A thud, quickly followed by a groan. A quick loud whooshing sound and Avalon was standing right next to Naru, who was leaning up against a tree of course.
Avalon just side eyed her, almost as if he was waiting for her to say something (he was).
Naru could feel his eyes bearing into her as she tried her best to avoid making eye contact, the longer he stared the faster her foot taped against the ground. After he realized Naru wasn't going to say anything unless he drug it out of her he turned his head to face her fully and lifted one eyebrow.
Finally Naru caved. She let out a long dramatic groan and turned her head so she could scowl at Avalon.
“Uggghhhhh! Okay! Fine! Maybe we should've trained up his body a bit more before throwing him out there to spar with you.” She grumbled.
Avalon just raised his eyebrow again in response.
“BUT HE’S DOING BETTER!” She yelled in defense as she turned her body towards Avalon and threw her arms out.
“BETTER! Better at what?! Falling with style?!” He questioned a look of disbelief on his face.
The both of them had been so busy bickering they hadn't noticed the teenager that had limped past them and towards the base.
It had been about three weeks since Ame first started training with Naru and Avalon. Ame thought it was strange at first, Ame was quite physically skilled for someone his age and he could use a weapon, but Avalon still thought they should start almost from scratch. Naru said that he would be fine and at the time Ame thought so too.
Once he and Avalon started sparring he was taken down a peg. He thought maybe he had been over estimating himself all this time but he soon understood, it wasn't that he was weak, Avalon was just that strong.
Anytime Ame thought he figured out his fighting style, his patterns, his habits they changed to deflect him easily. Not to mention his aerial advantage. When they fought it seemed like Ame was nothing more than a fly, Avalon never said anything to discharge him, but he was such a little threat to the man. Ame wasn't the kind of person to be described as competitive, but something about Avalon just made Ame yearn to catch him off guard.
Ame reached the doorstep of the base he opened the door and went inside.
The base was settled on the biggest of the floating islands that were in the vicinity. There were quite a few of them, all connected by rope bridges, it reminded Ame of his home back in the village. They had been rotating between islands to train on each day, something about not being comfortable.
Ame was usually quite good at adapting to new surroundings especially due to his past, so he had begun to feel familiar with the islands, surprisingly Onyx did as well. There was a nice zen garden that the sun hit just perfectly, by the second day there Onyx had already abandoned Ame in favor of said zen garden.

Ame dragged down the hallway and into the room that was now his.
He plopped down on the bed. The room wasn't nearly as lived in and tranquil as Ame’s old one but it had already started to capture his energy quite well.
Ame had cut his hair about a week ago, it kept getting in face while fighting. Ame had always had long hair; it was something he was still adjusting too. It looked almost like a dandelion puff, all short and standing up.
It was a tad strange, how much things have changed in such a short period of time. He was still grieving Yuri of course but now he had a distraction, something to take his mind away from the dark places it would go.
So far it has just been training, he hasn't fought a demon or a breaker yet. Naru says that the best way to defeat Ki but keep humans at bay is to try and convince the elementals to side with them. Almost all of the elementals worked with Ki, the only one that hadn't been found by him or Naru was electricity.
As for the other Harbingers, Naru didn't seem too concerned with them until Ame voiced that he was after one demon specifically, she accepted it of course but only once he stood a chance.
When on the topic of the Harbingers Ame had started to notice Naru’s inability to understand mortality and human emotions. Avalon, knowing that it would come up eventually, took Ame outside to one of the smaller floating islands one night.
He explained to Ame that the celestial beings were something no one will ever truly understand. They just couldn't comprehend the fears, the worries, any of it. He told him that Naru was the best out of the three at communicating with mortals. He also said that it’s not just going to be the elementals that they will need. He said that they would have to work together and try to turn them on Ki. He said that would result in the least amount of bloodshed.
Ame took days to contemplate Avalons words. Naru was the best at relating to mortals, and she was basically socially inept, it's no wonder she didn't like the Breakers, they probably liked her just as much. These beings lived in an entirely different world.
He also realized there was going to be a war, nomadder what they did it was going to happen. He wasn't being trained to fight demons, he was being trained to be able to stand his own in any situation. They were preparing him to expect anything, how to handle different situations.
Ame was moving along quite well in his training, even with him not being able to touch Avalon. He learned quickly when it came to battle and defending himself, most likely due to his feral nature. Naru saw this as well. She was looking for any towns with demon problems or if there were any god metal mines nearby so Ame could get some actual experience in a battle. A demon would be the best for him to fight, just so he could get experience. Naru and Avalon both weren't demons let alone Nu demons so to have him fight one would be an excellent way to learn about their nature.
The nature of many species changed after the war, there were species that had evolved from humans, like elves but so many other things as well.
Elves are woodland people, unlike humans they don't have a predator drive, they tend to be much more empathetic towards the earth as well. They are much calmer people, but due to their prey like nature weaker demons also tend to hunt them. In some places humans have been known to have elves as servants and slaves because of their kind, patient and pacifist nature humans see them as a weaker species.
Nymphs were a lot like elves but they were born with abilities, usually ones that had to do with elements. Nymphs were something of a spirit, they come from another lifeform, something like a tree or a small lake. Nymphs were known to have a distaste towards humans, due to their destructive nature. Nymphs could manipulate elements but not control them, the only ones that could control elements were the elementals.
Ame sat up in his bed and grabbed his sketchbook. Naru and Avalon had been explaining different beings to him so he had an idea of what the different species looked like.
Yuri told Ame that if you read or hear about some kind of animal or thing like that, you should draw it, then when you finally see one in person you draw it again, just for the fun of a comparison.
Ame sat in his bed and started to sketch what he thought an Nymph might look like from what he had heard
