CHAPTER 14 DAY 12
No one had returned from Bluewater Bay. I had an in game message from Gwyn. Her and Carrie had a few things to do and couldn’t log in today. Terry had also told Gwyn that he had some quests to wrap up in Bluewater. So I was on my own today.
I bound two rings using my new spell and then I spent the first three hours building the new fishing boat with Harrash.
Construction: Small Water Craft 1 Tier 1 unlocked, +1 Stamina
With my mana recharged I tried to bind my belt and cloak. It worked so they must be tier 5 or lower items. Out of magic I walked around looking for something to do. Celina was out gathering ingredients. One of the elf women was making bows. After talking to her for a bit I learned she was a master bowyer/fletcher and a master archer. She agreed to teach me both skills. After two hours of instruction I had both skills.
Ranged Weapon: Bows 1 Tier 1 unlocked, +1 Agility, tier 1 abilities unlocked
Bowyer/Fletcher 1 Tier 1 unlocked, +1 Agility, tier 1 abilities unlocked
I had enough magic to bind two more rings and did so. With two hours of game play left I decided to make some items and burn up some magic potions. I made three more +5 magic rings, replacing my last three out of date +4 rings.
I enchanted my daggers with the flame blade enchantment and I then burned out a bunch of magic potions to bind all my gear, including my clothes. When I was done I had 6 magic potions left and a many empty vials. The sun had set and still no party members had shown up. I was getting ready to log out when a major commotion started. The goblin galleon was coming!
The village was packing up to head to the interior of the island. I learned the goblin ship sails were spotted two miles down the beach. I told Harrash to go with the people and protect the children.
I ran down the beach to meet the threat. When I go there the goblins were rowing their four small craft packed with warriors ashore. I moved to the far left craft and went behind a large rock on the beach. I started charging my hail of stones. I was lucky as the craft on the far left would be the first one to land. I aimed my spell amid the center of the boat. I released it at the extreme range taking out most of the clustered goblins is spray of gore. One goblin roared from the center. Must be a leader. Unfortunately the momentum carried the boat to shore and a dozen goblins exited with the leader as I was back peddling. I was fortunate that the cramped boats didn’t allow the goblins to make ranged attacks. I made it to the treeline and instead of fleeing moved laterally down the toward the other boats. With the darkness the goblins rushed straight into the woods missing my movement. Started charging my hail of stones again. I could only move slowly while focusing the magic. Two other boats landed, the fourth was getting close to shore. I moved out of the trees to get close enough to release my spell. The dozens of other goblins down the beach were getting out bows and preparing to pepper me with arrows. When I got to knee deep water the first arrow splashed near me. At waist deep I was close enough to release me spell and shredded boat and goblins.

You are dead!
You have lost half of your experience toward your next level.
You will be resurrected at the last translocation stone you used with all your bound gear in 10 minutes.
Ok my first death and it looks like my investment in binding my gear was worth. Not sure I would have suicided if my gear had not been bound I probably would of fled instead of going after the second boat. I logged out. Flicka was close by. We went outside and Flicka scouted the area for the vicious squirrels in the porch light. I walked out back and noticed the pool had been cast and the foundation for the guest house was laid. I walked the eight foot wide cement sidewalk around the pool. It looked good. The pool had cement-formed steps at both end. Piping laid in the concrete were visible. The hot tub hole was a little rough looking. But I knew it was just there to hold the massive tub I had ordered. I took out my phone and ordered a kit for a massive outdoor stone gas grill.
I went inside drank half a cartoon of orange juice and logged back into the game. I was at the island teleportation stone. Six catmen were already here. Our backup plan if things got hairy was to get as many people to Bluewater as possible. But my three companions were not here to help.
I headed back toward the goblins passing the villagers as I made my way through the woods. When I passed Harrash in the early morning light he was with twenty children. He nodded grimly to me understanding my intentions. I was maybe halfway to the village when the last group of villagers passed, it was a guard of two cat archers and two elf archers. They said the goblins were not far behind. I had them stop and take up cover 40 yards behind me. They were to focus fire on the closest goblin. When I started attacking they were to support until I fell. If they were threatened they were to retreat, my life was not important. I would be able to resurrect and fight the goblins one more time before they reached the stone.
When I noticed my first movement I started charging my hail of stones. An entire line of goblins was coming toward me. I looked for a spot to get a few with my spell. The best I could do was get three and released it. My archers started releasing arrows. It slowed the advance and allowed me to charge another spell. As the goblins closed they got closer together. I got 5 goblins as they were almost on top of me and then started to run away from the archers, trying to draw the goblins away. I started taking some hits and started pulling out health potions as I ran.
I made it to the beach and ran to one of their boats. I pushed it into the water taking an arrow. I hopped in and ducked low as dozens of goblins emerged from the tree line. I stayed low and charged another spell. The waves were pushing me back to shore. The goblins were still firing arrows but waiting for me. I took a quick look and spotted a goblin directing the others. I centered a massive stone and dropped the goblin and another close by. The goblins were too close, I thumbed the stud and transported back the stone.
Back at the stone the warriors were setting up a line of defense and the rest of the people were moving further into the woods. The archers who had served as my back up arrived. Most of the goblins had pursued me and there were only maybe two dozen still coming. Everyone was excited as it was the first time they outnumbered the goblins. I had everyone hide told them to hold fire until I gave the order. I started firing flame arrows and hiding behind a tree. I took two arrows from the goblins before I ordered everyone to open up. The goblins stalled and broke. As they ran we killed over half of them. I got two kills myself. I told everyone to stay and I pursued them back to beach, firing flame arrows as I went. I only killed one more. When I got to the beach only one boat was left and the remaining ten goblins pushed it off and fled to their galleon. I fired arrow after arrow into the boat until it started burning. The village people were safe for now. But I suspected the goblins would be back in force at a later time. I needed more PCs to deal with the threat. I transported back to Bluewater, went to the Union Hall and logged out.
It was only 6:12am. I was tired and went to the kitchen to eat and let Flicka out. In the fridge was lasagna! I might have to hire Gina to be my personal chef. Thoughts of Gina aroused me, not in a dirty way but a longing to be closer to her. I heated the lasagna in the oven and when it was ready ate half of it. My gut was bursting but I was happy. I put a small piece on my dirty plate and put the plate on the floor for Flicka. I think she made the lasagna with a sweet sausage.
I went to bed setting my alarm for noon.
When I woke I went to the trailers and installed the lofts in all eight trailers, even the one that was off. I also had a message from the trailer company. Earlier today a rep did visit and confirmed the error. They would deliver the replacement in 10-15 days. The lofts were for the beds. Each trailer had a main loft 7’6”x7’ and a secondary loft 7’6”x4’. The ceiling was only 3’10” in the large loft and that was shortened by the 4” high density foam mattress. The large loft would have 24” wide staircase while the secondary loft would have a ladder access eventually. Today I just put the cross rafters up. It was quick and easy and I was done in four hours. I decided I was going to need to hire someone to help. I was not getting 8-10 hours of work done every day as I had planned.
I called Jim. Jim was one of the guys who had built houses for my uncle. He was pretty good and he also helped me build some of the other trailers during the weekends for extra cash. After talking with Jim for me on the weekends. I would pay him time at the same rate when he worked for my uncle and a $3000 bonus if the exteriors were completed by my self imposed deadline. He was to finish the exteriors which was the siding, windows, door, skylights, roof and storage box. This meant all I had to do was the interiors. Still a lot of work but more manageable. I hauled all the electrical into the first trailer. Roughing the wiring would wait till tomorrow. I spent till 6:00pm organizing plumbing for installation. I found I only had six 30 gallon water tanks. I double checked my order and confirmed I eight on the invoice. I sent off an email to the company.
It was 6:12 when I got to the cabin. I put the left over lasagna in the oven and showered. When I came out Gina was eating a salad on the couch with Flicka in her lap. I smiled, “How did you know lasagna was one of my favorite food groups?”
Gina replied, “Oh that is great! It was my grandmother’s recipe. We had it all large family gatherings. I cannot believe you are going finish the whole thing in one day! You have quite the appetite!”
“With your cooking Gina I will be as rolly polly as Santa before long!” I said jokingly.
“Not yet, you have a great body,” she said and turned bright red.
“So do you,” I returned but couldn’t hide my flirt as my face turned red as well.
It was awkward and I ate the rest of the lasagna from the glass casserole dish and put it on the floor for Flicka. We hadn’t said anything since we both embarrassed ourselves. I went to log in to the game.
