Chapter 7: Survival Part Three

“I guess the Calvary is finally here huh?”

Bai Qing said looking though her suit’s optic cameras allowing her to see things further away than the naked eye can see.

She can see a small fleet aircrafts flying in an arrowhead formation heading their way from the school due to this function.

The small fleet of eleven ships of G2E9 an outdated transport aircraft no longer put into service for the military. It's a twin engine turboprop tiltrotor design, capable of both horizontal and vertical flight, including takeoff and landing.

A long-range utility aircraft, it features a large cargo bay and accommodates up to a squadron of WarFrames, for which egress is through gullwing doors on the fore section of the fuselage, two to each side. Because of the positioning of the wing, the G2E9's weight balance is nearly central, allowing for heavy payload to also be carried in the aft on the same flight, like the WarFrame's pilots and additional lightly-armored paratroopers. The aircraft also features two high-powered searchlights mounted aside of the nose cone, and a weather probe on the starboard side of the cockpit. For self defense, the G2E9 are usually with cannons or M134 miniguns. VTOL thrust is assisted by means of two shoulder-mounted jet engines, which are ducted solely into repositionable nacelles behind the wings, and can be used to provide much needed down force for takeoffs.

Within the cockpit area of the aircraft of the leading G2E9

“We’re approaching the site the enemy forces seem to have Ariel units as expected shall we deploy the drones?” the pilot asked over the radio mounted device in her helmet.

“You’ve got to ask?” a feminine voice rang over the line that echoed in her ear.

In the hanger area in another G2E9

“Approaching the combat zone in T- minus five minutes…. Multiple Hostiles incoming release the drones!”

One of the students cried out loud as the cargo doors to the sides open, a mass current of air rushed in over everything like a wave blocking out most of the noise causing the student giving the commands to shout at the top of her lungs.

The rest of the student in the cargo bay pushed towards the open doors two massive container like boxes once nearly five feet from the door they stopped.

One at each container tapped at the holoscreen on the sides of the container and it opened revealing the contents within.

Within the massive container were rows and rows of small, disc-like; one-meter wide objects as well as large hexacopter drone, with collapsible rotor-housing struts, each hexacopter is about 4 feet tall that suddenly sprang to life hovering out of the box that it was in as row by row these disc-like objects flew out of the aircraft with their propellers cutting through the air. Like hornets of a stirred up nest with its occupants within rushing out to defend what’s theirs from the oncoming intruder.

As the first container emptied it was pulled back to the inner parts of the bay area as another group pushed another container to the door.

“Alright Dragonflies and ARGUS Drones deployed activate the Dog-Fighters protocols!”

“Roger that activating the Dog-Fighters protocols!”

Dragonfly Drones; an unmanned aerial drone operated by an operator or by computer AI. It is a small, disc-like; one-meter wide aerial Drone equipped with advanced detection systems, which stay aloft by a single shrouded rotor. They are also equipped with targeting computers and one or more Lancet micro-missiles. Their primary function was to detect and occasionally destroy explosives on motorways and in buildings but these drones in particularly had portable machine guns attached.

This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.

While the ARGUS Drone was a large hexacopter drone, with collapsible rotor-housing struts, each hexacopter is about 4 feet tall, with a wingspan of about 6 and a half feet and a large dome camera mounted on the main body armed with varies armaments.

Seeing the approaching threat the bat-like creatures quickly turned their attention to the eleven G2E9s and the few dozen or more drones that they just released from its belly.

The drones rushed towards the bat creatures with great speed while firing the mounted machines on their hull felling many of the creatures as the sky

The drones and the bat creatures close in on each other and began dancing in the air once the two sides meet to the musical tones of the cries of death, rapid machine gun fire, explosions and the sound of breaking plastic and metal echoing in the air.

Though the drones were greatly outnumbered by their foe five to twenty the drones were but mindless slaves of metal as they were didn’t back down and for each drone that the bats managed to take down, the drone took at least five beasts down, with an additional two or three more with it when the drone ran out of ammunition and performed a kamikaze attack blowing itself up at a cluster of bats tightly pack together when it couldn’t return back to the G2E9s to restock.

Though despite the efforts of the mindless metal slaves the sheer numbers of the bat creatures overwhelmed the drones, with a large amount of the bats breaking away from the combat zone and head straight towards the G2E9s.

“Alright girls we’re approaching the drop site but get ready we’re coming in hot.” The pilot’s voice resounded throughout the cargo in one of the G2E9 where two rows of WarFrames stood near the ramp door.

“How hot?” The leading WarFrame at the head of the columns asked through the radio, the red crimson armor plating of that suit resembled that of that of an ancient warrior samurai.

Bang~! The aircraft sudden shook due to the gunners on board firing the G2E9’s cannons while dodging the bat creatures that managed to break through the drones and reached the G2E9s.

Immediately the leading WarFrame within the cargo bay rushed to the ramp door hitting the switch to open the door.

At that second the ramp door opened the leading WarFrame piloted unloaded the rifle that it retrieved from its thigh at the bat creatures in the air near the G2E9s felling many to the ground bellow as the other WarFrames within the cargo bay joined in on the action, adding more tunes to the musically show of death happening outside.

“There’s just too many of the bastards they’re going over run us soon jump now or we’re all going to die!”

The pilot cried out through the radio with a urgent sense of dread in her voice that the WarFrame pilots could make out.

“Jump! Jump! Jump! Now everyone out lets go~!” the leading Warframe shouted out the commands through the radio as the aircraft continued to shift around in the air like a ballay dance in the air gracefully. One of the bats that weren’t hit by any of the rounds from the G2E9 made through the barrage storm and was rushing towards the aircraft. Due to the angle of its direction being in the pilot of the G2E9s blind spot there was no way for the pilot to react to the coming threat.

That could be said of the pilot but not for the other pair of eyes within the ship. A figure rushes through the open door way of the craft and into the air in a mix blur of light blue and a flash of light as the figure sped at the bat creature.

It was the leading samurai armored WarFrame with both hands gripped around a two meter long sword handle grip at its hip slowly pulling the blade out revealing its sharp edge, Once the two were nearly a few feet apart from one another the massive nearly four meter long blade was freed from its sheath in a blur of ruthless precision its keen edge gave off a soft metallic chime from cutting through the air so swiftly.

The blade flew in an arc as the two met flying past one another the blade dance didn’t end there however it continued on in the air cutting down other bat creatures that met its edge as the first creature flew for a couple more seconds before it whole went slant and was split in half horizontally and began falling to the earth bellow.

“Damn she’s good as expected of a Representative Elite she’s on a whole other level that Hiyuki Hikari.”

“Yeah I’ll say performing a freaking over boost maneuver in a tight space almost killing us yeah sure.” The WarFrames still within commented still firing their weapons while observing the dancing fiery red crimson winged samurai in the sky.

“Oh come on now Yuk-nung you knew you were going to be fine it’s not like that kind of thing was going to kill us anyway.”

“Have some damn pride of your rank, show the others what it means to be an Elite you damn wuss, sheesh your making the rest look bad if they saw you like this.”

“What do you want from me huh I may be called an Elite but it’s not like we’re legit super soldiers you know.”

“Yeah yeah I know just said that in the moment.”

Elites, the pilots and wielders of humanities most powerful weapon the WarFrames though they maybe the “Elites” of the military and despite all the supposed enhancements that were performed on them, Elites need to regulate their bodies at regular intervals. Elites/Pilots however no matter how much augmentation is done on them they are not super-soldiers as the public would believe them to be, with the majority simply being the most skilled and disciplined soldiers - in other words, Elites/Pilots are not super-soldiers, but merely highly-trained and refined personnel possessing superior skills with access to the best equipment their respective armies have to offer compared to the standard Grunt.

However, that’s not to say for most armies and Elites/Pilots as many Elites/Pilots will opt for artificial enhancements to improve their skill-sets. Due to the enhancements many Elites needed to regulate their bodies at regular intervals.

There is no standard method of regulating an Elite’s body, nor is there a different set of standards for each army or nation. The ideal method is built up specifically for each individual Elite. The methods can go from simpler ones like meditation and suggestion to swimming within a large pool aiming for the fastest time, some would even go to lengths of solving every single problem on an answer sheet similar to a college entrance exam or playing chess against a super computer.

Thus they by far are considered the most effective and fearsome force on the battlefield, but that’s a status which is only augmented by their WarFrame. Some however being skillful enough do make their names without their WarFrames.

“So exactly is the plan here?”

“Follow her.”

The WarFrames within rushed out through the door one after the other, igniting their thrusters near their waist as two fiery wings of light burst out behind them carrying them into the skies.
