"Papa," Nox pawed at his father, garnering the other's attention just as he yawned, "Sleepy." Whereupon he did rub his eyes slowly before snuggling against the Ageless's abdomen with a soft purr.
"Of course, Nox," he replied with a slight grin. Standing up, he carried his son out of the ballroom where a few Elven servants busied themselves with whatever chores were set apart for themselves to complete. Of whom bowed when they spotted his person, but he paid little heed to their persons.
Such a motion, by the by, was seen mostly as a blessing by their eyes. For he had a habit of exerting his will upon their persons, and they could perform little against it. Therefore, those who were left alone sighed with great relief whilst hurrying in the opposite direction.
In any case, the God King travelled the silent halls of his Midnight Castle, enjoying the minute sights and sounds from within and without as he carried the young hybrid. Of whom continued to yawn as he hugged his father's paw as it was used to scratch his neck and chest in an absentminded manner. Though, upon reaching the door of his son's room, their bodies became endarkened mist, and passed through the portal inwards. Whereupon he did complete a quick scan of the room, as he felt someone or something within.
Nox, on the other hand, giggled as the pair reappeared, and pleaded with his father for them to become whatever it was they went through. However, his giggles were subdued the moment he spied the intensity of his Father's gaze, and huddled close against the crook of the other's arm. Whereupon he did his best to become as small as possible in order to hide from whatever it was that caused the Kitsune God to stiffen the moment the pair entered.
The moment the child became small, did the Ageless then send out a pulse of negative energy within the room. One which also notified the Living Armour outside that their presence was requested by their God. Of which four immediately responded by bursting through the door with their swords and spears at the ready.
Each of these, by the by, started out as heavily enchanted armours which were also given a consciousness. Of which allowed them to evolve until they were each able to form their own essences in order to become a race in and of themselves. These creatures were then allowed to form their own cities and be welcomed amongst the Patheon's more protected species.
The four before the God King, however, were of a group of one hundred which were to serve as his Honour Guard, but have been reduced to protecting the Midnight Castle and all who reside within. Such a job was, in fact, quite boring. That is, until an event like this occurred, which caused their creator to call for their assistances. Therefore, how could one not answer his call to arms, if the other option was to sleep for another age?
In any case, one of their number was immediately called forth. For it carried a tower-shield, which was used to protect those behind, or within. Yes. This one was called forward so that the Ageless could open up its breastplate, revealing the many inscriptions and spell circles which brought it to life, and deposited Nox within.
Of whom stared about himself with widened eyes which became full of a silent plea towards his father. Here, he did smile softly, petting his son's head and upper back for a moment before barking, "Protect him well, and take him to his mother's arms." This caused the four to salute just as the breastplate was shut once more. Whereas within such a creature, the hybrid child mewed for his father and cried greatly as the four marched away.
The God King, on the other hand, sighed as he turned towards the westernmost wall where his negative energy pulse found and captured something which was invisible to many an eye. Himself, on the other hand, frowned as he came upon an entrapped Watcher that wore loose, grey-scaled clothing so as to better hide within the darkness. No doubt such a being was there to watch his son, but he gave no order to perform such a task.
If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
"I did not command any to watch my son," growled the God King, whose eyes glared a fierce crimson glow. His right paw then stretched forth in order to grip the neck of the being who so dared to intrude on his son. This action caused the energy to dissipate, allowing his person to pull the creature away from the wall with relative ease. Yes. It was also hoisted into the air, struggling against the very being it was sworn to serve.
"Therefore," he continued with a slow and dangerous voice, "you are going to give everything within your mind." A cold gust of wind gently billowed around their persons, which then crackled with a spark of crimson energies as he called upon a minute trace of his strength, "All of your memories, Watcher. You shall give it all unto my person, for I desire it so."
Energy, the colour of Madness and Chaos, rushed down the Kitsune's arm and leapt into the mind of the Watcher he held. Of which did not have time to scream for help, or give out a heightened tone. Instead, its body was reduced to ash and dust in his paw, but caused even that to become non-existent. Therefore, leaving no traces behind.
After the body was destroyed utterly, did the energies return to his person, allowing himself to view something which caused him to bark, "Brutus. You are needed once more." Of which caused a vertically oval shaped and endarkened portal full of chaotic energies to erupt behind his person. Whereupon Brutus did step out in his Lich King form, ready to smite any and all at his Lord's command.
"You called for me, my Lord High God?" He bowed low, the chains connecting his metallic frame to the tome in his left clawed hand chinked together in a soft manner.
"Yes,", growled the other as the portal from which the Lich King had appeared from vanished, "It appears you were correct in your musings long ago." The Skeleton's head cocked to one side with some confusion whilst the other continued with, "Although it pains my mind and pride to speak of such a thing, I fear you were correct in your assumptions of Sarah."
Brutus, on the other hand, only bobbed his skull a few times, the lights in his sockets flickering as though simulating the closing of eyes, "Then? How shall we proceed?" he inquired after a few moments of silence.
"Place into the mind of a young Librarian to give her the latter portion of the story we are telling to Nox," he commanded, but then reiterated himself the moment his mind recalled the words already spoken, "Ah, but only after we are finished with this one. I'd hate to have to banish someone for disrupting the storyline thus far."
"Yes, my Lord High God," the Lich King bowed low, "Your will be done."
"We shall see what she does with this font of knowledge."
"And if it proves to be as I had foreseen it, my Lord High God?" The Skeleton stood tall once again just as another portal erupted behind him.
"Then I will right shall follow through with what I've always done to those who would disrupt our way of life. Although Nox needs a mother, he does not need one with such thoughts as hers."

"Muu," Nox frowned as he was held against his mother's chest, of whom was worried for himself after being alerted of a possible intruder being caught within the child's room. Of which caused her to hold him close as she climbed into a grand bed which was half the size of the room she occupied. Such a room, by the by, was twenty metres in length, fifteen in width, and twenty and five in height.
Yes. Such a place was quite large, as she had many an article of clothing of all colours within such a place. For she was the Goddess of Iridescent Colours, after all, and must be true to her name in some way, shape, or form.
The clothing she wore at that time, however, was of a thin nightgown which revealed far too much for one with common sense. Then again, where she was currently residing, common sense did not exist. Especially when the Ageless was able to shape anything he desired from the Midnight Castle. Therefore, she did not mind what she wore, unless there was company of some sort.
As to the reason why Nox was upset whilst being held by her? Well, she would not allow him to return to his father side after the all clear was given. Therefore, he pouted with a, "Muu," as she hugged him close to her colour changing body.
Once they were under the covers of such a grand bed, however, she did kiss his head a dozen times. Of which caused his person to squirm, especially when she began to nuzzle and tickle his body with her muzzle and sweet breath.
