First Version of Panartis 5 [Final]

There were many instances where the employees seemed to ask him to stay so that he could talk with the owner, but Alaric wasn’t interested in any of this sort. He was planning some important things and wasn’t interested in making some connections just yet, he wasn’t even sure if what he would be doing would be successful.

They quickly entered carriage and drove towards the residence. Once there, Al told Illic to take all rolls to the main hall on the first floor. He himself also went there and expended some mana to make a full clean in the room and send out any left furniture away. As the rolls came in one after another, Alaric used some force to extend them fully and spread them along the ground.

One layer, two layers, three layers… many more layers of silk were put on the ground, till the ground looked like the ground was a full meter higher than prior, in total there were fifty layers of silk put on each other and spread throughout the whole hall, even having excess.

“Say Illic, how much did we pay for all this?”

“Your lordship paid one gold per ten layers, for a total of five gold.”

“Hmm, I thought it’d be more expensive.” With this, Al used a lot of his energy to move several layers in different positions along the floor. The first layer, white in colour, pulled itself together and formed several tables and chairs – the end of the layer was still free, and it looked like it was a large sheet of silk put on tables and chairs.

Then he willed the second layer, egg white this time, to flow away from below towards the ceiling, where it then became the ceiling itself. The layer below that also flow up, this time becoming decorations up there.

Layers after layers flew up or transformed on the ground, till the whole hall looked like a proper hall of higher status. Then, smaller layers from below came up and they formed figures that looked like Halloween-Ghost costumes.

The figures started moving, the lower end of their silk staying on the ground and never leaving it. The figures slowly began to sit on the chairs or move around in the centre of the hall, dancing with partners in rhythmic movements like there was music.

Then two figures, the only one that weren’t a shade of beige, but light blue and light pink. They came to the centre of the hall and began dancing, slowly their layer of silk flowed down, revealing a striking glittering blue and pink instead as they danced a waltz.

The background changed with each step they took, soon the hall was gone, and they were dancing across the world, mana-engrossed silk layers began to light up to make the hall brighter as the two danced. They soon arrived at a stairway, a large one, and they danced to the top.

At the top, the pink figure twirled and expected the blue figure to hold them once again at the end, but instead of doing that, he stood still. Confused, the pink twirled a few more times, slowly approaching the edge of the floating platform. The blue figure jumped towards them and with a hug, he took them both towards the ground.

The fly was so long that they once again ended in the hall, both figures kneeling on the ground in a perfect finale pose as the mana in them flew away and they fell to the ground like the silk they were. The other silk figures clapped for a few seconds before they continued their event.

The scene was soon over, and the silk layers fell down one after another, till they were in their respective order on the ground. Commanding them to fly towards their rolls and roll up again, Alaric turned around and saw a shine in Illics eyes.

Smiling, he asked “What do you think of it?”

Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.

Illic took a second to regain himself before he said “Master, this is undoubtedly a play of high quality and would be more than a surprising show in a theatre. May I ask how this play is called and what it is about?”

“This play is called ‘The Dance’, it is about how a fleeting moment in your life is the peak of someone else’s life. Well, that’s the short answer. If you look deeper… there is much more to it than one might think, but it’s all about interpretation.”

Being in thought for a second, Alaric turned towards the rolls and asked Illic “Say, of the five theatres we visited, which one would be the most appropriate for this and other similar plays?”

Illic didn’t need to think long before he replied “If your lordship wished to make this play famous the fastest way, then the Grand Gergory theatre would be best, but permission for there might take longer, and the play might also be too short for the theatre. In comparison, the- “

“You’re right. The Grand Gregory theatre would be the best. As for if this play is too short, that doesn’t matter. ‘The Dance’ is composed of three dances, this was the waltz, the second is the tango, which is a faster and more expressive dance, while the last is a bolero which is a much calmer version of the tango but is still expressive.

Additionally, the dance just now was only five minutes because I made it faster, but in truth, every dance is 20-30minutes long. If we make a ten-minute break between each dance, we can make it a 2hour play. That should be enough for such a thing.”

“You are right my lord, should I go and address the Grand Gregory theatre?”

“No, we won’t get to make our play there if we don’t go trough several documents and visits, and in that time, someone might as well steal my idea of a silk-theatre. Go use the communication my father has given you and ask for an audience.”

Illic was surprised that his master knew, but he just bowed and left for his task. He came back a minute later and answered, “His lordship the earl allows a short audience in an hour.”

It was Alaric’s turn to be surprised, he expected that the audience would be earliest tomorrow, but it seemed that the earl had some spare time. The fact that Alaric hadn’t talked with him for the past 4 years probably also helped.

Alaric hurriedly commanded “Warm up a bath and bring out the large mirror, fast.”

Then he left and went to his bedroom, searching for the most prestigious suit he had. He went to the bathroom, something he hadn’t done even when he went out, and dropped his clothes as Illic was still filling it. He glanced at his master but didn’t say anything.

Alaric rushed the bath and then looked at the full body mirror, he really couldn’t complain about looks. He had the purple eyes of his mother and the below shoulder long silver-blonde hair of his father. His face was a lighter shade of beige, proof of his shut-in life.

His body, although not nearly as muscled as Illic, still looked like a young Greek god. 16 years of hard training, even bodily training, made his body strong. With a third circle around his heart, his body wouldn’t deteriorate in just a matter of 4 years. ‘What a body, with this I am sure that no bot would refuse my approach… it does seem wasted on me, well… Illic would surely not complain.”

The Illic that he thought of took several glances at the stark-naked body of Alaric as he dressed him up. Previously he did it himself out of habit, but it felt good to let someone else do it for you.

‘I am adapting much faster than all those novels always talked about… is it because I watched the life of Al before I came, or that the memory just integrated better? I feel more like Al than my previous self… like I was always Al and just gained the memory of a past life, which had then transformed my thinking.’

Taking hold of Illics hand, Alaric looked deeply into his eyes and smiled slightly “We shall continue this… another time, yes?”

With this, Alaric took his coat and put it on as he left. He wore a light blue suit with golden and brown accents. He soon entered the carriage outside with Illic and thought a bit as he said “I have already an idea for the banner of House Violet, I will give it to you later today. Take it to the administration tomorrow and register it, then go to the silk market and let them make it. At last, you will need to go to a smithy to make finish it.

Make about ten pieces, four for the theatre when my play is going to happen, two for the entrance and the main hall of the residence… send one to my father later so he can register it into the family tree as a side-lineage of House Hialis. Every child after my name will carry the name ‘de Violet’, so make sure that it’s independent, write that in the letter.”

Illic was surprised that his master had thought so far into the future, and also about the fact that he still wants to keep a relationship with the main house while staying independent; it would be much easier for the future of the house to make alliances with House Hialis if they have a similar origin and are connected in the family tree.
