“Ah. Boy, you’re here. Come on in.”
Mr. Ruthford said he walked back inside his house as Ryan followed after. He could see Mr. Ruthford’s giant muscular back. Mr. Ruthford sat down and gestured for Ryan to do the same.
“Where Jaelyn?”
Ryan said as he sat down. He looked everywhere, but she was nowhere to be found.
“She’s not here, boy.”
Mr. Ruthford said as he leaned back; he put his foot atop the coffee table.
“Mind me, boy. But you look very nerdy and weak.”
Ryan fled from the insult. He’s fidgeting with his hands.
“Not at all, sir. I think I’m pretty strong.”
Ryan simply replied; Mr. Ruthford sat there for a few moments. He started to laugh.
“Prove it then, boy!”
Mr. Ruthford snickered; he intertwined his fingers as he leaned closer.
“How?”
Ryan asked; he gulped nervously. Mr. Ruthford stood up. He snickered.
“Punch me, boy.”
Mr. Ruthford said it with a hint of seriousness. He waited for Ryan to attack.
“You used Hook!”
Ryan’s eyes widened as his punch was stopped by a finger. Mr. Ruthford grins and cracks his neck.
“Told you. You’re weak, boy. Go home. You don’t deserve my daughter, boy.”
Mr. Ruthford said with a hint of seriousness; Ryan blushed a little as he pulled back his fist.
“W-what? Who said anything about that?”

Ryan’s cheeks were a little red. Mr. Ruthford laughed.
“You have it written all over your face, boy.”
Mr. Ruthford sat back down as he leaned back on the couch. Ryan clenched his fist and looked at him directly in the eyes.
“Mr. Ruthford. Please help me get stronger! I like your daughter! And I want to protect her!”
Ryan clenched his fist so hard that his knuckles turned white, his cheeks getting into a deep shade of red as he shut his eyes. Mr. Ruthford burst out laughing.
“Oh wait? You’re serious?“
Mr. Ruthford asked as he settled down his laugh. He crossed his arms.
“Come next week, boy. That’s when your summer break starts.”
Mr. Ruthford said; Ryan nodded and exited the house. He’s a bit disheartened that he couldn’t hang out, but oh well. He still had 5 “Growth Cards," but he didn’t know whom to use them. He could use it on himself, Myles, or Kenneth. He decides to use it on himself.
“Using 5 Growth Cards...

[2 Days Later]
It was Monday, the last week of school. He walked to school; he reached the big black metal school gates. He sighed and entered the school. He needs to take down the South next; the North is last.
[3 Hours Later]
Ryan is in the meeting room. He walked towards the whiteboard.
“Summer is approaching. We need to take down Charles Lee. During summer, I want all of you guys to train really hard. Frank, you can train as well, but it’s not required. Myles, Johan, and Kenneth. This is our last meeting; we will grow stronger in the 2-month break. I have high expectations. I, as well, will train.”
Ryan said as he grabbed his backpack and slung it over his shoulder.
“I’m only training just to beat Charles. Not because you asked. Just remember.”
Johan said; he glanced to the side.
"Also, can’t your meeting room be somewhere else instead of this shitty school? I don’t want to keep walking here for your meetings.”
Johan said harshly as he leaned back on the chair.
[Few Hours Later]
Ryan is at home. He turned in his project a few hours ago. Ryan’s phone suddenly rings. He jolts out of bed and answers the call.
“Hello?!”
Ryan said in a panicked tone; it was Frank.
“Sir! Sir! The South is on the move! They’re currently infiltrating our territories. Kenneth, Myles, and Johan are currently defending our territories. We need your help!”
Frank exclaimed over the phone. Ryan hung up and proceeded to head out the door. He bolted out to the West. He was stopped as a group of students blocked his way.
“Move out my way!”
Ryan yelled; the students charged at him.
“You used Aikido!”
Ryan threw them around like they were ragdolls. He slammed some of them onto the concrete floor. He finished all of them; he continued running to the territories.
Beep!
“New Quest!
Quest: Defend Your Territories (0/3)!
Reward: Diamond Card“
Ryan gritted his teeth as he ran even faster. Ryan reached the territory. His eyes widened when he saw Kenneth being pushed back. Blood is gushing down his face; he’s still grinning. Ryan quickly bolted and joined the fight. He grabbed their wrists and threw them onto the floor.
“Ah, boss! You’re here. I didn’t need your help.”
Kenneth snickered; Ryan rolled his eyes and grinned. Kenneth and Ryan started to push out the South’s forces. Blood was flying everywhere.
Beep!
“Quest: Defend Your Territories (2/3)!”
Johan and Myles must’ve defended the incoming wave. Ryan finally defeated the last student.
“Quest Complete!
Quest: Defend Your Territories (3/3)!
Reward: Diamond Card”
Ryan grinned as he finally completed the quest. He wiped the sweat beads and mumbled.
“Reveal
Diamond Card!
Title: Drain
Description: Drain some of the opponent’s stats. Used at your own risk.”
Ryan stumbled backward as he read the description. He can steal the opponent’s stats, but why’s there a risk?
“Boss, I’ll be heading back.”
Kenneth said as he walked out of the battlefield. Ryan looked at one of the students. He touched the student’s unconscious body.
“You used Drain!”
A few moments passed; he immediately took off his hand as he saw the student’s body growing visibly weaker. He stumbled down on his ass. He looked at his hand, which was shaking; this was scary. He decides to head back home.
[Next Day]
He’s at school; he’s still shaken from the “Drain” card. The teacher's lecture drones out in the background.
[Few Hours Later]
Ryan is at home as he receives a notification from Frank. He looks at it, and his eyes widen.
“Boss! I called a truce with the South for two months.”
Ryan responded with a simple “Okay.” He put his phone away. It’s time.
