Miguel gently carried all three sedated kids upstairs and carefully laid them on a bed he found in one of the rooms within the house. He meticulously searched the rest of the house, determined to find any other kidnapped individuals, particularly children. He was vigilant in his exploration, scouring each room and corner to ensure no one else had been taken captive. Luckily there was none.
During his thorough search, Miguel discovered bundles of cash totaling a substantial sum of a fifty thousand dollars, as well as additional firearms. He opted to store them safely within his digital storage space. He then instructed his AI to retrieve any other useful items from the stored bodies, a task which the AI executed as requested.
As the AI did his bidding, three lighters, three hundred dollars, five handguns and three automatic guns were added to his inventory. There was also a key to a car the AI chose not to discard. "Why is the car key useful AI?" Miguel asked it with a bit of a confusion.
"Sir, the car that this key unlocks is considered quite a nice car by human standards. So, I categorized it as useful. The car is parked in the garage sir." Miguel was stunned but decided to check it out after he dealt with the issue at hand. He just instructed the AI to discard the bodies.
He then proceeded to wipe any proof that he might have left in the house that might potentially come back and bite him in the ass. After an hour of work, he was done.
'AI, can you call 911 and send them here? The kids looks like they need medical attention. Make my call anonymous.' Miguel said to the AI while looking at the sleeping kids.
"Sir, calling 911 is going to be troublesome for these kids. They are kids of illegal immigrants from Columbia. These kids are likely to be kidnapped from a neighbourhood with Colombians and their parents might be put in a pickle if the feds know about their status. I went through the federal servers and these kids are yet to be put on missing list and these kids don't have any identity in the system. So, sir, I would suggest a bit of discretion while handling this. The kids are not in any immediate danger and they will wake up in approximately half an hour, so delivering them to their parents after they wake up might be a good call, sir." The AI gave its analysis on the current situation.
'Damn, that complicates things. No wonder those bastards targeted these kids. They knew nobody was coming looking for them.' Miguel thought while rubbing his temples. These were the kids of people who ran away from their homeland, leaving their identities and culture behind. They had hoped to find a better future for their children in America, but they had to live in constant fear of being discovered and deported. They probably had no idea who had taken their kids or why, but they knew they couldn't approach the authorities to help them.
While he was thinking about what he could do, his head buzzed a bit and his AI spoke. "Sir, I have tracked their last seen locations and they all live in a street approximately ten kilometers from here. I have uploaded the route map to the interface sir. You can take the car outside and let me worry about the traffic cams and cops." Miguel nodded as he knew this was the better option than calling the cops.
Miguel decided to wait for a while to see if the kids woke from their sedated sleep. After half an hour, the kids woke up groggily just like the AI predicted. Their wide, innocent eyes darted around the unfamiliar surroundings, and the realization began to sink in that they were far from their home. Panic and confusion were written all over their faces, but Miguel was prepared for this.
With a calm and soothing voice, he began speaking to them in Spanish, hoping to ease their fear. "Hola, niños. No tengan miedo, están a salvo ahora," he said softly, a warm smile on his face. "Mi nombre es Miguel, y estoy aquí para ayudarte. Tus padres están a salvo, y ya no estás con la gente mala. Encontraremos la manera de reunirte con tu familia." {"My name is Miguel, and I'm here to help you. Your parents are safe, and you're no longer with the bad people. We'll find a way to reunite you with your family."}
The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.
He made sure his words were gentle and filled with reassurance, avoiding any sudden movements that might startle them. As the kids continued to blink and adjust to their new reality, he reached out a hand to gently touch one of their shoulders, offering a comforting presence. They just nodded but I knew that they didn't trust me yet. I just got up and helped the kids to stand up. They were not able to stand up. They stumbled as soon as they tried to. Miguel just gently carried all the three kids one by one outside to the garage.
He just put down the children near the garage. When he opened the garage door, the sight in front of him made him excited.
It was a 1970 Plymouth Hemi Cuda. It was a true beauty to behold. It was a black variant with red stripes.(image in the comments). Miguel looked at the beast in front of him and got into the car. The interior had some stench probably from smoking weed inside the car. He hurried back inside and carried the three kids to his car. He secured them with seat belts and just sat on the driver's seat. He then remembered the rottweiler he had to knockout before. When he reached the front lawn, the dog was absent. Where the dog went, it still remains a mystery.
He walked back to the car. He got in the driver's seat. This was his first time behind the wheels of a car. But he was backed by the skills of Frank Moses, who was a pretty skilled driver. He slid into the driver's seat, feeling the leather upholstery and the metal pedals. He gripped the steering wheel and looked at the dashboard, where various gauges and buttons were displayed. He took a deep breath and inserted the key into the ignition, turning it with a click. The engine roared to life, sending a powerful vibration through the car. He could hear the growl of the V8 engine, which sounded like a beast ready to unleash its fury. He knew this was not an ordinary car. Someone had spent a lot of money and time to modify it for speed and performance. And now it was his to keep. He put on his seat belt and checked the rear-view mirror, making sure that the kids were alright. He shifted the gear to drive and pressed the gas pedal gently, feeling the car move forward. He steered the car out of the garage and onto the road, joining the traffic. He smiled as he felt the thrill of driving for the first time.
As Miguel took the wheel, it felt a bit like getting back on a bicycle after years of not riding. He wobbled at first, but it didn't take long for his driving instincts to kick in. The AI had given him a route with fewer surveillance points, a cautious choice to ensure that he stayed off the radar. He looked at the kids who were clearly tired and just proceeded to drive a bit faster.
The car galloped through the road and thanks to the cars incredible power and AI's assistance, he reached his destination within no time without attracting any trouble. What was left was to find these kid's parents or guardians. Miguel decided to ask the kids.
"Niños, saben dónde están ubicadas sus casas?" {"Kids do you know where your houses are located?"}
One of the boys answered yes and from what he learned, his name was Diego and the girl, Nina was his sister and the other boy was named Mateo, was his friend from next door. Miguel just drove to the direction that the kid gave him and reached his destination. He wondered what their parents were going through, and if they even knew where their children were.
The destination was a modest apartment complex and he decided to carry the kids to their respective houses. When he reached the floor which the kids live, he saw that the house where Mateo lived in was locked. But the adjacent apartment had signs of occupants.
The kids were overjoyed to be back and he rang the bell. There was noise of movement and a woman saying that she will get the door in Spanish. The voice he heard sounded a little too familiar, but he didn't think much of it. He put the kids down and supported them to prevent them from falling. But except for the girl, the kids were able to stand upright. He kept on holding the girl. After a few seconds the door was opened. The woman who opened the door gasped and that was when Miguel identified the person in front of him. It was Gloria Delgado Pritchett. He just looked at the woman with a slightly slack jaw.
