Chapter 8:

Chapter 8:

“Follow her.”

One by one the WarFrames from within the G2E9 and rushed out through the door one after the other, igniting their Jump-Unit near their waist or backs as a pair or more each WarFrame unit holding a different number of fiery wings of light as it burst out behind them carrying them into the skies.

Joining in on the aerial dance floor of blades and guns to claws and scales adding extra sparks and thunder cracks as extra flare to the bloody dance happening in the sky.

Their blades wove a lattice of silver light, eviscerating everything that approached their edged web with the leading samurai WarFrame at the front of it all.

The weapon in their hands was the massive two handed blade the Type-7 Battle Halberds though the design of the weapon causes it to suffer from a slower initial swinging speed in combat and weighs down its user during evasive maneuvers on the ground but in the air it was a whole other story, using the momentum of their swings they were twirling around using the motion of their swings to evade blows as the blade gains greater striking power once in motion.

They twirled and spun around in the air never stopping constantly on the move, their Thursters flared behind them making them look like the very image of an angel dancing in the skies above with a sense of grace and beauty but yet also stern and fierce in their movements.

Hiyuki Hikari was the head lead dancer at the heart of the storm her massive blade fashioned after the Japanese ōdachi design flashing with an energy field that glowed like flames along its surface making the blade’s edge glow with a hint of blue. First she was wielding it one-hand then two-handed and then back to one even twirling massive hunk of metal in between her mechanical fingers alternating between her left and right hand for each swing, swinging wide arcs all around cleaving through sources of the creatures felling many before her.

Then suddenly firing her thrusters after a twirl cleaving another bat like creature in two in resulting in a motion like she is leaning on her back in the air while twirling the blade around in her massive overlapping mechanical hand now holding the handle in a reverse grip, she then hurled her massive sword overhead like a spear into the air above her towards the direction of the sun. It lanced over head driving down to the hilt into the skull of a bat with a good meter or more of the blade protruding out through the creature’s rear end that was flying towards her over head with the sun at its back but even that trick couldn’t escape from Hiyuki Hikari’s senses to save itself.

As the creature’s corpse fell towards her the blade’s handle was then back in her hand and letting gravity do the work for her the blade unsheathed itself from the creature’s remains coming off clean the blood buried off into ash by the blade’s energy field coating and once again it went off spinning, falling, killing.

“Damn she’s really good that Hiyuki Hikari.”

“Yeah we’ve already established that.”

The ID rune pinpointing Hiyuki Hikari on the HUD read as the Murasama the personal WarFrame of Hiyuki Hikari was flashing from one area to another on the their helmet HUD Hololite Screen.

The sensory system of their WarFrames though outdated even seemed to have trouble tracking her movements such was her speed as she darted around in the air never ceasing in her movement.

Suddenly the heads of one of the bat creatures exploded and it headless remains began plummeting to the earth. From that one more began falling as well so with their head pierced through leaving a hole in their skulls or simply exploded in red sauce

[“What the-?”] a voice sound over the radio over the filtered outside noise within Hiyuki Hikari’s armored helmet the Murasama’s face plate darted towards the direction where the trajectory runes and data feeds being displayed on her helmet display HUD looking for something or someone who was far from her sights.

“This must be Ailsa Smith’s doing.”

Nearly a couple miles away from the battle site atop of a small house there was an Ocean-Blue color scheme Warframe situated on one knee a bare human head of the armored suit lined up with the massive scope of the weapon in its hands. For which in its hands it held a sniper rifle if it could classified as such, such as its size was more befitting of the term as a cannon than a mere rifle.

The ID Rune or Tag as some people would refer to it read as the Fail Not the personal WarFrame suit of Ailsa Smith.

“Concentrated all your fire on the flyers nearest to the G2E9s keep them away the ships.” Ailsa Smith said out loud her WarFrame suit’s speaker amplifying her voice even if she was unhelmed with a ring of light over hers eyes projected from two ear pieces with her hair swaying in the wind. The HUD Data flashing across her eyes and Hiyuki Hikari’s Murasama was magnified to the point as if she was right next to her even though she was a nearly several hundred meters away from Ailsa Smith’s current position though such holo screen is invisible to a bystander looking at her face. This is due to a device she is wearing known as the Interface Headset.

The Interface Headset is a small device, worn when piloting a WarFrame, The interface headset most often is composed mainly of four individual pieces one set which sit in the pilot's hair, near their temples, and is connected by some type of hairband, which is usually covered by the hair itself. The other set which resembles a pair of earclips with different models and designs to match outfits or personal. A strip of light - presumably a power indicator - runs along the centre line of the device from the bottom to the tip in standard design. The set attaches to the side of the user's head through advanced magnetism operation.

The headset is headgear designed to read the psycowaves or the brain waves of the person wearing it, This device is also responsive to the user's gestures and voice, and displays a visual 3D interface visible only to them, aiding in the operation of machinery and technology alike, as well as in communications transmitting those signals to a WarFrames equipped with a receiver. This allows a pilot to control the WarFrames via working in tandem with their Drive Suit and access its systems, even remote weapons even from outside of the WarFrames with one’s own thoughts, which allows them to interact with and control computerized systems using only their thoughts, rather than physical controls. As a small augmented reality device worn by human users that serves as a multipurpose sensory interface. This device is responsive to the user's gestures and voice, and displays a visual 3D interface visible only to them, aiding in the operation of machinery and technology alike, as well as in communications.

When activated outside of the Drive Helmet, a ring of light illuminates around the device. The interface is within a wide geodesic polyhedron of holographic light, and important markers are also indicated with holographic light in purple and blue hues. The user can interact with some of the holograms with gestures. Such is the action of Ailsa Smith with one mechanical arm holding the sniper rifle cannon and the other twisting and twirling in the air in front of her playing with the holograms and runes projected in her visions though to another person eyes it looked she was playing with the air or making weird hand gestures.

[“Roger.”]

A response came over the comms from her Interface Headset over the booming shots of her weapon several feet around her were there were two other WarFrames with a similar sniper cannon in their hands each letting out its own roar by the second. Around the three metal giants be it a few paces away from the three there were several other students each in a different position somewhere lying on their stomachs , some were kneeing unsupported each of them holding a weapon each adding another note tone to the chorus boom around them.

The weapons in their hands was a massive long rifle weapon being 48 in (120 cm) to 57 in (140 cm) this official term or name of the weapon is The Barrett M82. A weapon that was standardized by the U.S. military as the M107, is a recoil-operated, semi-automatic anti-materiel sniper system developed by the American Barrett Firearms Manufacturing company. Despite its designation as an anti-materiel rifle, it is used by some armed forces as an anti-personnel system.

Being around 1,225 mm (48.2 in) or 1,135 mm (44.7 in) with an extended stock which some of the girls weapon have, another such weapon being around 1,135 mm (44.7 in) long that several of the girls were using was the Dragunov sniper rifle like the Barrett M82 is a sniper rifle weapon but the Dragunov was originally designed as a squad support weapon, a semi-automatic, gas-operated rifle with a short-stroke gas-piston system.

Each prey they got in their sights they dropped with a single pull of the trigger founded another prey and repeated.

Looking over the zoomed in magnified screen of a area further away from her location playing over her eyes the calculation data, maps coordinates a with a single though several more data streams appeared on her HUD. This is due to her Interface Headset as the headgear is designed with a special device known as the psycommu device which reads the Brain-waves of the person wearing it, and then transmitting those signals to a WarFrames through the suit’s receiver. This effectively allows a pilot to control controlled the WarFrame’s systems with a single though process; even allows control of remote weapons even from outside of the WarFrames.

“Anastasia I got some more places for you hit at these points, coordinates at 027-196.”

“Copy that coordinates received targets acquired at point 027-196…..” Anastasia Volkov replied from the comms link as she was conveying the information from the link there was several chatter behind Anastasia Volkov’s voice.

Further away from Ailsa Smith’s position, behind them amidst a group of students with multiple tube like object sticking upwards towards the sky surrounding a two-three meter tall sleek black armored with red and gold trimmed armor plated giant with twin massive shoulder mounted cannons pointed towards the directions projected in the helmets HUD machines ID tag on the HUD read as the Einherjar Regen (Enteral Warrior Rain) the personal WarFrame suit of Anastasia Volkov.

At Anastasia Volkov’s location further back and around her there were scatter groups of student several meters away from Anastasia Volkov each group around them were manning a 81 mm mortar winding the gear and shifting it into the proper angle because of the Interface Headset that they were all wearing the information passed through the Battle-net was also picked up by them.

“Coordinates locked……….ready~, fire!” BOOM!

And then a gust of wind swept over everyone around the Einherjar Regen or around Anastasia Volkov along with the sound of something cutting through the air into the distance and before a stream of explosions echoed in the distance through her digital scope linked to her Interface Headset in place of her helm Ailsa Smith could see the tides of flames and body limps flying into the air clearly in such detail as it burst into the air as if it was happening right in front of her.

“Damn would you look at that.” She couldn’t help but comment to herself seeing the carnage before her eyes.

Then a rune shone in the far corner of her of her vision she then gestured at the hololite runes like swipe across a tablet screen as the imagery in her eyes quickly changed to a another area close to the explosions but more towards where the retreating student bodies who were fighting were at.

Rushing past them were several Transport Truck sitting upon its open storage rack had 4 WarFrames on each side, they sit facing to the left and right once the vehicles came to a skidding stop near the burning flames the ramps came off and the metal giants stepped off.

Two of the WarFrames that stepped off of the Transport Truck stood out from the rest of the WarFrames present one with an array of weapons throughout its body frame in a Forest Cameo Color Scheme the other was Orange-Red in color and a tad bulkier than the Forest Cameo WarFrame.

“Alright~! Let’s get this party on~!” a voice spat out loudly from the amplified speakers from the armored helmet of the Forest Cameo Color Scheme Warframe as its hands reached for two massive long fire-arms from its sides.

“This isn’t a game Diana Brown and you sure sound excited right now despite just a while ago you were complaining about having to do anything.”

“Oh shut it Bernadette Félix that was then this is now and besides I can’t deny that this is getting my blood boiling don’t you also feel it too.”

The armored head of the Forest Cameo Color Scheme WarFrame turned to face the Orange-Red WarFrame, though because of the helmet face plate concealed Diana Brown’s face one could only see the faceplate of the helmet but even without looking at her face it was easily enough tell due to the excitement radiating off of her words from behind the face plate, even her body language screamed it out loud. In response the Orange-Red WarFrame the one within being Bernard Félix shoke her head side to side.

“If you girls are done fooling around we have a battle to attend to be ready here them come.” another Warframe seemingly in a fashionable white-grey armor color scheme carrying a staff of sorts in one armored mechanical hand walked up behind the two.

“Oh come on Chun Hyang don’t be such a killjoy.”

Boom~! Two cannon shots sounded out in the air resonating with each other from the two rifle cannons near Diana Brown’s hip. From the edge of the flames came several flaming silhouette burst out from the sea of flames they burst into several bits each sonic boom that echoed from Diana Brown’s hip one burning silhouette of a Crawler exploded.

But there were too numerous for Diana Brown’s twin cannons to manage them all as several of the burning Crawlers though dying as they ran in full sprint towards the group with absolute disregard to their own lives came at them. In response to this Bernadette Félix raised her own weapon and pulled the trigger as a burst of flame shot out from the muzzle of her cannon dosing the creature it hit in more flame before a second later it exploded the same result happened to the next and the next.

“Woah girl easy there already enough heat around here there’s no need to crank it up more here chill.” “Nope.” that was all Bernadette Félix said in response.

Then several armor plating on Bernadette Félix’s mechanical legs shifted revealing a hidden stash of micro missiles which shot out from her legs leaving a trail of smoke behind as explosion went off where the missiles landed.

Once the explosion subside revealing nothing more than more scorched pavement and charred bodies. “Anymore complaints?” Bernadette Félix turned her armored helm toward Diana Brown’s armored helm though both couldn’t see each other expressions. Screech~!

“Yes!” Diana replied point her twin cannons back towards the flames as more of the creatures came at them then a flash of white rush past them in a blur and the silhouette of a burning Crawler was split in two but it didn’t stop there as another was cleaved in two the blur stop for a split second revealing it to be the Chun Hyang the ID rune on both Diana Brown’s and Bernard Félix’s helmet HUDS read as the Kumiho (Nine-Tail Fox in Korean).

The staff or pole arm in her mechanical hands that was without a head was suddenly replaced with a three meter long double bladed head the surface of the blade sparked and glowed unnaturally as the weapon danced in her hands cleaving at the creatures that came at her.

“Hey don’t pull a fast one on us Chun Hyang! Oh for the - Alrighty girls don’t let her show us up forward~! Advance go-go!”

On cue came the rest of passengers several student carrying a 991 mm long firearm in their arms firing as they ran up close to the beasts when close enough striking at them with their buttocks as well as drawing some machete blades slung by their waist slicing apart the creatures as they continued with their slaughter, wielding the firearm in one hand and their blade in the other. Among the array of Blades of different designs they all seemed to glow with unnatural energy that clearly not the reflected sunlight on the blade with Diana Brown’s enhanced vision provided by the etchings as visible as if she was next to them, the sparks of electricity and slight energy glow along the blade’s edge revealed its true nature.

Vibro-Swords also known as High-Frequency Blades (HF Blade) a common weapon design of the Vibroweapon series. A family of weapons that utilized high-speed sonic vibrations to make the weapons more deadly; most commonly found on swords reinforced by a powerful alternating current and resonating at extremely high vibration frequencies.

This is done by a built in design called a Vibro-generator, mostly often found in the hilt or handle of the weapon, sent out high-frequency sonic pulses that could cause anything attached to the generator to be sent into an extremely quick vibration. This oscillation weakened the molecular bonds of anything it cuts, thereby increasing its cutting ability. Close ranged combat weapons like a regular sword were long forgotten and were discarded from its military use since long ago due to the first appearance of firearms. Most soldiers in the last few centuries only used small knifes, machetes or hatchets for close range combat but even then those are rarely used because most people were killed in a gunfight rather than with a knife.

However with a rise of certain events within the One Year War lead to the rise of these iron steel weapons again with several enhancements such the Vibroweapon series, along with the situation that the students of Sun Tzu Military Academy were experiencing these weapons seemed to work well in this situation along with their firearm.

Despite the length of the firearm they seemed to have no trouble firing and wielding the firearms one-handed this is due to the special design of the said firearm in their hand known as the Auto Assault-12 (AA-12), the most prominent feature is reduced recoil. Which is done by a blowback- to gas-operated with a locked breech design, which when a bolt flies back after firing to cycle another round, around 80% of what would normally be felt as recoil is absorbed by a proprietary gas system. The recoil spring then grabs another 10%, leaving the final recoil a remarkable 10% of the normal recoil for a 12-gauge round thus allowing one to point the AA-12 at a target and unload the full magazine without significant loss of accuracy.

Each of the Auto Assault-12 (AA-12) in each girls hand was fed from with an 8-shell box magazine, or a 20- or 32-shell drum magazine depending on each individual.

Then loud engine roars echoed in the air behind them as several open BJ212A jeeps rushed pasted them, rushing head on towards the flames and beyond smashing aside several burning Crawlers as well as running over them under its wheels. As well as crashing into several of the mantis like creatures their bodies bounced and flipped over the jeeps on the back set the jeeps are armed with a M134 Gatling Gun at the back manned by one student firing away at anything that was moving around them.

“Hey don’t you girls dare tried one up on me~!” Diana Brown cried out amidst the ocean of noise as she rushed after the speeding jeeps into the fray “Ha~” behind her Bernadette Félix slightly shoke her head side to side seeing the ID rune tag on her HUD that read as Justice the name of Diana Brown’s WarFrame as it was leaving, while with the rest of the WarFrames around her began gathering at her side with a black-colored Gun-Ru with red trimming at the lead with another holding onto a Type-7 Close Range Battle Halberd.

[Do we follow her Bernadette Félix?] Bai Qing echoed near Bernadette Félix’s ear from the Interface Headset. In response several jets of flames shot out from Bernadette Félix’s suit as she speed away after her, the ID rune the Raison (French, "Reason") was drifting away from them on the HUD.

[All pilots on me after that idiot push these bugs back!] Bernadette Félix cried out into the cooms as she rushed after Diana Brown’s back the streams of fire shooting out from their backside resembling wings of fire and light.

[Well you girls heard her let’s go!] Lu Lingqi’s voice resounded in the comms as the rest of the Gun-Ru speed after her with Bai Qing and Lu Lingqi’s WarFrame at the front.

Ahead of the storm the roaring engines and screeching wheels on the rushing jeeps cutting through the air several conversations was occurring amidst the echoing booming of gun fire. One such event was happening to the lead vehicle of the formation.

The driver, TC and the gunner who was manning the M134 Minigun at the back shredding any creatures that she laid her eye upon were bickering back and forth.

“Jade hard right eighty-five degrees north!”

“Yeah I see it!”

“Jade boogies death ahead twelve o’clock!”

“What-oh ok got it!”

“Jade contacted sixty-two degrees west!”

“Ok chill people slow down here can we please stick to one nomination please are we using cardinal directions or are we using clock positions!?”

The girl named Jade screamed out through her helmet radio back at the multiple voices echoing beside her ear. “Jade portside hard to starboard!” Her driver replied back to her which only caused Jade’s frustration to peek out. “Oh for crying out never mind!”

Among the sea mixture of a multitude flavor of different sounds meld in to one tone a thunderous roar can be heard above all of it all. Boom-boom! Another several Crawlers and several of the mantises like creatures that came from the flames exploded into a heap or burning meat that filled the nose of those outside of a WarFrame. The Justice was firing its twin cannons in quick sessions felling any that got in sight a warning rune flash appeared on Diana Brown’s HUD indicating something large due to the seismic reading sensors in her WarFrame. For a moment she thought something big was coming at her from the swarm before her before she noticed the data stream was indicating the object was approaching not from the front but was coming from the school turning her covered armored head around looking towards the source of the noise it was a massive vehicle heading toward the battlefield at a alarming pace.

“They actually have something like that how-how do they-?!” A massive armored vehicle with what appears to be a white armored figure standing atop its hull was hovering slightly above the pavement filling up the entire street squeezing the corpses of the creatures into red paste multiple gun emplacement throughout its bodies was ablaze unleashing all manners of hell at the swarm above it that tried to get close. On the two opposite side streets one to each side two much smaller armored vehicles on trends came they too were unleashing their payloads upon the creatures. Along with several BJ212A jeeps that came beside the two smaller armored vehicles armed with a 75mm Type 75 105mm recoilless gun booming away.

“She has a MHT-3 Impuslor Tank! The two the IAVs I can understand but a MHT-3 Impuslor Tank why-how-wh why does that Jiaying You have such a thing!”

The shock that Diana Brown was experiencing was understandable unlike the two the IAVs (Infantry Assault Vehicle) a heavy armored transport vehicle that is a mobile armor tank which was standard model used by the Chinese military. The MHT-3 Impulsor Tank on the other was a state of the art heavily armored vehicle more specifically a massive, super-heavy grav-tank utilized exclusively by the regular army during the war. The primary innovation was a series of heavy-lift turboengines and is held aloft by powerful anti-gravitic generators, which are powerful deterrents to enemy and kept the vehicle afloat, allowing for much more mobility as well as strafing and tactical options. The enhanced repulsor plates of the Impulsor provide a stable firing platform for the tank's temperamental weapons, which also allow the vehicle to advance inexorably over hostile terrain. The vehicles' thick armor plates as well as several additional protection from its on-board layered energy shield known as a Void Shield allow it to shrug off even the most devastating of weapon strikes. The Impulsor possesses an enormous hull which mounts a devastating range of defensive and offensive systems.

The tank growled over the broken stone pavements grinding the already broken bits into dust by its anti-gravitic field engines its weapons system echoing in the air the white armored WarFrame stood upon the tanks hull its pilot stood unhelmed her white-silver hair flowing like a wave in the wind her suit’s helmet clasped under her mechanical arm.

“Damn Jiaying You I didn’t know that we had this bad boy in storage why do we even have one of these anyway?” Yin Yue the identity of the white WarFrame’s pilot spoke into the comms network while looking at the data stream playing before her eyes via her Interface Headset. Yin Yue suit had just finished the last few tweaks before she could rush to the battlefield she suddenly got a call from Jiaying You to meet up with her saying she had a toy that could change the tide never in Yue’s mind did she think that this was the surprise.

[That’s a long story maybe for another time just focused on the task at hand first.] Jiaying You’s voice came through the Interface Headset’s comms as the tank’s weapon continued their devastation. The main weapons of the Impulsor super-heavy tank are a set of twin-linked main cannon known as Macro-Accelerator Cannons, coupled with sponson-mounted digital or energy weaponry system known as Las-Rippers or Plasma Eradicators. The Macro-Accelerator Cannons are particularly powerful the tank also possesses a co-axial, turret-mounted Heavy Autocannon or Stubber as they are commonly called by the regular army and a set of a hull-mounted, twin-linked an energy weapon known as a Lascannons positioned on the front of the vehicle.

Yin Yue was still looking through the data stream as overhead several of the bat creatures was flying diving towards the tank just before they were basted into oblivion they managed to released their own paylod and their red spikes towards Yin Yue. Though Yin Yue was focused on the data stream she wasn’t truly foolish enough to not pay any attention to the threat before her. However even as the projectile spike came ever closer to her she didn’t move she didn’t even seem to register the incoming threat as she stood unmoving. Just before it was about three meters from her unprotected head a flash of light occurred and the air distorted where the spikes were at as if the spikes hit something before disappearing into mist.

Yin Yue spared but a slight glance sideways towards the spark in the air above her before turning her eyes back to the data stream this was the reason why she was unconcerned about the threat. The Impulsor is protected by layered energy shielding system known as Void Shields though she wasn’t exactly sure if sure is such a small projectile like the blood red spikes from the creatures would have registered on the tank threat sensors which are powerful deterrents to enemy assault units. She knew that the other eyes in the tank would have covered for her and her gambit paid off.

[Hey just because we’ve got a shield don’t cocky now] Shu Rong came through the comms. This massive heavy box of destruction had room for 4 seats, comfortably spread apart. The commander sat at the controls of the tank in the middle of the turret, while other crew members sat beside them. Just from this set up it was no rocket scince who the other crewmen were.

“Yeah yeah I know so…..are we certain about that theory?”

[Oh yeah judging from the creatures actions through the pic-feeds from the drones they seem to be at random though they are most definitely being lead by something like a hive mind if you take out the master the rest should fall apart or die off like ants without their master…….I hope.] this time it was Hwei-ru’s voice within the cockpit of the Impulsor Hwei-ru’s hands were dancing around the controls and monitor screens within the tank as was Shu Rong on the other side of Jiaying You who sat on the control chair in the middle and Bao Da Feng who was the driver. Unlike the IAVs to the sides, the Impulsor does not have any troop transport capacity -- instead, this colossal machine is dedicated to destruction alone. While there are few targets that can stand up to one of the Impulsor super-heavy tank's furious fusillades, it particularly excels at shooting down aircraft. This war machine can fire on the move, or even when locked in close combat, making it a surprisingly flexible and mobile unit despite its great size. The Impulsor is also outfitted with a pintle-mounted Heavy Autocannon, which can be replaced with an additional one atop the vehicle's turret.

Such was its effectiveness in combat and favorability in the regular army that now any of the bat creatures that was foolish enough to think that they could get close to the vehicle would taste the full might these terrible weapon systems.

“Alright I’m heading out think you guys can clear me a path if what you are proposing is true I’m going to go straight for this boss.” Yin Yue said while donning on her helmet it clamped to her armor battle-plate with a hiss of pressurization.

[Are you sure about that Yue there’s no need to play hero here we don’t even know if there even is a mastermind and if there is you can’t face it by yourself.]

“I’m sure just be ready to give me that back up when I need it.” Then with a flare of light from behind Yin Yue’s WarFrame leaped from the massive Impulsor tank into the fray bright flashes of light particles started to form and expanded around the mechanical hands till the light began to materialize into two separate weapon one being a the Type-7 Close Range Battle Halberd in her right hand and a massive rifle sized up to match the body of the WarFrame in the left hand.

She fired the rifle in her left hand at her targets riddling her prey with massive holes those that got too close she swung her heavy blade cleaving them in two.

“Ok Jiaying You give me that back up now.”

[Ok get ready it’s going to be loud.”]

From further behind her back where she left the Impulsor dual rocket pods mounted on either sides of the cockpit revealed themselves which then launched homing rockets capable of targeting multiple groups of infantry

“Wha-!” Pewwww~!!!! Before Yin Yue could even ask or respond to that comment several missiles flew pass over her head. Booooommmmm! It exploded with several Crawlers and Mantis bits flying all over the place and made a small crater in the ground.

“God damn it!” Yin Yue cried out as the missiles continued to fly over her head, while trying to keep her head from exploding was ducking and twirling around hovering just above the ground while keeping her head down of course she was watching her surroundings as well as she keep on her path. “Hey watch it man you might hit friendlies! Hey~! Are you listening?!”

[Hah! Hah!] Jiaying You was having too much fun at the moment that she didn’t even bother to answer.

Jiaying You’s POV

[“Ok Jiaying You give me that back-up now.”] “Ok get ready it’s going to be loud.”

Having received the cue for my part I just let loose with the Impulsor’s missiles I didn’t want to bother manually inputting in the coordinates so I just set it to auto. Simply because it also would be more fun that that way.

Of course knowing that there are still people out there she was kind enough to give a small heads-up “Ok~, hang on to your helmet this is going to be loud!” She said just as Jiaying You slammed down on the button for firing command.

[“Wha-!”] Pewwww~!!!! The tank slightly shook slight due to the force of the missile shooting out of the gun pods.

“Hah! Hah!”

[“God damn it!”]

[“Hey watch it man you might hit friendlies! Hey~! Are you listening?!”]

And~, it flew and in a matter of seconds I was seeing fireworks, pretty nice view I must say. Although while I was enjoying myself I think I heard a voice or something ah~ well~, I must have imagined it up or something. As I looked at the screen I can see the girls after exchanging a few words they sprint off the distance. Me in the meantime I just continued firing the missiles throughout the battlefield and the whole place was being lit up in flames.

[“Holy~!”]

[“What the Fu-!”]

[“Hey~! Who the hells shooting over there!”]

Now I am starting to hear real voices, loud and clear through the communicator and~, everyone was bitching like crazy I guess these guys were pretty darn close to the missiles sites huh. Looking at the monitors screens I couldn’t help but look towards the back of the white armored WarFrame hovering over the ground weaving its way through the chaos on its wings of fire as it soon out of range of the Impulsor to track as it went out of sight.

“Damn it Yue you better make it back alive you hear me or I swear.”

Yin Yue continued her way through the messy blood torn streets of fire and blood slaughtering any foul creature that she meet along the way. Blowing them apart with her rifle or cleaving them in twain with her heavy blade, she flew for some time before she knew it she was at the outer walls of the residential area of the school; much of it now lay in ruins. And then there Fifty yards away from where she stopped standing upon the rubble of concrete was the largest creature Yin Yue had ever seen before. Standing upon backward-hinged legs it stood tall taller than Yin Yue’s WarFrame Height. Bonded to its fists were four matched boneswords each with heavy ends as square and brutal as cleavers on its back were these pipe organ protruding from its back. A cloud of colored mist poured out of these pipes scans on her HUD show tiny miniature spores in these cloud mist. Surrounding the massive beast in a formation about twenty or thirty overall, stood other breed of creatures about the size of an elephant, and are rather ape-like in appearance, with eyes located on their faces all eyes staring down at her the moment they noticed her.

In the center of the formation the monster’s eyes glimmered with an ancient and powerful intellect, Yin Yue felt like a newborn babe compared to the intelligence staring at her through that unblinking gaze. For the moment that that man well former man and monster stared into one another’s souls.

“Hey guys I think I found the boss….I found the Swarm Lord.”

Yin Yue spoke softly into the comms net she quickly sent out a stream of data using the suit thought sensor commands punching in a couple of key commands displayed on her HUD with all but a single thought all the while she was doing that a rumble sounded in the monster’s throat, barley picked up on by even her suit’s microphone sensors designed to pick up any noise miles from her position. Muscle fibers exposed by gaps in its chitinous armor contracted; that was all the warning Yin Yue received. There was no threat display, no roar to intimidate; it simply hurled itself into the attack. Despite its size, the “Swarm Lord” moved with staggering speed past its bodyguards closing in on Yin Yue in a matter of seconds.

Its alien anatomy made its attacks difficult to predict, and Yin Yue quickly found herself fending off a blur of jagged bone. From the WarFrames enhanced vision in her helmet she could make out crystal veins glittered in the blades, generating a shimmering energy field like none she was familiar with. The Swarm Lord’s weapons met Yin Yue’s Type-7 Close Range Battle Halberd with a thunderous boom.

Yin Yue couldn’t help but reel slightly back from the blow, letting out a brief blast from her suits thrusters to steady herself, dodging narrowly to the right to avoid a return strike from the Swarm Lord’s two left-hand swords. She ignited her thrusters fully, making a short leap backwards as the swords from the right smashed into the ground where she had been standing. The energy field encasing the blade exploded the concrete ground into dust.

Yue knew right then and there that she couldn't rely on her armor plates to protect her speed did, and speed was what was keeping her alive pushing her WarFrames thruster also known as Booster Frame Units to their absolute limits flaring behind her.

The WarFrame's main propulsion system officially called MX-0-3D Maneuver Flight Unit or commonly known by the Elites as the Booster Frame a hybrid propulsion system for any WarFrame Fighter. As one of the core equipment sets of a WarFrame, the advantages that Booster Frame provide are near-limitless. A Jump Unit contains a hybrid jet-and-rocket engine system; the jet engine components having greater fuel economy during flight, and the rocket engine components allowing it to quickly output high-powered thrust for rapid maneuvering. The Unit, in actuality, refers to the twin booster components that are (usually) attached to the WarFrame's rear; depending on model, either to the waist block or the rear upper thigh. Booster Frame Units of all model and make fulfill similar functions; most contain a hybrid engine, are mounted to a WarFrame via a sub-arm that can be operated independently, giving it thrust vectoring capabilities, are capable of reverse thrust, and can be purged from the WarFrame in the event of an emergency. However, some Units may have other functions that are unique to their model. The Variable Wing Mechanism of the Booster Frame's mechanism of the engine that allows the wings on a Unit to change their vertical angle positioning; commonly used to boost the maneuverability of the WarFrame at the expense of increased operating costs of varying degrees.

During operation, the engine usually operates in either jet or rocket mode, but never both at once. In jet engine mode, the engine operates like any other turbofan jet engine. The Unit switches to rocket engine mode during instances where high maneuverability or high output thrust is required. While the rocket engine is active, the jet components of the engine continue to operate on idle rather than completely shutting down.

Yue's WarFrame also had an additional Optional Thrusters a series of smaller additional thrust-producing engines that can be attached or built into a WarFrame, distinct from the Booster Frame Units that all WarFrames have. They do not produce enough thrust for lift but are instead used as maneuverability multipliers; by mounting them on a WarFrame's back, shoulder, waist or torso block, they can be used to push a WarFrame in a given direction in an emergency maneuver or increase their speed in combat, thus giving her the higher edge of mobility in this fight.

As the beast slammed down its weapons she snapped off a quick shot with her rifle in her left hand her aim honed through hours no days of practice. The rifle or specifically cannon in her hand was the standard common WarFrame assault weapon for the Chinese military the Type-82 Tactical Assault Cannon. A .75 cal or .998 cal Assault Cannon/Rifle with detachable magazines that hold up to 50 rounds each. The gun's weapons systems can be separated into two components; a .75 cal chain gun makes up the bulk of the weapon, with a removable 81 mm mortar/grenade launcher attachment on the top front of the Assault. The Type-82 has a short stock to prevent the gun from getting in the way during close-quarters combat. It has a built-in laser device allows a greater link with the WarFrame's onboard targeting computer system, improving the weapon's accuracy.

The 81 mm grenade cut a roiling line through the air, connecting with the Swarm Lord’s lower left elbow joint. An explosion of steam carried the smell of broiled meat out towards Yin Yue the smell was so strong to creep through her helmet and into her nose also making her gag as the thing’s arm went limp.

It made no cry of pain. As it moved, it’s useless arm snagged on the ground with a total lack of human emotion, it severed the crippled limb with a sword blow before the creature quickly retreat as its bulkier and more armored bodyguards caught up as it retreat behind them Yin Yue emptied her Type-82 at the creature but the creatures bodyguards then rushed forwards

Standing shoulder to shoulder together forming a phalanx then revealing several massive armored frills that protruded from their shoulders forming a wall against the assaults cannon’s bombardment the rounds bounced off the shield wall.

“What the - ” shocked at this Yin Yue quickly materialized her M19 with a crackle of light and before she could unleashed hell on the formation before her the Swarm Lord sprang forth from the shield wall to re-engage swing its bone blade at her at break neck speed knocking the M19 out of her hand. Yin Yue leapt in the air again, jets on full burn while materializing the Type-15 Vibration Sword Han, unlike the heavy Type-7 Close Range Battle Halberd focuses on momentum and speed to inflict damage. A type of weapon that uses a combination of extremely high oscillation rates and temperatures in order to increase the cutting effectiveness of the weapon, thus this leads to the material of the blade suddenly becoming red much like heat blades but it does not ware down. Type-7 Close Range Battle Halberd However, relies more on its heavy weight and high center of gravity (located near the tip of the weapon) to achieve the same effect. As a result, it suffers from slower initial swinging speed in combat and weighs down its user during evasive maneuvers, but has greater strike power once in motion.

She then swooped low, darting in to strike and withdraw using every bit of her momentum that she can due to the weight of her weapon the force from her blows force the massive creature back slightly. Her fuel indicators began plummeting rapidly but Yin Yue remained aloft, soaring away from bonesword strikes with expertly timed exhaust bursts from her Jump Unit. Her blows left a dozen smoking scars and cracks in the Swarm Lord’s carapace shell armor. The Swarm Lord’s armor was thickest on its shoulders, head and back which she found out the hard way as her blades simply bounced off these areas when she stroke. They dueled for long minutes that felt like hours whenever she would gain the upper hand the creature’s bodyguard would rush in as it retreat in an attempt to overwhelm her. She swung her Type-7 in a wide arc no longer wielding the heavy blade with skillful grace of hourly practice but with barbaric raw might as if she was swinging a hammer instead of a blade crushing one of the armored guards head in while her Type-15 managed to sever another’s armored arm clean off before the Swarm Lord jumped back into the fray like a storm bone blades whirling spinning, falling, hacking.

After landing so many blows that the edge of her massive Type-7 heavy blade dulled its surface riddled with scratches after being forced to be used as a shield in certain moment of the duel, the Type-15 was better off but its power unit was venting massive amount of heat indicating its built in generator being overpushed after clashing with the unknown energy field surrounding the Swarm Lords bone blades, as it was unable to cut through the material a shock to Yin Yue.

Yin Yue’s breathe began to saw in between her closed teeth. Inside her helmet, sweat drew lines of wet fire down her face. At the moment there was nothing but the beat of her heart and the lactic burn of her muscles. All she saw were the blades and claws flashing towards her face.

Despite all of her hourly honed skills it could all but draw but a little blood. The Swarm Lord snapped and swung at her with undiminished might. Yin Yue knew that she needed a decisive blow soon. The Swarm Lord’s endurance would outlast her own and all it would take but one lucky strike from the beast’s weapons could end the fight long before exhaustion set in. So she dived back in again, her blades held low in the manner of a cavalryman stooping in the saddle to strike with his sabre. Jinking through swinging boneswords and into the spore cloud issuing from the Swarm Lord’s chimneys, she raked the blade of her weapons across the leader beast’s face, catching it across one eye. The chitin around the Swarm Lord’s right eye was cut down to a gleam of bone it finally then let out a roar that sound of pain for the first time since their duel as ichor and humours from its ravaged eye wet its cheek.

At the sound of its scream the beast’s guards rushed forward as Yin Yue activated her thrusters putting distance between herself and the horde as they form a defensive position in front of their leader with their armored frills deployed separating the beast from Yin Yue the two combatants face off each other from one side of the wall of flesh dividing them apart. Yin Yue waited on the other side of the flesh wall with her guard raised while eyeing the wall in front of her readying herself for anything to happen. She didn’t dare to relax she didn’t know what was coming next

The beast head then appeared behind the flesh wall of its armored guard it, it right face was cover in layer of its gore and liquid possibly is that being’s blood.

It’s now one eye locked on Yin Yue though beast couldn’t possibly her face she locked eyes with it through her helmet’s visor projection from it faceplate camera and she could see an undeniable expression of pure raw hatred radiating from its now one eye, an emotion not present before and one that Yin Yue didn’t think before from the creatures dead like eyes before could produce.

Boom~! Then suddenly several explosions appeared upon the bodyguards armored frills knocking them backwards breaking the formation and the Swarm Lord vanished from Yin Yue’s line of sight amidst the smoke.

[What the hell someone got here before us!”]

In Yin Yue’s HUD’s tactical display the ID runes of the Bernadette Félix’s Raison and Diana Brown’s Justice rushing up to her location. The Forest Cameo Color Scheme Justice with its two cannons at its hip and a Orange-Red Cameo Color Scheme WarFrame the Raison (French, "Reason") firing an incendiary weapon setting one of the creatures on fire as it whirled around on the ground as it was slowly be cooked alive.

[You okay? What were you thinking taking on all these things by yourself?!]

Another figure rushed forward this time a white armored WarFrame the Kumiho spear heading a formation of the schools training model the Gun-Ru rushing forward clashing with the bodyguard creatures her spear thrust forward into one of the creatures eyes it cried out in pain as it reeled back. A warning rune shone on Yue’s HUD as from the sky a scarlet red figure crashed into one of the armored Guards beast overhead a massive long sword resembling a Japanese ōdachi swerving it through its side. More Gun-Rus’ appeared Jump-Units flaring spraying the creatures in a rain of lead.

Revealing the figure of the Swarm Lord with its back facing her away from the battle it was running away.

[Hurry and take that thing out we’ll deal with the guards go~!] Hiyuki Hikari’s voice echoed through Yue’s helmet over the comms network from the rune signaling it coming from the red-crimson samurai WarFrame Murasama. Seeing the opening Yin Yue burst through it with her suits thrusters rushing at the retreating Swarm Lord the sound of something cutting through the air resound in her helm caught by the suit before explosion appeared around the beast causing it to stagger slightly in its steps.

[I’ll pin it down here is your chance!] A another voice came over the comms network urging Yin Yue forwards as she chased after the beast a beam of pure radiant energy cutting through the air above her piercing right through the creature’s thigh but still it ran as if nothing happened.

[What the – ] further away from the sight of where Yin Yue was at right two WarFrames side by side from one another one ocean blue the other bitch-black. The Einherjar Regen of Anastasia Volkov’s massive twin shoulder cannons was blasting away shell and shell the ground around it, while the Fail Not of Ailsa Smith was rapidly firing her sniper cannon which was not releasing a stream of radiant energy cutting through the beast armored scales but seemingly having no affect on the creature.

Exaltation quickened Yin Yue’s blood, the cure to the weariness that had slowed her. She was getting tired rapidly beyond belief, yet she couldn’t let it bother her she had to bring the beast down here and now she couldn’t let it get away, another than her pride as a Representative Elite chosen to represent her country for the National Battle Leagues Tournament that was to happen. It was also the fact that she knew instinctively if she lets this beast go it well return with a vengeance she knew it in her heart she saw it in its eye, she had to end it one way or another.

The creature baring heavy wounds still lumbered away from the battle zone in all due haste that it could it was on its last legs and it knew it this was the chance to strike it down here. Pushing her Jump Units forward she raced after it as light flashed between her hands and a large rifle weapon the same prototype that she was testing with in the early morning. As she was rushing towards the Swarm Lord the weapon radiated a dangerous light of energy from its rings bursting through the air she came upon slightly in front of the creature just as the rings were fully lit and pulled the trigger the beam flew from the weapon and missed. The beam cut through the air over the creature’s head.

She fired the prototype weapon again basting enormous amounts of raw heat aiming it in the direction path of the Swarm Lord’s face. The fusion beam bored through the air its flesh on its right face then further exploded in a swell of gore and meat the heat that nearing missed its head but still liquefied its meat and boiled off as superheated steam. She as she missed her shots she tried to fire her weapon again but a warning rune appeared revealing the weapon to be overheated as it sparked and glowed with white heat. The Swarm Lord reared slightly to its side but still keep on moving. Its cries became gurgles as its own bodily fluid dripped into its mouth from its new wound despite that it still cried out as if desperate to be free of the pain.

Then a quick blur of moment the creature slammed one of the bone blade backwards at Yin Yue caught off guard at the speed of which it preformed this action she was unprepared as the backside of the blade hit her square in the head, her Visor went dark for a brief moment as she went tumbling rolling around in the dirt not being away to see. However when she opened her eyes she could feel the cool breeze upon her skin a portion of the helmet broke clean exposing her right side of her face to the world.

Yin Yue eyes were burly she couldn’t see clearly she was aching everywhere she tried to move but slumped to her back alongside the dirt with a loud thud. Her head ached she was dizzy and it felt like her head was on fire her movements became feeble as she once again tried to get back on her feet to no avail she was losing herself, she could feel it darkness began to cloud her vision her eyes looking through two separate yet the same sight one through the burly broken visor the other through her failing naked eye of the massive burly creature running off into the wild.

“No~” she softly cried out reaching out her hand out with great effort towards the sight even as her eyes was failing her, she was in pain but nothing was more painful than the burn that slowly began to surface in her heart she had failed, she had failed to kill the beast she had allowed a threat to escape she didn’t know when it will return but it will.

“NO~!”

She had a shot at the head of the snake and she let it slip from her grasp by her failure to slay the creature their “Victory” here too was a failure caused by her hand sure they may have driven them back, but could it really be counted as a victory they failed to eliminate a threat or more specifically she did, she Yin Yue a chosen Representative Elite the top cream of the crop out of all her peers. In this moment of the highest honor, glory and reassures that she could have won for her people in this new world lost just like all that pride she had felt before gone just like the feeling beast in her sight.

“No~!” she cried out again before her hand slumped back to the ground as the darkness finally claimed her.
