How does one create the impossible? Through the power of imagination: the first of all the magics. This is how I was able to do something even I wasn't sure was possible. You see there was this ongoing problem of my personal privacy and issue with where I keep my belongings. Of course there was Doovlin village, but just going there all the time and leaving me stuff there was starting to become well known. So to remedy this I had created my own pocket dimension.
There were plenty of tales of gods and goddesses having their own realms from the world I'd come from. Where and what those realms were had always been one of those things that everyone had their own explanation for. Were they in the sky? A mysterious heaven? Another world? Well there was a certain type of trope in the fantasy stories I had read back before I was a goddess that talked about pocket dimensions. Essentially a extra dimensional space that was magical in nature only accessible by special means.
This is what I had done: I sat down and thought really hard about what this place would look like and how big it would be. Then I used mana to manifest this realm and transport myself to it. The effort had taken all of mana and knocked me out for a couple days. It was a simple small castle, probably the size of a basic bollywood mansion from Earth. The only problem was there were no open windows in the place because there was nothing outside of the castle per say. All the windows were therefore boarded up with wood.
Where exactly was this pocket dimension at? Who knows? Possibly it was all inside my imagination like the Goddess Zone, or perhaps somewhere else in the universe or beyond. There was a race of humanoids I vaguely remembered that did something similar with books, or "Age" writing as they called it. One of their scholars would write a detailed book about a planet and then the book itself would become a portal to that very place. Did the planet already exist and the book magically linked to it? Or did they create the planet out of thin air? Not even they knew.
In the interest of emergencies I had also opted to create such an "Age" for humans to access my domain, just in case someone really had to talk to me and I was in there. This book was then left inside the ruined temple in the mountains and thankfully was able to be magically immune to the elements. Inside my castle was then placed a "linking book" back to first book, as otherwise the people would be trapped inside my castle.
As for the layout of the castle itself the first important thing was the place was scaled for a goddess. So one might imagine a generic and simple castle entryway with chairs, simple colored tapestries, and wall sconces, but a human as a bug on the floor in such a room. I mean your entering my literal special home so why wouldn't I be allowed my normal goddess size? Its not like being cramped inside a human sized body all the time is comfortable. Shit gets cramped!
Of course there was a little human sized alter and mini open air temple setup on the far wall of the castle entrance. Just something for those who visit to go to and give their offerings and be out of the way of foot traffic, well my foot traffic. It was kinda cute actually, seeing a little temple like a toy on the floor just under a welcoming table. Obviously running around such an immense place on the floor was a stupid idea and most people wouldn't attempt it anyway.
The rest of the castle included such rooms as a kitchen, small library, several bedrooms, a dining hall, and storage closets. All of these places had basic furnishings for the most part and the kitchen of course had at least a sink with running water but otherwise was medieval in nature. There also was a central courtyard in the middle of the castle that opened out to the outside and was about the size of a soccer field. This garden had small stone walkways, pretty grass, plenty of plants, small trees, and a large pond with simple bridge. Of course there was no sky up above as there was nothing outside the castle and a big stone dome was all one could see looking up. There were no giant bugs or fish here either, just the plants. The sunlight was created from my domain itself but was ultimately magical in nature. So if I ever wanted it to be night it would simply be night instead, with the dome above acting as a planetarium filled with stars. This was the case for all the sconces and brazier as well, all lit by magical flames that only went out when I decided.
Inside one of the bedrooms of the castle, my private bedroom, there was a tiny house. If one lived in the twentieth century they would recognize the "modern family home." That's right it was a literal house with all the amenities, scaled down to human size. So basically it was a miniature dollhouse in the corner of my goddess sized medieval bedroom. There was even a large green grass yard surrounding it complete with front and back yards. No white picket fence though, it was yellow.
This human scale house was a three bedroom and two bath home. There was a kitchen complete with an oven, refrigerator, and dishwasher. The entire house used electricity for its lights and even had a laundry room with washer and dryer. There was no bedroom for me inside this house but instead all three bedrooms including the master were setup as guest rooms. This literal tiny home was created for visitors to spend the night and for me to have parties perhaps at a human scale.
Today actually marked my first human visitors to my Goddess Domain. It was Timothy, Jackson Juniper, Quarely, and Ferherlyn. The lord and mage were kind of a package deal. Miya of course had already seen the entire castle and house as I was making it. She was really impressed and loved the modern home and listening to the explanations of how it all worked.
I stood at my normal goddess size in the entryway of the castle near the mini temple and the pedestal where the Age was resting. It was decided to let them all use the book to get here and I went ahead by just transporting myself here.
In a flashes of light the four men arrived through the book and into my castle. They were obviously horrifically disoriented when they tried looking around the place. It wouldn't be easy to take in a castle entry when you were two inches tall or less. The scale involved was simply staggering. I would know as I tried getting around at human size myself.
Once they had gotten over their initial shock however they managed to walk out into the middle of the floor and look up at me towering above them. They stopped a great distance away from my feet which was about two feet from my perspective. Understandably they were nervous being near me when everything else was my scale.
I had my hands on my hips and smiled down at them.
"Welcome boys! This is my Goddess Domain and you're the first human visitors ever! Be proud!"
Even though they were still lost for words it was Quarely who recovered first.
"Goddess... T-This is all so..."
Jackson finished his sentence for him.
"Unimaginable."
This made me giggle a little and I took a couple steps closer and around where they were standing.
"Well obviously not or it wouldn't be here! Oh also I'd advise on future visits that you keep close to the walls to avoid footfalls. Not like I'm actually going to ever step on you but its just it case you know? Besides its kinda cute thinking about ya'll scurrying around along the floor like bugs."
Jackson sighed and shook his head.
If you come across this story on Amazon, it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.
"Its touching you find it so entertaining goddess I suppose. Though not the most lovely thing to be reminded of."
With a teasing grin I crouched down over them.
"Well yeah. Sorry buggy but it can't be helped!" I giggled. "Just kidding! Lets show you the real reason I invited you here shall we?"
Timothy gulped and looked up at me. He looked nervous and a little scared of this whole experience and I felt a little bad for him.
"W-Well goddess. Are we going to have to walk there? This place is so huge..."
With a smile from ear to ear I stood back up and walked over to the main table in the entrance with my footsteps booming for the humans on the floor. Once there I picked up a goddess sized mortar and pestle, bringing it back over and setting it down in front of everyone. Then I shrunk down to my human size and jumped up inside of it.
"Climb on inside everyone! This is a fun trick I remember someone doing where I came from. She um, well she isn't a role model so I won't go into details."
For human sized people the mortar was about the size of a rowboat with the pestle a giant size stone oar that only I could lift at this scale. The cup of the mortar would easily fit all four men but it would be snug like a real rowboat. Both the items were made of pretty white and gray marble and polished to a dull shine.
Ferherlyn had been quiet up until now, the mage already figuring out what I was planning. So as he waited for his turn to climb inside the marble dish he put his arms inside his sleeves in front of his chest.
"I assume you'll be traveling along the ground in this goddess? You could just carry us to wherever this place is. Is there a particular reason for this method or is it just for fun?"
His expression changed to one of annoyance as he realized he had just answered his own question.
Because of that I didn't answer him and instead move to stand on the side of the mortar's rim. I then reached down to him and smiled offering him a hand.
"Come on up now Mr. Mage. You don't want to keep your goddess waiting do you?"
With a sigh he reached up and took my hand, his old bones creaking slightly as he was helped up and into the stone bowl. He managed to settle down sitting alongside the other three without an issue.
While they all sat down in the bowl I stood on the rim and took up the pestle like a giant oar. Then with my will and magic the whole thing lifted off the floor. It floated in the air several feet off the ground and rocked gently back and forth like a boat floating on a river. Using the pestle I started rowing us along and the whole thing behaved just like a boat in water.
"Let's go to my home my pretties!" I said in my best witch voice while looking ahead. "I might just turn you into a stew!"
Quarely leaned across the bowl and whispered to Jackson.
"Now what's she talking about? I heard you've known her the longest."
Jackson simply shrugged as he looked up at me and then back at the lord. He whispered his reply.
"I don't know my lord. Perhaps you should ask her yourself?"
Of course no one here actually thought I was going to cook them and eat them. However that didn't stop Timothy from feeling unwell. It was basic sea sickness he was suffering from by the looks of it, though we were barely rocking at all. Thankfully there wasn't any throwing up and he'd be fine.
"Not used to boating son?" Jackson asked giving Timothy a pat on the shoulder.
Timothy shook his head and held his stomach.
Jackson smiled. "Don't worry you'll get used to it."
We traveled like this throughout the goddess sized castle for several minutes. The mortar sped through the air at the speed of a motorboat though the ride was smooth as silk due to us being in the air instead of water. There wasn't a chance of anyone falling out either as only their heads poked up over the rim of the stone bowl. Along the way they mostly just marveled at the place and talked among themselves about it. This brought a smile of pride to my face.
Eventually our trip was nearing its end as my room and the modern house came into view.
"Now I'm sure all ya'll have been inside a girl's room before" I said still looking ahead. "Well except for you Timothy."
He looked down and blushed in embarrassment.
I tried not to smile too much before continuing.
"You're about to enter a goddess's room however. I know you'll be respectful of entering such a private place." I then pointed in front of us. "See that house there? That's where we're going."
They all arranged themselves so they could better see ahead and looked in awe at the modern house.
Ferherlyn rubbed his bearded chin.
"That's not any sort of house I've seen before. Is it a kind of home from the world you lived in before goddess?"
Timothy gasped and looked up at me.
"Is it goddess?"
We floated up to the front yard of the house and I settled the mortar down on the castle floor to avoid harming the green green grass of my home. I then sat the pestle down leaning on the side of the bowl and hopped down onto the front yard.
"Ding ding ding! Ten million points for you!" I then put my hands on my hips and sighed. "This is where visitors will stay if I ever have them over." I then looked back at Timothy. "I was also thinking of trying a cooking class here. At least if your father wants."
Timothy smiled a little nervously. "I'll ask him goddess."
The four men then climbed out of the big stone bowl and joined me on the lawn. Quarely helped the old mage down in a heartwarming gesture, showing that even as a lord he wasn't above helping his aid out. Once they were all behind me they had to readjust again to just how massive the bedroom surrounding us was. Even for me it was pretty overwhelming to see my goddess bed looming in the distance in a blurry haze.
I brought their attention back to me by turning around and putting my hands on my hips in fists.
"Well enough gawking at the scenery boys. Care to walk into my parlor? Tis the prettiest parlor you ever did spy."
They all nodded and began following me along the concrete driveway of the house. There was a devious grin on my face as I tried not to giggle aloud to myself. They didn't get the reference I just made. Of course they wouldn't, they weren't knowers.
Jackson noticed my face. "Something wrong goddess?"
I shook my head to clear my head and force the expression off my face.
"Oh no nothing little Jacksey! Just thinking of something funny is all." I then whispered to myself low enough he couldn't hear. "Little fly."
We all walked around a little concentrate path and arrived at the front door of the house. As expected it was a bright yellow door with a bronze knocker on it and a cute little porch with potted plants. There was also a wind chime in the shape of cats and dogs hanging.
I turned around and held my arms out beside me.
"Just look at you four humans! A goddess invites you into her castle and then carries you away to another tiny house inside her own room. And you just go along with it not even caring if its a horrible trap. You know in the stories where I came from people that trusted goddesses like this were never seen or heard from again! Ya'll sure lucky I'm a nice one huh?"
The four of them were now looking around and at me with a sudden nervousness. Timothy was the most perturbed out of all of them and he even looked a little scared.
With a sigh I dropped my arms to my sides and cocked my head to the side.
"I'm not trying to scare you. I'm just pointing out the obvious. While it is fun to see ya'll squirm a little I'm mostly trying to get across that you shouldn't trust other goddesses like this. I care about the safety of my worshipers and don't want them hurt."
This seemed to quell their fears and they began to relax again. There were sighs of relief and their postures eased back to normal. Thankfully little Timtim recovered as well, seeming the most relieved out of all of them.
Ferherlyn bowed his head to me.
"Thank you Goddess Jenna. Its easy for us mortals to forget the past due to the present. Indeed just because you're a kind and gentle goddess doesn't mean any others would be. We thank you that you've seen fit to invite us into the privacy of your own home."
The others thanked me as well and I couldn't help blushing a little. To hide my embarrassment I turned around and opened the front door. I wasn't hiding anything from the adults but they didn't say anything about it.
"Well then lets check the place out!" I said stepping inside. "Come on I'll show you around."
My four human guests followed me into the house and into the entryway slash living room. It was pretty fun to have a chance at playing house. It brought back many happy memories of going to friend's homes back in the other life and having visitors over to where I lived. Even though circumstances were drastically different here I hoped to relive some of those feelings now.
There were curious minds with me now and this modern home was full of so many fascinating things. The next several hours would be filled with long explanations about microwaves and throw pillows. I'd tell my guests anything they wanted to know about anything in this house. It was my great pleasure to share with them the secrets of the modern age, even if it was taken as the realm of goddesses beyond human understanding.
My hope was that one day this world could also enjoy such technology and all I was doing now was planting the seeds. If nothing else it would cause my own fame to grow across the kingdom and possibly the world. These four men were truly lucky indeed, or unlucky one might say, to be locked in a house with an overeager goddess of monologuing.
