Raptor One – Chapter 48

.
I’m hit with a full on pack tactic, their coordination flawless, so much i had no time to dodge or even parry the attack.
One of the drones was spiting acid my way, making me dodge, and not letting me have a solid stance, the other two flanked me, it did not last however as i got a solid hit of acid, my eyes almost snapped open because of the pain as my growl reverberated on this damaged corridor.
They where not done with me yet, as the drone took the chance to anchor me in place, it’s claws sinking into my flesh, the warrior took the advantage, and even with my trying it managed to open my flesh, down to up, my entire front was completely open for all to see as i avoided my throat and head as my roar of pain reverberated through the corridor.
All this pain, delivered in less than a second, the drone ready to crck open my skull with it’s internal mouth.
I did not even have to try as i lowered my head, eyes open, my white pupils locked on the three enemies, the world started glitching for a second, not understanding if i was dead or alive, but soon stabilized as my wounds closed as fast as it was opened, no blood was spilled from me.
I was pissed.
Before the drone behind me could launch it’s inner mouth into my skull i managed to grab it’s big head and with a show of power slam it on the ground, the warrior managed to jump back, and i took the time to crack open this drones skull.
Green acid brain matter splash in all directions as i stomp on the face of the drone that tried to crack my skull open, i look at the other drone, our reaction speed is now the same, it tried to react but i managed to be faster, a wing feather was launched into it’s direction, a simple and direct hit, that is, before the feather explodes into a inferno of flames, the modified feather not only carved a part of it’s chest off but also doused it with nanites programed to burn like plasma, so i lose interest as i focus on the anomalous warrior as the dying screech of the drone resounds.
Darting into the direction of the warrior i make a swing, of which it dodges by taking a light jump, it’s tail fly my way, i fail to deflect but manage to dodge out of it’s way before swirling and slashing at it again, my swing go wide, and it take advantage of it to hit me, but using the energy of my movement to dodge makes it’s claw slash go wide too as i swing back, it dodges the energy blade of my scythe by a inch before it’s tail fly my way, i fail to deflect but manage to move in a way that i can get a hit in, the energy blade of my scythe give a gruesome damage to the warrior as it cry in pain, green acid blood flying on me as i take distance along with the warrior.
We keep a very unpleasant time looking at each other before i decide to recloak, the warrior also backs off and dives into a ventilation duct, disappearing.
My grunt of pain as i walk make me detect some movement close by as i try to keep my voice down, the pain is killing me as i wait the acid blood on me become inactive while i move further south.
This time i do find the console untouched, a military check point of sorts, locked off from the outside, only way inside is by the tiny ventilation duct of which even a face hugger won’t fit, the door is also reinforced, so prying it open is not feasible in the short run.
The time i had to walk here was enough for the acid to get inactive, allowing me to devour the acid and use it to help restore my damaged clothes.
Still with little pain, but not enough to distract me, i get into the door and stop.
“What was the password again...” i mutter to myself.
“Jut stop and get the access cable into it.” Sigma groan at my antics and i chuckle back at her.
The door open very easily as the lock finish scanning the end of my access cable and flash green, so i release my neck sensor access cable and let it return to it’s place as i walk inside the small checkpoint, going directly to the console.
Trying to access the computer by hand first, i do manage to easily access it as i bypass the password and get the ship layout.
From where i was to where i am right now, i did not move that far at all, that’s how big this colony ship is, i take a look at the emergency logs, under ship damage and look for elevator damage, i need to know what ones i can use...
The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
The flood of damage logs almost make me surrender the thought, but after some adjustments i manage to find which ones are damaged and which ones are working, i got lucky as there's a close elevator from where i am that’s working, it will give easy access to the upper deck, also known as the crew deck, there should be a lot of treats there, most of it being face huggers.
Detecting no movement nearby i deactivate the console, i think some more and decide to close the door before starting to make sounds.
“Hey! Any nail head alive out there? I got a gift for you guys.” i ask out
“Feather brain! Good to hear your cold voice again! Any good news?” the platoon leader ask me
I chuckle at his words “Da. For you guys there is good news, the probability for the queen being on the upper deck is bigger than 76%, how do i know? I got some very juicy ship layout for us, complete with all the information a good defender should need.” i say laughing
“You piece of friggin rabbit foot’s luck! I'm loving having you around! Hear that sissies! We got a plan rolling! Prepare yourselves!” i hear him and chuckle again.
“Izvinyaius, but I'm not into males.” i laugh out loud before continuing “Map acquisition complete, sending it over.” i say as i relax a little.
“I got the goods buddy. MOVE MOVE MOVE!” i hear him say before i disconnect.
I sigh, this is just exhausting, but I'm not even half of the way done yet.
I give a grunt as i get up again and open the door, disappearing on the corridor as i cloak again.
Let’s head for the elevator.
Walking through the corridor while cloaked gave a sense of security, but one that was very shaky as the sudden sounds, shrieks of metals, roars or hiss of xenos, sometimes the rapid thrun of facehugger legs close by as the neck sensor warning light flash almost constantly, warning me to be cautious, something that i naturally adhere to if the xenomorph dropping right in front of me from a vent is not enough, then I'm just a idiot.
Staying calm is hard now that i had a confrontation and know that my cloaking device does not have all the potential it should have.
Slowly moving away into places hard to be found is hard as the xenomorph slowly closes the distance, it’s hiss getting closer as i feel the distance get dangerously low.
At last it loses it’s curiosity, a vent very close to me show a facehugger coming down as the xenomorph jump into it, the sound of movement and shriek of metal becoming one with the ambient sound, i look at the facehugger and walk away, they aren’t much threat unless fresh out of the egg as it works as a lock on for it, in my opinion it’s senses are worse than a drone, but it’s capacity at doing it’s job can’t be negated.
I just sigh, the facehugger comes flying my way as it hear my sigh and i just crouch a little and let it fly as i continue walking to where the elevator is.
The facehugger seen confused as it crawls through the wall, trying to find me as i lose sight of it.
Stopping in front of the elevator i press the button, the noise it makes is not that high, but enough to call for attention, but luckily no one decided to sate it’s curiosity, that let me get into the elevator very relaxed as it’s door closes and brings me to the heart of all the mess.
The upper floor.
I can’t stop but find that all the xenos i got in contact came from the vent duct, of which all leads to the upper floor, the place should be a complete hive up there, and I'm going into the thick of it.
Let’s use this moment of peace to give some hints shall we.
“Nail head, still alive outa here? If not I'll reserve this hint for the next one.” i say as i relax with my back to the elevator wall, sensors beeping so i won’t be surprised by something falling from the emergency exit of this elevator.
“Feather brain, I’m alive, what do you have for me this time?” the platoon leader say amidst the sound of gunfire.
“Got news on the hive location, and I'm almost confirming it, so i got some time before this elevator sent me to this suicide mission there.” i say back, letting the sound of elevator into the audio.
“That’s good and bad news i think? What's the hint of the day?” he ask me after some pause so he can nail some xenos with gunfire.
“Simple, remember the duct vents that lead to the upper floor, seal it if possible, they have 100% chance that you get a facehugger at minimum from it, that means you have almost no threat from the hangar bay.” i say it all in one breath as the elevator is about to open.
“Got it.” he gives a curt reply as the sound of gunfire resounds again
“I’m out, too much xeno goo in here to talk freely.” i say and disconnect, he should have got the hint i gave right now.
I have to cut this wall of... what’s this substance is.
Luckily nothing starts burning as i slice it open with my scythe, the moment the drones are inside looking for intruders I'm already very far.
This place is loaded with xenomorphs, worse yet... there’s eggs all around, i can see dead crew members everywhere.
I have to stop and let a drone pass by, but I'm forced close to a egg, which starts to move for my unluckiness.
But before the egg can give a target, the drone already moved, so i take that as a hint to get the heck out of this egg’s attack range and continue my way.
Hey, omega, don’t you think you had enough problem with xenos on the middle deck? Why go up on the first chance!
I’m almost cursing myself as i have to weave through xenos and eggs, and pray that none latch to my face, because I'm locked to the ground here, there’s no side wall or roof to walk, this thing feels organic as heck and my magnetic lockers don’t work here.
I keep my breath and freeze as i watch a praetorian walk by, it’s big frame, slow pace as it scan every part of the hive don’t look only menacing, i can feel it’s sense of purpose, it know there’s a intruder here, but before it can locate me i hear a distant screech, it moves it’s head to it’s direction.
Fuck.
It’s close to the bridge elevator...
I’ll have to bypass the queen and back if i want to get this black box....
I watch the praetorian leave as i hold a curse down, my open eyes burning in anger, but nowhere to dump it.
This simulation is too hardcore!
