“Zaza, is His Majesty still not out of close door training?” asked Gege.
“Yes, why do you ask?” Zaza responded.
“I've heard from the humans that the Recruitments Event is about to begin so I wanted to pass on this information to His Majesty.”
“Don't worry, I'll pass on your message to His Majesty once his seclusion has come to an end.”
“You've been saying that for the past three years, at least come up with something new!” said Gege angrily.
If it was before, Gege wouldn't dare speak to Zaza like this but now that they were both of the same status he spoke freely. Zaza didn't lash out at Gege but remained calm. It was as if showing emotions, especially anger, was beneath him.
“If there's nothing else then you may lea…” suddenly the door behind Zaza showed signs of opening. Then it fully opened and Nolan came out with a smile on his face.
“Mhmm. How I missed the taste of fresh air. The feeling of sunlight making contact with my skin. I think I won't enter seclusion for a while, oh Gege, you're also here, I didn't see you there.” said Nolan.
“Greetings to His Majesty, congratulations on your fruitful closed door training!”
“Greetings to His Majesty, congratulations on your fruitful closed door training!”
Both Gege and Zaza knelt down and greeted Nolan with utmost respect, more respectful than three years ago. They weren't so respectful because they suddenly had a change of heart. No! They were respectful because of what they were currently feeling, they were respectful because of what their instincts and senses were telling.
‘Absolutely do not antagonise this monster!!!’ is what their feelings, senses and instincts were telling them.
If previously, Nolan was just a murderous tiger, now, he was a murderous tiger with wings and no one was safe. The power he was currently releasing was unlike anything they'd ever felt before, it was heavy, overwhelming and oppressive. And it wasn't just these two that felt Nolan's terrifying strength, everyone living in the Goblin Village felt it and they all knelt down and greeted.
[KRRRRRRRR]
[KRRRRRRRR]
[KRRRRRRRR]
Since many goblins weren't capable of human speech, they just spoke in their native languages. Seeing this scene, Nolan's smile became even brighter as he quite loved this feeling of being revered as a god.
…
“Speak.”
After the commotion he caused, Nolan decided to return to his chambers and have Zaza rebrief him on the current situation. The person he was speaking to now was Gege who'd initially come here to report something important to Nolan.
You could be reading stolen content. Head to Royal Road for the genuine story.
“My Lord, what I came here to report today is about the upcoming Recruitments Event that's about to take place. It usually occurs every ten years and…” Gege began to explain what exactly the Recruitments Event was and how significant of an opportunity this was for the masses.
Basically, the Recruitments Event is an event that takes place once every ten years. It was created a long time ago by the big organisations that rule Earth. Once every ten years, these organisations will host a joint event where everyone below a certain age or someone of certain qualities will be recruited by an interested organisation. This organisation will then use its resources to nurture the chosen participant in exchange for joining their organisation.
After the chosen participant has grown to a certain level, they then help their organisation to obtain more territory, fame, status or power, anything that can help the organisation grow stronger. Sort of like an investment.
These organisations could either be Sects, Guilds, Clans, Families and other hidden organisations. Some were in the open while others operated in the dark.
“Mhmm.” Nolan nodded.
“Reporting to My Lord, nothing major has happened in the course of three years that you were in seclusion. There were a few problems that needed…” Zaza also gave his report to Nolan but it wasn't as important as Gege's.
“Where are the twins? Tell them to meet me at the village gates. We're going to visit our neighbours.”
…
Two extremely tall teenage boys stood in front of Nolan, they had the exact same appearance and if not for their physical conditions, it would be extremely difficult to set them apart. One of the teen boys, who was wearing a beast skin that only covered his private parts stood calmly in the open. His height at three and a half meters which was astounding for a pureblooded human
He had perfectly developed muscles that made him look like a golden age bodybuilder champion. Next to this viking of a boy was his brother who wasn't as tall as him, he also wasn't bulky but rather had a lean body. This boy's hair was dirty and filled with sand, his feet dug deep into the sand on the ground. These two boys were obviously Hedge and Edge, the bulky one being Hedge and the dirty haired being Edge.
These two had improved by leaps and the course of three years that they'd been living here. Before entering his own seclusion, Nolan had designed a custom made Meditation Art for Edge and a Training Art for Hedge who couldn't use Mana in the atmosphere.
The reason why he could do this wasn't just because he was a genius but also that the amount of knowledge he had of the human anatomy was as vast and expansive as experienced surgeons. This was also why the goblins were tasked with guarding the village, Nolan hadn't made Meditation Arts for them because his knowledge of the goblin anatomy is still insignificant.
Whoosh!
Bang!
Nolan out of nowhere struck Hedge with a powerful punch, since it was so sudden and unexpected, Hedge barely managed to raise his hand and block the punch. The palm and punch collided and released an explosion like sound, the force of the collision created a dust cloud.
Using the dust as camouflage, Nolan moved at incredible speed and attacked Edge who was standing beside Hedge. Edge though didn't even move a muscle, the ground rose to create an earth wall that blocked Nolan's punch. Nolan though didn't give up, he increased his speed to create afterimages and attacked Edge from all directions but every single attack of his was blocked by Edge’s earth wall. It was like he was the favourite son of earth and it wouldn't allow even a single attack to pass through it.
“Hihihi, hahaha! Nolan, you've really done it this time! Hahaha, this is gonna be fun! This is definitely gonna be fun, hahaha!” laughed Nolan like a madman who had just been given toys to play with.
He then looked at Zaza, Riri, Gege and the others with great anticipation for the future. He was wondering what kind of monsters these goblins would become once they had obtained custom made Meditation Arts.
‘I'll have to look out for all sorts of Meditation Arts on this trip but mostly importantly… I must get me some delicious food, jijiji!’
