At some archeological site, sounds of drilling and constant hammering filled the air. It wasn't like any other archeological site where the land was baren and dry with the sun scorching hot. This place was vibrant with plant life and cool air. As long as one was on the grassy ground, one would be shielded from the sunshine by the canopy.
Obviously, no archeological activities could be carried out here which was why it was being carried out at some open ground in the forest. To be specific, it was being carried out in what looked like ruins of a settlement. There were a few huts still standing and the majority of what looked like housing, collapsed to the ground. In all honesty, it was a sight to behold because for structures made from mud, wood and dry grass: basically organic matter, they shouldn't have been able to survive for over a thousand years. This made it a popular tourist site.
"Hm, that's interesting....." said a man stroking his chin while examining the soil. Judging from the dirt marks all over his body and clothes, one could tell he had been doing the same activity for quite a long period of time.
His hair was styled in a clean buzz cut. He had a pair of light brown eyes and a charming jaw line that would make any woman fall for him. To say the least he was a handsome young man who looked to be in his twenties.
"Same thing I'm thinking Harvard, I mean the signs of a civilization existing here are evident but still there are no bones whatsoever to prove that. It's like the people just disappeared into no where. Is there some kind of tomb we just haven't discovered?" wondered a woman who was doing the same thing as the man. She had silky black hair tied into a ponytail and had a delicate beautiful face. She wore the same attire as the man which was a casual checked shirt and a pair of blue jeans.
"Sir, our machines have detected no mass behind this rock!" one of the workers wearing the usual archeologist uniform consisting of a cream colored vest and shorts plus the usual boots yelled.
"C'mon Monica, let's check this out," the man said: getting up and leading the way. He checked the readings on the machine and indeed it was like his colleuge had said.
"Could it be some kind of hidden tomb?" both Harvard and Monica wondered spontaneously.
"Blow it down!" Harvard commanded with a pleased smile before holding Monica's hand and taking her a distance away.
The workers did as told. They prepared the explosives and set them up in such a way that the explosion would cause it maximum damage on the giant rock connected to the vertical cliff. They connected all the wires and remotes so they could set of the explosions at a safe distance.

"3,2,1!"
The moment the countdown ended, those in charge of the switches, pressed down hard and the explosions went off causing a thick cloud of dust to rise.
When the explosion was done, Harvard and Monica uncovered their ears with triumphant smiles. Which lasted for a short moment because when the cloud settled, the rock could still be seen intact, without a scratch whatsoever.
"Well that was unexpected!" Harvard blinked twice to confirm what he was seeing.
Before he could wrap his head around what had happened, something phenomenal happened. The rock started to lose its opacity to a certain point!
It now looked like some sort of translucent hologram without mass.
After clearing all doubts about checking it out, Harvard and his team proceeded to explore the rock. When they tried touching it, it was like they had predicted. It felt nonexistent. When they took a closer look, they could see a dark tunnel behind the rock.
"This.... changes everything...." Harvard and Monica said in unison, staring deep into the dark tunnel!

"Trevor! Trevor! Wake up it's time for school." said Monica as she passed by Trevor's room carrying a basket of laundry.
"Just give me couple of minutes, " replied Trevor in a tired tone; attempting to cover his head with the blanket.
"Oh come on kid, it's already 7 am. You are going to be late if you do not wake up now," she said; entering Trevor's room without permission. She walked to the window and pried open the curtains.
The sun picked through the windows and fell on Trevor's face.
Trevor groaned in dissatisfaction. If there was one thing Trevor hated other than being compared to others and bullied, it would be waking up on Monday morning. For it marked a new start to a whole week of torture listening to useless information.
"Aaaaaahh. Why do I have to go today. Can't I just go tomorrow instead.?" asked Trevor in a pleading voice, tossing the blanket away from his body and jumping off bed.
"Oh honey, you are a new kid in school. You need to settle in and make new friends,"
"But mom....." before he could even finish what he was saying, Harvard spoke in a loud tone from down stairs, "Hey, what's taking y'all so long breakfast is ready!"
"Let's not make your dad pissed okay. Pack up your school bag and come downstairs for breakfast." Monica said before she kissed Trevor on the forehead and turned to leave.
Trevor had no other choice but to listen to his parents and prepare for the gruesome day ahead.
After doing his normal morning routine, he headed downstairs for breakfast. Shortly after, he was off to school in his dad's car.
"Can you turn on the radio for me?" asked Harvard clearly concentrated on the road ahead.
Trevor reached out his hand and tapped on the screen in the middle panel of the car.
The radio turned on immediately and played a some sort of hip hop rap song.
"Son, make some friends okay. Don't let anyone pick on you. Always stand for the right thing son. And ohh! I want to see your girlfriend home soon. " Harvard joked with his usual charming smile.
"Oh come on dad. With your inherited looks, I can brig home 10," replied Trevor in a sarcastic tone.
Both father and son laughed through out the drive as they chatted and made jokes non stop.
These two were clearly close: really really close.
After 15 minutes, they finally arrived at their destination.
They both said their love yous and byes and Trevor finally rushed to the school gate.
Along with other students, trying to beat the time before the school bell rings.
