Chapter 8: One More Movement

Chapter 8: One More Movement

Sitting there with his tears streaming down his cheeks, Spirit watched as one of his closest friends died right in front of him. Someone he had spent so much time with for so much of his life. Which hadn't had much of anything like friends due to the life he had lived. Being forced to be a social recluse as the result of his fathers job, which resulted in him not making much friends. The only times he was even able to do any extracurricular activities were for school clubs, and during the summer when his father was off on month long business trips.

It was on one of those summer outings that he met the group of people who later became his friends.

And now, he had to tell one of his closest friends goodbye.

He had held out hope that she would pull through, had held out hope that this was like any other virus or disease that could get better over time.

"ahhh" A small groan had left Hana's body, almost like one final exhale that managed to escape. It was quiet, too quiet for Spirit to pick up on in his current state.

"God dammit!" Spirit roared, feeling completely useless, feeling helpless.

Burying his face into his hands, Spirit's entire body shook as he finally gave into his emotions, and exhaustion filled pain. So much so he hadn't realized the simple fact that Hana's chest was still rising and falling. Even though he couldn't have really noticed that due to the darkness of the room.

"Ahhhhh"

The only thing that allowed him to notice was the sudden thud on the ground. Slowly pulling his hands away from his face, he'd look at what was supposed to be Hana's lifeless body as it slowly rose up from the ground. A small trickle of blood dripping down her cheek.

His voice caught in his throat as pure terror started gripping at him. The truth of the matter finally sank in as her body began shambling in his direction. Almost as if she could sense where he was.

"H-hana don't do this!" Spirit yelled out in panic as she lunged at him, forcing him to the ground with a mighty crash. Holding his hands out keeping her as far away from him as he could. Though that didn't mean much when her hands were gripping his shirt tightly.

He glanced around the room searching for something he could use to defend himself, but with it being so dark. He couldn't find anything of use, he had to keep her from biting her.

Feeling his shirt beginning to rip and tear away from his body, revealing the light olive color of the skin underneath. His panic began to rise higher and higher, as he mustered all the remaining strength his exhausted body had left. Pushing her away from him, allowing him time to quickly scramble off the ground, and towards the door of the room.

The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

Dylan came to in a daze, hearing Spirits startled cry. Or at least he thought he did, as he sat up rubbing the back of his head that had grown sore from being pressed against the wall for so long. Having positioned himself right outside of the room they had placed Hana in so she could rest properly.

He personally hoped that her condition hadn't gotten worse, if anything he hoped that it was improving. Even if just a little.

Sitting in the darkness, Dylan blinked thinking that for a moment he had gone blind. It was then he realized that it was incredibly warm, too warm in fact for the buildings air conditioning being on. That was the moment he realized the power wasn't on.

When was it turned off?

That was the question that came to mind before quickly being whisked away. By the insane laughter mixed with pleas for help.

Kicking into high gear he rushed down the hall towards the lobby, tripping over himself in the darkness. Managing to stay upright, he pressed on stopping short at the sight of moonlight coated arms having busted through the door each having taken ahold of Tsuki.

Laughing, crying, and yelling. Tsuki struggled against the grip of the many hands of the undead. Feeling the fingers of each of the undead digging into her skin, the pain compounding the onset of insanity she was going through.

Seeing Dylan in the faint glimmer of moonlight that shone through the holes made through the door. Hope. That was the one thing that rose up from within her the moment she saw him. It was the main thing that cut through her insanity.

The next emotion that tore through her was Fear. Fear of dying, fear of becoming one of the very things that had their hold on her.

"Dylan help me! Please don't let me die here!" Tsuki cried out with a loud shrill, which increased the fervor of the hands grabbing. Which forced pain to tear through her body even more as she felt herself being pulled more into the door, more into the barricade. Feeling the legs of chairs being pressed against her back to a painful degree. It felt almost as if her body was about to break apart.

Watching in horror, frozen in place with fear Dylan didn't know what to do, did he go to grab her? Did he risk his life?

Looking at Tsuki he could see her fear, the incredible ferocity of it, and it pained him to be helpless.

"Dylan! Please, please, please plea-"

Tsuki's pleas for help would be cut off by a hand forcing through the door, and the barricade covering her mouth muffling her cries for help. The new hand gripped with such force that it began to tear up the skin on her face, leaving deep gashes.

It was in this moment Tsuki's life flashed before her eyes, from her childhood, to her teen years, and now into her young adult years. Memories of the things she's done, the plans she made for her life. So many unfinished things she wanted to do. That was all tore away from her, piece by piece. With each part of her body that was torn away.

Piece by piece feeling the claws of death ripping away at her. Piece by piece taking her life from her, as they pulled her harder against the barricade, a loud crack followed by the painful noises that followed as a leg of one of the tables used to barricade the door. Forced itself through her body, spouting blood along the floor.
