CHAPTER 13 DAY 11
I was in my room in the Union Hall. It was early. Still before dawn in the game. I went down to the open market by the translocation stone looking for Grant. I found him carrying a large bag of stones toward the square. “Grant!” I yelled. He turned to me and came to me.
“Daedalus, I have stones for you. Four hundred and thirty-one. Did you get the 300 stones I left for you at the Union Hall?” Great. I pulled out two silver and handed them to Grant.
“You are awesome Grant. No I didn’t get the stones at the Union Hall yet.” I forgot to check my mail, damn it. I emptied the stones into my bag that Grant had with him. “You should charge one copper per stone from now on. The new comers to this world will gladly pay it as will I.”
I thumbed the stud and disappeared to the island translocation stone.
I arrived with the sun and ran back to the village.

Nice little bonus. I arrived in town and found the place stirring. Gwyn and Carrie were practicing their swordcraft. The cat people were busy preparing defenses. I found Kilinith and she handed me a bag. “A small thank you for bringing back some of our people.”
“I hope to free more today.” I took the bag and peeked inside. A few gold coins and emeralds floated inside. I put the entire thing into my bag. “Thank you Kirinith.”
I walked over to my two female warriors and was intercepted by Celina. She handed me a bag of vials. I added them to my bag. I was now well stocked on magic potions and ready to rumble. Terry came out of a house looked ready to go. As a group we headed to the beach where Harrash was waiting by a slightly improved raft. “Bout time you returned. Guess we are going back to the island?”
“Yep, lets go I said.” In a coordinated action we all pushed the raft into the water and headed back to the goblin island. I made a +5 strength amulet to start the trip, knowing my magic would recharge during the trip. Next I put on my intellect rings and used the two fire: heat skill books.

I had enough time to learn one spell and choose flame arrow. We were closing in on the island and I switched to my magic rings. I think my companions were hoping I would make them more enchanted gear. Well they would have to wait until I learned my spells.
We hide our raft again when we beached. We set off on foot trying to follow the same path as yesterday. The first group we encountered was a group of 5 goblins. They were definitely scouts. We were fortunate in that they were not very good.

I managed to get two of the warriors in a hail of stones spell. Then our three warriors paired off with the remaining goblins while Terry supported them. I then used flame arrow to help take them down one at a time.
The large scouting party indicated the goblins had increased security. We needed to go slower and be careful. We moved toward the farms with Harrash leading us. The next goblin party had 3 scouts and we were taken by surprise. Fortunately our numbers won out with the help of Terry’s quick healing efforts. Terry was getting good.
We were getting close to the first farm. Eight goblins oversaw ten women in the field. Three goblins wandered among the women scanning the trees. Five goblins were bunched together by the wagon that was being loaded. I told everyone to wait and moved very slowly along the ground to get close enough to the larger group. A crawled through the bushes and when I was almost to the wagon I saw four more goblins in the woods 200 yards away, waiting for trouble. Damn it was too many. Maybe…I could charge a second hail of stones for 15 seconds or so and hit the second group as they came on.

The alert startled me. I used the analyze ability to make sure my hail of stones would be large enough.

From bad to worse. The captain had over a thousand health if that is what four question marks meant. I decided to charge it up to 1500 damage and pray it took down the captain. When I released the spell it shredded the goblins but the captain came rushing out looking for a target. My party came running out to attack the three in the field and the captain rushed toward them. The four hidden goblins stood and came rushing to their aid. I started casting flame arrows at the captain. On the fourth one he finally fell. I turned and the four other goblins were almost on top of me. I reached into my bag and drank a battle potion as I was certain I would need the extra health.

I looked over at the party. They had taken down one goblin and the other two goblins were hard pressed. I would die if the four I was facing surrounded me.

I was getting close to my companions and the healing power of Terry. I cast a healing spell on myself but it didn’t matter as I took more damage than the 100 health it healed when each of the goblins hit me again. I was down to under 200 health. I drank a health potion and then Gwyn was by my side. Pulling two goblins to her. Then I felt the hand of Terry heal me. Then Harrash and Carrie joined us. We overpowered them and I sagged to the earth while I was healed by Terry back to full.

Well some good news. Harrash went to fleeing the women slaves. I opened my menus. I added 5 points to magic.

My goal was to get to tier 6 enchanting before focusing on other skills. We decided since there were patrols in the woods the women would hide in a nearby shed and we would collect them when we returned. Carrie had looted the goblins and handed me something. “The boss had it on him and you should have it.”

It was black and didn’t smell too bad. It looked pretty good as well. After it was washed it would make an excellent item. I put it on and ignored the smell.
I sat down and pulled out some potions. I made a +5 magic emerald ring and three +5 constitution rings. I gave one of my +4 magic rings to Terry and put on the +5 magic ring. I then handed one +5 constitution ring to Harrash, Gwyn and Carrie.
“If the next farm is just as difficult we will retreat back to the village,” I stated before getting up and leading the party into the woods.
The next farm had the standard two groups of three goblins. Six women worked the field. We followed our normal plan and quickly dispatched them and freed the women. My analyze monster skill leveled from the encounter.

The third farm had seven goblins. Four women were planting seeds. The goblins had no ranged weapons on them. We tried a new plan. I charged my hail of stones and the Gwyn stood and drew the goblins. I was able to hit and kill five. The remaining two did not last long.
The last farm only had two goblins and two women. After we circled and made sure it was not an ambush we just walked in and killed them. We had all the twenty-two women wait with Terry, Gwyn and Carrie while Harrash and myself scouted the goblin port. We crested a hill to see a small town of goblins and slaves.
“Must be two to three hundred goblins and half that many slaves down there.” Harrash said. There galleon wasn’t here meaning perhaps another 200 goblins.
“Go back and get everyone to the raft. I am going to go have some fun. I will use the translocation stone to get back.
“Your crazy boy,” but Harrash didn’t argue and left. I moved into the town and climbed a building on the outskirts but with a good line of sight. I started using my analyze skill. Since I could now read 6th level creatures there were only a few goblins I could not identify. It was getting close to sunset and time to make a move. I charged my hail of stones and took out two level 5 shamans. The entire place went into an uproar. I laid flat on the roof and began charging my hail of stones again. I waited till one of the captains was close to five warriors and released a massive spell. They all fell dead but a goblin noticed me. Soon they were moving in mass to climb the building. I started charging hail of stones again and waited. My magic was getting low when the first goblins came onto the roof. I waited to get three together and unleashed it. Three good kills. I reached for my stud and teleported away with a grin on my face.

I was in the woods at the stone. I paused to raise magic by 5 points and add two skill points to enchant.

I ran back to the village and got there an hour after dark. The raft had not returned yet. I sat down in the fire light with Celina and chatted while I made some rings. I made two +5 magic rings before they returned. Ten of the women we rescued were catwomen, 3 were elves from Dyana’s town, and the rest humans. None of the elves had seen Dyana but were welcome in the cat village until they decided what to do. Terry, Gwyn and Carrie were taking all the humans to Bluewater and were going to upgrade equipment as well. Before logging out I learned my bind spell.
Flicka was waiting. She was so happy to see me. Liking my face an wagging her stubby tail so hard her entire hind quarters was shaking.
I two pound garlic butter roasted chicken store bought chicken was in the fridge. Me and Flicka demolished it. I drank four cups of water and then ate two granola bars with yogurt. I then went to bed without setting an alarm.
It was 11:48am when I woke. I ordered a pizza with double sausage. The pizza was for me and most of the sausage for Flicka. I went to trailers and unbundled the siding and exterior trim. I wrapped the Tyvek and began the siding. This was the longest portion of the build. I set the miter box close by and went to work. Five hours later and two pizzas I had a single unit almost done. I went home and showered. A note on the fridge informed me Gina was going to be back at 8pm and dinner was in the fridge. And today’s dinner was…steak tips and roasted vegetables. I heated it in the oven while I showered. After eating quickly I went to the Cocoon.
