CHAPTER 12 DAY 10
It was 6:12 when I logged back into the game. I opened my eyes and Celina, Gwyn, Carrie and Terry were talking. I sat up.
“See he has logged in!” Carrie blurted out. “We were discussing what to do if you didn’t show soon. I said we wait for at least an hour in case you were held up. Terry wanted to head to the village and wait there for you.”
“That would have been smart,” I said. “I am hear now so lets go.” We walked the hour to the village picking plants along the way. Gina said most of the animal threats had been hunted on the island. There were a few wolves but they feared humanoids now.
Everyone in the village was happy to see us. I told my companions to walk around and talk to the villagers. I asked Celina for magic potions so I could make new rings. I sat down and got back to the tedious work. I spent my first hour learning the +4 intelligence spell. I had to make 6 +3 constitution rings before my enchant skill made it to level 5.
Enchant 5 Tier 4 unlocked: +1 Channeling, can prep objects to receive tier 4 enchantment
Then I made four +4 intelligence emerald rings. I put them on and it only took 35 minutes to learn each of the other spells I had purchased. I put the +4 int rings in my bag and put on my magic rings again. Celina came up and put down a case of potions smiling. I smiled back and thanked her. I got to work making seven +4 magic emerald rings.
When I was done I left the five +3 magic rings for Terry and the two +1 magic rings for Celina and three +3 constitution rings for each of the fighters. I looked at my magic pool, 908. Not bad at all.
Everyone gathered around as I seemed done. I handed out the rings and everyone was in a great mood. I noticed I was getting low on stones. I knew I forgot to do something in Bluewater! I needed to make level three now so I could get my enchant skill to level 7. We needed to kill something.
“Ok lets kill goblins! Celina where do we find them?” There were two goblin islands that Kilinith knew of and they were added to all our maps. They were seven miles and 21 miles to the north. It was decided that me, Gwyn, Carrie, Terry and Harrash would go explore the closer island.
Harrash had his raft and he also started on teaching the cats to build boats the same as his fishing boat. We took the raft and headed for the island. Celina would make potions for the defense of the village and magic ones for me to make more items.
It was two hours to the island. The port was on the far side so we landed on the far side. The island was 4 miles across on my map so we could play it safe. We landed on a rocky beach and covered our raft on bushes and headed inland. Moving slowly, picking plants and following Harrash we made our way into the islands interior. We had traveled perhaps a mile when we met our first goblins.
Harrash put up his hand and we all squatted and waited. Two goblins were talking gibberish and coming towards us. They both had bows, probably hunting for food. I started charging my hail of stones spell and waited. It was a full two minutes before they came in range and I released the spell. I was able to hit both goblins. The 500+ damage of stones shredded the goblins. They were both dead.
“Damn we forgot to make a party. Daedalus just took all the experience!” Gwyn swore. I quickly made a group and apologized.
“Sorry about that. Each goblin was 200 exp. So my guess is these goblins are fairly dangerous. Lets be careful.”
We continued on. Two miles later we came to a small field where two catwomen and a female elf toiled in the field picking something. Two groups of three goblins each sat on wagons with bows. The workers had chains on their feet. “OK here is the plan. I will circle left. Charge my spell and take out the left. You will attack the three on the left. Wait until I attack though.” I went left and went on my stomach to sneak up. When I got at the range of my spell I started charging it. One of the goblins on the other wagon shouted something and shot and arrow into the woods. Dman the others were spotted. I released my spell. It did 420 damage but only one goblin fell dead. I saw the others rushing out of the woods toward the other wagon. I stayed on the ground and started charging a rockball. When my targets had recovered and started firing arrows at my party I released my spell and started tossing rockballs as fast as I could. Their attention turned to me. Arrows started hitting the ground around me but my cover was good and they couldn’t find me. One of my goblin targets fell and the last one jumped down and tried to run. I got crit to the back of his head and he died. I stood and rushed out of my cover toward the other wagon. The battle looked even with Harrash, Gwyn and Carrie engaging while Terry healed. I rushed the goblin on the far right from behind and got a crit to its back, felling it. This allowed Carrie to help Gwyn and I helped Harrash. Soon the goblins, now surrounded were slain.
Ding! You have gained one level. You have 5 stat points and 2 skill points to distribute.
Yes. I immediately dropped my two skill points into enchant.
Enchant 6 +1 Channeling
Enchant 7 Tier 5 unlocked: +2 Channeling, can prep objects to receive tier 5 enchantment
I put 4 points into magic and 1 point into intelligence. I went to free the slaves. They were excited. We told them were our boat was located and said if we did not return in 8 hours to leave without us. Our goal was just to scout the port and return. We had a rough road to follow from the farm to the port. I let my companions take all the loot. While everyone was recovering I made a new ying yang amulet that was +5 magic, I tried making the eyes with two emeralds but it only gave a +1% bonus to the magic pool even with two stones. Well it looked cool anyway. I gave my old +3 constitution amulet to Carrie. I got a kiss on the cheek for thank you.

Gwyn and Carrie had also leveled up. Terry had made level 3 when we fought rats yesterday.
The road branched off to another farm. This farm had two catwomen, an elf female and two human women working the fields in chains. They must use women for farming and the men for another purpose. There were two groups of four goblins watching. One group was bunched up and the other walking among the women in the field. “Same plan but this time you wait here and charge after I have attacked. Last time my spell hadn’t finished charging when they spotted you.” I got up and started moving.
My analyze skill finally worked.

Goblin Leader, Level ??, Health ??
Guess that meant goblins were monsters and not NPCs. I got in range and began charging. I wanted to make sure I killed the leader so I cast a 200 second charged blast of stones. The building they were leaning against was shredded and so were all four goblins. My party members screamed and ran from the tree line.
I took cover and started charging another hail of stones. When all the goblins turned away from me I stood and started walking toward the goblins. I walked slowly and released a 20 second charge on 3 goblins firing arrows before drawing my sword and charging.
The stone storm broke the goblins and they tried to flee but my companions were already on them and the goblins couldn’t escape. The fight was over and I looked at my companions, they were smiling. They were having a lot of fun. It was always fun being on the winning side. I went with Harrash to release the slaves while the girls looted. They gave us some good info. There were 3 more farms and typically six goblins guarding the slaves at each. The leader I had killed had come with another to check on progress. We told the slaves where our raft was and to wait for us. We were going to free the last two farms then return.
We had no trouble with the other two farms, killing all six goblins and freeing 9 more slaves, all women. It was getting dark so we rushed back to the raft with the last group of slaves. The raft was going to be heavily loaded heading back but in a good way. On the return trip I made two emerald rings +5 strength stones. I gave one of my old +3 strength to each girl. And got pecks on the cheek from each. They both said the ‘loot’ from this quest was awesome.
It was dark when we landed on the beach at the cat village. Our seventeen freed women had nine catwomen among them. They ran from raft into the village. We could see the happy reunions happening in the dim moonlight. The two elf women and six human women seemed unsure what to do. I started talking to the women. Terry said he needed to log out and went to house to get to a bed before he did so. Three of the human women were from Bluewater Bay. The other humans were from another continent. The elves were from the same town that Dyana Goldhart, Katrina’s friend, was from. The town was overrun with hundreds of goblins months ago and the translocation circle was disabled. Over 300 elves had lived in the small town. The women had not seen Dyana since the attack. The town guard were all killed and the enslaved elves were put onto three different gallons. One of the women said each of the gallons flew a different flag. That was a valuable piece of information. It meant there were possibly three goblin ports of three different clans or possibly maybe it just meant three different captains? All good info.
Each goblin ship had four row boats boats that held three dozen goblins each. So 144 goblin warriors per ship? Now I could see how one ship could overrun the beastcat village. If all three ships came here it would be the end of the village. The only thing I could think was to take the fight to the goblins and distract them. I posted on the forums the second location of the goblin port and put a note, “Pirate goblin slavers, reward for elimination”. I hoped it would attract some players to harass them. Questions started popping up immediately. I let everyone speculate and ferment curiosity.
I told Gwyn and Carrie we would raid the goblins same time tomorrow. They agreed and went to log out. I told Celina that I was bringing the three women back to Bluewater Bay and would be back tomorrow. She gave me some potions and alchemy supplies. She wanted to come with me but I told her ‘next time’.
It was late when I appeared in the stone translocation ring with the women. They began to cry for joy and ran in different directions. I went to the Union Hall and waited for daylight. I had some spells to buy. First to the earth mages and for 120 silver:
Stone Meld Tier 3 Earth: Stone, 50 magic+, mold up to 10 lbs of stone, 60 silver
Minor Rock Boulder Tier 3 Earth: Stone, 50 magic+, 50 damage, Charge 4M/10D
Then I looked up Katrina again. The forums indicated that the bind spell was available at tier 5. I got it from Katrina.
Minor bind Tier 5 Enchant: Imbue, 500 magic, bind up to a tier 5 item
Fantastic. With this I could make sure all my items could not be looted. Also the current going rate for casting of the minor bind spell was 100 silver. I could make back the 1 gold cost in a single casting.
I also told Katrina about her friend. She didn’t take it well. I calmed her by telling her I was planning on hunting the goblins down and find her. This appeased her. It was getting late and I needed to make one more stop. I went to the fire door and bought some spells for the future.
Flame Dart Tier 1 Fire: Heat, 20 magic, 30 damage
Flame Arrow Tier 2 Fire: Heat, 30 magic, 45 damage
Flame Spear Tier 3 Fire: Heat, 50 magic, 75 damage
I also purchased two Fire: Heat skill books for 3 gold each. Apparently the influx of players was driving up prices. If I was getting them at half price then they were selling for 6 gold. Ok I think that was enough. I was hoping the fire spells could be used effectively against wooden ships. I went to my room at the Union hall and logged out.
It was 5:12am. Flicka was curled up in the Cocoon with me. I got up and went to the fridge. A fruit salad and two Tuscan turkey sandwiches waited for me. Flicka got most of the turkey from one sandwich but I ate the rest and went to sleep. I set my alarm for 10:00am and slept deeply until it went off.
I woke still tired but I needed to work on the trailers. I dragged myself and got to work. I ordered a chefs salad and chicken salad sub for lunch. By 4pm I had all the roofs and plywood siding done on all the trailers except for one. It was the same one I had issues squaring up. The reason why the work went so fast is the plans were easy to follow and as long as I cut everything within a 1/16 of an inch it went together flawlessly. The trailer I was having trouble with kept having problems. I eventually found the issue. The trailer was ¾ of an inch off. I swore and called the company. After 30 minutes on the phone with the owner someone would drive up and confirm the error. If I was right they would deliver a new trailer in two weeks at no charge and I could keep the current one as well. I told him where the trailers were in the park and that I didn’t have to be present.
At five I got back to the cabin. Gina was busy making salmon on the stove with a honey glaze. I smiled and went to take a shower. When I got out of the shower Gina and Flicka were gone and my salmon and asparagus were on the table. I devoured it and went to the Cocoon. I logged in before Gina returned.
