Chapter 24

“Kiss the boy,” Master Sasha’s voice rang in Clare’s ears.

“What?” Clare shouted while blushing. She was unprepared and accidentally shouted.

“Stop yelling, I’m only telling you to kiss him, but there is always another option,” Master Sasha said. She appeared next to Master Dugu and grinned evilly.

Clare’s mind went entered a frenzy as it tried to figure out the other option. Soon, she began to blush deep red. “It too early for that,” she finally whispered. Should I really kiss him? But will he like it or not?

“Hurry up and choose,” Master Sasha said impatiently. “Time is running out.”

Walking over to Lefu, Clare felt like a prince about to kiss his sleeping princess. “Please don’t hate me for this,” she whispered as she gave away her first kiss. Feeling Lefu’s lips, his intense Aether entered her body, while hers entered his. So comfortable, Clare instantly thought.

“She only needed to hold his hands,” Master Dugu whispered to Sasha. But made no movement to say anything.

Sasha barely held back her laugh. “They could, but this is more interesting. It’s going to be interesting to see their reaction after this.”

“I guess you’re right,” Master Dugu laughed as well. “It so nice to be young.”

“Is it? I heard from mother that you were afraid of relationships.” Master Sasha replied. “Since they were the only battle you couldn’t win,” .

Striking his sore spot, Master Dugu lightly coughed. Brining their attention back to Lefu and Clare, they noticed the energy slowly calming. After few minutes the Aether became gentle and Lefu woke up.

“Clare,You can stop now, ” Sasha gently coughed.

Clare back away from Lefu and blushed deep crimson. Feeling her lips, Clare looked away in embarrassment. I just kissed him with master watching.

Lefu realized what she did,“Clare, you stole my first kiss,” Lefu acted like a maiden. “How can I ever get married.”

Resisting the urge to strangle him, Clare answered in confidence. “Don’t worry I will take you after graduation.”

“That my disciple,” Sasha shouted. “Strikes when the iron hot.”

“Don’t worry Lefu,” Master Dugu spoke with confidence. “I got my wife the same way.”

“Well the Aether is under control for the time being,” Master Sasha said. “So off you go, and congratulation to the both of you.”

When Clare woke up, she realized that she was on the ground. To her side, she saw Lefu who transformed back to normal. How should I face him? Or is he going to reject me again, Clare wondered as he never responded.

“Oh, you're awake,” Matt voice rang in her ears. “Clare, do you mind telling me how you arrived? Also Violet is on her way to pick us up.”

How should I answer him, a magical system warped me over? Clare panic on her reply. “I felt Lefu was in trouble and flew over.”

“In your pajamas?” Matt instantly replied.

Looking at her outfit she realized it true.“I was in rush?” Clare replied in questionable tone.

Nice recovery, Lefu’s snickered mentally.

How am I supposed to answer him? Clare asked. Or do you have a better idea?

Why not say you were in the area? Lefu responded.

I totally go into the mountains in my pajamas this early in the morning, Clare shouted.

“Clare, if your going to lie, say something like you were in the area,” Matt replied.

Both father and son are idiots, Clare rolled her eyes. Violet please hurry, these two are going to drive me insane.

As though hearing her summons, a BMW arrived. Stepping out of the driver’s seat, Bill opened the door for Camilla and Violet. The two women both glared at them. “Matt, what did you do?” Violet asked in angry tone. Clare, finally turned all the way around and saw the destruction.

“It was Lefu,” Matt instantly threw Lefu under the bus. “I may or may not have made his Aether run berserk by accident.”

“Then why does he look fine to me?” Violet pressed..

Stolen novel; please report.

“Because Clare proposed to me,” Lefu said, dumbfounding everyone. “She also took my first time.”

“Clare?” Camilla simply asked. “Did you at least use-”

“He means his first kiss,” Clare shouted interrupting Camilla. “I also gave mine so stop complaining like a victim.”

Both Violet and Camilla click their tongues. “Well, it would have been awkward with the blockhead.” Violet glared at Matt. “Besides, no matter how much I want a grandchild, I want to attend the wedding first.”

“Maybe we should set it after graduation?” Camilla said. “It will give both of them time to get to really know each other. It will also give them to fend off the Nirvana Organization for some time.”

“That’s true, but we should start planning right away,” Violet said.

“Yeah, it’ll be too stressful later,” Camilla replied..

Both Violet and Camilla soon forgot about everything else. As their ideas treaded dangerous territory, Lefu interrupted them.

“Can we go now?” Lefu asked.

“Yes, let’s go,” Clare instantly agreed, blushing in embarrassment.

“What are you waiting for? Get in the car,” both of them warped into the vehicle. “We got planning to do.”

“But I haven’t even agreed to get married,” Lefu grumbled. A bloody hand landed on his shoulder. Matt looked at Lefu and began to whisper.

“Don’t worry,” Matt softly said. “At least you don’t have to move into their house yet. It’s the family tradition that the males must live with the wife’s parents a month before the marriage.”

“Right let’s move Lefu in starting friday,” Camilla suddenly said.

“Son, I wish you luck,” Matt said in a gloomy tone.

Why does mother seems so happy? Clare wondered. He hasn’t even replied yet, I heard that the longer the wait the bigger chance of rejection is.

I will give you the answer in one week. As it right now we are basically being pressured into it, Lefu’s voice rang into the mind link.

Hearing his reason, Clare felt happy yet sad as she didn’t mind. I have really fallen to deep. I wonder how father going to react?

Inside the Zurie’s mansion, Clare was facing her father. His current expression was bubbling with anger as Camilla kept talking about a wedding. Finally when Camilla mention it was planned after graduation, he snapped.

“Why is it so soon?” Kevin asked as tears rained down. “She use to be so cold to the boy, why the big turn around?”

“Oh, also Lefu’s moving in Friday. It has to do with his family tradition or something.” Camilla said.

“Has he agreed to this?” Kevin asked, clearly doubting Lefu even had a say in this. “That boy’s mind must be in chaos,” he mumbled.

“Clare, did Lefu agree?” Camilla suddenly asked.

Sorry Lefu for my selfiness, Clare thought. “Yes, he agreed to this.”

“As long as he agrees, he can stay in the guest room.” Kevin said. “We have more than enough space. Besides I’m interested in getting to know Son-in-law better.”

“Great, then it settled,” Camilla clapped her hands. “Now all we have to do is remodel his room. We can’t have him accidently breaking everything. While we are at it, let’s reinforce Clare’s room. Maybe we should also reinforce the bed frame?”

Clare simply watched as her mother negotiated Lefu’s move-in. Father why do you look so sad, it not like I’m going anywhere?

Smiling sweetly at Kevin, Clare watched as tears continued to feed the smell ocean of tears beneath his feet. Her heightened senses would barely make out an silent mumble.

“I must support them, I can’t kill Lefu. I must support them, I can’t kill Lefu,” Kevin chanted to himself like a mantra.

Clare grabbed Camilla to voice her concerns about Kevin. “Is something wrong with him?”

“Don’t worry, he is just happy that his daughter grew up so fast,” she simply replied.

“Ok, but it sound like he wants to kill Lefu?” Clare replied.

After some thinking, Camilla replied simply. “He just being overdramatic.”

“If you say so,” Clare said hesitantly. Kevin’s chant was getting progressively violent towards her future husband.

After returning to his room, Lefu quickly cleaned himself up. After diving into bed. How should I respond to Clare? he thought. I like her as a person, but what about as a lover? I will use the week to sort out my feelings. Besides, it feels like everyone pushing us together. But why?

“It perfectly normal to hesitate on this matter, expectly when I barely know anything about her.” Lefu mumbled to himself. “I first met her after the accident, she was cold towards me then. When she invited me as an actor, and she had a cold personality, When we had lunch, she she was happy but was still cold. So when did she start caring about me? Was it after I died?”

Unable to discover the answer, Lefu’s mind spun in circles. Are there some other factors in play here?

“Lefu, come watch vampire life with me,” Violet shouted through the apartment.

Jumping off his bed, Lefu entered the living room and saw his father cleaning up the slimes. Sitting down on the couch, Lefu commented on the program. “Season 6? Didn’t you start over when father and I left?”

“Of course I did,” Violet replied in great pride. “I watched it nonstop and forsook sleep. I would have continued but I fell asleep during the third season.”

“Great,” Lefu praised Violet. “So, how long do I have to watch this?”

“Huh? We are going to watch it all until tomorrow morning,”Violet said. “It’s a good thing vampires don’t need sleep.”

We don’t need sleep, but it’s insane to watch a show for that long. Lefu thought. He looked behind him and saw a surprise letter, which he opened and immediately read.

Dear Son,

I will return later so don’t worry and enjoy watching Vampire Life with your mother.

Yours Truly,

Your Loving Father, who definitely has something very important to do and isn’t just skipping out on watching Vampire Life.

“He ran away, but isn’t this his favorite show also?” Lefu silently muttered.

“Huh, where did Matt go?” Violet noticed that Matt disappeared. “That weird, he sounded so excited to join us. He must have went to buy us snacks.”

Mother, he ran away because he didn’t want to watch. So I doubt he is bringing snacks back, Lefu thought while crying inside.
