…I’m sorry. I’ll try not to anymore.”
“I mean it’s cute sometimes but I don’t want you to be mad at me…”
“Ryzen! You’re a fucking idiot, you know that!”
Ryzen smiled and held his hand for her. “Let’s go.”

She grabbed it and he sped off towards Hedmon’s location. Enancia was clearly confused when he went directly towards the place where the vampires were but Ryzen didn’t have time to explain.
He dashed down the stairs in his shadow and sped into the dining room where Hedmon was located. He was currently sitting with his wife, who was enjoying a meal with him.
He basically appeared in front of both of them causing Hedmon to jump out of his seat in shock and his wife’s eyes to open wide in shock.
“The demons are coming, you need to leave. Now.” Ryzen muttered.
Hedmon slowly nodded his head, instantly understanding the gravity of the situation.
“Marilee, tell the clan. If what this man says is true then his words are true. We must leave as soon as possible.”
“Hedmon! How do we know they are not lying? They just… appeared! What if they are trying to bait us?” Marilee worriedly said.
Hedmon shook his head, “That is not the case. Why else would he bring the powerless demon girl with him? He cares about her greatly.”
Marilee glanced at them and sighed, “I shall go inform everyone. If what they are saying is true, then… I don’t even want to think about it.”
Hedmon nodded and watched as Marilee walked away.
He turned back towards Ryzen and said, “Thank you for taking the time to warn us. Now, go, it is clear to me that you have taken a risk coming here. I shall hold you hear no longer.”
Ryzen nodded and moved to grab Enancia but he paused before doing so.
“Be safe… Hedmon.”
“And you too, Alex. I hope that we meet again.”
Ryzen nodded and grabbed Enancia’s hand. They traveled out of the vampire’s underground space and into the forest. He once again zoomed away until he could feel no one tracking him.
He came out of his shadow and sat against a tree. Enancia decided to prop herself up against him and rest on his shoulder.
“So… you are capable of caring for other people,” she said.
“I guess so. I didn’t want to see him die. His story reminded me of my own.”
Enancia giggled, “What, are you talking about… his elf wife? How exactly did that remind you of your own?”
Realizing what she was implying, Ryzen’s face went red.
“I… I don’t know,” was all he was able to get out before Enancia burst into laughter.
“You really are funny sometimes, you know that?”
Ryzen failed to answer as he desperately avoided eye contact. He was embarrassed.
“So, you really see a future with me, huh?” Enancia asked, breaking the silence.
Ryzen finally looked back towards Enancia who was smiling softly at him.
“I guess…”
“Me too…” she said.
“Enancia?”
“Yes?”
“W…what do you refer to someone who is romantically involved with someone else? Like before they get married?” Ryzen asked.
“Hm… I’m not sure. I don’t think there’s a word for that.”
“Well, my world has one.”
“Woah, really?” Enancia’s head slid onto Ryzen’s lap so that she could look up at him.
“Yeah”
“So?” Enancia said with a giggle.
“What?” Ryzen asked as if he wasn’t aware of what Enancia was clearly asking for.
“What are they called dummy?”
“The terms are girlfriend and boyfriend.”
“So…” Enancia said, clearly waiting for Ryzen to say something.
“I guess… do you want to be my girlfriend?” Ryzen sheepishly asked.
“Hm, I’m not sure, I’ll have to think about it.” Enancia joked.
However, Ryzen was so flustered, that he didn’t pick up on that. Instead, his eyes went wide with panic.
“Oh… sorry, forget I even asked,” he said.
“Ryzen! I was just kidding. I would love to be your girlfriend!” Enancia said.
“You would?” he asked.
“Yes, you idiot! How can you not tell after how we’ve been acting with each other? You really are a moron sometimes!”
“Sorry!”
But Enancia didn’t respond with words. She moved her head up to kiss him.
After sharing a moment, Ryzen looked off into the distance.
“Where do we go from here?” he asked.
“Well, the capital is still our goal, right?”
“Yes, that’s where we can find someone who may know about getting me back to my original world, right?”
“Yes, boyfriend! That’s it!” Enancia said causing Ryzen to laugh.
“You don’t use it like that! It’s not a nickname!”
Enancia frowned as she questioned, “Then how?”
“It’s just kind of what we are. We’re boyfriend and girlfriend as like a general term. To you, I’m still Ryzen and you’re still Enancia.”
“Oh! I think I get it!”
Ryzen chuckled at her enthusiasm. Who would have thought he could have been this happy so far away from home?
