As for why she would be able to take over the kingdom already at the fifth stage… she was about to ask when Alaric stopped her “I have already aided you a lot, anymore and it would be challenging fate. If your father has not given you anything that hides yourself from the revenge of fate and destiny, then don’t ask and just prepare for when the time comes.”
Alaric finished his explanation and packed things up. There was only one ritual remaining, but he didn’t need any material things. So, soon, it was once again evening. Alaric ate dinner with Illic and enjoyed the view of his man eating, they enjoyed the time spent together.
These days, Alaric had asked several times and confirmed that Illic truly didn’t have any intention to leave him. After all, this happened very fast, last night… he was very proactive, in his past life ‘power bottom’ was something he had learned to giggle at. A manly top controlled by him, he wasn’t into that scene if he was honest, he just thought it was funny.
Additionally, it was always better to be equal in a relationship. Although currently, he was actually kind of dominating, but he was sure that with time, his husband would stand with him on equal footing. The handicap of never forming a circle, a dantian or similar things is a big throw back. But, for perfect ritual magic, one where he can truly do anything he wants, he can’t specialise in one kind of advancement.
Nothing could be done in the direction of specialisation. The only way of advancement was balance between everything. For example, if he was one day a fifth circle fire mage, but everything else was below third circle, then even with the strong push of the fifth circle, he wouldn’t be able to overcome the hurdle.
Your goals and ambitions are heavily reflected in your Origin, so once you decide upon a path, you won’t be able to change it easily. Alaric’s path consisted of knowledge and the practice of various rituals. So, doing rituals would be, what the cultivators call it, forming a ‘dao heart’, basically the metaphysical projection of ones’ profession, in easier terms.
For him, being as knowledgeable as he is, his dao heart has actually been formed and produced a seed in the centre of his Origin. Now, he only needs to practice and produce results from all his knowledge, no matter what, a profession consists of both theory and practice. Just thinking of earth, any theory that doesn’t have at least an inkling of proof is instantly thrown away. As for full proof? HAH! How could a young humanity on their small planet already prove their theories? Especially those that talk about the universe, when they have barely seen a corner of it!
There is simply not even enough empirical evidence for their theories, even if one of them was true, what if that was only true for a certain sector of the universe?
So, to advance, Alaric needed to form his dao heart, which he had already begun. He is also improving his way with rituals and gaining a lot of experience. But this isn’t as easy as one makes it to be. No matter how many resources he had at hand, just the digesting time for them would take several decades for him to reach the level of godhood, and then his godhood would be utterly useless, and he might as well abolish it and start anew.
His path might be one of the hardest ones, so when he reaches godhood with it while not using means to avoid too many steps, then he would have a strong foundation and might be able to skip the early stages of godhood.
Really, the only reason he is even able to walk it is because of his extensive knowledge of the game and because he transmigrated. The only regrettable thing is that he never managed to pull off an Origin-Rank ritual. He wasn’t missing the knowledge…
But everything he read was so vague and hard to understand, even though he knows perfectly well what it is about, putting it into reality, even in his past life when he studied it for weeks upon weeks, was too hard. This run was actually supposed to be the one where he would do it.

As mentioned before, he only ever reached the fifth circle in the game, because that was the minimum requirement for proper Greater Rituals. The ones he was able to perform now… could barely be called above Greater, and that was also only because of the rank of the resources and the depth of the knowledge one needed to perform them.
But in truth, they weren’t really noteworthy or useful, and to do a proper one, he would have to at least have the mana of a fifth stage. To reach that? With his path, the only way to reach that was by heightening all essence-affinities he had, really, all of them.
That wasn’t something possible, even the top races wouldn’t be able to pull something like that off. For this, he had studied and experimented in many play-throughs, and there was a small chance of doing that by performing a certain ritual… Ahh! I’ll have to wait till I arrive at the central continent, can’t do it in a short time! Now, it’s time for something else…
Alaric looked seductive at Illic who had finished his dinner for some time, Keen had also taken everything away. I know you shouldn’t swim right after eating, but I guess it’s fine if I only get a little wet, right? Hehehe.
...
The night way enjoyed by both Alaric and Illic, morning came with fresh breakfast, and they are together. Kendrick and Keen were also called in, they had woken up earlier and eaten some already, but they stood by because they were called.
Alaric finished his food and then looked lovingly at Illic as he said “The purify spell can’t clean everything, especially not such a short version. I think you should go back, tell your father that you will be leaving for our honeymoon tomorrow, but come back after lunch, we’ll have to do something this evening.”
Illic nodded, put on his coat and left. Alaric looked at Kendrick and Keen. He breathed slowly and they became nervous somehow, not understanding fully what is happening. Alaric words came like a storm that twirled their whole mind.
“I, Alaric van Violet, first head of House Violet, hereby nullify the Blood-Oth of old. The house of K, named after their eternal devotion and loyalty, shall be free of any pact!”
Both fell to the ground, not understanding what was happening as something in their body felt weird. Then, after moments, it was like a heavy weight on their soul was removed! Kendrick was shocked the most! A fourth circle formed around his heart; this was too extreme!
He had tried advancing once already but failed, thinking he wasn’t talented he never tried again… but the remnants of the fourth circle he nearly formed stayed close to his heart, always ready to form fully, but the restriction on him was too strong. What a joke, a mage proficient in restrictions was actually restricted himself! But this wasn’t too bad, to truly know restrictions, one had to experience it themselves.
Meanwhile, Keen, although it was less for him, he also felt that he could form the second circle as long as he went into seclusion! His body loosened somewhat, and he was also enlightened on the path of restrictions. Both had the same type of path, but it differed greatly! One had restrictions on the mind, spirit and soul, while the other had restrictions on the body.
One could only imagine, with their newfound enlightenment, they could reach great length in the future, especially if they stayed together, which wasn’t a problem, as they were father and son! But, instead of looking all happy, after just a second, Kendrick looked panicked and knelled on the ground, Keen just a second later also reacted, his eyes became wet as he spoke before his father “Master… Master, are you sending us away?!”
Ayy, these are really loyal to their master. If only he knew so better before, he would never have experienced tragedy. “No, why would I send you away? You are by people, working for the Violent for generations, you are naturally part of it. I have not mentioned it to Onaia before, since it is not needed, but besides those part of the family, there are naturally our Guardians.
I will be honest, you guys probably have some doubts, but I plan to reform the family, by a lot. There never existed any other lineages besides the main one, even in our peak, we never had side branches since we were hunted anyways, and it wasn’t worth it to leave more tracks. Now, I will be taking a different approach.
Our old enemies died with my father; he had placed a curse on his life. He didn’t die of a ritual that went wrong, and he wasn’t untalented either. No, actually, even in our peak, he would be called a genius. But, instead of getting stronger himself, he used the full extent of his Origin and did a Greater Karmic Curse. Anyone with bad relations or intentions towards our family died with him, he expended a lot of our families Karma in the process.
I am forming these different lineages because each and every of them will procure a great amount of Karma, helping us grow again. But, obviously, as the head, I can’t just have the right to veto and the right to appoint a second head.”
