Enancia wasn’t too perturbed but she made sure Ryzen knew how much she disliked telling the vampire that other demons hated her. It clearly wasn’t something she liked to talk about much, especially with strangers.
If that wasn’t enough, she began to go on about how she didn’t like the supposed “stuck-up” vampire. She was offended that he would think she would even think about eating humans.
Ryzen didn’t exactly know how to react to her complaints but it was clear that he wasn’t supposed to provide a solution. When he tried to, she immediately told him to shut up. Realizing her mistake, she immediately apologized confusing Ryzen even more. How was he supposed to help her?
Eventually, Enancia fell asleep on Ryzen’s shoulder, making him feel obligated to sit as still as possible. He couldn’t think of much else to do so he decided to check up on his status screen since he hadn’t done that in a while.

He knew he had leveled up a few more times since his fight with the C-tier vampire, the goblins, and the demons but he hadn’t realized how much. Apparently, he was level 24 by now which meant that he had 25 more stat points to select.
Enancia shifted a little on his shoulder and yawned as she woke up. She blinked a couple of times at Ryzen and frowned.
“Ryzennnnnnn,” she whined.
“Hm?” Ryzen said while contemplating where to put his stat points.
“You still haven’t shown me your actual status screen! Or how you can even change it! Do you realize how crazy that is?” she complained.
“Would you like to see?” Ryzen said, glancing at her.
“Yes! Show it to me!” Enancia said excitedly while pushing into Ryzen.
He couldn’t help but smile as he felt her soft body press into him. He wasn’t doing so for any sexual reason. It just felt nice.
He made his usually invisible status visible so that Enancia could also view it. She excitedly swayed back and forth on Ryzen’s body as she rapidly took in all the information.
“You’re only level 24! How do you have so many points for your level? Also, I’ve never even heard of your class before! And you really are from a different world! Ugh…. I have so many questions!”
Ryzen chuckled at her little outburst and said, “Well, I guess I can answer a few of them…”
Before he could even finish what he was saying, Enancia practically threw herself on top of him and stared him right in the face. “No! I want every answer! You got it! Every question I ask needs to be answered! No excuses!”
“Okay, Okay, I promise!”
Enancia squinted her eyes at him and nodded her head in approval. Finally, she allowed him to sit back up, and together, they went back to looking at his status screen.
This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.
“Wait,” Ryzen said.
Enancia glared at him but allowed him to continue speaking without getting trampled this time.
“If I’m answering all of your questions then I want you to answer all of mine,” Ryzen still had a ton of things he didn’t know about this world and Enancia. He didn’t expect to learn them all now but he wanted at least a general idea.
However, Enancia just rolled her eyes and haughtily smiled. “I’ve already been doing that for you, idiot.”
“Whatever,” Ryzen said while shaking his head.
Enancia stuck her tongue out at Ryzen and said, “Quit dawdling and show me your skills dumbass.”
Ryzen sighed and brought up the first skill he had ever received. Except, a weird prompt he had never seen before showed up.

Analysis complete…
Skill ‘Shadow Step’ rank recognized
Shadow Step (Legendary): The first true skill of a shadow soldier whose first strike was usually their last. One component of this was their immaculate stealth allowing them to move through the shadows. Sometimes, shadow soldiers were required to bring their targets in alive. It was not an uncommon sight for them too to disappear into the shadows.
Consume 5 MP per second and speed as a shadow is double your usual agility. Consume 10 MP per second while carrying another person. Trap them there for 1 MP per second.
Enancia quietly read the description and glanced at Ryzen repeatedly while she did so. Once she finished, she stared at him for a moment, clearly thinking about something.
Finally, she said, “You’re too strong…”
Ryzen waited for her to say something else but she was obviously lost in her own thoughts. So, he took the time to bring up his status screen about Shadow Daggers as he leveled it up a while back and had completely forgotten about the upgrade.
Once again the same prompt appeared before the skill showed.
Shadow Daggers (Legendary): Another important skill utilized by shadow soldiers. There were often times when soldiers were needed to neutralize multiple targets at the same time. Use the power of the shadows to form two deadly daggers that can be controlled with your mind. Pierces most armors. Cost ten MP per summon.
Like his shadow step skill, shadow daggers were also legendary. Ryzen wasn’t sure how good this was but based on Enancia’s startled reaction, it was probably pretty good.
“Ryzen!” she said while giving him a playful push. “This is insane! This is beyond insane! Two legendaries? Do you not understand how crazy that is?”
Ryzen slowly shook his head. “I guess not.”
He brought up his next skill, specifically to answer Enancia’s question.
Disguise (Epic): Allows the user to hide/edit the outside appearance of their status. Stats must be lower than their actual value.
The skill rank for this one had also upgraded although it was only epic. That made sense to Ryzen as it wasn’t nearly as strong as his other skills. Still, it was extremely useful.
“So, that’s how you do it? And it’s an epic? Do you only have crazy high-ranked skills?” Enancia said with a sigh.
Ryzen shrugged as he brought up the next skill he had.
Shadow Bomb (Epic): Although some people regarded them as such, shadow warriors were not gods. There were times when they made mistakes and required a more… forceful solution. Summon a shadow bomb that deals heavy damage on impact and emits shadow smoke. Standing in shadow smoke will heal you but poison and blind all others. Strength scales with intelligence. Costs 100 Mp per use.
This one was also an epic, boggling Enancia. He immediately brought up his last skill which shocked even him.
Shadow Guard (Passive) (Mythical): There were many who held a deep hatred for the shadow soldiers and many who would often search for them, yet they were never successful. This was because of their Shadow Guard skill. A small shadow barrier now surrounds you at all times, giving protection against all mental, poison, and search attacks.
Upon seeing this, Enancia gasped and nearly fell on Ryzen.
All she managed to say was, “I have no more words.”
Ryzen chuckled as he put away his status and allowed himself to relax. These skills were the only reason he was still alive. If he had never gotten them then he would likely be dead, blown away from the explosion of Vampirneck.
He looked over to Enancia and enjoyed watching her deeply contemplate something. She was a profound individual, one he was extremely glad to be around.
“I think I have an idea of how your skills and class are so powerful. You’re class is likely of the old world back when the humans ruled. Ryzen, you must be related to some monster from the old human army.” Enancia concluded.
However, Ryzen was confused as to what she meant by monster. He was clearly human.
“I’m not a monster,” he said with a frown.
Enancia laughed and ruffled his hair with her hand, “I didn’t mean it that way silly. I just mean that you’re probably related to someone really powerful.”
Ryzen let out a sigh of relief. He didn’t want her to think he was some secret monster thing.
“Ryzen!” Enancia enthusiastically shouted. “Don’t think I forgot you mentioning something about all sorts of different books in your world! I want to know every single detail!”
Ryzen smiled and told Enancia various things about his world. He explained each genre in depth and Enancia gave her own quirky comments on everything. It was bliss.
Ryzen was just about to start asking his own questions when a notification popped out from his system. He pulled it up and froze.
Skill Shadow Guard has leveled up!
“Enancia?” Ryzen asked slowly.
“What’s wrong?” she asked worriedly. She could clearly see that he was acting strange.
“What are all the ways to level up a skill?”
“Hm… well I’m pretty sure there's just one way. It's based off when your skill is being used," she said.
Ryzen’s face paled. Someone was trying to track them.
