I woke up and realized I was the second one up today... how did Leaf get up so early. Then I smell a sweet scent and head out to Leaf dancing with the wild Pokemon in the flower field. Its actually so cute I took a video for a couple minutes before snapping a pic. The sound the pokedex makes when I exit the tent gave a notification that the rangers did accept that the Scyther was too high level to be there and could have caused forced evolutions to multiple Pokemon in that forest. The reward for doing this task was an additional 500 bucks in my bank account. The additional money is pretty helpful since I could use the money on a TM for my team.
When I exit Leaf seems to have been really happy hanging out with the grass types but she immediately came running for morning hugs, a tradition that's pretty routine with her since I'd always do it before going out of the house. Only after I exited did Tabitha come out and after I freshened up Chardon and Ralts came out the tent as well. After everyone was ready I got the attention of the Pokemon present wild or not by clapping my hands together, as everyones head swiveled to look at me.
"Alright guys, I'm thinking that we start things off easy alright." Gotta phrase it in a way that even Leaf would enjoy training. "I want Leaf to try learning Iron Tail so she'll be doing dodging and deflecting practice, Char I want you to start relying more on your physical attacks but just like yesterday I want you to try firing an attack from your mouth so if you get pinned you can attack from both the mouth and tail. Tabitha will be trying to learn a bug type move, preferably Bug Bite or Struggle Bug and maybe even Pin Missile, while Ralts will be increasing the strength of her moves using only Confusion and Disarming Voice."
I then look at the wild creatures of the field.
"If any of you think you can help with any parts of their training please help them," I then finish things off with "and if any of you wish to battle please wait at the end. Thank you for listening."
Soon afterwards my team is now training either by themselves or with the help of the local Pokemon. One thing that the rule books say is that the rangers take strong and unruly Pokemon off Route 1 excluding the Spearow population which lived there before humans came around. Therefore, it wouldn't be an exaggeration to assume that the Pokemon who were strong but docile like most grass types would be allowed to stay here if they don't cause any trouble. My eyes are locked to the Bellossom and Vileplume nearby helping Leaf with her Iron Tail training using what must be their weakest attacks because when I scanned them. Because. Well.
Name Vileplume Type Grass/Poison Ability Chlorophyll Nature Docile Hp 75 Attack 80 Sp Attack 110 Defence 85 Sp Defense 90 Speed 50 Total stats 490 Moves Petal Dance, Absorb, Razor Leaf, Moonblast, Poison Powder, Toxic, Acid, Growth, Grassy Terrain, Strength Sap, Bullet Seed, Sunny Day, Sludge Bomb, Attract, Hyper Beam
Name Bellossom Type Grass Ability Healer Nature Gentle Hp 75 Attack 80 Sp Attack 90 Defence 95 Sp Defense 100 Speed 50 Total stats 490 Moves Quiver Dance, Leech Seed, Swords Dance, Grass Knot, Petal Dance, Absorb, Razor Leaf, Moonblast, Poison Powder, Toxic, Acid, Growth, Grassy Terrain, Charm, Dazzling Gleam, Giga impact
Seeing how both are using the same grass type move I'm guessing they're using Razor Leaf but like really weakened because every now and then the leaves become super strong and really really fast to the point that Leaf can just barely dodge them with only light nicks. Also, both wild Pokemon look really apologetic whenever that happens so they probably haven't held back as much as today with their attacks. It actually got to the point where I asked Leaf to use Growl six times just to make sure that the attacks wouldn't do much damage.
Tabitha meanwhile is by herself training as much as she possibly can to use her type moves but seeing how she's having trouble I probably will have to get her a TM to get her started. Seeing her fruitless results I decided to shift her training to being able to use Spikes as obstacles and Rapid Spin in an attempt to increase her speed and turning when using the normal move.
Ralts meanwhile is being helped by the Sunflora who would combine both Reflect and Light Screen to make a semi permanent barrier. Though after I told them that Ralts only knows special attacks they then stopped using Reflect and would refresh Light Screen when it looked like an attack was going to get through. I looked at the Sunflora through the pokedex but they don't have a deep moveset and they seem to switch Pokemon every refresh to preserve their energies, so it looks like Vileplume and the Bellossom that's helping Leaf are the strongest of the bunch. I think after this Ralts will not only be able to quick spam Disarming Voice but also use Confusion faster and stronger than she could previously.
Meanwhile Chardon is training with the Ivysaur in learning how to use only physical attacks and getting near any ranged attackers. The Ivysaur is using Vine Whip to keep Char away while peppering him with Energy Ball and whenever Char gets too close the Ivysaur trips him up using Grass Knot to move a bit further away. There isn't any real progress with Chardon until about halfway through when Char would start predicting where the Vine Whip would come from. The way he did it was to point his tail at where he would use Ember to deflect but instead he'd move away from that place, though he still hasn't tackled the Grass Knot problem since no matter how high he jumped he would still fall down.
Everyone took a break to have breakfast at what was now nine o clock but after that they all wanted to continue trying for a good while longer.
Ultimately it took about 3 more hours before everyone stopped training. Like any good trainer I gave my team breaks at any time possible but they put their heart out with todays training making me notice something interesting.
Leaf is really amazing.
Not only did she manage to learn Iron Tail. She also learnt Trailblaze and Sunny Day. How? She literally spent as long as the others but is now able to perfectly use these moves. She also started using Mud Slap with Swift alongside Quick Attack with Iron Tail while simultaneously refreshing Sunny Day.
IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO USE MORE THAN THREE MOVES AT ONCE.
No Pokemon in history excluding legendary Pokemon have been able to use four or more moves at once. Not even the Pokemon on Red's, Cynthia's, and Leon's team or any champion tier trainers team. Ever.
Albeit the total time to use all the moves was 20 seconds but the fact she could even do that is insane.
I think... I think Leaf is serious right now. She's trying really hard and managed to land a couple hits on her grass sparring partners. Not only that but she is clearly tired yet the look in her eyes shows that she's only focused on training really hard. I had to get her to snap out of her trance for her to notice the shaking legs and how she started sagging further to the ground with each step she took.
She closed her eyes and, BAM, she started using Rest to recover her flagging energy.
In more realistic events, none of the rest of my team gained new moves or grand improvements to their skills. I mean, they still improved but not at Leaf's level. Char managed to get around a meter close to Ivysaur using a tactical amount of Smokescreen while Ralts started increasing her recharge rate and strength of her moves to the point where two Sunflora would use Light Screen. Tabitha might have been moving faster using Rapid Spin, I don't really know, but she definitely takes longer to get dizzy and needs less time to recover now.
I fed everyone a hearty lunch, spoon feeding Leaf seeing how tired she was, and then my team and I said our goodbye to the grass types.
----------------------------------------
I'd like to say that the three days after meeting the grass types was filled to the brim with excitement but then I'd be a liar. Aside from a couple battles against a Pidgey and some Rattata for attempted food thievery nothing really big has happened.
Love this novel? Read it on Royal Road to ensure the author gets credit.
It was very boring just walking and even when I was in a rhythm I still needed some form of attention. So I read the league manual book on the 'do's and don'ts' section. Hey, blame the people that skip the boring bits; even if those boring bits might save their lives.
In terms of my team there's been marginal improvement but without anyone to battle and only training amongst ourselves I don't know if they're still at newbie rank or beyond. No one has learnt any new moves except Leaf who managed to copy Growl from Chardon alongside Baby-Doll Eyes when I said she needed to stop playing at night to go to sleep, and the aforementioned fire lizard who learnt Tail Whip. Meanwhile, Tabitha is trying really hard to learn a bug move and Ralts likewise is focused on learning a psychic move.
None of the Pokemon I've seen have really been on my catch list since its mostly been Spearow and Pidgey with the occasional Rattata nearby, I did see a cool looking Growlithe but it ran away before I could catch it.
A little ahead there seems to be a Weedle on the ground... Weedle aren't meant to be anywhere outside Viridian Forest in Kanto so this must either have been caught by a bird to be eaten or there's a Beedrill infestation nearby.
Meh. Seems like a good time to test out Leaf since she's never had a chance to fight wild Pokemon before. That Scyther didn't count since Leaf got one-shot by that thing.
"Leaf battle position," as the ball opens and a shining white light bursts onto the ground the normal type tenses her muscles to an 'attack and dodge' position and starts things off with Swift.
The poison bug notices the pop of my poke ball and proceeded to use String Shot on Leaf right as my order ended. Fortunately she noticed the move and dodged before she fired her own move at the opponent. Poor Weedle wasn't able to dodge even if it wanted to and the little thing was blown back. However that wasn't the end as the little bug continued using String Shot and managed to snag a few bits around Leaf, the blue energy that signifies stat lowering even happened to signify a speed loss.
"Reposition using Quick Attack," as she did that I decided to finish the fight early "then use Mud Slap."
The little Weedle must have been assuming that Leaf was either stuck or too slow to dodge since it used a Poison Sting on where Leaf was a second ago, but my normal type pal decided to jump above and behind the Weedle which gave Leaf an even easier time since she just had to use her mud attack right behind her back.
Imagine my shock when Weedle used String Shot to pull itself away from the super effective attack. Though Mud Slap did come out a bit slower than usual, if it was nor-
Gotta keep focussed.
"Leaf, 'Triple 3'" a simple command to speed up her moves.
The sheen of steel envelopes on her tail before being overlapped by a white featureless energy envelopes her body, finally ending with grass energy down below on the paws of her feet that then encompasses her body alongside her Quick Attack.
This ultimately took a total of about twelve seconds to finish but Weedle took the waiting time to hit Leaf with a nasty looking Bug Bite alongside another String Shot, which slowed down the charging of the attack even more, before charging up its Poison Sting for a clash.
Knowing the outcome I decided to just catch the little bug after checking its info on the pokedex.
Name Weedle Type Bug/Poison Ability Shield Dust Nature Lonely Hp 40 Attack 35 Sp Attack 20 Defence 30 Sp Defense 20 Speed 50 Total stats 195 Moves Electroweb, String Shot, Poison Sting, Bug Bite
Seeing the electric type move in the bug's move pool just enforces I should catch the little thing. Just as I finish looking at the pokedex I take a look at the battle finishing up.
The results were set in stone. Leaf won. She also got a speed boost from her grass type attack but that doesn't matter right now.
I toss a poke ball at the Weedle and the ball starts shaking. Once. Twice. Thri- nope it got out and starts looking frantically everywhere using String Shot, hitting the poke balls of the rest of my team and keeping them stuck inside, before using Electroweb on Leaf locking her in place and then subsequently spinning around and using String Shot on my feet keeping me in place.
"Leaf use Swift!" I frantically try and open one of my other partners balls but my right hand can't reach any of their buttons of their poke balls holding my party.
The Weedle still half crazed takes the Swift and skids right in front of me before hitting the closest thing nearby with a Poison Sting before it snaps out of its craze and looks at me before all becomes painful.
Leaf looked stunned before firing a Sunny Day to burn the Electroweb and then used Swift once more to hit away the String Shot on my belt which allowed Ralts and the others to jump out of their balls as the status move had encompassed the buttons that would allow them to exit.
Tabitha then used a Rapid Spin on the Weedle before circling back to me.
Heads hurting... maybe I should sit down... yeah, I should do th-

As the chosen partner of the boy, not much could phase Chardon, knowing that he and his trainer would reach higher heights than anyone has ever known filled him with giddy.
Chardon was pleased with the addition of the Eevee called Leaf. Seeing his trainer garner the attention of the Pokemon that could fill any and every role with the numerous typings was the right call as Leaf was the friendliest thing he has ever known.
Then he saw her get serious and the pride for his trainer grew tenfold with the choice he made.
Chardon was confused when his trainer took a Pineco which didn't know any moves to physically damage opponents other than Self-Destruct.
But his confusion turned into awe when his trainer was taking into account at the usefulness the Pineco could show when it evolved. Weakness only to the flame is a considerable typing and having a teammate who could help smite the dragons they would no doubt face is incredible investment on his trainers part.
Chardon was understanding of catching the Ralts at the time and understood keeping her. She is strong and with the help of her new family the Ralts defeated her previous opponent, learning a new move within the heat of battle.
The flame in her shines brightly and hearing that she could evolve into two forms intrigued Chardon, hearing that one would shift her typing from a fairy into a fighting type capable in close combat directed his attention. If she so wishes Ralts could be the sword or bow of the team, smiting from either a long distance or right in front of opponents just like Chardon himself.
But all of it might end today.
"What can we do?" asked Ralts.
"There are a few trainers that left ahead of us, maybe they'd halp" shouted 'Leaf' frantically, flubbing help in the heat of the moment.
"I'll teleport myself and Leaf to the trainers, it would be impudent for our own trainer to stop his journey so early." haughtily spoke Ralts, one might think she did not care if it were not for the worry in her voice and the unsaid feelings that emanate from her mind.
"They will be further up the path, take haste and go." Chardon finally spoke after assessing the area that his trainer was stabbed at. Minor bleeding but nothing major, the poison was the key worry. The psychic fairy and the normal Pokemon vanished in the blink of an eye and it only took Chardon a few moments to understand that Ralts used Teleport before rounding out to the newest potential adversary. "And you better not leave until we are finished. Lest the fire burn you alive for your insolence."
The Weedle shot a glare at us but stopped when he noticed the fire of Chardon's tail and the fact it was now two versus one.
"The human should not have been so close. Had it been farther away it would not be harmed from that attack nor would I prioritize it above the opponent. It had not yet earned my approval so I decided not to join it." It said vitriol in its voice when it addressed Chardon's trainer who was sporting a new look wearing a plain blue shirt with green jeans.
Nice look if it were not for the purple and reddish blood at one area near the waist.
"YOU KNEW! YOU KNEW AND YET YOU HADN'T THOUGHT TO JUST RUN AWAY! YOU COULD HAVE DONE SOMETHING ELSE! YOU. YOU. YO-"
"ENOUGH 'Tabitha'," good, that snapped her out. Had she continued she would have accidentally activated Self-Destruct and the attack would damage their trainer even more. "do you not think the rest of us are angry. We are to blame just as much as the bug is... our trainer would want to keep the Weedle, no? You can see his hand is clutching an empty poke ball."
"What are you on about Chardon," 'Tabitha' seems to have calmed down. Good. "Arceus you aren't going to help catch him now, are you!"
Chardon heads over to their trainers' right hand and opens it up. Upon his palm is a ball half red & half white with a little button in the middle. Chardon holds the button on the ball as he picks it up. It expands into something big enough that it requires Chardon to use both hands to hold it.
"Now, how about a battle. Hmmm," Chardon scrunches his face in thinking "you may choose which one of us you will battle but do it with haste lest I lose my patience and strike first." Ending it of with a devilish smirk.
Upon taking a look between the two Pokemon the Weedle would no doubt face he decided to cut his losses and pick the fire type in front of him. Otherwise the Pineco would initiate battle and would genuinely try and kill him.
Both Chardon and Weedle moved far enough away that they won't injure the unconscious boy. Bug and lizard start combat to decide whether the boy would have his fifth Pokemon.
----------------------------------------
After thirty seconds of travel via using multiple rapid Teleport's both Leaf and Ralts found the trio of trainers ahead on Route 1. They were sitting down taking a break from traveling the road for a few minutes.
Ralts reused Teleport to get as close as possible ending up only a few feet away from them.
"Hey! Evandros is injured! He got poisoned, please help!" Leaf said as loud as she could.
In seconds a poke ball on the side of a girl with a black hair opens up and reveals a silver Eevee only slightly taller than Leaf much to the trainers shock. The Eevee quickly rummages its trainers purse and comes out with a Pecha Berry the girl had in a compartment alongside a few other berries.
"Thanks big bro," even if it isn't the time Leaf would always give thanks or apologies "we gotta go byeeee." Ending the bye with a goodbye hug.
Just as fast as they came the pair of Pokemon disappear once more. Leaving behind three very confused humans and one worried Shadow.
