Chapter 17: The Frustration of Carter.
The man wasn’t intent on giving up so soon. Taking Monia as his woman would be a major blow to his sister. On top of their mother dying, Carter was certain that Risa would eventually break down and lose her place in the company.
France: “How did she react?” He asked.
Carter: “Hm… not that bad, in my opinion. Unfortunately, those rude twin maids got in the way.” He answered with a scoff.
France: “So… you’re going to keep trying?” He replied.
Carter: “Of course. I am not one to give up, and seducing Monia is just a stepping block to me gaining wealth and power.” He replied with his arms crossed. “Not to mention, but when our mother dies, Risa will be absolutely devastated.” He thought with an evil tone.
Eric, now in Risa’s full control, could not inform Carter that their plan wasn’t just revealed, but was also completely spoiled and ruined. As such, the foolish man was certain that his mother would soon meet her end. And in truth, he awaits that day with impatience. After all, once Grace is dead, he will have a major stake in the company.
France: “With Grace out of the picture, Monia might be your only hope.” He said with a sigh.

Carter: “What do you mean?” He asked with a raised eyebrow.
France: “Haven’t you seen the news?” He replied. “Ah, a silly question… This man only cares about money and sex. Why would he bother with the news?…” He scoffed in his mind.
Carter: “What news?” He asked in reply.
France: “Risa is now the majority stakeholder of your family, Carter. Grace and Eric gave Risa their shares, so now she controls 99% of them. With the last share in your holding, it won’t be long until she comes to claim it.” He explained.
Carter: “…”
“Fuck…” He swore in his thoughts. Picking up his phone, the man did something that he hadn’t done in a long while… check the news. And on his smartphone, he read the news about his sister gaining all those shares. Most of Carter’s life was spent in leisure.
Even with his job, none of that changed. In his mind, everyone is just a tool to him. Of course, knowing this, it isn’t that amazing to know that he is a fraud. Nothing he did for the company that he works for was on his merit. Instead, he just paid off people where needed, and dished out secret orders to his lackey’s.
To instill a sense of calm in him, Risa didn’t get rid of those lackeys of his yet. Instead, she and Clare planned to carry on with Carter not realizing how screwed he was. Carter wasn’t one who hid away his carelessness, which is why they had a decent chance at him not knowing anything about the shares until it was too late. Storming off, he soon made it to his car, ignoring his dear friend.
France: “…” “That man will fail. I guess that this is the end of our friendship.” He thought with a happy tone. Like with most people, France was only with Carter for benefits. Now that he was certain of his failure, there wasn’t a reason to be friends with such a horrible person. Truly, his wealth was all that Carter had going for him…
