CHAPTER 15 DAY 13
I was my room. I left and went downstairs and headed for the Air Magic door. After talking to an air mage for a few minutes he gave me the task of collecting the essence of water spirits in order to get my air mark. I checked the forums. Water spirits were minor elementals. To collect their essence you need to put the ‘watery remains’ in a vial when you defeat them. Nice and simple. The nearest area where I could find them was a cave about 30 minutes down the beach according to the forums.
I went to the auction house before the cave. I had six emerald ying yang rings (+4 magic, +1 channeling, +1% magic). There was nothing to compare them to so I would have to guess their value. A +4 strength/ +3 constitution ring was going for 2 gold. I posted each of my six rings for 3 gold. Thinking it was a fair value. As I was scanning the items for sale all of my rings sold to the same person. I added the coins to my bag and began looking for something neat to purchase. Skill books were selling for 5 gold. I looked through spells and found the one I wanted. Fireball, requires Fire Magic Tier 5 & Air Magic Tier 5, range 300 feet, magic cost 250, damage 250, AOE: 40 foot radius.
It was listed for the ridiculous cost of 10 gold. Unfortunately spells that used two spheres would not be available from the Union Mages. I paid for the spell and got it from the auction house and placed it in my bag. It would be awhile before I would be able to use it.
Gwyn and Carrie had logged in and were asking me where I was. I told them I was headed to harvest water spirit essence and they asked if they could join me. They met me in the lower city. They had nice shields and improved armor. Their weapons also looked new. I praised their new accessories because that is what women liked. We went to the cave and found it quite easy. The spirits were only second level and had 200 health.
We tore through the cave felling the spirits. I kept harvesting and focusing on my fire magic using fire bolt and flame arrow. When I had fifty vials of essence I thought I was good but the girls wanted to find the boss. We continued on. I collected another 32 essences before we found the boss. It was a level 5 Water Elemental. Much larger and deadlier than the spirits. I changed from damage to healing as each strike was doing 110 health damage to the girls. The boss had 2500 health and the fight took ten minutes but we finally won. I managed to fill seven vials with the essence of the boss before it drained away. While I was doing that the girls searched the chamber. They found a small chest filled with silver coins, a Water Magic skill book and the Water Magic Tier 1 spell water breathing. Gwyn pushed the skill book and spell on me. They were content with the coins but offhandedly said they wouldn’t be opposed to a +5 stamina ring if I had time to make them.
We went back to the city and agreed to meet on the island in one hour. Before leaving I cast the bind spell on the amulets I had made for them. This got me pecks on my cheek from both at the same time.
I got back the Union Hall and went to the Air Mage I had been questing for. I pulled out the 82 vials of spirit essence and the 5 vials of elemental essence. The mages jaw dropped. The quest required a minimum of 1 vial. I had just over did it by A LOT. I waited for my reward.
The mage gave me my Air mark and then handed me two Air Magic skill books, an Air: Lightning skill book and an Air: Force skill book. I had a ton of studying to do. Well I had to get going to the island. I thanked the air mage for his generosity and teleported to the island. Gwyn and Carrie were there already and together we walked to the village. The path was becoming well worn. The village was active and everyone was eager to tell Carrie and Gwyn of my heroics. I told the girls that I was going to spend my last two hours in game absorbing my skill books. I sat on a bench and Celina came to sit next to me. We talked and I casually mentioned I had used most of my empty vials. She restocked me and gave me a case of magic potions as well. She also asked to join me next time I went adventuring.
I started to put on my intellect rings and discovered that I had leveled and forgot to assign skill and stat points! Bonus. I must have been too distracted in the goblin battle. I put all 5 stat points into intelligence. I had a lot of studying to do and reducing that time would be beneficial. It only reduced my time to 31 minutes. Oh well, I should have done the math before investing in intelligence. I decided both skill points would be the enchant skill.
The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

I then worked on my new air magic. Celina brought me food which I ate mindlessly while I worked.

As I was finishing up Terry came into the village. He was a little upset with having to walk the four miles from the stone to the village every time. Terry went to talk with Carrie and Gwyn until I finished. I finished and walked over Terry was giving Carrie a beautiful shield.
Terry turned to me, “Daedalus, you will never believe what happened. While I was tying up some minor quests I ran into one of the women we freed. She brought me to her father, a wealthy merchant. Apparently there was a quest for her free her. Three other women also had quests tied to them. That is why I am late. Anyway I have the spoils of completing those quests. I got Carrie a shield, Gwyn a bastard sword and you…” he pulled out some black leather gloves.
Black Dragon Leather Gloves of the Magi, +10 Magic, +10% to Magic Pool
I put them on and smiled as they slide over my hands. I tried to bind them but was unable to as they appeared as I was informed it was a tier 10 magic item. Wow this was incredible.
“Terry this is a really powerful item! You should have kept it!”
“No, no. You have given me plenty and you are the leader of our guild. You deserve this. I got some nice boots.” He held out his foot to show some dark red boots.
“Guild leader?” I asked.
Gwyn interrupted, “We all discussed it and we want to form a guild, you will be our leader, yes?” It was almost a plead.
“OK, just us four? We can do that. Does anyone know how to establish a guild?” I asked.
Carrie spoke up, “I do. I was our guild treasurer in our last game. I researched this game and to found a guild it takes 5 gold and registration in a capital city. We also have five other members from our last guild that will be starting here soon. They are willing to join. They are good people. You will like them. You will meet them soon.” Carrie’s speech sped us as she spoke.
“Sounds fine to me,” I didn’t care either way. I pulled out 5 gold coins and handed them to Carrie. “Great here you go. Take care of it.”
“Guild name?” Carrie asked.
I was stumped. “Um…give me a second.” Daedalus was an inventor. Was I being vain in naming the guild after my player name? They waited patiently and finally I said, “how do you guys like these possibilities, Architects or maybe First Architects?”
Terry was first, “I like First Architects. It is a good name, doesn’t sound evil and makes us sound like we are builders. Putting ‘First’ also makes us sound like we are number one” Carrie and Gwyn agreed.
That being decided we decided to meet here in two days when the game opened up to everyone. Gwyn and Carrie would bring their old guild mates to meet me. They are teleported out. I went to find Kilininth. I asked her if she could move the translocation stone back to the village. It would take a large number of cats to stand it up and roll it back. It would take an entire day.
I then went to the master archer elf women who taught me. I told her we needed to defend this village next time and I wanted her to train twenty catwomen in the village to be archers and bowyer/fletchers. I wanted them practicing four hours a day.
I returned to Kilinith and asked her to select twenty women to learn the skills with the elf. She said she would take care of it immediately. I finished the night eating dinner with Celina. It was just dawning when I logged out.
It was 4:02am in the real world. I got some water and went to sleep. I heard Flicka coming down the stairs. She must have been sleeping in Gina’s room. She jumped up on the bed with me and I fell asleep petting her.
I woke at 10:09am and went to the fridge. Gina had left me a fruit salad and some crab cakes. I ate the crab cakes cold.
I then went to trailers, Flicka looked at me with the expression “don’t I get any?” I went the fridge and get some salami and tossed it to her. I went to the trailers and got to work on the electrical. I missed lunch but did manage to get five trailers completed with roughed in wiring.
Back at the cabin I had three Tuscan bacon turkey sandwiches with avocado in the fridge. Flicka got some turkey but I ate the rest. I showered and went to my Cocoon.
