Alviss spent the next couples of days fully recuperating. During that time he learned more about the tribe and a little bit of the world. But that knowledge was limited as they never interacted with any other form of civilization. It was also during that time that Ayus started to call Alviss, husband. At first he was adamant of it but slowly resigned as Ayus showed no sign of stopping.
The sounds of weapons could be heard throughout the village. The noise came from the training area training it was also where the amazon would sharpen their skills. Currently the only ones training were Alviss and Ayus. They were training with their weapons.
Alviss charged in with a downward swing while Ayus blocked it with her spear. They began slashing and parrying each other’s attack. While fighting, his sword sometimes glowed with a bright light for a split second. Even though Alviss could keep up, Ayus ultimately held more experience when it came to using weapons. Soon the tide shifted and Alviss was disarmed.
The sword flew away and the match ended. “That makes it the seventh lose in a row for me.” Alviss suppressed a sigh as he went over to grab the sword. “I may be strong but I can’t even hold a weapon right.”
“Husband, continue?” Alviss shook his head to indicate that they were taking a break. He went over and opened the infinity bag and grabbed out a water canteen for each of them. While drinking he called to God once more.
“It’s been a while. So what is it that you need now?” Alviss took a big swig before talking back. “During our training my sword would sometime glow, is it another ability of the sword?”
God didn’t responded immediately as he continued to drink. “I see. I didn’t think it would be this soon.”
“This soon? What are you talking about” Alviss started to straighten up as this was serious. “It’s not anything bad if you’re wondering. If anything its a good thing, essentially you’re learning Skills.”
“Skills? What the heck are skills?”
“Have you ever play an MMO before?” Alviss was confused by God’s response but still responded. “Yea, a couple. Why?”
“Well skills are similar to how those MMO work. Let me explain, in this world there exist magic and skills. Skills are techniques that were specialized in fighting beyond normal limits.”
It took a moment before Alviss finally realized what God was trying to say. “Ohh, I get. So it’s those call out attacks. So what you’re saying is that I can use a skill to destroy waves of enemy with a single slash?”
“Well to not that extent, but it seems that you have a firm grasp of it. Now then, grab your bag and reach in there and look for a special book.” Alviss did as God told, after a couple of seconds, he grabbed a book.
“This book will better help you regarding learning skills. It will only teach you the basics, but it will still be beneficial to you.” Alviss opened it and flipped through the pages in wonder. “Wow, wait, what about new more advanced skills?”
“Well it’s like I said before, you need to train if you want to get stronger. That includes training to both skills and magic. If that’s all I’ll be leaving.” The conversation ended and Alviss was back to reality.
“Husband?” Alviss looked over and quickly calmed Ayus down. After a little while they went their separate ways. Alviss continued to train and learn the skills.
Alviss spent the next two hours, simply looking over the books. He carefully read each different skills along with what it does and how to perform it. Some were pretty simply while other took a reread or two.
He was about halfway through when he decided to try them out. He walked over to one of the dummies and practice. “Let’s see. Hold my stance like this, footing here, and then attack. All right, |Piercing slash.|”
His body moved fluently as if it moved on its own. The blade glowed a white light and he performed the move exactly like it showed in the book. A deep gash mark could be seen as Alviss stared in awe.
Soon a big child like grin appeared on his face as he celebrated. Jumping up and down and laughing at the top of his lungs. The other amazon looked at him in puzzlement.
“All right, all right. That’s one skill down, let’s see what else I can do.
Alviss then spent the next couple of hours trying out the different skills that he read up on. Some were rather basic attacks but were effective nonetheless. By the end of he learned about everything that he read up to that point.
While trying out the techniques his body would sometime glow as well, just after he successfully perform the skill. “Ohh, I see. So when my body glows, that means I successfully learned the skill. That’s a nice indication.”
By the end of it, Alviss was drenched in sweat from head to toe. He looked up to the sun and it seemed to be early in the evening time. “Time to get cleaned up.”
He packed up and headed out the backside of the village. He walked through a small forested area and came upon a lake that flowed out into a river. Here was where the amazons would clean up.
Alviss started to wipe away some sweat and then started to take off his clothes. He almost took off his pants when he saw something shuffling in the forest. “Ayus, I know you’re there.”
No response, just a bit more shuffling before Ayus walked out. She held her head low. “Sorry, Husband.” Over the past couple of days some of the girls including Ayus were eyeing him, namely when he was cleaning himself up.
“It’s all right. So what’s going on?” Ayus slowly raised her head before answering. “Hunt, soon. Look, you.”
“Got it.” With that Ayus left Alviss to himself. He finished undressing and took his time washing himself. He spent around nine minutes washing himself up before dressing up again. He set out back to the village where Ayus and the other hunters were waiting.
After reuniting with them, they split up in different groups. Alviss was paired up with Ayus and two other hunters. After making sure their equipment was checked, they set off. They ran out one of the gates and into the forest.
The hunters were very fast but Alviss managed to keep up. Alviss and Ayus were hunting for meat while the others were looking for fruits and nuts. They spent the next thirty minutes simply looking around. Fruits and small animals were in abundant but very few large animals were visible.
Ayus and Alviss were on guard while the others were picking out fruits from a large tree. “Ayus, do you hear that.” Ayus flinched a bit by Alviss sudden call. Alviss unsheathe his sword as Ayus ready her spear.
“Beast?” said Ayus who was looking around and back at Alviss. They came closer and watched their sides. Soon multiple fast foot steps could be heard, coming closer and closer.
“I hear about five or six in total.” said Alviss as they both ready themselves. Soon multiple animal leapt out of the forest and towards the tree. It looked to be the same wolf pack from before.
The animals were surprised by Alviss appearance and they soon formed up. “Five wolves, hmm, I expected more.” The wolves closed in while Ayus and Alviss strategized. “Husband, plan?”
Alviss once more weighted their chances as they could obviously could take them. “I’ll take the three on the right, you get the rest.” Alviss didn’t await for her to respond before charging in to confront the three wolves.. The other two were about to attack but were blocked by Ayus.
The three wolves played it safe and attacked in pairs but Alviss easily blocked them. This went on for a couple of minutes as Alviss tested his abilities. ‘Ok, my dodging skills and heightened senses are in order. Now for the real test.’
This time he gave a feint attack to draw out one of the wolves. One of the wolf charged in for a kill. “Got you! |Counter Slash.| He held his ground and maneuver the sword to deflect the attack. The wolf was knocked in the air as Alviss quickly slashed at the wolf’s torso.
A large wound appeared through his body as blood seeped out of the wound. The body felt like a lump of sack. The other wasn’t fazed and quickly attacked. However Alviss was prepared for that, and jumped out of the way.
The two wolves knocked into each other, dazing both of them. Alviss landed a couple of meters away and quickly attacked. “|Acceleration.| |Piercing slash.|” His body felt light and empowered. He rushed in with speed and drove the sword through both of the wolves.
They let out a cry before they finally died. Alviss looked back to see Ayus just finishing up on her end. The others finally jumped down and made their way over. “Are you all right?”
Ayus looked over and made a small scowl in response. “Husband, reckless.” Alviss let out a small awkward chuckle before answering. “Sorry. I promise I’ll be careful next time. At the very least we got some meat.”

She let out a heavy sigh and simply finished up. They spent the next ten minutes skinning the wolves. The three that Alviss killed belonged to him and were stored in the infinity bag. The other’s fur and meat were stored by the amazon.
“This seems like a good haul. Anyway I’ll be hunting some more, you guys can head back.” The other amazon simply nodded while Ayus had a worried expression. “Hunt, finish.”
“Yeah but I want some more practice and who knows maybe I’ll find some more meat. I’ll be fine, trust me.”
Ayus looked at Alviss for a minute for confirmation before finally leaving. They went their separate ways as Alviss ran through the forest. He ran through the dense forest as the sun bore down on him.
He followed the footprints of the wolves, through the forest and up some elevated areas. Soon he came to a stop as they were a bit faded. Alviss started to inspect it. “You can come out again Ayus.”
Alviss spoke into the forest with no response besides the noises of the forest. Soon Ayus walked out. “You couldn’t help it could you?” Ayus simply stared at Alviss as he got back up.
“So you caught me red handed.” Alviss awkwardly raised up both of her hands while Ayus wasn’t taking the joke. “Husband, something, trouble.”
Alviss got rid serious for a moment. “These wolves were the same when I first got here. By the looks of things, they were being chased. That could only mean one thing.”
“Beast.” Alviss nodded. “That was my guess as well.” Alviss looked at the tracks once more as Ayus tried to figure out what Alviss was after.
“Why?” Alviss didn’t answer for a solid minute before getting back up. “Well if I had to say, it would be my pride and also it’s a way for me to finally get over my fear.”
“Fear?” Clenching his hands so hard that a couple of veins could be seen. “Ever since that encounter, I was afraid. Afraid of dying once more. Now, I want to get over that fear.”
Ayus simply stared at Alviss. “You’re free to go if you want. I can handle myself, if it gets too hard then I‘ll run, I promise.” Alviss started to walk away but Ayus caught up to him.
“Ayus, husband, together.” Alviss smiled in response to Ayus’s firm answer. “All right then, let’s go.”
With that they went further into the forest. They continued to follow the track for about 10 minutes before reaching a small circular cliff area. They looked around until they noticed a small cave inside the cliff.
“Here?” Ayus looked around rather cautiously. Alviss looked around some more and looked inside the cave. “Ayus, head up into a tree.”
Ayus looked back at Alviss who was unsheathing his swords. She understood and leapt on a tree branch. Alviss slowly walked to the cave and made a ruckus. Soon foot steps could be heard.
Within seconds the same species of beast that almost killed Alviss the first time walked out of the cave. Alviss calmly looked at the creature and assessed it. ‘This one seems much larger than the one I fought.”
The beast soon circled Alviss who was trying to formulate a plan. ‘Its mobility is quite high despite its size. Not to mention it won’t die from just killing one of its heads.’
The beast charged in, taking him out of his thoughts. He quickly dodged it and retaliated. “|Triple slash.|”
He charged in and swung the sword, three gash mark appeared but it didn’t do much damage as the beast also attacked during that time. ‘|Counter slash.|” He blocked the attack while landing another one.
The beast backed off but didn't look that hurt. “Even though it took my attacks head on, I need to be more aggressive. |Acceleration.|” This time Alviss charged in. The beast widely attacked but he easily dodged it. While dodging he made quick attacks to it’s right side.
It fell to the ground as he attacked again. He charged in from behind now, attacking the other side. the beast roared in defiance and managed to stand back up. Alviss on the other hand was completely out of breath. “Damn...He’s tough. …. I’m already …. out of breath. Looks...like I can’t simply use skills after skills without feeling tired.”
The beast charged in once more but it was it’s mistake. Alviss easily deflected the attack once more with counter slash, knocking it back. “|Piercing slash.| |Helmsmasher.|”
He charged in and buried the blade deep into one of it’s faces once more. Alviss quickly jumped back and brought the sword down for a vertical attack. The sound of a skull being crushed ripped through the forest as it fell.
“I got it!” Just as Alviss was celebrating he heard Ayus scream. “Watch!” Alviss turned his attention away for a split second. Within that time the beast attacked Alviss. He brought up his sword to block it but it was knocked away.
The beast soon came bearing down on him. ‘Sh*t!’ Alviss dodged to the side, barely missing the attack. The beast soon positioned itself between Alviss and the sword. He gritted his teeth in frustration for his carelessness.
“Husband, come.” Alviss looked back to see Ayus coming down but Alviss quickly stopped her. “No, this is my fight.”
“But…” Alviss held up his hand to stop Ayus. “He looked directly in her eyes. “I told you that I would be careful and I am. Trust me, I can do this.”
Ayus replied the stare and saw that Alviss was being serious . After a moment of consideration, he retreated. “I, trust, you.” Alviss smiled as he turned his attention back to the beast.
He held up both of his fists as the beast held it’s ground. ‘If I can make it to my sword then I can beat it. The only problem is how?’ They stood apart for a couple minutes before Alviss finally came up with a plan.
“Well this plan is whether the stupidest thing I will do or the bravest. Let’s find out!” Alviss charged in as the beast kept its position. When they were close the beast it began swiping. He dodged it and let out some punches but only annoy it.
It barely did any damage and soon the beast started to release a flurry of attacks. Soon it was time. The beast stood on it’s rear leg and was in the process of slamming down both of it’s paws.
*****Flashback******
“Ohh what this skills? Let see, |Force Counter.| Hmm and ability that requires you to be unarmed.”
Alviss continued to read it, looking over the instructions. “This skills is really good but it’s highly risky. Hmm.”
************
Alviss held up both of this arms to out to intercept the incoming attacks. However he kept them close until it was time. He needed to time it perfectly or else it he would die. “Here goes nothing!”
He brought out both hands to counter the attack. For a split second he thought it failed and that he would die. But soon he felt a certain power rushing out his body. A power shockwave knocked the beast back giving him enough time to grab the sword.
He charged in to grab the sword and circled back toward the beast. “|Acceleration.| |Piercing slash.|” Alviss charged in faster than ever and plunging the sword inside the last remaining head with as much force as he could muster.
The beast shook its head but he kept strong. Soon it lost it strength and it finally fell down. Alviss pulled out the sword and fell to the ground, taking deep breaths. Ayus was making her over and checked the beast to see if it was really dead. After some confirmation, she walked over to Alviss.
“Husband, ok?” Alviss waved his hand to show that he was fine and needed to catch his breath. After lying down on the ground for a while he finally got back up.
“I’m fine I jus--.” Alviss was cut off when Ayus slapped him. The blow wasn’t that strong but nonetheless Alviss stood there confusely. “Husband, dumb. Careless, die.”
Tears were swelling up but Alviss quickly fixed it by apologizing. “I’m sorry if I worried you. I promise that I won’t do that again….Maybe.”
“Promise?”
“I promise.” Ayus wiped the tears from her eyes and quickly straighten up. She soon turned her attention back to the beast. “Beast, home?”
Alviss looked at the carcass and pondered for a bit before coming up with an idea. “Ayus, help me cut up the beast.” Ayus was a bit confused on what Alviss wanted but still comply. They cut it up into fairly large bits and pieces.
“Thatl ought to do it.” Alviss picked up each pieces and began to put them into the infinity bag. Within seconds the beast was all gone and inside the bag. Ayus stared in awe at what Alviss did.
With that they finally headed back to the village. While walking back Alviss finally made his decision. “I think it’s time.”
“Time?”
“Yes. It’s about time for me to leave.” Alviss looked over to see Ayus with a rather conflicted face but it quickly straighten up. “Soon, leave, male, I. I, ready.”
Alviss returned her stare. “That’s good to hear. We’ll leave tomorrow morning. For now let’s head back and have a huge feast.”
They quicken their pace and eventually reached the village.
