Xandria stayed by Spirit's side over the course of the last couple of hours watching as his health continued to deteriorate. Her emotionless gaze staying on him, occasionally leaving him to scan the area for anything that could pose his body danger. Having tried getting ahold of the doctor, and not getting through to him it left her with only one real option. To sit there, and watch him die.
She'd done what she could to make him as comfortable as possible, placing her cloak over his body to help preserve any body heat that remained. She had found some pieces of clothes and bundled them together enough to make a pillow for his head to rest on.
She watched as his skin began to grow paler and paler with the more he bled out. Out of not knowing what to do, she crawled under the cloak next to him gently pressing herself against Spirit's body hoping to warm him up in the process. Draping her arm around him gently as to not cause him any further pain.
Returning to consciousness feeling the slight presence of warmth on the left side of his body. Spirit glanced over his vision barely able to make out just who it was. Everything was cold, he couldn't even put two and two together.
Everything was so scattered, so fuzzy. It almost felt as if he weren't even here in the first place. Almost as if he'd wake up from this nightmare and reawaken back in his bed. That had to be the case, it had to be a dream.
Almost as if on queue the hallucinations began to set in as the cold sensation suddenly left his body. Instead he felt warm and cozy. Upon blinking. Spirit found himself back in his room in the rural district of Tsukana city.
Looking around everything was as it should be. The posters of his favorite anime characters and actors, along with a few of his favorite musicians and bands. His desk was to the right along with his computer and several notebooks he used when long forming his homework.
Sliding out of his bed his feet gently touched the ground as he walked out of his room, to find himself suddenly in the middle of the hot pot place he and his friends frequently visited. Blinking in surprise as he looked back to the door. The only sight he could see was the bamboo wall.
"Spirit come on! The hot pot is almost ready!" Hana's voice rang out from the other side of the veil that separated the booth from the rest of the restaurant.
"Yeah! Come on! It's spicy just how you like it!" Tsuki's voice joined in.
If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
"What about Shiro, Yui, and Kuro?" Spirit questioned suddenly feeling unsure.
"They said they'd be late, something about picking up some Pokémon from the store for a Mystery Gift. " Tsuki responded.
That definitely sounded like something Shiro and Kuro would do, but not something Yui would do. Would she?
She probably could if she put her mind to it, but with all the work shoved to her by the school and by her own parents with the Inn that they ran. Did she really have the time to play games? Shaking that question from his head. He barely took a step when he barely caught a glimpse of the outside world.
"wake up"
It was pitch black. No light, nothing. He couldn't even make out any buildings that existed beyond the confines of the building he was in.
"Uh guys...I think the world broke, I don't see anything outside." Spirit said looking back towards the booth as it also seemed dark and abyss like. "Hana...? Tsuki...?"
"Wake up."
Slowly walking towards the booth reaching out for it, his hand stopped mere inches from it.
"WAKE UP"
Looking around trying to find the source of the voice that sounded almost familiar. Spirit noticed that he was now surrounded by the black void and now had just the floor he stood upon and the booth right in front of him.
Reaching out once more with his breath caught as he noticed the sight of his hand. Covered in blood, bruised and battered. Parts of his bones were noticeably broken, it was a miracle all on its own that he was about to even move his arm.
"SPIRIT WAKE THE FUCK UP"
With that Spirit found himself waking up his vision blurrier than it'd ever been before being shaken roughly. Two hands gripped his shoulders tightly causing his body to cry out in a numb sensation he could only think was pain.
"Thank god you're still alive" Damian breathed a sigh of relief looking over to Xandria wishing he could strangle the girl. But if he did it now, the could would most likely die. In an act of desperation he pulled out his phone calling Katana back up.
Answering after five rings Katana didn't sound happy to be interrupted from his gaming. Again.
"What the fuck do you want?"
"I need you translate for me, I don't know any Japanese and need to figure out a situation." Damian growled at his friend.
"Okay." Katana said taking the attitude out of his voice.
"How long has he been like this?" Damian spoke and was immediately respoken by Katana in Japanese.
"Six hours."
This wasn't good. There was nothing he could do medically to save his life as he had lost a great bit of blood, and was almost lost to them.
"He's going to die." Damian spoke softly as it was translated for him as he looked over in Xandria's direction. To see a face still devoid of emotion.
"I can save him...he just needs to die for me to." Xandria spoke insinuating the one thing that Damian didn't want to hear in this moment. The one outcome that was never supposed to happen to begin with.
But it was the only choice available to them. They would have to risk it.
"How about it kid? Do you want her to save your life?" Damian questioned looking at him in hopes he was lucid enough to manage just one syllable.
