Chapter 17: fighting dreamer.

Back in the arena a tall third timer emerged on to the arena to confront Bhudboidingas. The youth was rather well built and stood quite sturdy on his feet. His overall appearance while fierce was not one which overpowered that his opponent. Bhudboidingas had a similar body type to Okimodo and Shipo Who were both much taller and more athletically inclined than most boys their age. The two youths stood equal in height despite a two year age difference between them. Bhudboidingas offered his hand for a handshake before the duel started. When the boy shook his hand Bhudboidingas struck pulling the boy in closer before racking his chin with a heavy punch.

The boy stumbled back and scowled before lunging at his opponent in a rage. Bhudboidingas skill fully dodged and blocked all of the older boys attacks before delivering a devastating kick to the boy’s groin.

Okimodo flinched as he witnessed this, stunned at the pettiness of that last attack. “You’d expect something like that to be considered an illegal move.”

The older boy’s face deformed with discomfort before he fell to his knees as he clutched his sore spot.

Bhudboidingas stood tall and laughed like a maniac before speaking. “Is this really the strength of a person repeating the rite of passage a second time? How can a mighty shang rokai fall to just one kick in the nuts.”

The older boy’s eyes lit up with a rage filled blaze when he heard the disrespect coming from the first timer. “At least I’m not half a person.”

“But you will be half a man once I’m done with you.” Bhudboidingas smirked before delivering a second kick to the object in between the boy’s legs.

The older boy roared in pain before becoming a blur of red afterimages.

Bhudboidingas tucked his chin into his chest and planted his feet firmly into the ground.

Soon countless encircling punches shot towards him and one by one they were each dodged, deflected and blocked. The older boy grew frustrated and stamped his feet into the arena causing it to ripple and distort as if it were a liquid.

Bhudboidingas jumped back away from the unstable ground and landed some metres away from his opponent. The ground then suddenly became solid before shattering into countless small and large rocks that all levitated in the air. The older boy then proceeded to spin around while kicking the larger among the rocks. one by one they were blasted towards Bhudboidingas. The white haired, pointy eared youth smirked before blocking and deflecting the rocks sending rock shards cascading across the arena.

At the same moment that this was happening, several women from the Ionoon school emerged from within the circle of boys just in time. They all extended their palms forward and the numerous rock fragments that were sent flying during the fight were captured in an invisible force.

“Is this really the best you can do?” Bhudboidingas laughed mockingly before taking an unnaturally deep and long gurgling breath.

“Don’t tell me that this guy…” Okimodo who had been watching intently by his family had a half bewildered, half incredulous expression. Beside him Shikimodo squinted his eyes in intrigue, knowing the resonance ability Bhudboidingas was about to use all to well.

“You’re bluffing…” the older boy laughed out loud. “You, a mere first timer couldn’t possibly know that technique.”

At the next moment Bhudboidingas leaned forward slightly as his face began to change its shape. His eyes stretched and grew longer and sharper almost to the point where the edges pierced into his hairline just above his ears. His nose became flatter and wider and his lips ripped and peeled back to reveal his teeth which had grown razor sharp like an ancient serpent’s. The skin on his face stretched grossly as the corner of his lips ripped all the way up to his ears. With a crack his jaw unhinged itself as countless red feathers grew out from his hair.

“Bullshit!” The older boy yelled out defiantly, refusing to acknowledge the blatant reality before his eyes.

At the next second Bhudboidingas’s mouth opened unnaturally wide in a disgusting contorted manner. For a moment it seemed as if all light in the arena had vanished before an overwhelmingly bright light erupted from Bhudboidingas’s mouth. Simultaneously, this light was accompanied by a Shriek so relentless in its attack on the ears that it caused everyone’s bones to tremor and shake painfully and a pressure so intense no one could move. The older boy was hit most severely and all of the rocks in the air simply shattered or disintegrated as he tried his best to resist the overwhelming force.

Within the now rippling seats, Okimodo and his family, as well as Ivan and Sharron all clutched their ears in discomfort.

The older boy tried his best to endure but felt his body slowly start to melt into liquid as if his bones were only paste. His body was slowly giving up but in his heart he knew that he couldn’t lose on this day. After all he wasn’t just here for the rite of passage but to prove his worth to a certain someone. That someone was naturally a young lady. In truth from the very moment he stepped into the arena to confront Bhudboidingas his eyes had been periodically fixated upon this one girl. He couldn’t let himself lose to the likes of Bhudboidingas and fail his rite of passage permanently. Today he would come out on top at all costs.

Step by step the older boy got closer to Bhudboidingas. It felt as if his entire body was constantly being slammed against a brick wall made from razor sharp air yet he persevered nonetheless. His ear drums had already been long destroyed by Bhudboidingas’s attack and as he walked forward excruciatingly long streaks of blood blew out from his now redundant ears. There was no sound to distract him only the echoing voice of the girl he fancied and pure determination. Step by step the boy got closer to the still roaring Bhudboidingas, until he was only a punch away from his opponent. Bhudboidingas stepped back and waved up his arms in the air in fear and submission. The older boy pulled back his right arm and then his muscles bulged as he crunched his right hand into a fist. He blasted his fist forward like a piston, his knuckles ripping across Bhudboidingas’s jaw and blasting him straight into the ground cracking it. A shockwave rippled across the arena and out into the palace ending the fight. Bhudboidingas was dead.

“While it does break the rules when you kill your opponent, you won’t be getting punished for it today.” Shimpacha heaved a deep breath. “That was so awesome I just have to let it pass. After fifty three seconds, Bhudboidingas was killed awesomely buy Azurai Dendendei Dupin who has subsequently passed his rite of passage.”

The audience clapped on with wide smiles as Dupin walked out of the arena, the boys clearing the way for him in fear and respect. He walked up to the seats where his father greeted him.

“My son…” His daddy said. “You are my pride and joy…, my greatest achievement. You’re my favourite child.”

Dupin’s father embraced him lovingly.

“Knock it off dad you’re the worst.” Dupin pried himself free from his father’s deadbeat grasp. He was then confronted by none other than the clan head who bowed before him.

“You are by far the most promising youth of our clan.” The head of the Azurai clan slammed his head on the staircase as he kowtowed. “We’d like to invite you into the main fighting force immediately.”

Dupin smiled as he kneeled down to usher the clan head to his feet. “I’d love to join the main fighting force but I’m afraid I have to decline.”

“What!!” The clan head gesticulated in a pathetic manner. “Please explain yourself!”

Dupin gazed longingly into the distance before speaking. “I’m going to travel the world with the girl I love.”

“What girl is that?” The voice of an angel asked.

Upon hearing the ethereal voice, Dupin’s heart began to race immediately. He turned to look at where the voice came from and there she stood. She was the very reason he was able to overcome Bhudboidingas. She was the embodiment of beauty, Her long elegant lashes, Her dark flowing ocean of hair, Her distinct ink like birthmark on the right side of her delicately sculpted round face… Her abnormally large cat like silver slanted almond eyes, Her cute small yet pointed coronation nose…Her plump lips, Her curvy yet slender figure and her plump breasts. Her everything.

She was the light of his life and the fire of his loins. She was none other than Azurai Batari Shitari.

“Who is it Dupin?” Shitari said getting extremely close to Dupin. “I know I always say you’re like my third brother, but that’s only something I said because I didn’t know how I really felt about you.”

“Shitari I don’t care how you feel.” Dupin took a deep breath remembering that today is the day he became a man. “I love you Shitari, nothing you say or do will change that fact.”

“I know…” Shitari said as she suddenly leaned forward hugging Dupin tightly. “I came here because I’ve finally figured out how I feel about you.”

Dupin tried to break free of her embrace only for her to jump on him pinning him to the ground. “I love you too.”

The two then kissed passionately before being interrupted by a long hated annoyance.

“Get lost Okimodo.” Shitari sneered.

“Listen.” Okimodo took a deep breath. “I know we hurt your feelings when me and Shipo said that the only reason we let you hang out with Shitari all the time is because we know you don’t stand a chance with her. I'm here to say that was wrong and the real reason me and Shipo said that was because we knew that Shitari loved you and just didn’t know it yet. So I’m here to apologise for my brother and myself. I also think you’re really cool and I’m sorry I slept with your sister two weeks ago, I’m sorry for making fun of you all the time and I’m sorry for not inviting you to come with me and the others to sneak into the clan treasury when we were kids. I hope we can put this all behind us before you become our brother in law.”

“WHAT!!!” Both Dupin and Shitari were stunned. “Brother in law?”

“Yes.” Okimodo smiled. “Father already knew of the love you two have for each other, and has arranged for the two of you to be married.”

In a flash ten days passed and Dupin stood under the two intertwining statues of Heshea and Ionoon in the clan temple.

All around him there were people clapping and cheering. On his family’s side he saw all of his relatives clapping on in ecstasy. On the opposite side was the Batari family and their relatives. Among them both Okimodo and Shipo were clapping happily. Dupin directed his gaze in the middle when he noticed the imposing frame of Shikimodo approaching him. The great general looked at Dupin with reverence as he carried in his mighty arms a sight of pure fairy like perfection. In his arms lay Shitari in an Azurai wedding dress, its jade coloured frills swaying in the mountain wind. All around her flew birds that sang romantic songs and poems.

Shikimodo leaned down and placed Shitari into Dupin’s arms gently.

“Fare well my daughter, it is my honour to be giving you up to the Dendendei family’s prodigy.” Shikimodo cried streams of fatherly tears. “I call upon the archetype of Heshea and the archetype of Ionoon, guide this union so that they may live in your image and embody your example.”

Dupin looked into Shitari’s wide love filled eyes. “I swear that I Azurai Dendendei Dupin will be a strong father and passionate leader of my household as demanded by the laws placed over us pious men who revere you.”

Shitari stared back at him with an intoxicating smile. “I swear that I Azurai Batari Shitari will be a diligent and obedient wife and loving mother as demanded of us faithful women who love and cherish you.”

Dupin let her down and she immediately kissed him passionately on the lips before saying. “From this day onwards, I am no longer Azurai Batari Shitari. Instead, I will be known as Azurai Dendendei Shitari. The faithful wife of Azurai Dendendei Dupin.”

With that being said the two newly weds kissed as everyone clapped in encouragement.

The next thing Dupin knew it was midnight and he was sitting down on his bed next to Shitari.

The girl was fidgeting before moving over to lay down on her back. She smiled and blushed aggressively as she motioned for Dupin to climb on top of her.

Who could guess that life would suddenly turn out to be so good for Dupin. Not only did he pass the rite of passage. But now he’s going to lose his virginity together with the girl of his dreams who is now his wife. Surely this was too good to be true?

“Surely you must think this is too good to be true.” Bhudboidingas cackled as he suddenly appeared in Shitari’s place, startling Dupin who had already thrown half of his clothes off.

At the next moment everything was consumed in a blinding light as the roof of his house was torn away. The silhouettes of two pairs of legs came forth from the sky. They moved around frantically before kneeling down on either side of Dupin. That’s when he realised that he was laying down. He felt the hands of the two individuals slip underneath him before they pulled him up into the air. As his consciousness returned to him he saw the mocking expressions of countless boys passing him by. His perception returned to him and so did his hearing. He realised that he was being carried off somewhere by two women from the Ionoon school. Around him he saw the arena and countless bespectacled people sitting all over the place. Surely he wasn’t? He was back at the rite of passage? Pain rattled his spine as he remembered the fight against Bhudboidingas. He was in the middle of enduring Bhudboidingas’s attack when he suddenly overcame it and killed him right? And then he married Shitari?

Dupin couldn’t help but let out a self deprecating laugh. It was all a dream.

Back in the centre of the arena Shimpacha began to speak. “After fifty three seconds Azurai Dendedei Dupin was knocked unconscious and has subsequently failed his rite of passage. Azurai Bundai Bhudboidingas has passed his rite of passage and is from now on an official shang rokai.”

Those words struck Dupin to his core, shattering any pride he had left. As he was carried off into a medical room by the Ionoon school women, he cursed Heshea for now condemning him to become one of them, never a man and forever a boy.

In the crowd Shitari observed the seen with a slight frown. “Dupin’s going to be crushed… I hope he copes well in the Ionoon school with me.”

Okimodo was dead silent. To him, this outcome wasn’t too unexpected. Dupin had been an under performer for years and himself and Shipo would regularly beat him to a pulp during duels. Dupin was by all accounts a loser who had no aspirations and spent most of his days lurking around Shitari. The poor guy didn’t even have a chance and yet still kept on trying. Hopefully this humiliation will teach him a valuable lesson and he’ll become a much more tolerable person in the future. In comparison to him Bhudboidingas was a much worse person, but even a bad person is more tolerable than a good person if the good person doesn’t respect themselves. Bhudboidingas was a monster of a boy and known to be a terror to fight against. Among the clan elders there were those who would sigh and shake their heads disappointingly whenever his name came up, but an equal amount would always defend him. They would often describe Bhudboidingas as a misunderstood youth who only needed the proper guidance to become a prodigy. This attitude was not unjustified as Bhudboidingas was freakishly powerful and gifted with resonance, it was almost to an extent that rivalled Okimodo himself. Of course Okimodo would absolutely mop the floor with bhudboidingas, but Bhudboidingas would definitely get a few good hits in before Okimodo did it.

“I’ve seen enough for today.” Okimodo was about to turn and leave when he suddenly heard Bhudboidingas yell something terrible.

“I DON’T GIVE A SHIT!!!” Bhudboidingas yelled in Shimpacha’s face.

“Boy…” Shimpacha only barely restrained his anger as he spoke. “You’ve won… get the fuck out of the arena.”

“Don’t you get it?” Bhudboidingas sneered. “If I were you I’d fail every other boy left. None of them are worth the audience’s time.”

“Shut the fuck up.” A boy yelled out from the sidelines.

“Bastard.” Another boy added.

“Oh yeah.” Bhudboidingas sighed before motioning for the boy to come forward. “Come here and shut me up.”

Having been successfully provoked one of the two boys ran forward in a rage towards him. Bhudboidingas smirked before he became a white blur. At the next second a thud could be heard as the boy’s head was smashed into the stone ground by Bhudboidingas.

He stood up and observed the unconscious boy before retrieving an appendage from his trousers.

“Sick bastard!”

“What the hell is he doing?”

“You can’t be serious.”

“Someone stop him.”

The crowd fell into an uproar as they watched the white haired pointy eared youth urinate on his fallen enemies unconscious body. He then walked in a circle making sure to thoroughly defile the arena too.

All around him a thousand eyes stared a thousand daggers. The Azurai Boy’s all charged at once intending to thoroughly take revenge on Bhudboidingas for his disrespectful display.

Shimpacha jumped high up in the air where he remained suspended as he pondered over a way to regain control of the situation.

The arena became a mountain of fists and kicks as the boys all piled on top of bhudboidingas. At the next moment the same terrible shriek from before was heard and an enormous pressure fell over the arena.

“He can use that technique two times in a row at such a young age?” The clan head stroked his beard having been only entertained by the sudden change in events.

One by one the boys were blown back and sent tumbling across the ground. When Bhudboidingas finished his attacks all but three of the boys were unconscious. Even among the crowd there were several people who slumped over having been knocked out.

“That was so intense.” Cheadle clutched her ears in discomfort. Having seen the fight she couldn’t help but develop an intense dislike for the white haired pointy eared boy.

“How stupid, you all attack once and you all get hit at once.” Bhudboidingas looked around at the carnage and laughed. “They all failed right? I defeated them all.

Above him Shimpacha Shook his head in disapproval.

At the next moment a chop was delivered to the back of Bhudboidingas’s neck knocking him unconscious.

The white haired boy fell to the ground as his sneak attacker looked down on him from behind.

“Thanks for that Guyus.” Shimpacha frowned before dropping back down.

The arena was quickly stormed by countless women from the Ionoon school. They immediately tended to the wounds of the unconscious boys as well as the three boys who were still conscious but unable to move.

Back up in the crowd Okimodo had been thoroughly entertained and was finally about to leave before he looked around to observe his family. Shitari and his mother both cradled the unconscious Fuji in between them who had been knocked out cold by Bhudboidingas’s attack.

His father and Ivan as well as Sharron were still watching the arena intensely.

Okimodo sighed before contemplating on what his next actions would be.

“Hello Kaiya.” Shitari waved as she noticed Kaiya approaching her and her family.

Kaiya waved back at her with a wide smile as she approached Shitari and the two began a conversation.

As Okimodo’s attention drifted towards the beautiful girl with green eyes, a sinful intention arose within him. He had achieved a milestone today, surely he deserved to self indulge a bit?
