Venis marched toward Marikon, the bastion of the annoying ass Lightcloaks. Supposedly, they had gotten a lead from some boot-licker human who had infiltrated them. Obviously, they knew he was human but Xeruf had been curious as to what he was trying to gain. That was before shit hit the fan and some fucking psycho killed him.
First, this fucker takes the demon bitch that Venis was holding for the higher-ups. His current number one goal was finding her. If he failed to do so then his life was essentially forfeit. If that wasn’t bad enough, he also goes and kills Xeruf while doing so. Nobody knows what this guy looks like or what his skills are.
Next, the vampire that was supposed to be keeping watch on the new humans also turns up fucking dead. Apparently, there had been multiple knife wounds all over her until she took one in the heart. A sick fucking joke.
Then to top it all off, Venis hears from Lilian about some sort of rebellion group called the Lightcloaks. In his city! Venis thought it was utter bullshit the first time he heard it but sure enough, this Samuel guy confirmed everything. He still could barely believe it! A goddamn human had thought he could infiltrate him!
Venis groaned loudly at the awful mess he was in. What sort of ruler couldn’t keep a few humans and traitorous vampires in line? Venis tightly clenched his fists. Ultimately, it wouldn’t matter in the end as he was about to take out all his anger on this Marikon. He would ensure everyone there suffered greatly before he atomized their bodies and decimated their homes.
Such a thought brought a smile to his face even when he was in such a terrible mood.
“Venis sir, we’re nearing the Lightcloak bastion! Do you want us to initiate the attack?” one of Venis’s elite guards asked.
Like Xeruf or Lilian, Alice was much stronger than the average guard. Venis rewarded such vampires with superior darkblight armor.
“Yes, attack, make them think they have a chance. It will be much more satisfying when I do make my appearance and I can watch that same hope turn into despair.” Venis’s face morphed into a cruel smile and Alice nodded.
“Sir, does this mean you want me to go easy on them?” Alice asked.
Venis frowned but then realized what Alice was saying. She too was C-tier but just barely. Still, that was likely overkill if he just wanted to toy with the enemy forces.
“Yes, yes, you are right. In that case, you will stay with me.” Venis said with a sigh.
“As you wish, Venis sir.”
Satisfied with his decision, he motioned for the rest of his army to move forward into Marikon.
He watched as countless vampires flooded through the tunnel and into the open space of what he assumed to be Marikon. He could indeed see a small force at the opposite end of the area. They were fighting ferociously against his army and were managing to even make a small dent. It did make sense since they had to have been strong enough to defend themselves.
Suddenly, a wave of energy flew through the air and split whatever it hit in two. Venis groaned as a chunk of his army was torn to shreds.
“I underestimated them. Alice, go have some fun.” Venis looked over at Alice, who was clearly itching to join the fight.
“Yes, Venis sir!” she cried happily.
Layers upon layers of multi-colored shields appeared over her body and multiple blood balls hovered around her. Her feet lifted off the ground in a hover and she shot away towards the fight.
Venis watched as the blood balls around her morphed together into one large orb. She launched it into the enemy, who had put up some sort of shield. The orb crashed through the shield and blew up on impact. Venis grinned at the damage the attack had caused.
The people who had taken the direct impact had their bodies torn about while others were hit by the shrapnel. They had their arms or legs torn off from the explosion. Overall, Venis was satisfied with Alice’s attack. It was truly worthy of a C tier.
Alice was laughing as she summoned five blood balls and chucked them at the enemy causing even more damage. However, this time they were cut to shreds by a woman wielding a longsword.

Alice’s smile warped into a frown and she sent ten more blood balls at her. The woman cut them down all the same and launched herself at Alice. A wave of energy blasted out of her sword and came into direct impact with Alice. Two of the five shields she had erected crumpled immediately. The woman’s sword wiped out another shield but that was it. Alice still had two more shields surrounding her, ensuring she was completely invulnerable to any attacks she may have received.
A wild grin came about her face as spun her wand. A thin blood spike came out of nowhere and impaled the woman in midair. The woman dropped to the ground and clutched her stomach wound desperately.
Suddenly, a thick beam of lightning came out of nowhere and struck Alice, launching her to the ground and destroying her second-to-last shield. An older woman walked out of the crowd with a growl. She was holding a large staff in her hands and was dressed as a witch.
Alice struggled off the ground but the other woman seemed to be back in the fight as she slammed her sword on Alice, breaking her last shield. As a last-ditch effort, Alice cast a spell and countless tiny blood spikes erupted out of her like a grenade.
Venis sighed, knowing he would have to get involved. That old witch would be a little too much for someone at Alice’s level.
The woman with the sword was pushed back by Alice’s attack but the old witch wasn’t. She moved to slam her staff down and summon another bolt but she didn’t. Why? Well, it was because she was dead.
In one swift movement, Venis had sprinted across the battlefield and sliced her head off with his rapier. A thin piece of dead sharp bloodmetal that was deployed with just a single drop of vampire blood.
The old witch’s head slipped off her body and she crumpled like a sack of potatoes. Venis made a swift movement, invisible to the naked human eye, which instantly sliced off the heads of everyone in a ten-foot radius of him.
“Ahh, how I enjoy crushing the hopes and dreams of prey. It is a feeling unlike any other.” Venis let out a slight laugh.
The woman who had so desperately fought Alice screamed some nonsense at him and charged like a headless monkey.
Venis laughed at the futility of the situation and sliced off her legs before she could even relax. The woman’s screams only further field Venis’s enjoyment. He couldn’t help but pick her up with one hand and bite into her soft flesh.
Usually, he had to be moderate and soft with the human meals. He couldn’t just go up and kill them after all. This was different. This woman was a villain who needed to be put down, So, Venis enjoyed his meal and the screaming and kicking that went with it. How he enjoyed how her kicks started to slow, the life draining from her body.
Soon, everything came to a stop and she went limp, clearly dead. Venis chucked her body off to the side and motioned for his army to do what they wanted with the survivors. Any humans were immediately bit into by multiple vampires. Any traitorous vampires were killed without mercy.
Any vampires who hadn’t had a chance to get a human immediately started ransacking the surrounding buildings. Venis enjoyed the screams and cries that came from the humans being slaughtered. Such was the only fate that awaited any who thought they could live unlike cattle here.
“What the fuck!” one of his men yelled out.
Curious, Venis went to check what was wrong. He didn’t have anything else to do. His eyes nearly popped out of his head when he saw what had happened.
One of his men was holding a pale woman with dirty white hair and crimson eyes. Someone he was very familiar with. Venis could simply not believe his luck. With one fell swoop, he had accomplished every single goal on his list!
The vampire moved to kill her and Venis immediately slammed him into the floor. “Are you stupid you mongrel? That’s the demon you dumbshits are supposed to be looking for!”
Venis didn’t give him a chance to respond and just smashed his head in. He was not interested in vampires who failed to follow simple directions.
He then turned his attention to the horrified-looking demon. “Oh, how you were so very missed, beautiful.”
He tenderly grabbed her hand, easily dodging whatever attempts at retaliation were directed at him.
“Go fuck yourself!” she screamed, getting spit all over his face.
Venis did not in fact like this. So, he slapped her into the ground, knocking her unconscious. He picked her up and motioned for Alice to come to him.
She stumbled over, still injured from her fight, and bowed. “I am very sorry for being so weak.”
“Nonsense, you did well. Now, burn this rat's nest down. I would like this place to be a reminder to any who ever try this again.” Venis said.
Alice nodded and summoned a large blood orb. The orb suddenly burst into flames and was sent at the mass of buildings once known as Marikon.
Venis nodded and left, carrying Enancia in his arms.
