Chapter 45: Explosion
“He really tried to sacrifice the life of a child to keep himself alive…” Ivan’s brows quickly tensed up as rage and disgust erupted inside of him. He extended his right arm and in a flash the white guillotine appeared within his grasp.
Rineamodo quickly raised his hand to stop Ivan before saying. “A simple death is not enough for this kind of garbage.”
Benjamin suddenly raised his eyes at him. “What? Please my lord, I need your forgiveness…”
Rineamodo then kicked him across the face causing him to spin across the floor.
For a split second Shannon flinched fearing that she’d be met with even more pain, but no pain came.
“It’s really over.” Rosa began to cry uncontrollably as relief and hatred began pouring from her eyes. “That monster will pay for this. He deserves no forgiveness.”
Both Rineamodo and Ivan closed in on Benjamin.
“Scum like you doesn’t deserve to breathe the same air as the rest of us.” Rineamodo’s silver eyes pierced straight through Benjamin’s soul like a pair of blazing sabres. When he spoke the casual tone of a teenager was gradually replaced by that of a vengeful Demi god. “Benjamin Norton… you’re the kind of loathsome person who can’t even see right from wrong. All you have is your own emotional desires and the destruction they bring to everyone around you. You have disgraced the Coronatian people enough, as a descendant of Diana and a proud nephew of Nikolais, I prince Rineamodo, son of the Ukosyranian emperor now forbid you from breathing. You will not take another breath until your fate has been decided by that little girl-“
“-burn that bastard to death.” Shannon yelled out immediately.
“That was pretty quick.” Okimodo turned to look at his brother before continuing to say. “I guess Hiro really won’t be the one to kill him in the end.”
Shipo had something else on his mind entirely. If Benjamin died now then who the hell would sign his request? He’d just have to steal a pen and fake sign it.
Benjamin grew paler and paler as he held his breath in. To defy a living god like prince Rineamodo was not something he could even conceive of doing, so he did exactly what he was told. If such a grand and mighty existence deems him unworthy of breathing then so be it. He will die right here and right now if Rineamodo truly willed for it.
Okimodo stepped forward and said. “I’ll be right back.”
“You’re just going to leave after you killed that kids father?” Shipo couldn’t help but side eye his brother.
“What do you want me to do?” Okimodo looked at his brother with a tense expression. “It wasn’t even really me. I’ll find a way to make it up to them eventually, right now I have to tell Hiro and June about Benjamin’s incoming death.”
“Whatever.” Shipo shrugged.
At the next moment Okimodo transformed into a falcon that quickly flew towards the staircase.
Rineamodo extended his hand as a ball of fire manifested within it.
Rosa and Shannon both came in close and began to watch on hatefully with tears clouding their vision.
Sharron and Ivan both watched on in anticipation.
Benjamin felt his consciousness start to fade away along with the agony of suffocation.
In a different part of the building Hiro sensed one of her death seeds approaching the hospital rapidly. Of the over a dozen super resonators she had attached them to only one remained alive, and that individual was coming in hot. What’s even worse is that Hiro sensed an even more powerful entity in close proximity to him.
“Crap.” Hiro said suddenly. “June let’s take cover right now.”
“Ok.” June quickly obeyed and ran to hide in a nearby closet along side her.
At the next moment the entrance to the maternity ward was shattered into thousands of pieces of debris as a juvenile dragon torpedoed through the lounge. It hurdled like a missile towards Ivan and the rest who still surrounded Benjamin. They all darted and dove out of the way before the dragon opened up its mouth and scooped up Benjamin before quickly flying up and destroying the ceiling

Rubble quickly began to stack up as the building shook violently.
The dragon quickly crawled into a secluded corner with Tristan clinging on to its back as if it were his mother. The dragon quit spat Benjamin out as it suddenly began to convulse in pain before throwing up.
Veronica soon emerged from the dragon’s mouth covered in mucus and bile. She stood up slowly before her crimson eyes looked on to Tristan’s.
“Crap.” Tristan quickly willed with his mind and the dragon spun around sweeping Veronica away with its muscular tail. She was sent crashing through the wall while Tristan willed for the dragon to blast a hole straight down into the bunker which it did.
The dragon stared straight down as it breathed in heavily. At the next moment a pillar of blistering blue flames tore through the floor straight through to the bunker where Benjamin’s wife resided. The sheer force of the attack caused the building to heat up rapidly as the windows simply melted into amber sludge.
“What the hell is going on?” Okimodo who was searching for Hiro and June felt the floor beneath him shake uncompromisingly.
Inside of him Cassandra suddenly flew into a panic. “Damn it, I won’t let that bastard Tristan steal my kill.”
She then forcefully took back control of Okimodo’s body trapping the Azurai in another dream.
She then used his physical strength to punch her way down towards the bunker hoping to intercept Tristan.
Down in the bunker Benjamin Norton’s wife Satio Norton cradled her new born as she sweated profusely. The fire from the dragons attack was slowly spreading throughout the lower levels of the ward causing her and all of the staff that were hiding with her to seek a means of escape.
She along with the rest of the hospital staff slowly made their way to the bunkers exit which was a set of twin doors at the top of a small and narrow staircase. As they got closer they suddenly saw the two exit doors fly open as two youths come tumbling down towards them.
They landed in front of Satio who squatted down to see if they were okay.
Hiro groaned as she opened her eyes to see a beautiful and gentle looking older woman cradling a child as she squatted down close to her.
“You’re… are you Benjamin Norton’s wife.” Hiro asked. She had taken a nasty fall just now as she never suspected that the closet they hid in was actually a secret entrance to the bunker.
“I am…” The woman nodded with an expression of great concern. “Come with us, where going outside it’s not safe here anymore.”
One of the hospital staff quickly stepped forward to speak. “Satio those are super resonators they can survive just fine we have to move on without them.”
“But they’re only children.” Satio protested.
“It’s fine.” Hiro said before quickly jumping up to her feet along with June.
Satio looked at them in astonishment before something came crashing down in the inferno behind her.
Everyone turned to look at the source of the disturbance and saw none other than Tristan step out of the fire. He held Benjamin by the throat as he gasped for air before throwing him to the side like a piece of garbage.
Along side Tristan and Benjamin was a small child of around ten years of age with a crown of spiralling white horns and an amber pair of eyes with slit pupils. They wore bizarre robes that appeared to be made from pure energy and their skin was as black as obsidian which contrasted their white hair.
One of the doctors immediately recognised them as a dragon in its humanoid form.
“Darling… please…” Benjamin reached out towards his wife and newborn baby before looking up at Tristan. “I’ll give you everything. All the money I have is yours if you escort me and my wife away safely.”
“Why would I do that when I can just let you die and steal those things.” Tristan responded with a gleeful smile. “The only reason you’re still alive is because I’m a sentimental man. I just want to honour your death by allowing you one last conversation with your wife.”
In actuality there was a bounty on Benjamin’s wife too. By killing them both together at the same time he could quickly make the dragon swallow their corpses to be carried back to his employer. The main problem was that Hiro bitch and her random ass ally. They would certainly fuck him up pretty badly if he were to just go for the kill on Benjamin’s wife. As for the child, Tristan wasn’t a child murderer so he’d just drop the thing off at a random orphanage.
“Forget about giving him a last word with his wife, kill the bastard already!” June yelled.
“Baby, please…” Benjamin once again reached out for his wife. “I love you so much… plea-“
“YOUR A BASTARD.” Satio suddenly snapped at her husband from across the blazing room. The baby in her arms soon began to cough and she quickly handed it to one of the doctors who promptly ran up the stairs.
Benjamin was stunned for what seemed like forever before he finally responded. “You are nothing without me…”
“Shut the fuck up.” Hiro yelled back at him. “I don’t even know her but I’m sure she’s far better than you.”
“Oh yeah.” Benjamin stood up before laughing maniacally. “If it wasn’t for me her entire family wouldn’t have a house to live in. I saved them… in exchange for her hand in marriage at fifteen her father was acquitted of his debt. What the hell did I do wrong? She should be far more grateful towards me and satisfied. The old bitch is losing her youthful beauty everyday yet I never complained about that. Sure, I made a few mistakes such as beating her into sleeping with me the first few nights after our marriage but that was only because she was neglecting the traditions. She eventually matured and understood her role but was never truly grateful for the fact that I saved her. This bitch is nothing more than a slut w-“
Before Benjamin could even finish his words his head exploded like a water melon. Blood and brain matter was sent scattering across the bunker. Benjamin was dead.
satio’s teary eyes glowed a deep blue colour as she stared at Benjamin’s corpse completely stunned at what she had just done.
“She’s a resonator?” Hiro couldn’t help but be stunned at what she had just seen.
“What just happened…” Satio staggered back before the blue light in her eyes flickered out. “Did I do that?”
Beside her even Hiro and June were at a loss for words.
“No way.” Even Tristan was amazed. Did he really just witness a person resonate for the first time?
