Chapter 18: Sibling Argument.

Chapter 18: Sibling Argument.

Upon realizing that he was played, Carter was furious. With great speed, clearly breaking countless traffic laws, he made it to Risa’s estate. But there was a problem…

Carter: “Hey, let me in!” He exclaimed at the maid guarding the driveway gate.

Maid: “Mr. Carter. You no longer have access to this estate. Please leave, or I will be forced to call the police.” She replied with an unbothered tone.

Carter: “…” “Dammit… With Grace no longer having any shares, her orders mean nothing now. And Risa has no reason to let me into her estate…” He thought with an annoyed tone. With nothing left to do, he soon left that area, and then he drove somewhere else.

Specifically, he went to France’s estate. Which was two hours away from Risa’s estate. But yet another problem occurred, where France refused to let him in as well. “Did Risa pay him off too?” He thought with an unsure tone. In a horrible mood, Carter finally drove to his estate.

Slam!

Slamming the door of his overly expensive car, Carter then walked into his estate, also slamming the front door behind himself. Then he sat down and calmed his mind. He needed to call his sister, and being in a bad mood won’t be productive in the least. This is one of the times where Carter actually acted in a smart way. If only he did that just 20% of the time, and things would work out better for him.

In truth, Carter was a fool. The only reason why he was able to win in the novel… was purely because the author wanted a sad outcome for the story. Due to Monia’s arrival, and her seemingly quick acceptance of Risa, Carter’s carefully laid out plans were destined to be foiled by his sister, who is, unlike the man himself, actually intelligent.

Risa: “Carter? Why might you be calling me? You do realize that it is only 2:25 PM, right?” She asked after picking up the call.

Carter: “What does the time matter, Sister?” He scoffed in reply.

Risa: “As the CFO, shouldn’t you still be at work right now? And not to mention… but you’ve called me while I am in a meeting. Luckily, it wasn’t an important one.” She asked her question, which had a hint of knowing in how she spoke.

Carter: “…”

Risa, not wanting to leave the cockroach that is her brother loose, had put tracking services on his car and smartphone. This was done a while back, so she knows how much that Carter just slacks off. In fact, she has a tally that Risa keeps up to date about how many hours of work that he has stolen. Of course, with the full intention of making him pay it all in full.

Carter: “That is besides the point, Risa. What did you do to our parents!?” He asked in anger.

Risa: “Huh? I don’t understand what you’re asking.” She replied with feigned confusion.

Carter: “You own all the shares! You sick bitch… Are our parents even alive? I bet you tortured them to death!!!” He exclaimed with a very upset tone, almost smashing his phone in the process. “Risa isn’t the type to do something like that, which is why I am certain that she won’t have me killed. But… I have to accuse her of this!” He thought with an erratic tone.

Risa: “Our parents are alive and well, Carter. Though, Eric has decided to move to China, so you probably won’t ever see him again. It’s not like you do any overseas work, after all.” She replied with a yawn. “I am curious on what he will do about this, but I am more of just annoyed. Could you give up already? I want to seduce my wife…” She expressed in her mind with an impatient tone.

Carter: “That is just your words… I will have your crimes reported to everyone that can report them!” He replied with an excitedly evil tone.

Risa: “Oh, really? Well, have fun with that, dear Brother.” She said with a giggle before hanging up the phone.

Carter: “…”

Finally, hearing the cut call tone repeating over and over again, Carter smashed his phone into pieces. It was a limited edition variant, with only fifty of them ever made. The man's stupidly knows no bounds, as, if he lost it all, that smartphone alone could have easily sold for well over $200,000. And that is just if he wants it sold within minutes…
