They started towards the next set of golem monsters, thinking of using the same tactic as before.
This time there were two warriors and one mage and one rogue, but there was something strange about the mage, it looked like it had spouts instead of spikes and what appeared to be steam were leaking out of it.
“Damn, those are even uglier than the last.”
Louie agreed but pointed at them.
“Yea, but do you see the difference, that Zippy has 4 wheels and it has morningstars for arms instead of knives like the last, there are two fighters and one of them have two swords, the other one was a classic sword and board, but my big worry is that bugger with the steam coming out of it. Do you think it might be a fire mage?”
“I agree I think that Sher must take out the mage first, shot it in the head with one of your power shots. If you can shoot it twice then do that.”
“I agree, destroying the head don’t kill them but it looks like is take away their ability to see and it confuses them, might be a holdover from the Human life force that was used to create them.”
Joe studied the space carefully. “I just wish we had something to channel them and make a bottleneck. Aaah well I will just curl up here behind the shield and as zippy rush passed I will try to surprise it.”
Louie smacked his forehead.
“I forgot, I have
Louie moved back and concentrated on forming a two-meter thick waist-high wall and tried to invoke
Immediately he got a blinding headache and nothing happens.
He tried again but scaled the wall down and the same happened again.
“Damn, it won’t work.”
Sher looked worried as she asked him. “What are you trying to do? Remember it’s a level one spell, so start small and go bigger till you reach your limit.”
Louie relaxed and thanked Sher. “Ok, start small work your way up.”
He concentrated on activating the spell and holding it back till he felt the power build, like water pressure stretching a balloon.
He imagined a spike made of stone and slowly releases the mana so it flowed into the image in his mind, holding the image he imagined a spike slowly rising out of the floor at his feet.
Suddenly the floor rippled and a solid stone spike as thick as his leg and wickedly sharp rose out of the ground.
He imagined the spike slowly broadens and transform like wet clay till it formed a wall three meters long a meter high and sixty centimetres thick.
Ten minutes later he stumbled backwards as he released his Manaworking.
< Mana Manipulation = unlocked>
“Damn that drained nearly all my mana, this is not going to be something that I will be able to do and just walk away from, but the spell is only level one, so it might get a little easier when the spell gets a higher level. I’m just going to rest here a while, then doing the other wall and trap.”
He sat down with his back against the freshly raised wall. He remembered that the one or two Litrpg books, as JOE called them, that he read, mentioned that meditation will replenish the mana faster.
So he sat up straight and started meditating.
Breath in. . . Goodness, love, happiness, Sunshine.
Breath out. . . anger, hate, RAGE, let it go.
In. . . love. . . Out. . . Hate
In. . Out. . In . . Out . . In . . Out .
The notification jerked him out of his trance.
The 25% of Mana regeneration that the
He moved back and started on the next wall keeping a two-meter gap between the two through they hope to lure the golems.
This time he took it slower, used less Mana and less pressure build-up, trying to streamline the process.
Immediately he felt the difference as building the wall flowed smoother than before.
He build the same wall but formed a thin meter high curtain wall on top of the regular wall to obscure what lay behind, then he took another rest and meditate.
Again receiving a
After nearly three hours of building and meditating the job was done, they had a hole 3cubic meters deep with a sturdy wall in front and a very thin wall, about 10centemeres thick, connecting with the front.
After working with the floor a bit, they were ready.
Sher sneaked as close as safely possible and took her stance.
She took a deep breath, aimed and releases an imbued Powershot that practically disintegrated the mage’s head.
The Golems roared as the mage stumbled around like a drunkard.
They spun around and Zippy no2 rushed toward her.
She took off as fast as she could, heading straight for the gap in the walls.
Anybody that saw the videos on youtube of the trucks that hit those vehicle pop up barriers will know what happened to Zippy as one suddenly popped up in front of it.
It took a mighty faceplant and rolled behind the wall, pieces flying everywhere.
Joe brought his axe down right below where its ribcage ended, severing its spine and nearly cutting it in half, and he then took off its head and kick the twitching body aside.
He had just prepared himself again when the first Golem fighter armed with two swords came through the gap.
He used
Joe took two steps back to force the golem to step up into the gap and so limiting its ability to move freely.
As soon as the golem went past the hole Loo had hidden himself in like a trapdoor spider, he jumped out and rushed the downed mage.
With an overhead swing of his mace, he smashed it into the ground before retreating to the Gap where Joe was facing off against the last Golem fighter.
He clearly remembered the spike to the shoulder when he tried to take out the lightning mage and he had felt the cold fog that was leaking from the nozzles on the golem mage.
Not steam, ice vapours, bloody frost mage.
He had barely reached a couple of feet away from the downed mage when a barrage of ice spikes erupted from the nozzles of the Frost mage, luckily none hit him.
He sneaked up on the Fighter and saw that it was heavily reinforced on its back as if it was expected a mace between the shoulders like it previous comrade, he took a wild swing and hit it at the back of its right knee, before moving out of its reach as it swung around to face him for which Joe immediately punished it by taking the right leg off at the same knee.
The golem lost its right-hand sword as it tried to stop its fall, trapping it under its body.
Immediately Joe and Louie smashed its head in and removed its left arm at the elbow.
They hit it a couple of times to move it away from its downed sword before smashing its chest piece to remove the core.
They looked at the still twitching Zippy before Joe went to work with his axe where Louie indicated he should strike, Louie inventoried two Morningstars and a small chassis with four bubble wheels before removing its core and then they went to the golem in the hole.
Joe saw Sher shoot another Powershot at the mage before she joined them at the hole.
Looking in they saw the golem trying to smash its way out of the hole by trying to destroy the walls.
Louie shook his head.
“They are not very bright.” He waited till it charged the wall again before he softened it and as its shield penetrated the wall he made it solid again trapping the shield and arm.
It roared and tried to stab the wall with its sword and Louie trapped the sword next.
Then he made the floor soft and trapped its feet as it sunk into the soft stone.
He sculpted holes in the wall that they used to get down and dismantled the golem before inventoried the weapons and harvesting the core.
Walking towards the Mage they kept a safe distance as it sporadically shot out ice spears in random directions.
Joe looked at it with a frown on his face. “Are there anything that you want on that thing or can Sher just shoot it to pieces?”
“I don’t know, I looked at those spikes from the lightning mage and I think that it is a solid unit, it has a small mana crystal at the back that I think charge the spike. If I’m correct then I think that the nozzles on that thing are also a separate unit."
The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.
He saw the realization surface in Joe’s eyes.
“Jip, think Steampunk pistols firing ice lances.”
Joe laughed. “Damn that’s crazy, now how do we get it from him.”
They ended up with Sher shooting it till it stopped shooting ice and they moved in cautiously before Joe started chopping all around the nozzles into the metal body of the golem before removing the nozzles and harvesting the core they cleared up the space, inventory every scrap piece that was laying around before they looted the Golems

Loot Golems Y\N Defeated enemies can be looted. If you choose not to loot the body then you can harvest the components.
Loot received 40S halves, 12G Rounds each
4 bags of tricks: bags with odds and ends
6 Iron bars: six plain iron bars
2 Steel bars: two bars of plain steel
8 Golem pieces: six pieces of the killed Golems.
“Whoo ho, levelled up again!” both Joe and Sher gave a little happy dance.
Louie laughed while he checked the loot.
“Ok, it’s the same stuff except we got two steel bars, instead of Iron, that I think came from the Mage.”
Two hours later after repairing the trap multiple times and taking down four more golem teams it was decided that they would move the staging area closer to the patrolling area of the next golems because it was getting too far for Sher to kite them into the trap.
They did their stats and then moved to the next site where they would create the ambush.
“it’s going to take too long to prepare a new trap, so I think I’m going a different direction, I’m thinking of making a lot of beach ball size holes about sixty centimetres apart making their footing bad, they will have to watch their step the whole time the only one with high agility are the Rogues and the holes will put a spanner in the works.”
They looked sceptical but agreed to give the plan a try.
“Don’t worry I will be there to help, I’m going to stay behind Joe and that will bring the fighters into the ten-meter range of
“Ok I will try to hold their agro and you can take them out, it’s just the mage that worries me. Sher, can you take out the mage again?”
“Ok, First thing," she agreed.
They had a team fistbump.
“Ok let’s do this.”
They moved into a position where they were going to make a stand and Louie started creating the holes all-around them, about an hour later they moved a bit closer to have a look at the monsters.
There was the usual two-wheel rogue that looked like a robot mounted on a segway and covered in a black tinfoil cape with knives for hands, then the two fighters of which one was armed with a massif double-bladed battle axe and then the mage, this mage was different, it looked like an anorectic mechanical drider.
Golem Dark Mage This Golem bathed in the Darkness that was the soul of the creature whose life force shaped this form as it came into existence.
There is darkness in every soul, especially yours
“Shit it’s a Dark Mage, that might be a problem, what do you know about Dark magic in games Joe?”
“That could be a problem, did you see the jewel it has on its forehead, I bet that is its core and that would be a stupid place to put a core. It’s as if the dungeon has the concept of what a dungeon should be but has no idea how to pull it off. Has that
“No. but come to think about it, all these golems are pretty stupid, and I think it’s because these dungeons are so new, I bet we are the first persons to enter a Dungeon since the Pulse, this might be a learning curve for the Dungeon also, and about the mage, we must just make sure to take it out first.”
They moved back to the site of their ambush and after Sher took a couple of practice runs they were ready.
Louie waited for Sher halfway between the ambush site and her spot where she planned to take out the mage.
He prepared the ground as she went to take her shots.
Everything went as planned, the first shot hit the mage just as it started to turn and took off half its face, while the golems roared and stumbled around looking for the attacker, the second shot took the mage in the neck decapitating it.
Immediately a dark fog surrounded the collapsed mage.
Sher spun around and raced towards where she could see Joe in the distance, the Rogue was hot on her tail.
As she went past Louie he started to follow her and when he noticed the Rogue entering his range he flashed
They moved back to Joe and waited for the arrival of the fighters. Everything went better than expected, the fighter with the axe stopped to try and remove the rogue from the trap.
The other one stomped up to Joe, it planted its huge Tower shield on the ground which immediately swallowed its legs and halve its shield, trapping it.
Sher went around its back and shot it in its head as Joe went around his left-hand side and took its shield arm off at the shoulder, Louie went around the other side and dodging its blind wild swipes he took of its arm at the wrist before they walked up towards the other Golem with the axe.
As they came near the golem, it gave up trying to break the concrete floor to release the rogue and turned towards them, when it took the first step it fell forwards as it stumbled in the suddenly liquid floor and buried halve of its axe as the ground turned solid again.
Joe shook his head as he looked at Louie.
“Why are we here again? It looks like you can clear this dungeon on your own. That
At the end of the day, they had destroyed four more sets of golems as they reached the end of the colossal workshop.
They decided to look through the huge open door to see what the hell was making such a racket.
Sounds like somebody are killing cats over there.
They wanted to know what they will face next before called it a night.
They sneaked into a smaller room, about 30 by 30 meters and in the middle was a strange sight, there was a strange eight-foot-tall Golem and what appeared to be its Dog, and it was arguing and trying to fight with itself.
“Damn its Lockjaw.”
Louie gave him a puzzled look. “Who?”
“Ow, I forgot that was after your time, that sounds strange, it’s a Transformer Dog.”
Transformer Dog. Like the cartoon Transformers?
Louie shook his head, later for that.
Golem Gemini (Mini-Boss) Two Golems conjoined back to back. Like sibling they can never agree on one thing, one chose the warrior class while the other the Bard class.
Isn’t brotherly love grand?
Louie shared the BB with Joe and Sher.
“Bloody hell. A bard? Is that wailing supposed to be Thunderstruck from AC/DC? That thing is murdering it.”
All of a sudden three long streams of flames shot out of the pipes and hit the roof.
“Aaand, of course, it’s playing a set of flaming Bagpipes. Well, there goes the chance of sneaking up on it from behind.”
Suddenly the dog nipped at the Golem’s leg when it stepped on its paw.
The golem spun around and kicked the dog across the room and into the wall where it laid broken and whimpering.
Joe and Sher looked on in shock as Louie jumped up with a roar and stormed the golem.
“Louie! what the fuck are you doing?” Joe screamed as he and Sher jumped up to support him.
Louie had just taken a couple of steps when the red mist cleared from his vision
Shit, what the fuck is wrong with me, damn, I'm already in the kak, so its sink or swim.
The only thing that saved his life was the fact that the two golems could not agree on who should be in charge of the fight.
He brought his mace down on the right shoulder of the bard severely damaging it.
The bard threw its head back and roared, which saved it as Sher's PowerShot tore through half of its face.
This gave the warrior the chance to turn towards Louie who got a backhand smash from the shield sending him flying and then sliding across the floor till he ended up next to the whimpering dog.
Louie groaned as he struggled to get up.
He saw the dog whimpering as it looked at him and all Louie saw was a hurt dog, not a golem, just a hurt dog.
He remembered that the golems can regenerate if their cores are not removed.
He reached into his inventory and dropped a steel bar next to its face as he stumbled towards the fight.
"Here boy, eat up."
Louie came up behind Joe and tried to use Earth manipulation when he noticed that the floor was covered with metal.
"Damn this floor is metal, I cant use my spell."
"Yeah, I noticed that. What the fuck was that move, Louie? You owe us an explanation, go help Sher, I will hold here but Sher can't keep dodging the flames."
He knew that the only way to help Sher was to take out the Bard with the flamethrower bagpipes or at least the bagpipes themselves.
He moved away so he could face the golem from the side and took out his Naginata, having never used it before he had no idea what it could do but remembering the
He started by performing kata and visualising his Mana as a pool in his chest that he started to rotate into a slow-moving vortex.
Concentrating hard he struggled to tease two tendrils of fog-like mana down both arms towards the naginata, the pain was excruciating but he endured as he forced the tendrils down his arms creating pathways for the mana to flow, nearly the same as he did while using
As he performed the last downwards slash he screamed in pain as the mana burned through the channels down his arms, releasing all the mana through the channels and into the blade.
Out rushed an explosive wave of air so sharp it seems to cut the air itself.
The airblade impacted the side of the golem and cut through the bag of the bagpipes and severed the already damaged arm of the bard.
There was a huge explosion as the fire mana in the bag was released into the air.
Sher screamed as the air around the golem enveloped Joe, then exploded, throwing him across the room.
"Shit!"
Louie rushed to the golem and charging his weapon again he smashed it into its chest as he released the airblade, cutting right through both of the golems.
Louie tore their cores from them before he rushed over to the crying Sher where she crouched next to the badly burned Joe.
"I could only use
Louie gave Sher the last two of his healing potions to give Joe.
"These potions are crap but better than nothing, we must get him back to the restroom and the vendor, there are better potions available."
He removed a big dolly that he took earlier the day from his inventory and carefully lifted Joe onto it and started running with him back to the restroom.
They got a loot notification as they left the room but they didn't even bother with the scrap parts of the golems that were laying around after the explosion, they only had one objective and that was to get Joe to the vendor and some healing potions.
He had burns covering nearly 80percent of his body his army uniform was burned to a crisp, the shield saved him from any shrapnel but could do nothing to stop the air itself from igniting as he was practically right next to the golem as the bag exploded.
It felt as if Louie was dipped in ice water as he knew that Joe was injured due to his stupid actions, again his Rage has caused harm to others.
"Sorry Joe, just hang in there buddy.”
Friend, yes you are my friend if after this you want to be friends then so be it. It's been a long time since I had many friends, maybe it's time I stop chasing them away.
They rushed through the colossal space, luckily they have already killed off all the golems so there was nothing to impede them.
As they neared the safe zone Sher ran ahead to get the potion from the vendor.
Louie stopped in front of the door and carefully lifted Joe from the dolly and princess carried him through the door, making sure not to bump his head or legs against the door frame.
Sher was there as he went through the door to pore a light pink potion into Joe's mouth and massaged his throat till he swallowed.
Immediately, the tension left Joe as he fell into a deep sleep.
He went and laid Joe down on one of the beds.
Slowly the burnt skin started to flake away and new skin was revealed, they watched anxiously as the skin healed over the stump but did not regrow the missing wrist and hand.
"Shit."
