“Silver Card
Title: Hook
Description: A boxing move.
Mastery: F (0/100)”
Ryan is at home. He’s in his room. He looked at the card. It was a hook, and it was definitely better than a jab. In total, he has three cards. Ryan’s stomach churned at the thought of being the new Top Dog. He didn’t want to be one; he just wanted a peaceful life. He didn’t want to be bullied anymore.
[Next Day]
“I heard he lulls people into a false sense of security and then unleashes his power.”
“Apparently he went out to beat up Myles whole family.”
“He’s so scary.”
Ryan heard these absurd rumors. He stiffly walked through the halls, hearing these ludicrous rumors. He looked around but didn’t see Myles anywhere; he probably is skipping school.
“Apparently he beat Myles so bad that he’s in a coma!”
“W-what! No, I didn’t! He’s fine!”
Ryan thought as he walked into his class. Eyes were on him as he slowly walked to his desk. Ryan sank into his chair, the weight of everyone’s stares pressing down on him like a heavy blanket. It was surreal how fast things had spiralled out of control. Just yesterday, he was a quiet student blending into the background; today, he was the subject of wild rumours, painted as some sort of feared figure. The thought of setting the record straight was overwhelming, and the idea of facing the entire school to do so made him want to shrink away.
Ryan felt a stare burning through his soul. He looked around as his eyes landed on a kid who was leaning on his chair, staring at him.
“I see you.”
Ryan muttered.
“Alex Jones

Alex smirked and stood up. He slowly walked to Ryan. He leaned on his desk.
“So you’re the new Top Dog, eh? You’re so skinny and weak-looking. Come to the bathroom.”
“New Quest!
Quest: Defeat Alex Jones (0/1).
Reward: Silver Card”
Alex stopped leaning from the desk; he walked out of the classroom; Ryan followed after. He was stronger than Joseph, that’s for sure. At the bathroom, Alex stood quietly.
“I’m Alex Jones, and you’re getting your ass kicked.”
Alex said, smirking. He raised his fists.
“All he knows is how to jab; I just need to dod—“
Alex thinks, his head snapped to the left. A sharp, stinging pain jolted around his cheek. His eyes widened.
“You used Hook!
You used Jab!”
Alex's head snapped backwards; blood trickled from his nose. He stumbled a bit as his back hit the stalls.
“You used Hook!”
Alex fell to the floor. A few blood drops stained the floor.
“Quest Complete!
Quest: Defeat Alex Jones (1/1).
Rewarded Silver Card!”
Ryan exited the bathroom, leaving Alex on the floor.
“Reveal.”
Ryan said as he walked back to class.
“Silver Card
Title: Rage!
Description: Your stats increased for a shortened time (5 minutes). Intelligence decreases.
Cooldown: Once Per Day*”
Rage? His stats increase for a bit? This is his first time he ever got a card like this. Well, he’s just starting, of course, but it’s really a good card. He glanced at the new information. Cooldown? Cards can have cooldowns? He has to use this for a crucial time.
[Few hours later]
School had finally ended. Ryan is walking home; his thoughts suddenly interrupted.
“Are you Ryan Anderson?”
A tall, fat person asked; he was wearing a different uniform. Ryan looked at him; he noticed that he didn’t go to his school due to his uniform.
“Yeah, that’s me.”
Ryan looked at him.
“My boss told me to bring you.”
The person said.
“Just come quietly.”
The person started to turn and walk. Ryan stood there.
“What if I don’t want to?”
Ryan said confidently. The person stopped.
“I see you.”
Ryan said.
“I see what? I didn’t know I was your type.
Harold Kingston
Age: ?
Height: ?
Strength: B
Endurance: B-
Speed: C-
Potential: B
Intelligence: C+”
Harold patted his belly.
“You should’ve listened to me.
New Quest!
Quest: Beat Harold Kingston (0/1)
Reward: Silver Card”
Harold punches Ryan on the cheek. His cheek jiggled from the impact; he fell down on the floor. It hurt like hell. His hand trembled as he touched his nose; it was bleeding. He stood up and charged.
“You used Hook!”
Ryan punched and landed squared in Harold’s face. Ryan grinned. His grin faltered as Harold was unscathed and unamused. He ate his punch.
“What’s this weakling punch? Did you really beat Myles with this?”
Spit spew from Ryan’s mouth; he was gasping for air. He kneeled on the floor, clenching his stomach.
“You’re really weak.”
Harold said while laughing. He punched Ryan’s face with a devastating blow.
Thud!
Ryan fell on the floor, his vision getting blurry.
“Warning! Warning! Failure to complete the quest will terminate the system!”
The notification echoed throughout his head. Was he really going to lose? He couldn’t afford to lose. He trembled as he stood up, his knees shaking.
“Rage!”
Ryan gritted.
“You used Rage!
Ryan Anderson
Strength: C (Up+)
Endurance: B- (Up+)
Speed: C (Up+)
Potential: S
Intelligence: C+ (Down-)”
Ryan charged at Harold. Harold’s eyes widen as he sees an increase in speed.
“You used Hook!”
Harold felt a sharp sting on his cheek.
“You bastard! That stung!”
Harold threw a punch, but Ryan dodged in a whim.
“You used Hook! Critical Hit!”
Ryan’s punched connected with Harold’s solar plexus, and Harold stumbled back, clenching his chest. He gasped for air.
“You used Jab! You used Jab! You used Jab...”
Ryan’s jabs connected with Harold’s face.
“Jab levelled up! F - E!”
Ryan stopped his pummeling as he saw the notification. His jab levelled up? He clenched his fists.
“You used Jab!”
Ryan’s eyes widen as he sees his shirt. His shirt was being clenched by Harold.
“You lost. Why’d you stop punching dumbass?”
Harold lifted Ryan up. He slammed him down at the concrete sidewalk. Ryan's vision blurred immediately. Blood spewed from his mouth.
”Rage ended! Stats reverted!”
Harold snickered and raised his fists.
“Say goodbye.”
