Week 2 Business Part 8 End Before It Truly Begun

A few Greenbear Tribefolk and Cassandra's Kin made it down the Mine. The look on her face was not pleasant as she moved to greet her friend. There was one other person who looked to be of the government type and had some authority by the looks of it with them.

"You Greenbear Tribe people said something dangerous was going on here, yet I see nothing but a Spirit Tamer and his Spirits. Not even a single trace of Evil Mana swirling about." The Government Officials assessed the situation quickly as they moved about the mine. Even reaching down to touch the ground and sending ripples of a spell outward. "A pure energy is radiating from the surface so even less likely of a forbidden ritual taking place here."

The government officials were also surprised at what they were getting back. Their spells didn't give them a hint in the least about what took place or any spells cast nearby. A type of interference from the very energy itself on the mine floor that was smooth to the touch.

"I do not know what to say, Mr.Green." A Tribeswoman with more authority than the one Rexford fought earlier walked up looking around. She barely hid the look of surprise on her face. "I have come here before and the Mine was quite evil whenever I tried to travel deep inside. Never this far though and this purity you speak of is only here and in the opening. Nothing was in the middle."

The opening was left over from the protection Rexford put inside. As for the corridor it most likely broke from everything going on.

Cassandra went over to Rexford with her Kin as a display of their stance. She started to explain what took place outside and what was currently going on in the last few hours that they conversed. Starting with Mr.Green and his role.

Mr.Green was an actual Inspector of the Government for those in the Supernatural scene. Checking that nothing illegal was going on or someone was abusing their authority by causing mass mayhem and destruction. Bad enough they were even more negligent than the government in moving to take care of problems.

But when they did so it was thorough and cleaned up with nothing left for debate. No appeals or negotiations in the decision itself. Unless you had the power to back it up of course, for the regular government it was all about money and interests.

A slaughter going on for one or two centuries is not a big deal unless someone reports it. The various Tribefolk did not and even kept it in-house. Up until Rexford got involved and started making a big mess by destroying all of the Shrines and making the situation unavoidable.

Reporting him while not directly doing so to get aid from officials.

A few of them thought he was going to report to the Government at some point. But the changes to the Shrines and destruction of what was going on alerted the Government Officals that watched over this area. They just needed an excuse and thanks to the Greenbear Tribe they had it.

"Be careful, the Government is not to be trifled with here." Cassandra reminded after informing him only once before. 'These spirits look stronger than before.. and stronger from the last brief encounter.'

"Right." Rexford got up since his bones were done realigning and his general wounds were taken care of because of his breakthrough. "Well this is my property and I did nothing wrong."

His eyes trailed over the other Government workers and he was slightly taken back at the discovery. They weren't really there or to be precise they were a type of construct or something.

Made of energy of some sort but not just a single type.

"About that sir," Mr.Green walked up to Rexford and sized him up. The fact his passive pressure did nothing and the young man in front of him had a firm cultivation base earned some respect. "There is a land dispute on who this place belongs to really."

The Greenbear Tribe started to pay close attention now. One or two smirked as they hoped Rexford would cause a fight or just get himself arrested. It was bad enough what happened to their people before but the destruction of the Shrines was also an issue.

True they couldn't deal with the defilement of the places but they were completely ruined by some spirits and with how many were with Rexford it didn't take much for them to pin it on him.

Pulling out a check, he handed it over to Rexford for damages and anything else going on. In return, Rexford pulled out the ownership agreement he acquired before arriving and handed it over. The place had turned into too much trouble and pissed him off. Not to mention all those 0's worked way more in his favor right now than an investment.

Help support creative writers by finding and reading their stories on the original site.

Especially one that went so bad already and almost cost him his life. He needed to hire someone to look deep into the places he purchased from now on. Not just land disputes but closer supernatural involvement.

The sooner he got away from this situation the better off he would be with this place. For peace of mind he should cut his losses and doing so would give him a supply of mental torment to push his mental cultivation.

One of Cassandra's Kin was a notary and enough witnesses were there for the sign-over. Rexford was not shy or cared after he signed. He immediately deposited the check via a mobile deposit into his business account.

Of course, such a large deposit would take some time to clear. But he did have some gems and small bits of gold to sell.

"I will pack up my stuff and be out in a few hours of this state and community. With no real desire to deal with them unless absolutely necessary." Rexford moved to leave as the check was three times what he paid for the place and he already had a buttload of gems and metal taken from after the fight as well. "Whatever else happens here has nothing to do with me."

Plus the dispersment of Rich Qi from his outburst during the aftermath of the fight made it best if he would leave. The purification of the Evil Mana at least causes a change to his Glyphs so he knew they were not foolproof.

"Of course." Mr.Green was a little disappointed as he thought the young man would fight over the land. Either he didn't know about the Rich Mana in the area or was just a fool about its worth. "Have a good day."

As Rexford and Company were leaving, the Greenbear Tribefolk leader tried talking to him. But of course, he refused to do so as a bit of the situation was their fault and they did steal from him before. If not for that fight he wouldn't have needed time to rest and the outside help he brought in could have been used for something else.

Like helping to deal with the Warlock and gaining the ritual completely.

As Rexford and company left, the Government Officials spoke in-depth with the Greenbear Tribe. Very thoroughly on the state of the Mine and who it belonged to.

The Mine would be split between them 40/60 with the Government agreeing to help them repair their Shrines as well. They were not even going to take anything from the future proceeds garnered either. But the mine was more than enough with the purity it exuded.

The tribesfolk had no problem considering they didn't use this type of energy besides for purification ceremonies. With the Shrines fixed in the future, they could use their old methods.

Change of plans-

.

Luigi and Cheryl were busy talking to the locals they roped in for the job opportunity. Breaking the news that the property was seized by the government due to conflict with the Greenbear Tribe did not help the situation.

Cassandra didn't get involved as she was busy explaining to her grandfather what happened and making sure he understood Rexford was not upset and was carrying on as normal.

"This will work." By purchasing a few small L.L.Cs that were going under in the area he would at least be able to keep his word to those he acquired. There was no reason not to develop certain travel operations and have local spies. "I need your attention."

The gathered locals piped down from the strength of his voice really easily. Plus his allure had increased with the breakthrough just a bit.

"We have three small companies in the area now so change of plans. Two of the properties are next to each other and the other is about a mile from them. The pay is gonna be 600 a week flat and 250 if one works the weekend." He understood it was not what they were wanting but it would have to do. "One of the companies' job will be to look for properties that people no longer want or can afford to maintain. The next is to find out what schools have terrible reputations so you will need to obtain your Private Investigator license. The last is an animal shelter for strays. This facility is the one that is the furthest away and requires you not to be afraid of animals."

"Is the pay the same for all three?" An older gentleman asked.

"Yes, it is, but only for the first month. Afterward, the first set of repairs will be done and plans will be drawn up for the actual work and process." Rexford let them talk about that for a bit then continued on. "For those who are my travelers and have commercial licenses, I have a job for you that won't start until next month. Your job is that of transport of the disposed of material from the locations as well driving to job sites to pick up trash."

"Wait, are we some type of environmentalist company or something?" A teenager asked.

"That job has not gone away, so yes. Unfortunately due to the loss of the mine, the search for a decent healthcare provider will wait a little. But we still need the good P.R. so those who are signed up for that you are still on trash duty and your pay rate has not changed at all." Rexford smiled internally as the majority of them who had teens looking for work were happy. "Any of those looking to relocate please continue with the same policy and methods we discussed before."

"So ... the company took a hit before it started." Walter Prescott was still involved and was glad he did so. "But you now have three other companies under you and keep your deal with the locals. I can definitely keep working with someone like you."

"Who knew you had it in you to be decent." Cassandra said with a little cheek to Walter. "Aren't you glad I got you involved?" Though she said this, quite a few doubts plagued her.

Like what happened and why Rexford refused to speak with the Greenbear Tribe woman. By the sound of some of his talking while they waited he was not gonna allow anyone tied to them to work for him either. Some very strict policies to prevent them from being hired with the backing of the loss of the Mine as a valid excuse.

Not to mention he did bring up how they stole from him. As the locals started to disperse with happy faces, Rexford turned to Luigi and Cheryl. Offering her a liaison job and to be an Assistant to Luigi for these people. After all, she knew quite a bit of them and this area.

"Happy to be working for you boss!" The former stewardess said happily. "But I have a small request!"
