Chapter 4: Ask and you shall receive

“I see.”

Jiaying You quietly said while closing her eyes resting her chin on the back hands.

“Hope for the worst and you won’t be disappointed they said huh…..that certainly hits the mark around here.”

Yin Yue sighed in her head.

I know that this isn’t the time to be thinking of shit like that but it just popped into my head hearing the situation that we’re in.

Hell, the word Gloomy can be seen in the atmosphere right now everyone may not show it but their all pretty depressed and are being to feel stress and worried at the present situation that we’re in right now.

Its damn depressing right now no one really even knowns the right words to say at the moment I don’t think anyone even wants to say anything.

“Ok onto the next agenda what is the status of our surroundings Ning Xuemo.” Jiaying You words broke everyone out of their own worlds and focused their attention back onto the task at hand.

“Ah r-right, from what we could gather from various students from certain clubs and from images and feeds from the drones the surrounding land around the school campus appears to mostly be mountain ridges, lush forest and canyons of sorts nothing to worry about as of yet but~.”

Ning Xuemo nervously replied as she looked at her tablet.

“What?” Jiaying You asked curiously seeing Ning Xuemo hesitate like that.

“The pratol team also reported back while they were traversing through the residential areas around the campus are all intact but the people are all gone.”

“What do you mean gone?” everyone in the room upon hearing the news were gawking at Ning Xuemo.

“As I said everyone from the residential areas outside of the campus grounds are gone like they never existed in the first place.”

“I know this may sound too extreme but reports from the patrols on the wall have reported that when they were moving through the areas to the outer walls that they didn’t find anyone in the homes and multiple students in the school who went to the residential area have all said the same thing that their family and friends have all vanished.”

“Did something happen to them?” Yin Yue asked.

“Not sure the houses like I said are all intact and those who went into their homes say nothing was missing or anything nor was there any sign of any break ins or them leaving the only thing missing are the people.”

“They probably didn’t get teleported to this world along with us.” One student said out her thoughts as her family was living in the residential area as she tried contacting them but to no avail but it sounded more like she was just trying to convince herself with that idea.

Can’t say that I don’t understand how she must feel since her family is missing I don’t really even have to worry cause my own family is safe and sound in the capital city hopefully.

But the thought of the idea was more than enough to help calm the minds of those in the room.

“Sigh~, let us hope that is the case, ok what is the status of our armory Xiu Qing?”

Jiaying You asked while rubbing her template processing all that information was giving her a headache.

“Currently what we have in our arsenal are thirty Gun-Ru (steel skeleton) trainer WarFrame models which we are using to guard the walls as of right now and adding the tournament representative’s personal WarFrames and they number six so we have currently have total thirty-six WarFrame, as for fire-arms- “

Xiu Qing our chief armory manager who was in a daze relies that she was being called on as she quickly tapped away at the screen on the intel-table.

“Make that thirty-seven WarFrames you forgot about us Xiu Qing.”

Interrupting what Xiu Qing was saying I stated while pointing to myself while giving a smile trying to apologize to her for interrupting her.

“Ah~, right thank you for reminding me, ah-meh, that would be Thirty-Seven WarFrames correction, and now as for the fire-arms we have a few dozen QSZ-92s, QBU-88s, JS 9 mms, some Type 77s and several Mossberg 500s as well as Norinco HP9-1s in the armory for now anyway these numbers are not yet exacted because we’re still going through the storage blocks.”

Xiu Qing said while reading off of the list that she pulled up on the intel-table.

“Lucky we have full accountably of all the standard issued gear for the school’s security force like the Riot Sets and such but like I said we are still going through them so the numbers could still change.”

“That’s surprisingly few.” Jiaying You said feeling quite disturbed hearing about this.

Not just Jiaying You everyone who was present in the room had their faces cramped after hearing this dire report.

“I’m afraid that’s all we have as of right now, as you all already know the national guard unit that was stationed here just so happens to have been on their annual training session and they took most of the standard weaponry with them along with their WarFrames what we have now are just left overs and outdated spares that were left behind or not put into service anymore and were just given to the school for storage purposes.”

Oh, shit I didn’t realize that our situation was this bad I was aware that the national guard unit was gone but I thought that we would have more weapons than this we could barely arm even a quarter of the school with what we have.

Forget about what I said about not having to worry about our defenses even with the WarFrames.

“Wait weren’t the guards supposed to have come back already for the tournament I mean their also supposed to be included with the security detail for the tournament.”

Lien Hua Feng at my side said out loud.

To be honest even I was curious as to the reason as why the guard wasn’t back yet.

“They were supposed to be.” Meng Yi LaoShi at the table replied as all the attention went to her.

“They were supposed to arrive back at the academy today around 1500 but……”

At that very moment everyone in the room looked at the time projected at the screens at the Intel-Table it showed 12:30 while Yín Yue and the other looked at their phones or watches.

The author's content has been appropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.

“Looks to me that they didn’t make back in time for our situation.”

Meng Yi LaoShi said with her eyes closed while shaking her head side to side.

“What about the extra security forces I’ve remember receiving a report that the school has hired contract PMC companies for security as well.”

Jiaying You asked Meng Yi LaoShi as she suddenly just remembered about this detail.

”Yes I’ve managed to get in contact with an old friend of mine to provide some private contractors but they too were supposed to arrive today at 1800 today.”

“So, we have over a thousand students but we can’t even arm nearly even close to at least 30 percent of these numbers and we have less than even a company size of WarFrames and they’re not even the standard issue models, just outdated training models, we can’t even put up a proper defense force with these numbers.”

Ji Qing Wu LaoShi had her palm on her forehead clearly very disturbed by this piece of information.

“That can’t be all that’s in the armory there should be more right what about the spare junks that we have in storage chambers there should be something that we can use in there right?”

I couldn’t help but remark about our current situation before asking Xiu Qing

“Like I said before these numbers are not yet exacted because we’re still going through the storage blocks, But hopefully there should be something we can use in storage like those old Type 24s rifles a ton in fact but those are just a bunch of junk items that we use for ceremonial purposes and we might not have enough rounds for them or even the right ones.”

“Anything else?”

“There should be some old outdated gear that we found once we dig out whatever we find in the storage block after all the school is also used as a storage place for outdated equipment that the military no longer uses but I wouldn’t want to get our hopes ups.”

“But if it makes you feel better we have checked on the school’s defense systems and found it to be fully functional so we are not completely defenseless.”

Xiu Qing replied as Jiaying You acknowledged with a slight nod before turning to the Intel-desk.

“Well its better than nothing at least just help us something, anything that we could use, next on the agenda, what is the statues of our food supplies and other necessities.”

“Ah about that what we have in storage is enough food supplies that should last about……. four mouths at most.”

“Is this accurate?”

“Yes, I’m am a member of the schools cooking club so we do have access to the food storage so we do have to make sure that we know what’s is in there and how much there is and Meng Liang LaoShi herself personal checked the stock and did the calculations.”

One of the students at the table responded to Jiaying You’s questions.

“Four months huh, ha~, it’s just one thing after another here hmm…..well this was to be expected but can’t really say that it was going to be easy to fix.”

Jiaying You rubbing her forehead hearing all these reports it was clear she was starting to get frustrated.

“We could sent a search team out to look for food so that can be resolved other supplies however, that is another thing entirely.”

“Yeah like our uniforms for one we all need some new clothes none of the clothes that we have fit us anymore but better yet where in the nine hells are we supposed to find some.”

I just couldn’t help but loudly remark on that comment but hearing what I just said everyone in the room looked down at their own bodies at the baggy clothes that hung over their bodies.

“We could look for the raw Martials outside we should have the necessary equipment to make clothes.”

“Yeah~, we may also bea tech school aside from being a military academy as well but it’s not like we own every piece of machinery there is in the world, do we? We mostly deal with heavy machinery we don’t have a sewing machine.”

“I’m pretty sure there be something in the storage that we can use anyway moving on.”

Yingjie You waving her hand from side to side before tapping at the controls in front of her.

“We will figure something out on how to solve these problems in due time right now we a more pressing matter that I believe we must resolved today.”

Jiaying You stern words caused a frightful silence to occur after saying those words and the looks in her eyes became sharp and furious even I got a chill in my spine seeing that look on her face.

“We need to set up an effective government body system we’re not going to last long with what we got right now the student council can’t run the entire school by ourselves therefore I came up with a plan that I propose we should all look at and review and make whatever possible changes that you all might propose.”

Tapping away at the key-boarda highly detail plan ridiculed with bullet marks, diagrams and paragraphs popped up on the hologram in the center of the table for all to see.

Wow I must say it’s very impressive that she made something in such detail but something else besides the long paragraphs and diagrams on the screen was bothering me.

When the hell did she have the time to even write this shit!

This damn thing is almost about four to five screen pages long for crying out loud and it along been a couple of hours since we came here and before then we were inputting all the names and data of information into the computers as well as other details before coming here. Where did she have time to spare to create this plan?

“Everyone please read the plan and let us discuss and revise it as we go on.”

Thus, the conference room’s silence soon exploded into a heated discussion of planning and revising where there were moments of peaceful suggestion then to an intense heated argument and back this trend continued on for some time.

At the same time at the school walls at the east wall of the school grounds, near the check points at the wall.

“Ah man this suck why did we have to draw the short stick and have to pull guard duty again at night I rather pull duty right now.”

A female’s voice sounded from the check point room at the gate.

“Oh, stop complaining and focus on the cameras at least right now we’re inside an air-conditioned room unless you want to be outside with the others.”

“Fine alright~, but this still sucks and you know it.” The girl sitting down near the table facing the monitor screens on the table.

“Ha~, I know what you mean.” The other female in the room let out a sigh as she looks out the window.

Outside the room looking outside from the windows one can see that there were 2 to about 2.5-meter-tall humanoid beings that seemed to be cladded in steel plating armor walking alongside a handful of females dressed in matching black uniformsconsisting of a helmet: a tactical riot helmet with a face shield, the armor plate vest, pauldrons, skirting, leggings, underarm, and groin section.

What the girls were wearing was actually the HAIAN Model FBF-04 Riot Gear a protective suit that is Durable against impacts, flame, UV and chemicals having Protectors for chest, abdomen and groin, back, shoulder, arms, elbows, hands, knees and legs. the hard armor provides additional soft inner layer for vital organs composing of a Front and back torso, shoulder and arm protector, gloves, leg and foot protector, waist belt and carry case this soft armor provides flexible body action with easy wearing and removable the Fabric being fireproof oxford fabric while the Inner parts of the gear is composited of EVA foam and the Armor is made of high-intensity Polycarbonate.

“Ah~ my chest hurts this breast plates too tight, this suits far too big for me.” One of the females further back to the end of the group was struggling to keep up pace while having to keep pulling her pants up and feeling uncomfortable from the oversized baggy armor.

“Oh, quite complaining that’s the smallest sizes we’ve got and your slip is showing, oh fine I’ll help you.”

Of course, she was not the only to feel uncomfortable with the gear as they all looked like clowns wearing such oversized gear as ninety percent of them present were fidgety here and there as they were walking.

“Hah~, man its thank god there hasn’t been any trouble I mean usually in the stories and light novel when people get teleported to another world they usually get attack or something.”

One of the females lifted up her face shield while fanning herself.

“Not that I want that to happen but it could hurt to have a little bit of action to spice things up instead of just standing around here doing nothing.”

One of the metallic humanoids turned around as if in response to what she just said.

[“Hey shut the fuck up don’t you start fucking jinxing us.”]

A female sharply replied behind her.

“Oh, relax JieJie if anyone here should be worried it’s us, not all of us have a WarFrame like you can handle yourselves just fine I just want a little action right to fill my boredom.”

[“Do take care for what you wish for.”]

The female piloting the WarFrame warned before turning back around looking at the screen on her helmet’s HUD.

[“Hm~, hey what the hell is that, hey do you see this?”]

[“See what?”]

[“I’m picking up something from the drones in the sky.”]

[“Really? Well pull it up on the screen let see what we’ve got.”]

Signaling the other WarFrame the first one beckons the other over to the table as they both focused their attention on the monitor screen on their HUDs. Linking their HUDS to one of the three large hexacopter drones, with collapsible rotor-housing struts, each hexacopter is about 4 feet tall, with a wingspan of about 6 and a half feet and a large dome camera mounted on the main body that were hovering in the several meters high in the air further away from them their expression soon hardened as they started to lose color on their faces at what was be shown from the live feed coming from the drones.

[“Hey, hey this is~,” “pretty bad.” Their faces begin to pale at the sight displayed on the screen.]

[“Well~. You were just complaining about how this job was beginning to suck, you wanted excitement right.”]

“I said just a little something not that whole thing!” someone behind her immediately exclaimed.

[“Static~, static hey Control can you guys see all of this.”]

“Copy Charlie-1 we hear you we see it too, get the others inside you hear, hey raise the alarm.”

Another voice came from the radio while inside the control room the girl closest to the mic responded.

The other girl quickly went to the back of the room and afterward an alarm sounded spreading throughout the parts of the wall.

“Alert! Alert! This is a Code Red, I repeat a Code Red man your battle station this is not a drill.”

Meanwhile back at the meeting a few minutes before the alarm sounded the members at the table were in a middle of a heated battle that was reaching its peak at the moment thankfully no one started throwing anything at each other at the moment.

“Wow things are really getting heated up in here I can’t even get in on the discussion.”

Yin Yue who was standing in the side lines couldn’t help but shiver at the sight of the battle happening before her.

“Like I’m trying to say that would not work we need to do it the way that I suggested.”

“Your proposal does have some perks to it, and it could work but not in the long run we can’t just think about the problem at hand we need to be smart about this and plan ahead of time.”

“That why I propose this idea!”

Two class representatives at the table were furiously debating on a certain topic and each proposed an idea that they each strongly opposed against thus leading to the scene right now.

“Ha~, just look at these kids bickering trying to be like mature grownups ah~, youth, don’t you agree Meng Yi LaoShi.”

Ji Qing Wu LaoShi puffed out a ring of smoke looking at the person across from her.

“Shouldn’t you be trying to sort things out instead of just sitting there on the sidelines watching this unfolds like most bystanders do?”

Looking at the two grownups in the room I couldn’t help but think that way.

Seeing the situation play out this way in front of her Yin Yue couldn’t help but let out a sigh while holding her head when suddenly the alarm began to ring very loudly throughout the room it was coming from the walkie talkie not long after the door to the office room opened.

“It’s an emergency there’s been a report at the east wall there’s a massive herd of unidentified creatures heading our way.”

A student came rushing in her uniform was soaked with sweat as it stuck to her body showing off the nice curves on her body.

And I’m not turned on at all at the sight.

Seeing that didn’t even interest me in the slightest ha~, I’ve really changed huh I guess the body can have effects on the mind after all.

Oh well who cares now.

“What’s their ETA?”

“Approximately an hour and thirty minutes till they reach the miracle mile or possibly even less by the rate they’re going.”

“Get me all the Representative Elites to the meeting room and have all the available Warframes activated, have them all head over there and I want you to summon all security detail personal to the east wall at once.”
