(3rd Person PoV)
Dominic Toretto already knew that a foul play was involved when he knew that his wife was dead. All he wanted now was a target to find. He had plans to investigate the scenes today, but it seems that god has sent the details he wanted his way.
Dominic and Miguel were sitting face to face around a table in the house. Mia was standing nearby with a very mixed emotions being displayed on her face.
"Now, tell me kid. What happened to my wife? Who killed her?" Dom said while keeping his voice calm.
"Well, Dom what happened with Letty is not as simple as you would like. If I have to start from the beginning, I would have to start from the day that you abandoned her and disappeared." Dom cringed at that statement. It seems that it hit a soft spot in him. But Miguel continued. "As per my sources, she made a deal with the cops to get you your freedom, Dom. She did it for you." That was like a trigger switch for Dom. He suddenly stood up and pinned Miguel to the wall. "What kind of bullshit are you telling me? Why would she do that?
Miguel just shook his head and just gripped Dom's arm and removed it from his collar without much effort. Dom was a bit surprised but there were other pressing matters at hand.
"Believe it or not Dom, she did that all for you. You left her Dom. That hurt her than you think. It was painful for her to not be with you. All she ever wanted was to settle down with you and she felt that she had a chance if she did a deal with the cops." Every word that came out of Miguel's mouth seems to just make the iron-willed man in front of him to break down. "So, she approached your old friend Brian O'Connor and made a deal with the FBI"
"Brian?" Mia who was silent till now spoke up with a great amount of surprise to her voice.
"Well, yes Ms. Toretto, he was approached by Letty on her own accord. Letty took the deal given to her. She wanted Dom's name cleared in exchange for infiltrating a cartel run by a man that goes by the name Braga. He is the biggest heroin kingpin right now and FBI has been in the dark about his identity and they needed to bring his ops down. They have been trying for a while but every time they send someone in, they all returned in body bags. Letty knew the risk of the job, but took it and was close to some answers, I guess. She was killed off. Just like that."
"Now, I have his entire details that I collected from some sources and that includes how he operates and his real identity." Miguel took a file from his side bag he carried and gave it to Toretto. "The file mentions everything that you should know about Braga and his known associates. You should really start with exhibit A, Fenix Calderon. If I am not wrong, he's the one that gunned down Letty." Hearing that Dom's hands just clenched tight.

Now before I decided to talk to Dom, I had already thought about what to say and what to keep it to myself. At first, I felt like giving the full version. The entire details about Letty's survival and the man behind her disappearance, Owen Shaw. But that was till I knew how messed up this world can be.
This world, even though is a replica of the movies, there are quite a number of factors that might cause things to derail and never work as I would like it to. Plus, there was some god who was seeking entertainment from what is going on. If he decides to press a wrong button, it will be game over.
If Owen Shaw knows that Dom is after Letty, he might just kill Letty and just disappear. Also, I needed Dom to be fueled by the need for revenge as that's how he eventually goes after Braga and in turn gets arrested and thus paving way for the future plots. Telling him that Owen Shaw is behind this might not have the best outcome as Dom is yet to have the resources or the support of the team or the government.
A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
All the future enemies of Dominic are eventually going to be my mission objectives and I had to lure them out before I can actually take them out and complete the missions.
In reality, there were only two real threats that I had to watch out for: Cipher and Dante. I needed to take them down before they could cause any real damage.
As far as I knew, Dante was present in Rio during the events of the fifth movie. Killing him would require some help, as someone would need to deal with his brother's army and isolate him.
The other person I needed to get to, Cipher, was probably the most difficult one to kill as she is just a ghost as of now. And she won't be coming out of her den if she doesn't lose Owen Shaw, whom she sends to get the nightshade device. And there was also the fact that Dom or his team wouldn't have the resources to face Shaw and other problems that might come their way, if they don't pull off the heist in Rio.
So, after weighing the pros and cons, I decided to stick with the original plot and change it when the time is right and just clear the missions to get that damn god's attention off my back. So, I kept the information about Letty's situation in the dark, only to be unveiled if needed. And it was not as if I had any solid evidence for her disappearance.
"What do you want in return kid? I am not naive enough to believe that you are doing this without expecting anything back. What do you need?" Dom asked after going through the files that I just gave him.
"I need Braga. I need him alive." Hearing my demand, Dom was a bit conflicted but eventually he just nodded.
"I will get you the man who can get you near Braga. Oh, remember something. The real Braga will be in LA in few days. He is masquerading as Ramon Campos, who is actually his partner." Dom just nodded hearing that piece of information.
"Well, it's time for me to go. Meet me at the 8th street around 12 in the noon. We will meet the guy and 'request' him to give you a place in the race. And Dom, watch your back and don't do anything stupid."
When I got out of the house, it was pretty late. 'Shit, it's hard to find a cab now', I just groaned. But as though knowing my trouble, I heard Mia call out. "Do you need a ride back home?" I saw her walking towards me from the house.
"Yeah, I can really use one." Mia just smiled and just went to fetch her car. I got in her 2003 model Honda Acura NSX.
For most of the journey we didn't speak. But when we reached a proxy drop location I gave her that was a bit far away from my house, she just stopped the car and looked at me.
"Thank you for what you just did Miguel. I really don't want Dom to pursue this any further. But knowing my brother, he won't listen to me even if I try. Promise me something Miguel. Please don't let my brother walk into some trap. He's blinded by his anger and he might do something foolish." She said while having a pleading look on her face.
"Don't worry about that Mia, I will look after him." I just smiled and after that she left. I walked back home and just sneaked back into my room as I went out. I changed into my night cloths and just laid down on my bed.
I had paved the way for the future. All I had to do is wait for opportunities and clear the threats. Tomorrow was a holiday and soon my schools will have its vacation for Christmas. I need to have some strong alibis to get out of the house without alerting my parents. Thinking about the future I just closed my eyes and soon sleep took over me.
The next day I woke up early and decided to go for the daily run. It seems that my parents were still fast asleep. as I reached the park, I couldn't help but remember what went down here the previous morning. Even though it still gave me bad feeling, it was noticeably less and almost insignificant. I just started working out taking my mind off the things.
I was finishing stretching when I saw my sparring partner, jog towards me.
"Hey Penny, what happened yesterday. I was really looking forward to spar with you again you know." I leisurely said as she stopped beside me.
"Oh, don't miss me too much, you know guys aren't my type." She just said sassily and started stretching too. I just laughed at her comeback.
We sparred for quite a while. And worked out while having some jokes here and there. When we were done, we just sat down on a bench and just to take a break.
"What are you doing during your summer vacations?" Penny asked me out of nowhere.
"Well that was random. I don't know, gotta find a part time job" I answered with some confusion about where this conversation was going.
"Well, this summer my dad is actually looking for some part time teachers to cover the classes at the studio. Would you like to join our dojo for a part time gig?" she asked me and I was fairly surprised.
"Well, yeah I can try to. But I really don't know for how long I can be there. How's the pay?" I asked her.
"Uh…the pay's probably around ten dollars per hour of work. But if my dad really sees you fight, I guess he will pay more. Is that alright?"
Well that was not a bad offer and I really needed some part time job. "Well I guess I will take the job. Well I will call if something changes." I said and Penny just nodded.
We talked for a bit and went different ways. I jogged back. I got a shower and dressed and went downstairs to have meet my parents who apparently woke up a bit late today. They were in a bit of a rush and they had a quick breakfast and headed for work. Finally, I was alone. I equipped my nano armor inside my cloths and retrieved the guns that I got from the dealers and checked it. It had full magazine and didn't seem to have any problem. I just put them back in the storage space and headed out at eleven to meet Dom at the rendezvous point.
