Chapter 24 Dungeon??

Louie looked around as they entered the building and smell all the people crowding the hallways.

"You will soon have a big problem. With so many people, you will have to do something about hygiene, though. This is a plague waiting to happen."

"I know,"

DD said, taking him to a different section of the school building. "I would like you to meet somebody, but be warned, he is a bit strange, and he insists on being called Mr Jones. . . he has a fear of getting dirty, I think he called it Mysophobia. He got a spell the moment he read Gaea's message. It is a spell that clean a whole room and everything in it. We made a deal with him, we stuff a room with people, and he cast his spell, and he gets a whole room for himself. But it gets tough. There are too many people now."

As Louie walked, he thought about the problem for a couple of minutes before coming up with an idea.

"Hmm. . . if he can help me, then I might have a solution to your hygiene problem."

As they entered the classroom, Louie saw a man sitting in the middle of the room slumped in a chair. He was dressed in what looked like one of those white bodysuits they use when working with asbestos.

DD asked the next group of people who wanted to enter the room, to give them a moment, and to wait in the hallway.

Louie found it ironic that Mr Jones was dressed in a full-body suit, but one of his gloves was off to cast his spell.

DD introduced Louie to Mr Jones, who looked rundown although really clean.

He insisted on casting refresh on them before shaking Louie's hand.

A tingle went through Louie, and he looked at his hands and clothes. He noticed that they looked cleaner than the day Sher had cast on him.

He was surprised at how much better he felt like he had just drunk a big cup of coffee. Even his teeth felt like they'd just been brushed.

"Wow."

He explained what he was thinking and how he thought Mr Jones could help and that if it worked, it would save Mr Jones a lot of time and mana. They agreed to give it a try.

Louie took his workbench out of his inventory, and seeing their astonishment, he told them that he had a chest of holding that he bought from the vendor.

Well, I'm not lying. I did buy a couple of chests from the vendor.

Louie took his chest of traps from his inventory and placed it on the workbench. Removing 12 of the twenty concussion traps he got from the spider lair and the dungeon's minefield.

He dismantled the traps by removing the trigger mechanisms and the small spell storage crystal.

He had Mr Jones cast on the crystals, replacing the spells with .

He then placed the mechanism in a stone sculpture, ensuring that none of the moving parts was blocked. Inserting the spell storage crystal, he ensured that the sculpture triggered when he jostled it.

He replaced the spell storage crystal and swapped the sculptor's mana stone for mana crystals to make double sure he asked Mr Jones to cast on the whole sculpture again while he used .

The new Sculpture looked like one of those Venus figurines that they said were from the Palaeolithic era.

Sculpture of Prestidigitation

If this device is touched, the aura of the target will trigger the stored spell and release a burst that instantaneously cleans all objects in a radius no larger than 20 meters. Just like a Mother's touch, it will clean up after you.

Cooldown period 30 seconds

Louie shared the report with DD and Mr Jones.

"You can have five. Place them where you want, but I would suggest you place one in each school restroom. That way, they can still use the toilets and just trigger it after every use."

Louie sat deep in thought as DD and Mr Jones thanked him for the artefacts.

"I think I have a solution for your food preservation, but it might be very dangerous. As I said, the basis of this artefact is a concussion trap, so we changed the spell in the storage crystal from a to a , and we got the sculpture."

"I got a device that generates an ice spell that I can use to charge the storage crystal. That will change the concussion trap to an ice blast trap that you can place in your walk-in freezers. This is the dangerous part. It will only send out an ice wave if somebody touches it."

It took a while before DD caught what he meant.

"The person that triggers the trap will be frozen."

Louie nodded. "Yes, and you can't try to trigger it with a stick or something, from what I understand of the device. It must be alive, so if you want to throw it with a cat or mouse from ten meters away, that will work, but it will be frozen solid."

"Damn, Ok, can you make me two? But deactivate them and show me how to activate them. We might think of something that might work later."

Louie agreed and took an ice mage nozzle out of his inventory and charge the two spell storage crystals. He asked Mr Jones to cast on the traps while he cast

Artic kiss

When this device is touched, the aura of the target will trigger the stored spell and release a burst that will create an ice wave that freezes all in diameter no larger than 52 cubic meters. Effect last 24hours

Kill all bacteria in the area of effect

Cooldown period 24hours

Louie carefully removed the mana crystals and created a small stone table with a hole for the trap to fit in.

The mana crystal can be removed or fitted without touching the top or sides of the trap.

"Be very, very careful with these traps. Place them in the middle of your walk-ins. I don't want to know how you are going to trigger them, but if ever I find out that you use humans to trigger them, I will come here and burn this place to the ground."

Suddenly it felt as if one of the traps was triggered

DD nodded. "Understood."

"Good, Mr Jones. It was a pleasure meeting you." Louie shook his hand and placed everything back in his inventory, and as they returned to the hall, he felt being triggered twice.

He knew it was childish but he smiled as he thought that he had caught Mr Jones unaware by shaking his hand.

They stopped at two more places to close the courtyards and also sunk a well in each. He also made cisterns under each downspout that he found.

The last courtyard he closed off, but he removed the concrete layer, leaving only the bare earth for those who want to make a garden.

It was nearly 16:00 according to his system clock when he had finished making a couple of bridges to the nearby school buildings' roofs.

He knew that the sun will set just after 19:00, which still gives him some time to check out the basement and find the stuff he needed for his caravan.

When they got back to the hall, they found Sally in a sombre mood, and the other med student was in tears.

The children mobbed BOB, who resigned to his fate, just plopped down on the ground and rolled over on his back to keep the young ones away from his spines, allowing them to crawl all over him.

Louie turned to Sally and the medic. "What's going on here? Why are you crying?"

She started crying harder and mumbling something in her tissues. Louie glanced at Sally.

Sally answered, "She unlocked a class."

Loo knew something was wrong because they should be happy to unlock a class. This would make it much easier for them seeing as they are indentured for ten years.

Louie raised his eyebrow inquiringly at Sally.

"It's not the class she wanted. Looks like she still had a bunch of medicine and pills from the stock that the doctors used, so she started helping the people that complained about pains, and after a while, she unlocks the class."

Sally elbowed the medic.

Louie crouched down till he was at eye level with the young woman. "What's your name?" She gives another sniff. "Mainey Fish."

Louie handed her another tissue from the box at her side.

"So Mainey, why are you upset, and why don't you like your class?"

She sniffed again. "I wanted to be a Doctor, a Healer, not a paramedic." She sobbed as she sends him a BB.

She started crying harder as Louie smiled.

"Wow." He placed his hand on her shoulder. "No, I mean wow, that's a great class."

She gave him a sceptical look through her tears.

He shook his head. "It is. Everybody thinks that being a magical healer is so great. Still, if you unlock a heal spell naturally, you can use it without knowing medicine and stuff. When anybody can use it, it's nothing special. But this class is special because it's so near to what a true doctor can do. You use X-rays to look for broken bones, you stitch wounds, you do minor surgeries, and then you dispense medicine. I think that you should think about getting an alchemist or herbalist subclass so you can make your own salves and potions for your medkit." He smiled at her.

"Congratulations, Mainey Fish, on getting a great Class."

The squad around her applauded her for her class.

He removed one of the cleaning sculptors from his inventory and placed it on the table. "This is for you. It will make a good addition to your medkit."

She gave him a puzzled look.

"Touch it." He smiled as she blushed beet red. But she reached out and touched the artefact, and a wave of pulsed through the hall.

There were shouts of surprise as everybody around the table was suddenly clean and feeling refreshed.

"Thank you, Sir."

'Damn, another Sir.'

Louie stood up as she inventoried the artefact.

"Ok, let's go check out the basement, I still need to find a couple of caravans and some medical books, and then we must still get home before dark."

As they walked from the hall, Kallie wanted to know. "Caravans and Medical books? Why do you need caravans and Medical books?"

On their way to the kitchen, Louie told him of his plans for a trading caravan. He needed about six caravans that can be pulled by spiders and the books he needs for people who wanted to unlock the healer class through store-bought healer cubes.

Kallie stopped him. "Come with me."

They reach a hallway that was much less crowded, and Louie could hear someone hammering on metal.

"You got a blacksmith?"

Kallie waved his hand from side to side, indicating So So.

"A lot of kids were back in the dorms ready for school. We have nearly a full class of metalworkers. They are trying to unlock all different kinds of classes. But it is what's in there that I want to show you."

They entered a big room. It looked more like the workshop in the Golem Dungeon.

Against the one wall were stacked lathes and milling machines, nearly everything that was needed to teach from would-be boilermakers to gunsmiths about metalwork. Since everything was electric, none of it was working and it was all moved to the one wall, making space for the blacksmiths with their forges.

What caught Louie's eye was the four large caravans that were parked against one wall.

"Kallie, what are you doing here? Who are these people?"

Louie turned to the person with a gruff voice. "Mr Fourie, his is Louie, he needs those caravans. Louie, this is Mr Fourie. He is currently in charge of the metal shop."

The teacher just shook his head at Louie while giving Kallie the stink eye.

"My students are using them for sleeping quarters."

He turned around to leave when Louie stopped him.

"Mr Fourie, I'm Louie Poren, I need those four caravans, and I'm willing to swap for them."

He saw the teacher waver before he shook his head. "There is nothing that you can give me that will let me give you the homes of my students."

The student all perked up as they tried to listen in on the discussion.

"Are you sure about that?" Louie smiled as he removed his workbench from his inventory.

He looked around and spotted a 2centemeter thick one-meter by one-meter steel plate.

He walked over and, picking the plate up, placed it on the bench with one corner sticking over the edge.

He took out one of the engraving kits, and like a showman, he removed the engraving pen from the kit and set it to its strongest setting. By now, all the students were looking at what was going on at the workbench.

Louie then proceeded to cut the plate into a big oval shape. Adjusting the setting, he started to cut a groove in the face of the oval, carving the word metal shop in a simple cursive script linking it with the first rune he learned from the EBFD. (Engraving Book for Dummies) the rune for light.

He cut two holes in the top for the sign to hang.

He then filled the script with some crushed mana powder and used . At the same time, he channelled his mana into the powder filling the grooves.

Louie stood back so that the teacher can see the end results.

The students were practically drooling on the floor.

The teacher shrugged. "So you made a neon sign for my metal shop. So what?"

He looked around as one of the students dropped a piece of metal and stared at the stupid things the teacher just said.

The student shook his head and turned around, walking away.

"What? It's just a sign?"

Kallie stepped up to the man. "Mr Fourie, you are an idiot. Things like this are why you never got the position of metal shop teacher."

Louie spoke up, "That is a 'magical' sign, and this is an engraving kit for somebody that would like to learn 'magical' engraving." He used words he thought the teacher might understand because for a teacher Mr Fourie seemed a bit slow on the uptake.

Louie turned to the students. "In exchange for the vehicles." He waved at the vehicles in the back of the class. "I will give you this kit with the starter book plus one kit of each of these, Wood Starter Toolkit for Carpenters and Metal Starter Toolkit for Blacksmith, together with this mana-powered metal lathe and woodworking lathe. And by mana powered, I mean that you won't need electricity to work them. All these items are either system generated or bought from a system shop."

As he listed the items, he placed them next to the workbench and switched the two lathes on.

While they looked through the tools like kids unwrapping their Christmas gifts, Louie took his coffee machine out and pour himself a cup.

Mr Fourie realised that he had lost the fight, and if he didn't want to lose his students, he would have to step in and save what he could.

He turned to Louie, and his jaw nearly hit the floor.

"Is that coffee?" He inhaled deeply. "That's coffee. Where did you get fresh coffee?"

Louie looked at the teacher. "This?" He indicated the coffee machine.

He took a mug out of his inventory and slowly filled it up as he talked.

"Didn't I mention that this magical mana-powered coffee machine with its endless supply of delicious fresh brewed coffee is also included in the deal?"

Louie handed him the cup of steaming coffee and saw the resistance crumble.

He smiled. The battle was won with a cup of coffee.

Louie left Mr Fourie with his coffee and moved all the stuff over to one of the other tables before he inventoried his bench.

They moved to the caravans. He saw that the four were older caravans but still solid, not that it mattered. Two were 1990 models gypsey 4s, and one was a 97 model 4B the last one was a double axle Jurgens.

Louie took some stone blocks out of his inventory and stored all the caravans, including the two cars covered under tarpaulins. Just to make sure, Louie shouted at Mr Fourie.

"You happy with the deal for all the vehicles?"

The teacher just waved them away while he lovingly cradled his new machine and drank his cup of coffee.

Louie stared at the rest of the vehicles. He remembered Joe telling him about a book he read where the MC sold cars on an auction to fund their expansion, he shrugged and inventoried all the vehicles clearing the space as he liquified the stone.

He raised two twenty-bed barracks with two mana lanterns each. They were all too absorbed in their new toys to even respond as Kallie, together with Louie and his squad left the metal shop.

"As for the medical books, there is a nursing college about a kilometre down the road, but it's a big place. You would need a day or two to clear it out."

Louie looked disappointed. "Damn, we don't have time for that."

Kallie volunteered his people to go clear the college and gather the books. Louie studied Kallie and thought of his people.

"Your guys are mostly Level 2 and 3. I'm going to ask Johan at the Fort to send a team, and then you guys can join them. They are mostly Level 5 and 6."

He slapped Kallie on the shoulder. "You will like them. They are a bunch of LARPers."

The door to the basement was next to the kitchen and down the hallway.

It was barricaded with a thick steel hatch that wouldn't have looked out of place on a submarine.

Louie looked at Kallie. "Your work?"

Kallie nodded. He turned to an older man sitting at one of the kitchen tables. "This is uncle Maps. He has been the caretaker here for over 40 years."

"When we got here that first day, we thought we were superman. Hell, the world had just turned into a computer game. We thought we had discovered a Dungeon. From your notes, I now know better."

He looked at the door with fear-filled eyes. "There is something dark and . . . I would say evil at the end of that hallway. We didn't see it, but everything, even the air, felt dirty, and slimy. It's tough to explain, I just knew that we wanted out, so I closed off the hallway and then made this door up here."

"So there is another barricade down there?"

Kallie nodded.

Louie turned to Uncle Maps. "What can you tell us of the basement, Uncle?"

Maps shrugged. "In all my years I have been a caretaker here, I only went as far as the basement door down there. The actual basement is outside the school property. It used to be a WW2 bomb shelter, I just know it's huge, and that there are two more entrances to it on the other side."

"Ok, we will go down to the barricade, and then we will see what's what. Kallie, I want you and one of your healers to come with us."

The stairs led down and then swerve to the right and opened up in a dark hallway that led to the left.

The hallway was just wide enough for five recruits shoulder to shoulder.

Damn, I need grenades to clear places like this basement.

Louie handed out the mana lanterns they got from the nest to the two privates, together with some duck tape "Tape the handles to your spears, hold it as high as possible use your iklwa if you need to fight."

They nodded as they attached the lanterns to their spears.

They were about fifty meters down the hallway when Kallie stopped them at a mark on the wall. "I placed this here. It's ten steps more, then you will start to feel the weirdness."

They had just taken one step when Kallie stopped and spit on the floor. "Damn, it got stronger."

Louie walked up to him, and immediately he felt the difference.

Fuck I know this. The Congo, Shit, Shit, Shit, how is this here?

They found the first body pegged to a tree, a child. The only way to tell it was a girl was by the long hair and a pink ribbon.

She was disembowelled Her stomach was cut away, genitalia was missing. The ribcage was cracked open. All the organs were also gone, as well as the hands and feet. Wooden pegs were hammered through the arms, legs and mouth, crucifying her to the tree. The air smelled like copper and shit. Not the smell of a healthy bowel movement. This was the smell that you got when a sick baby had the runners. A sick smell mixed with the smell of burning herbs and flesh, a burnt pork smell.

But Loo knew there was no burning pork here, it was the second mud village they found in the last two days. The ground was soggy, dark, black, soaked in blood. There were no animal sounds and no sound. They silently moved from tree to tree, moving around the village to see whats going on in the center of the town. Every tree around the village had a mutilated child's body pegged to it.

Louie, wake up, wake up Lewis, LOUIE WAKE UP!

He was back in the hallway, and everybody was standing around him with weapons drawn facing away from him.

Louie was on his hands and knees and next to him was the pixy of a girl, Msizi, Kallie's healer.

"You ok? I tried to heal you, but it didn't work."

Louie sat back on his heels and moved till his back was against the wall.

"Stand down. Nothing attacked me. Just a flashback." He took a couple of big breathes.

Breath in. . . goodness, love, happiness, Sunshine.

Breath out. . . anger, hate, RAGE, let it go.

In. . . love.

Out. . . Hate

In. . . Out. . . Tray.

In . . Out . . In . . Out .

Huh, who is Tray?

Suddenly in his mind, there was a flash of a Woman with a beautiful face and long hair and sad eyes, then it was gone.

Huh?

Louie shook his head to clear the cobwebs before he looked at Kallie and his squad.

"I remember this smell. The last time I smelled this, a lot of people died. A witch doctor was trying to summon a spirit and sacrificed a lot of people and children for muti and the ritual. A Tagati."

There was a couple of indrawn breaths.

"A what?" Kallie asked.

"Tagati is evil witch doctors," Msizi answered.

"Precisely," Loo replied. He looked at the pixy and smiled.

"Msizi, the pixy healer." He wiped his smile away as she looked uncomfortable.

"Sorry." Louie got to his feet. "Ok, let's see what this fucker did down here."

They reached the barricade, and Kallie removed it. The stench and feeling of oppression got worst as they neared the final door to the basement.

They got to the basement door, opening the door a crack, lol snuck a peek into the dark cavernous space. With his he saw an open space but no movement.

They moved in as silently as possible. With his dark vision active, Louie saw something streaking through the air. Before he could react, the creature struck one of the recruits hurling him back through the door.

As he got back up, he got his shield between him and what looked like a bunny.

Louie smiled to himself at first, good experience for the troops, but soon it turned to a frown. The wounds were closing on the creature. In the end, their attack had done little more than anger the bunny.

Anger materialised in the shape of more spitting, hissing and screaming as it tried to claw its way up the spears.

Louie watched as they kept trying. And while they did clearly cause some damage, it was quickly healed. The only thing they achieved was to make the bunny more determined in reaching and killing them.

They pinned the creature against the hallway wall, and he saw that their attacker was a strange rabbit creature with a vicious set of shark-like teeth and that it stank so bad Louie wanted to throw up.

Some of the recruits did.

It shrugged off all their attacks, and Louie had to capture it in a cocoon of stone, only leaving its head free so he could < analyse> the creature.

Abominabunny Level 11

By possessing the horned rabbit, it has become a menace to man and beast. Beware its grin. Survivors speak in fearful whispers of the fate of those said to have seen a cute little bunny amidst all the carnage. Beware and take care, and mind any vast field strewn with bones stripped of flesh!

The Abominabunny may be small and cuddly, but its devilish smile reveals its true infernal nature. Whatever you do, stay far away from this creature.

Wounds dealt by the Abominabunny is hard to heal and tend to fester.

"Damn. It's a Level 11."

Louie shared the notification with everybody. One of the recruits spoke up. "How are we going to kill these things?"

Louie crushed the bunny in stone. But noticed that he didn't get any kill report.

He brought the crushed bunny to the stone surface. Everybody stood back as bones started moving and mending and the body started to pull itself together.

Next, Louie covered it in stone again and tore it apart. The pieces all melted into a stinking red goo which caused the rest to threw up before it compacted and reformed into a complete bunny. BOB rushed in and ripped its head off and tore it apart before swallowing it, the head just reformed from the shoulders, and the bunny was alive again.

Louie quickly captured it in a cocoon of stone.

He brought the stone capsule with them as they moved away from the door.

Louie saw a blinking icon in the right bottom of his vision. When he concentrated on it, a BB opened up.

"Anybody also got a quest?"

He got a couple of nods from the recruits as they looked fearfully at the spiting and hissing creature.

Gaea quest:

The summoned have left the basement, leaving the ritual active, allowing a dark corruption to take hold of the rabbits wandering into the afflicted area!

Infernal beings are filled with rage and always hungry! Kill all possessed rabbits in the area before the horned rabbit population is transformed.

Skinwalker(demon) 0/1

Abominabunny (transformed) 0/20

Rabbidevil (transformed) mini-boss 0/1

Reward: Reputation with surrounding towns based on contribution. Blessed amulet for each member of the party.

1000 experience to each member of the party.

Failure: The area will slowly convert to infernal lands. Animals will be possessed and become much more vicious.

Kallie placed a barricade across the door as they all stood around the cocoon.

"The report says it an infernal that possessed the rabbit. Anybody knows of something to kill demons?"

They all came up with ideas, but it was all things they heard but nothing that anybody can use.

Like, call a preacher. Good luck with finding one.

Louie started going through all the stuff he got in his inventory, but nothing he has is any good against infernals.

They tried everything from killing it with his naginata and his ninjato, but every time it just heals itself or comes back to life.

Strangely Msizi had the most success by trying to heal the Abominabunny.

As soon as she cast , it started screaming and convulsing, flickering between horned rabbit and Abominabunny. The third time she cast on it, Louie ordered that they try and kill it as it saw struggling between the two forms.

Before, it clearly focused on killing as many of them as possible. Now is focused on reaching Msizi, previously its attention was split between all of them. Now she was the target of its hatred.

She backed away from the hate that was radiating from it. They moved in and started stabbing it while it was struggling to keep its shape. It worked, and the quest counter clicked down by one.

"Shit."

Louie stepped away and thought for a moment before he shrugged. "We got to clear this place."

He turned to the troops. "We going in there and try to capture them one at a time, bring them out here or to a corner and let Mzisi use her spell on it while we kill it."

Louie saw the fear in their eyes. "The biggest problem is the dark. I only got two lightstones with me plus the lanterns we got from the nest next door, but their light is crap in here." He swapped the two lanterns with the lightstones.

"We going to drop the lanterns as we make our way along the wall. I can capture up to 5-6 bunnies at a time, but they are fast, and they can jump from way outside the range of my dark vision, so be on your toes."

They made their way through the door and started going down the righthand wall.

They used the tactic, and it worked well. It was with their fifth bunny that things went south.

They had just caught the fifth Abominabunny when another made a sneak attack on them. It hit the wall and ricocheted into the middle of the troops at the moment when they were focused on the one they had just caught.

It bowled Jackson over and struck Debbie on her chest and started bitting and slashing as she screamed.

BOB rushed in and took the bunny apart while Mainey and Mzisi went to work on Debbie, but it seemed that Mzisi healing spells had little effect on the wounds, barely keeping her alive. Sally was sobbing as Mainey activated her ability and covered her friend with a golden cocoon of power.

There was a scream of rage.

Sally rushed the trapped abominabunny. She had her stabbing spear at the end of its shaft and started laying into it like Babe Ruth going for a home run.

Suddenly Jackson was at her side and tried to catch her as she hit the ground just like Jelani.

She went down as if she was hit with a 2x4. The other troops rushed over and fearfully formed a circle around them, facing outwards, weapons ready.

Slowly Sally struggled into a sitting position. She got on her knees, crawled over to Debbie, and ordered Mainey to remove the stasis shield.

Mainey looked doubtful but did as Sally ordered.

She reached out and laid her hands on Debbie's chest, and they both were covered in a soft golden glow.

Sally sat back as the glow slowly disappeared from the now healed Debbie.

Sally looked at the struggling abominabunnys, and with a determined look in her eyes, she got up off the floor and picked up her spear.

She took a step towards them when Loo held out his hand and blocked her path.

"You unlocked a class?"

She nodded. "Paladin" he raised an eyebrow and looked at her spear and crappy shield.

"Give me those weapons." He closed his eyes and found what he was looking for in his inventory.

He handed her a kite shield and a golden coloured flange mace.

He stepped out of her way and indicating the abominabunnys. "Be my guest."

She inventoried the shield, and with a determined stride, she took the mace in both hands and brought the now glowing weapon down on the trapped bunny.

There was a flash of light as the abominabunny was crushed into the ground as its stone cocoon shattered, killing it with one shot.

"That. . . people are why you need a paladin or cleric with you when you hunt demons. Sally kill that other one. Then let's all move back to the hallway. We need to change our plans."

Sally finished off the other abominabunny, and they moved back to the hallway where Louie asked her to share her class with him.

They worked out a new strategy based on Sally's ability and moved back into the basement.

Sally blessed ten of their spears and cast holy light on herself, and they set of hunting the rest of the abominabunnys.

After getting the notification of the last abominabunny kill, they turned to the centre of the basement.

The moment they neared what looked like a crystalline block with a big statue on it, a wave of dark energy shot out from it and pulsed through them.

He opened his eyes and looked at the ceiling, then he remembered why he is laying on the couch in his living room. The pain rushed back. Reaching for a bottle, trying to forget, trying to drown the sorrow.

The bottle was empty, and he dropped it on the carpet. How do you fill a void that is like a black hole tearing you apart? He looked around at the empty bottles strewn on the floor.

They said I must talk about death to one of my friends or colleagues to understand what happened and remember the good times.

And that Avoidance can lead to isolation and will disrupt the healing process.

Healing? How can you heal from this and friends... what friend? The J's was the last friends years ago.

He stumbled through the bottles towards the bathroom. After washing his face, he looked in the mirror.

Shit, alcohol isn't working.

He looked at the gun laying on the edge of the washbasin where he had left it when he was in the bathroom last.

Suddenly there was a small hand in his. He looked down at the small girl next to him, holding his hand. And the sadness that was in her eyes. She opened her mouth and screamed.

LOUIE, WAKE UP!

"Shit. What the fuck was that?" Louie lifted his face from the stinking floor and struggled to his knees.

Slowly his mind shook him out of the memories.

Flashback? I don't remember that. He looked at the statue and saw it moving. He looked down at his bracer on his left forearm where he had glued the black obsidian disks.

Black obsidian.

Slowly the monster got down from the base, which turned out to be an altar.

It was this creature that had activated an AOE ability. It had tried to lock Louie in a dark memory which was broken by the memory of a little girl taking his hand.

Louie shrugged the stupor and struggled upright as he saw what can only be the Rabbidevil stumbled away from him in what he hoped was shock at seeing him moving.

Shaking his head to try and clear it, he cast , but for some reason, his spell did not affect the ground. He looked around and saw everybody, including BOB laying on the ground, obviously still trapped in their own dark memories by .

Louie didn't hesitate as he equipped his naginata and ninjato,

Gripping his naginata, he let the mana built up as he readied his weapon. The air hummed, and the earth cracked in the heat as he sends all his mana into the two weapons.

After only a few seconds, he slashed down, releasing the air blade feeding the fire. It was the strongest firestorm he had ever released.

Hell, it was only the second firestorm he ever released.

The fire roared out at tremendous speed, melting the floor and flowed over the Rabbidevil, enclosing it before it went straight past and into the back wall of the basement, melting it like wax, leaving the Rabbidevil unharmed.

"Shit!"

He fell to his knees as his mana hit rock bottom and was afflicted by

For the first time since they entered the basement, he wasn't sure about this fight, wasn't sure if they will all walk away from this.

Suddenly a glowing spear impaled the Rabbidevil through its left foot, pinning it to the melted floor. Its scream nearly shattering Louie's eardrums. The inhuman sound was reflected off the walls and washed over them, breaking the freeing everybody from the spell.

Louie saw Sally leaning against one wall clutching another glowing spear.

"Nice throw Sally."

"Shit, I was aiming for its head."

Kallie staggered to his feet and stumbled towards the struggling still screaming Rabbidevil and plunged a glowing spear into the creature's body, again and again, faster and faster, like a sewing machine, he stood back and panting, he jammed the spear through its eye. The scream suddenly cut off as it toppled over dead.

Like all mage types, it had low HP, and blessed weapons were an Infernals weakness.

Unlike games where your HP were a shield that will keep you alive, in real life, a spear through the brain or a chopped off head will end you real quick.

Except if you are infernal, but that's what blessed weapons are there for, to equalise the playing field.

Louie stumbled across the runes painted on the floor and removed his Sculpture of Prestidigitation and triggered it, removing all the runes, blood and gore covering the floor and altar.

'Shit, I should have done that during the fight, it might have been the runes that kept me from using my earth spell.'

Immediately, the dark, oppressive aura was lifted from the basement.

Sally leaning heavily on a spear, came towards the altar and made sure that no traces of the ritual left, cast and on the block of crystal was used as an altar.

Louie leaned against the altar and surprisingly got a BB.

Do you want to loot this Altar Y/N

After clicking on Y, he glanced at the BB before swiping it away and inventoried the crystal block.

Sally, Msizi and Mainey made sure that everybody was healed and ready to move out.

Because Kallie had killed the boss, he got the option to loot the Spawn point.

Due to his inventory being full, he only took the capstone after Louie explained its purpose to him.

Sally cast while Louie used his sculpture artefact to clean the basement.

They were all too tired to look through the trash laying around. So as he walked through the basement he gathered everything up in a wave of stone before inventorying it all for later sorting while he triggered the sculpture.

Louie sealed the outside doors of the basement after clearing it out. He then reached up and proceeds to liquefy the basement ceiling, creating a big stone depression behind the school property. He also filled the hallway as they retreated to the stairs leading to the kitchen, where they all took a breather around a table.

Louie took out a coffee machine and filled all their mugs. Suddenly he received a BB.
