The rest of the night at Timothy's house went about as well as it could have. The food ended up being pretty plain as far as my more modern standards went but still pretty good considering what they had to work with. The conversation was mostly about their past as I shut down questioning about my own past whenever it came up. All I really told them was about my personality and that I came from a village in the mountains.
In the end I left Timothy with his father for the time being. He'd be safe enough there. Besides I didn't know him that well yet, even though I did like him. As such I wasn't ready for him to come to the new years slash Christmas party with all my first worshipers. It was also decided that the party would just be the two villagers near where I came into this world: Doovlin and Yuvoghen. However I had invited Quarely and Ferherlyn just because I liked them.
With just three days to go the first thing I did was visit both of the villages and go over a brief explanation of my plans for a party. I was also going to tell them about the presents thing ahead of time but realized I would get lambasted by hoards of gifts. I mean literally everyone would want to give me a present. Dealing with that was not something I wanted at the moment. Instead I marketed it as a new year event but planned to give them a present. A chess board! No game like it existed yet that I knew about. So making like a hundred of them was how I spent some of my time and mana.
In preparation for the party I had designated Doovlin itself as the location for the party and invited everyone from Yuvoghen there, minus the mage family of course. They weren't interested in coming anyway and I made damn sure I didn't sense any of them around the village each day. Something about them was just off, even more so recently. I could tell they really actually hated me for some reason now.
Now it was the day of the party with the event starting in the evening. I had spent the last hour setting up Christmas lights around the town, though as there was no electricity yet I had used little colorful magical flames in orbs I could put out once the party was over. No one knew what they were for yet as the flames were kept secret until the night of the event.
Right now I was carrying a absolutely huge fir tree into the middle of the village. I was once again my two-hundred foot tall size and had a tree that went about up to my knee. At fifty feet tall this tree rivaled the kinds in the big city squares back where I came from. Thankfully I didn't have to drag it through the village since I could just carry it in my hands.
"So you're going to put lights all over it right Jenna?" Miya asked excitedly.
"Yeah but I'll keep them secret for now too" I thought back to her.
The people of both villagers were currently preparing the main party area in the center of the village. They were setting up the tables and keeping various foods on the cookfires so it stayed warm until it was time to eat. It was the middle of winter so people were dressed warmly and kept around each other for the most part. There were over two hundred people here I'd wager and there would be bonfires later at night to help people stay warm.
My thundering footsteps shook the world as I walked up and into the village center. Everyone here was quite used to my earth shaking steps and weren't afraid in the slightest. They knew I wasn't going to step on anyone. I got lots of waves and greetings from those below and I smiled back down at them.
Once I had reached my destination I put the tree down and used a bit of earth magic to cheat a hole in the ground so it would stand up straight. It was like planting it all over again except this time without the roots. The tree stood tall over everyone and everything around, even the houses a fraction of the height. It would look really pretty lit up.
"Hey goddess!" came a child's voice.
It was Miya's brother Tromly. He had obviously been waiting here for me to return.
After the tree was planted I changed to human size and stepped so I'd end up standing in front of him. Since he was about the same age as I looked he was about the same height as me which definitely made him feel awkward.
"Yeah what's up?" I asked smiling.
Tromly blushed and hid his hands inside his coat, nervously looking away from me before looking back. He was avoiding eye contact still.
"You can look me in the eyes you know Tromly." I reassured him. "I'm not going to eat you or anything."
He looked me in the eyes finally and sighed some of his nervousness away.
"It's just... Well seeing you the same size as me makes me feel really weird goddess. I'm so used to barely reaching the top of your toes and stuff. Like what if I do something to insult you?"
With a smile I stepped closer and reached up to give him a pat on the head. That only embarrassed him further but it was fun.
"Don't worry about it little guy! I'd have a hard time getting insulted by a boy as nice as you!"
Elphonse walked over to us and towered over the both of us, easily twice as tall and with rippling muscles. The blacksmith had been working almost non-stop making various weapons and armor for the guards of the villages with the new shipments of iron from those mines. He of course was working with the blacksmith of the other village too so he wasn't alone. There was his apprentice too of course though I hadn't met them.
"Hello goddess Jenna" he said bowing to me.
Taking my hand off Tromly's head I turned around and waved up at him. He too was visibly nervous still having me being this size.
"Hey Elphy! What's up?"
Elphonse stood up and awkwardly looked me in the eye.
"Well goddess I was just wondering what all these strange glass bulbs were. I know you wouldn't do something to endanger us but I can tell there's something off about them. Like they'll activate into something." He bowed again. "I was just curious is all!"
I just chuckled. "They're called Christmas lights and you'll see soon enough! They're part of a celebration called Christmas back where I come from and represent angels."
He looked up at some of them hanging and nodded. "I see. So they'll light up then at night?"
"You got it Mr. guy" I said tapping the side of my nose. "Now if you'll excuse me."

With that I took Tromly by the arm and walked him away towards the tree. He didn't resist and just followed behind stumbling at first.
"So um. How is my sister goddess?" he asked nervously.
"She's fine" I replied. "She's safe inside me don't worry. I'm still working on getting her out."
Once we were at the tree I stopped and turned him around to face me.
"Ok now. I'm going to fly up there and put more of those lights on the tree. I need you to stand here and yell up at me if the tree starts moving around or is going to fall over ok?"
Tromly nodded. "Yes goddess."
After giving my assistant instructions I start materializing the end of the light strand and take off into the air with my jets. As I flew I created more and more light strand, flying around the three and draping it on the branches as I went higher.
There was never any warning from Tromly so I kept going until I reached the very top. Once I was there I dropped the end of the chain and hovered in front of the top of the tree. It was time for the star. With a bit of concentration I pulled a large five pointed glass star out of thin air and placed it on top of the tree. The star was about six feet wide and was kept it place by using several extra tree branches to support under it.
With this task done I flew back down to the ground and landed by Tromly again. I smiled at him and put my hands on my hips proudly.
"What you think?"
He walked out from under the tree and looked up into the air way up there. When he saw the star he gasped and looked back down at me.
"It's huge goddess! Is that gunna light up too?"
I nodded in response.
It was then his mother Elentra appeared and walked over to us. She was one of the people least perturbed by my new size. Maybe it was because she knew me so personally and was a mother of someone around my size.
"Hello goddess" she said bowing to me. "I hope you're doing well."
"Yes Miss Deuiden" I replied.
She smiled. "I hope my children aren't causing you any problems."
This made Tromly more embarrassed and he even hid his face by looking down when his mother put her arm around him.
I put my arms over my stomach and looked up at her towering over me.
"Not at all. I like your family remember?"
Elentra smiled and let go of her son. "I'm happy to hear you haven't forgotten us. My husband is somewhere helping prepare the wood for the fires tonight. I'm sure you'll run into him at some point." She puts her hand on her chest. "He always likes hearing about how Miya's doing."
"Don't worry about your daughter" I replied smiling. "She'll be back with us before you know it!"
Miya chimed in. "Tell them I love them please Jenna. I know they know it but I want to say it anyway. Also tell Tromly I'm happy to see how he's growing."
I nodded. "She says she loves you all and she's happy to see how well your growing Tromly."
Both of them looked very happy to hear from Miya. However both of them noticed someone standing a short distance away from us. I could sense them of course and knew who it was, I just wasn't sure what they were doing.
It was Jackson from the inn. He was seemingly waiting for my conversation with these two to end before wanting to speak to me about something. As usual for the old man he was very patient and polite. He probably wanted something to do with the food that was being prepared.
Noticing them Elentra bowed and took Tromly's hand.
"I can see you're needed by others as well goddess. We'll see you later and thank you for giving us some of your time."
I smiled and waved as they left. "Anytime!"
Once the two of them had walked away I turned around to Jackson. I then walked over to him and stopped with one hand on my hip. He was almost twice my height as well, not that I was the one intimidated though.
"You need me?" I asked.
Jackson nodded and put his hands together in a gesture of prayer. He bowed his head and then looked down at me with a slightly nervous expression.
"I'm sorry to interrupt you with something so trivial goddess."
He waited for my reaction but I remained silent so he continued.
"You see we've run out of pepper for the meats we've been cooking." He looked down in shame. "Normally having such an expensive thing wouldn't be a problem as it wouldn't run out for our village. However this year there are so many more people..." His voice trailed off and he looked to the ground. "I've heard you can create things with magic. Could you see it fit to make more pepper for us?"
This was the sort of thing goddesses were for I suppose. Creating something like pepper would be trivial. Some might claim I'm being taken advantage of for a petty thing and the villagers would be using me. I however see this as one of those little things I can do to make their lives better and give back to them for their loving devotion.
"Sure Jackson" I replied. "I'll follow you over there."
He bowed again and his voice was both relieved and excited.
"Thank you goddess! Right this way."
He then turned around and started walking towards the cookfires. I let him take the lead on this one.
As we went many others waved to me and greeted me so I just waved back at them. It made sense that the goddess walking among them would cause quite the stir. Most of the people here had never actually seen me outside my normal size so seeing me as a human child was likely a shock. Thankfully since the were all familiar with me in general there wasn't any need for them to be any more timid around than me than normal.
It was weird for me too, walking through the village at this size. How people managed to walk around this place so tiny all the time was actually strange to me now, how funny and bizarre. After all it took over a minute just to walk to where the cooking was going on. Of course its not like you could get lost in a village this small. Even if I didn't have someone walking me there all I'd need to do is follow the smoke billowing into the sky.
Once we arrived the smells were even more fragrant than before. It was the mixed scents of roasting meats and baking pies of some kind all assaulting the nose at once. I could see there were several types of roasts on various spits all around the area. Mostly wild game like boar or deer it looked like. There was also some regular beef as well though and a few chickens. There were some outdoor temporary ovens as well that had some kind of bread in them. Also there were the pies of various kinds, both savory and sweet. It wasn't going to be much a feast from royalty standards, but for a pair of villages it was going to be one of the biggest events they've had the entire year.
Everyone who was cooking was too busy to really notice me arriving. Those that did of course waved to me or turned to bow in my direction. I just smiled and nodded, giving them my permission to carry on with their work.
Jackson's wife Illena was standing over by a small grouping of roasting fires with a couple other women. Upon seeing her there he then led me over to where the were standing. When the women noticed me they all bowed to me and offering their greetings.
"Hello everyone" I said as we walked up. "Mr. Juniper said there was a pepper issue?"
Jackson smiled proudly to his wife and stepped aside and out of my way.
"The goddess has graciously agreed to give us more pepper!"
Illena laughed a little and grabbed her husband's arm to squeeze.
"Looks like you're still useful for something then dear. If you can convince a goddess to give us a gift."
As they joked to each other like the loving married couple they were I stepped forward and brought up both my hands. With a simple thought I materialized two rather large sacks of pepper, one in each hand. They were about the size of an orange and made of simple woven fleece. Each of them was full of regular old pepper. I then offered them to Illena.
Everyone gasped in shock as they looked at the two bags in my hands. Illena and Jackson each took one and marveled at the contents. For a moment I didn't get why but then I realized that this was probably a huge amount of pepper for them.
"This is the same amount that we had for the entire celebration!" Illena said aghast. "It took the whole year to buy and collect it!" She looked down at me. "Yet here you made it in an instant and hand it over so freely!"
I just shrugged. "Pays to be a goddess I suppose. Besides its for my worshipers from my first two villages. I can spare a minor miracle for them can't I?"
All of them bowed to me again.
"Thank you so much goddess!" Illena said. "We'll put this to use right away."
"You're welcome" I replied with a bit of a smirk. "I'll let you get back to it then."
I turned to Jackson. "I'm going to go look at all the foods we'll be having and maybe finish up some preparations of my own. I trust you have things handled here?"
He nodded and gave his confirmation so I left the group to go on with their business. I did want to check out some of the foods they were making. There was also an extra secret project I needed to complete before Quarely arrived. After he got here I'd be busy dealing with social interactions and whatnot so I'd be unable to create and place the colorful show I had planned.
