Jurgen led the way while Grey followed him. They walked through the crowdy streets of the town before reaching a massive building with a large signage that says, "WILD BEAST GUILD". They both stood in front of a two meter door as Grey wonderingly stared at the large structure.
'If I was right, this is the guild barracks.' Grey thought before taking one last glance at the signage and then following Jurgen who's already walking towards the door. "What are we doing here grams?" he queried.
Jurgen averted his gaze towards the boy through the corner of his eyes and said, "We're here to visit someone."
"Someone? We should've brought Ryner with us then" Grey replied, wondering why Ryner didn't tag along, given that they were coming to their guild barracks.
"That'll be unnecessary, that guy's busy anyway and moreover, I don't want him here." Jurgen roughly replied as he gazed away from the boy, avoiding eye contact.
"That's weird." Grey whispered to himself slightly scratching his head.
Soon enough, they stumbled upon two man on the same height as Jurgen, standing in front of the guild barracks, wearing black uniforms with a cap. Grey quickly recognized those suit from two days ago. 'They're from the royal military aren't they?' He curiously gazed at them while keeping his wandering stares unnoticed.
"What is your need to be here commoner?!" The first man loudly shouted the moment Jurgen faced him. It was strange, but Grey assumed that this is just how military guys talks and settled with that thought.
"I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but we were summoned." Jurgen politely replied before bowing his head, causing Grey to be even more shocked than he already was.
The stubborn old man bowed, it was more than just being strange, it was too unbelievable that he have to blink and rub his eyes a few times. 'Just how strong is the royal military to receive this much respect from gramps.'
Thinking about it, Grey couldn't help but compare this guys from his past life and these guys are probably on his former self's level based on the mana waves he could feel from them.
After hearing the old man's statement, the second guys asked, "Are you perhaps Jurgen Grandfield?"
"precisely." Jurgen replied with a chuckle.
"Oh, I'm sorry." The first guy apologized before opening the door. "You can enter." he said.
When Jurgen stepped inside, Grey quickly followed but was suddenly grabbed by his arms. "Where are you going child? This is not a carnival, go home." The first man who seemed to not recognize him said.
This caused Grey to unconsciously emit a massive amount of potent mana, suffocating the man who grabbed his arms. He gripped his sword with extreme force as his eyes menacingly glared the the man. "Let go of me... fool." he fiercely said, gritting his teeth.
Seeing this caused Jurgen to quickly interrupt. "Stop that Grey." He said, lightly tapping the boy's shoulder before glancing back at the two door guards. "He's my grandson and he's coming with me."
The two guards gulped down their spits and nodded. "understood." They both replied in synchrony as cold sweat dripped all over their body, soaking their uniforms.
Hearing this brought clearance to Grey's mind and walked inside together with his grandpa. He calmly looked back at the two guards and sneered at them.
Meanwhile, the two guards are trembling on their knees and unable to lift a finger. Both of their mind are thinking the same thing. 'What's up with that child, that overwhelming mana just now... It's hard to believe that he's just a mere kid.'
...
"By the way, who are we meeting with?" Grey asked his seemingly bothered grandfather, looking at him with confusion.
"You'll find out soon." Jurgen replied with a smile.
Soon after entering inside, a woman wearing a black suit quickly approached them, handing a piece of paper to Jurgen and then walking away without a word.
Grey just glanced at the old man reading the text on paper before they started walking again. He occasionally looks around, gazing at the paintings on the large corridor and at the weapons displayed inside the frames.
Soon after, another door blocked their way, causing both of them to halt. As soon as he stood in front, Grey could already feel the unknown presence from behind that door, making him even curious.
Meanwhile, Jurgen clenched his fist and gently knocked his knuckles on the door. As soon as his hand made contact, the door flipped open before he could even hit it with the second one.
Upon opening, four figures appeared in Grey's sight, causing him to stare at their faces. The first figure on the left was recognizable, it was Lylia Wagner from yesterday.
However, the man beside her was unfamiliar to him. His long hair is covering his entire forehead and he was wearing the same uniform as her but his cap is slightly different. The man was staring at the boy with piercing gaze as Grey stared back at him in the same manner.

When Grey broke the eye contact, he averted his gaze and laid his eyes on a blonde haired woman sitting in the middle of that room. She looks a bit older than her mom and was probably married. She was wearing a long silver dress as her long blonde hair elegantly brushed on her shoulder. Her eyes are gentle and scarlet colored, staring at him with interest.
This caused him to quickly stare away from the woman with an embarrassed face. And before he could even move an inch from where he was, Jurgen quickly stepped inside the room first.
"It's an honor to meet you again, her majesty." Jurgen kneeled and bowed his head.
Hearing this caused Grey to confusedly steal a glance at the woman. "Majesty?" He whispered to himself, quickly hiding the blade he was holding.
Leonor Vermillion, surely anyone from the green continent have heard that name atleast once as it is the name of the current queen of Avaron. Grey was one of those people who've heard her name probably several times and he wasn't expecting to really laid his eyes on the real one. He was left staring at the woman in awe, causing the queen to kindly smile at him.
"No, it's more an honor to meet you, Jurgen Grandfield of the Hotstone village." The queen replied, smiling casually.
This caused Grey to snap back from his thoughts and focused on the conversation.
"Well, it's an honor to receive such a compliment." Jurgen casually replied, getting back on his feet with an aching back probably because of his aging bones. "May I know the reason why your highness summoned me?" he asked.
"Take a seat." Queen Leonor pointed her hand at the two seats in front of her that Grey and Jurgen quickly occupied upon receiving her permission. "As you all know, the recent dungeon incident proposed some major threats that needs to be reported to his majesty. And as days have gone by after staying in this peaceful place, the more I fear that the peace in this village will soon vanish." she stated.
Hearing this didn't brought answer to Jurgen's question, so he patiently waited for her to finish speaking. On the other hand, Grey was peacefully listening to the elders talking as he impatiently tapped his toe.
"Tomorrow will be my trip back to the royal capital and I wanted to talk to you about something." Queen Leonor inhaled deeply before proceeding. "This person beside Supreme Arc Wizard Lylia is Johan Clarksville." She pointed her hand at the man beside Lylia with proud smile. "He's an Arc wizard and was second in command of the division one's captain."
After hearing this, Jurgen couldn't help but ask questions. "Then why is the Arc wizard of the strongest squad doing here?" He queried, gliding his gaze at the cocky-looking man.
"That's the same reason why you're here." she replied, smiling. "Since the investigation we carried out is finished, I want you to command a combined attack force that includes the Wild beast guild and Johan's strike group. I want you to finish the raid and find the dungeon boss."
After finishing that statement and before Jurgen and Grey could even react, Johan quickly stood on his feet with ears smoking with anger. "Will all respect your highness but that idea is absurd." he said. "You want that weak looking commoner old man to lead us? I bet he couldn't even lift a finger against a monster—"
"Watch your mouth Johan!" Lylia quickly interrupted, gritting her teeth with an annoyed expression.
The argument caused the queen to sharply sigh and signalled Jurgen to speak as it will take longer for them to finish the discussion if this situation keeps up.
Jurgen cleared his throat and said, "Your highness, Johan was right, I'm too old for this kind of thing."
Hearing this brought a smile on Johan face but it instantly faded when the queen said, "But you are more experienced than anyone."
"That maybe right." Jurgen uttered. "However, I'm not the right person for the job since the only thing I did during the last raid was to clear some leftovers." He averted his gaze at Grey's direction and said, "There's someone who's more qualified for the job." He bluffed with a wink.
"I'm quite aware about what happened on the previous raid." Queen Leonor smiled at Grey, causing him to avoid the incoming eye contact. "I know that this boy got all the spotlight and took down an emberman." she said.
"That's right, and not trying to brag, this child is quite intelligent for his age." Jurgen claimed, proudly pointing his hand at the child.
This caused the queen to have a sudden change of expression and curiously looked at Grey. "Then do you perhaps wanted your grandson to lead the raid?" she wondered.
During the entire discussion, Grey's attention was partially focused on Jurgen. His eyes occasionally stared at the little girl behind her majesty's chair.
She's probably at his age, with a short blonde hair and eyes that are as red as blood, Grey's heart beats uncontrollably just from staring at her. The little girl occasionally peeks and steal glances from him that he could notice obviously.
He looked at her and smiled back, causing the little girl to hid back on the queen's back embarrassingly.
'I heard that the queen has a son and two daughters.' Grey thought. 'She's probably one of them.' His eyes are now glued to the cute little girl. 'A princess huh?' He whispered in his thoughts before he completely snapped back to reality, hearing his grandpa's words.
"... that's right I wanted to make him the leader of the upcoming raid." Jurgen said out loud, intentionally letting Johan to hear him and get provoked.
Grey only heard a part of it but he was confused as hell. "me?" He asked out of surprise, pointing at himself. "why me?" he asked.
The suggestion also caused Johan to be even more annoyed more than he already was. He quickly stood up and pointed at the boy. "You wanted a kid to lead the raid? What is wrong with you people?" He exclaimed, pointing a finger at Grey.
His reaction caused Grey to have an interesting idea. He eagerly grinned and said, "If that's what her majesty wanted, then so be it." He said and patiently waited for Johan's probably ridiculous reaction.
"Well then, that's settled." Queen Leonor said, closing the discussion. She blissfully looked at Grey while smiling. Lylia also sneered at Johan, looking at him in a shameful way.
The scene caused Johan to be even more angry. He quickly stood up and approached Grey. "I object with the decision. There's no better leader than me. I should be the one who'll lead the attack force." His piercing gaze darted at Grey, looking down at him like some sort pf insect.
Johan's answer is what Grey has expected. It was a blunt and arrogant reaction, Grey couldn't help but grin in excitement. He quickly took out the sword he has been holding and said, "Then are you perhaps implying that you are better than I am?" He coldly looked at Johan's eyes, releasing a menacing golden aura of mana around him.
"Of course." Johan confidently answered, making his spirit mark to glow brightly while looking down at the child in front of him.
The increase in tension caused the princess behind the queen to hug her majesty in fear. Seeing this lead to Lylia putting up a magical barrier around her and the queen.
"Of course huh?" Grey tilted his head, coldly looking at Johan. "Then prove it. Fight me." He challenged.
