"Of course I'm fine you pussy! As much as I've eaten I could take a hundred of those from that fuckin' P-shooter. Follow me, I know where her room is."
Carnie stood up, blood and pellets falling out of her side as the wound closed up. She looked more determined than ever. She must have a plan, finally. Wait, whose room?
She started limping forward, but, with each step, she limped less and less until she was in a full sprint. The distance between Carnie and us grew.
"Why is she running so fast, I can't keep up Red!"
"Touch me!"
"What, why, I can't while I'm sprinting."
"Fine, I'll slow down, now just touch me!"
I reached out my hand grasping her solid, but soft, shoulder. What, what is this? My body has locked up completely. I feel like every part of me is stuck in a vise-grip from all directions. My legs, if they're not moving then how am I still, my feet aren't touching the ground. I'm, floating!
While I was realizing my situation, the world around me began to move faster than I had ever experienced. It feels like I'm sitting on the front end of a car. I can't believe Red can run this fast.
We catch up to Carnie in a matter of seconds and Red calls to her. "What do you need?"
"Just keep up, I'll need him soon!" Carnie slows down letting Red take the lead, "Around the corner, take them out."
Squishhhhhh!
SLAMMM!
CRCKkk!
She is so fucking hot! I've never seen anyone rip off someone's leg and beat them to death with it like she does. The whole time she was ripping them apart I had an over-the-shoulder view, literally. Oh, that agent looks like he is trying to use an ability--aaaand his heads gone...
The walls were drenched in their blood and Red stood in the middle of it looking like a beautiful devil. Carnie took the lead again but not for long. Tho they hadn't been running long, the distance they covered was incredible. We all stopped in front of a door and my body was released from the vice-grip.
"Open it."
Alright then, I guess this is the room. One, two, three... twenty-eight. That's the one! An audible beep rang out and the door cracked open.
"So many screens. Is this?"
Carnie replied before I could finish, "It's the box."
This is the Bitch's box. There are so many monitors, and on each monitor, there are at least four cameras. You're looking at so much you might as well be looking at nothing so what is the point of this fucking setup?
"Too bad, she isn't here."
As much as I'd like to give that bitch some payback I think this might be better.
"If it's here it's in that cabinet. Red open it up for him." Red walked over to the cabinet and proceeded to yank out every drawer, the sound of metal bending and snapping calling out to her as she did.
Files, why would she keep files when she has a computer, and why did Carnie say "if." It fucking better be here!
"Any idea where it is?"
Carnie responds without looking at me, her focus gripped by the computer screens, "I'm not going to hold your hand, if you want it, then find it. I did my part."
Fuck you too, fine. I begin searching through the files, tossing the duds to the corner of the room.
"Hey, what are you looking for anyway?"
"Whatever I can find on John, but his location is the goal."
Red squats down and grabs a file.
Flip. Flip. Flip,flip,flip-flip-flip-flip-flip...
"Why the fuck aren't any of these labeled?" Throwing a file to the side I grab three and bend the side of them to let the files roll open, off my thumb. The groups of three-hit the wall with a louder thump than before.
If this was just in a fucking computer I could search for it instead of going through every damn file!
If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
SLAP!
Something hits me in the side of the head while I was engrossed in searching through the files. I quickly turn to catch what just struck my face out of the air as it falls and I see Red starring at me.
"I think that's it."
What, is it... I open the file scanning through its contents. "FUCK!"
"Was I wrong?"
"No, your right Red."
"So what's wrong?"
"I-I have no idea where this is..."
It's just some coordinates. Hell even if It told me the region I probably wouldn't know where it is either, but, with this, I can find him. It won't be as easy as I hoped but it's possible!
"Thank you, Red."
"Come on, let's figure out what Carnie is doing."
The whole time we were searching Carnie hadn't moved away from the computer, her focus was on a single screen. It was one of the few that didn't display multiple cameras.
"Plan?" She had to have one considering how determined she looks.
"Chaos."
Red and I looked at each other with the same expression of 'what kind of plan is that?'
"I'm going to release everyone, at the same time."
"Do you even know how?"
"No, but all I have to do is figure it out. The Warden doesn't keep any passcodes on her computer because no one else uses it, and she never leaves this room. All I have to do is find the controls and..."
Red, who had been looking at the cameras, interrupted us. "Who the hell is this guy?"
I pulled my eyes away from the focused Carnie and followed Red's eyes to the screen she was talking about. On it was a man, middle-aged, brown hair, not muscular but not thin, he looked like any average white guy... maybe a little familiar but I wasn't sure. What didn't look average was what he was doing. Gun-barrels pointed at him and flashing, abilities targeting him and altering the world around him, all in an effort to kill him. Yet he looked unharmed, in fact, he was steadily taking each and every one of them out with only a knife. It was so unbelievable that it all looked choreographed. The way every attack came close but never hit, as if they were aiming there on purpose.
"He must be the intruder. To take out so many people and I haven't even seen him use an ability yet."
"He looks like you."
"What was that, Red?"
"The way he moves and fights, it looks like you. He looks slippery. He might have an ability like yours."
"So that's what it looks like when I fight. I see why you call it slippery." As I watch I happen to glance to another screen, "Who the hell is that?"
A bald woman who looked to be absurdly tall was making her way through the halls. What had caught my eye among all the screens of people running and fighting was the fact that she seemed to be looking in every door. Maybe she was a prisoner trying to look for her friend. Someone like that, Red has to have noticed them before.
"I don't know... I've never seen her before. She looks to be naturally bald, her head isn't shaved. She is clearly looking for someone." An agent came into view on the camera, he didn't hesitate to aim his gun at her. She hadn't noticed him. "Well, she won't be looking much longer."
Flashes filled the screen. The bullets, their bouncing off of her. It's hard to tell through the camera but It really looks like it.
"I guess your not the only tough girl around here Red."
The tall woman ignored the bullets hitting her and continued to make her way down the hall, checking every cell.
The doors around her begin to open up catching her off guard, and me. I look to other screens and it's the same case, doors everywhere cracking open.
"I got it!"
While Carnie celebrated something pulled me back to the woman on the screen. Oh shit, "It's Justin." This caught Red's attention and she too looked back to the screen.
Carnie chastised us, "Come on guys, nows the best chance to make our break for it!"
Justin walked up to the agent that was unloading his clip into her, placing his hand on his shoulder. The agent stopped firing and after a short conversation, left Justin and the girl to head towards the intruder.
After he was a good distance away Justin let loose, bolts of electricity sprouting off on him and scorching the walls. He seemed to be going all out from the start and this finally was enough to grab the attention of the tall woman.
While Justin sprinted towards her she didn't move an inch. The result was bolts engulfing her as Justin got close and he slammed his fist into her face.
She didn't move.
Her body must be locking up due to the electricity, memories of the unpleasant feeling ran through my body. Justin pulled his hand back, hunching over it as he put distance between them.
Only then did she finally move, but surprisingly it wasn't her falling to the floor. She once again went back to checking every cell, ignoring Justin.
"No fucking way. That didn't affect her!" Red, leaned towards the monitor in disbelief.
"What the hell are y'all looking at, this isn't the time for this." Carnie pushed me to the side and watched the monitor
"It's fine Carnie, we need some of them to leave their cells before the 'chaos' starts. Check out this woman, she just--"
A second later Carnie shoved Red to the side so hard she slammed into the wall. "Carnie what the fuck!" Red yelled as she got up off the ground.
Carnie stared at the monitor with her hand over her mouth. "MmmM."
Her voice was muffled by her hand but I think I understood what she said.
No, that doesn't make any sense. Why would she say that?
She spun around so fast my perception instantly maxed out in reaction to it. Her first step cracked the tile floor of the room, launching her with incredible speed. I had never seen her move so fast.
"..."
While I was confused having seen everything that just happened, Red was quick to respond having only seen maybe half of it. "What the fuck did she say, do we go with her or stay here?"
"It doesn't make any sense, I don't know."
"What does that mean, tell me what she said."
"She said, Mom."
