“So you want me to help you kidnap Benjamin from the hospital?” The super resonator slowly pulled himself back together as he sat down.

“Yes and we’ll hang him from the tallest building we can find.” Hiro smiled.

The mechanical super resonator stood up and looked around. Shipo nodded at him before vanishing in a gust of wind.

“Crap.” Okimodo moaned as he rubbed the back of his neck. “I completely forgot about your buddy.”

“The formless flesh super resonator?” The mechanical super resonator said with a look of surprise. “He’s just some random guy a called a truce with nothing more. I’m pretty sure he was one of the assassins who’s only in it for the money.”

“So there’s more assassins who are like you and me?” Hiro asked with great enthusiasm.

The mechanical super resonator looked at her with a bitter smile. “Not really. I haven’t met anymore like myself apart from you.”

“What’s your name.” Okimodo asked as he leaned against the window feeling the early morning breeze.

“June.” The young man with messy black hair and large bags under his fish like eyes answered. He wore a set of simple commoner clothes that were tattered from his fight with Shipo. His voice had a typical Carone accent to it with a heavier enthuses on the latter J.

“How long is it going to be until you recover fully?” Okimodo wasn’t exactly in the mood to stay there for too long.

“Just give me another ten minutes.” June said before he blasted his own mechanical legs with his flaming breath to weld them back on to his body.

The Convoy continued on deeper into the district as they passed numerous on lookers with red eyes. Benjamin was on the phone to Corone’s head of security and demanded more protection.

“I don’t know what you expect us to do considering your reputation!” The head of security yelled in Benjamin’s ear. “Why the hell would I waste my precious soldiers on someone like you. If you don’t hang up this god damn phone now I’ll be down there to kill you myself. The only reason we’re even allowing you into this country is to honour the foundational rights assigned to everyone by the late emperor Nikolais.”

Benjamin flew into a rage and tore the phone free from its socket before crushing it to pieces. “Who the hell does that bastard think he’s talking to… and how dare he bring up the name of that traitor.”

In the back Shannon had once again awoken and quickly began to cry. Her mother quietly stroked her head as she tried to give her a reassuring smile. In the mind of this little girl, everything seemed so confusing. She didn’t understand why Benjamin acted how he did and she didn’t know why they weren’t going to her aunts house. Her parents who had always been bastions of strength and protection were both visibly on the verge of breaking down. It made the five year old Shannon wonder if this were all just a bad dream.

Seeing her daughter’s frightened eyes, Rosa began to sing quietly. “Sweet little baby Diana… Don’t let your heart be led astray… even if you don’t wish to remain here… the world will still be yours one day.

There may be times when troubles may burden you… bringing tribulations you can’t escape… but through it all you will remain powerful… may your tears be washed away.”

Judus couldn’t help but sing along with his wife. “My little baby Diana… know that your destiny awaits… the world is yours to conquer… my child born at the dawn of a new age.

There will be times when it seems that your all alone… and times when you can’t feel my grace… know that through it all I will watch over you… deep within your heart is where I’ll stay.”

Ivan sighed as he gazed out of the window. He never liked those old Coronatian lullabies, that one in particular was extremely ironic. In the end Diana was abandoned and the Coronatian empire fell into ruin, and even now his own country which claims to be its successor is in decline.

Ivan retrieved a cigar from his military uniform and lit it up before placing it to his mouth. After exhaling the smoke he suddenly said. “Stop the vehicle.”

The entire convoy came to a halt before Ivan suddenly departed and circled around to the side where Judus sat. He opened the door and motioned for hiruru as well as Judus and his family to step outside.

Inside Benjamin felt his heart try to tear itself free from his body. If they told Ivan about the contract he’d be dead meat.

Benjamin was about to get out as well but was stopped when Ivan yelled at him.

“Stay right there!” Ivan roared loudly startling everyone present.

Shipo and Rineamodo both returned simultaneously before looking at Ivan and then at each other before shrugging.

“What happened to the formless flesh school super resonator you encountered?” Shipo asked immediately.

As Ivan and the rest assorted themselves into the first automobile Rineamodo responded. “He ran away immediately upon being burned which isn’t surprising. Fire is the main weakness that school has. I doubt we’ll be seeing him anymore.”

Shipo opened one of the central doors on the rear most automobile before getting in with his cousin to continue their discussion inside.

After another five minutes the convoy moved again with Ivan, Sharron, Hiruru and the family in the first vehicle. Benjamin remained alone in the second vehicle with several soldiers.

“I should’ve known you couldn’t bare to be without me for too long.” Sharron teased as she rested her head on Ivan’s shoulder.

“It’s times like this when my life feels so damn pointless.” Ivan leaned back in his seat as he continued to smoke himself high.

Sharron couldn’t help but sigh. Her husband had forgotten to take his anti depressants again.

Ivan gazed out of the window towards the glowing crescent moon and said. “It would take me less than a second to get to the hospital while carrying Benjamin. Yet I decided that I’d rather have a scenic ride around the city. The hospital should be only five minutes away right?”

In the back everyone remained dead silent. While they were all glad to be away from Benjamin it was clear that this general Ivan was in an extremely bad state of mind.

With June fully healed and ready to aid Okimodo and Hiro the three all climb out of the window and onto the roof. They glance around and fail to spot the convoy.

“Shit looks like the convoy slipped through our fingers.” Hiro said with a slight frown.

“You know where the Hospital is right?” Okimodo asked.

“I do.” She replied. “Follow me.”

Okimodo and June shared a nod before they both grew a pair of wings. Okimodo naturally used his shape shifting resonance ability to grow his preferred eagle wings and June grew a pair of metallic wings with knife like blades for feathers.

Hiro transformed herself back into a falcon before flying off with the two of them following. They flew high into the night sky where they were captured by the sight of a large white building perched on a hill.

“That’s it right?” Okimodo yelled through the racing air.

“Yes.” Hiro yelled back. “Let’s wait there for Benjamin to arrive.”
