“Enough!”
A gruff, mature voice cut through the sounds of swirling dust plumes and colliding debris.
The bellow came from the dragon.
With that, it stopped hovering and landed gracefully on the ground, allowing the swirling eddies of dust and debris to slow down and eventually arrive at a slow swirl in the air.
One of Noah's bodies revealed itself, peeking over a piece of debris with a look of surprise on his face.
“What, you could talk, big fella?”
Dragon breath.
The body, though caught off-guard, did not make the same mistake as the body that was previously annihilated by the collateral damage of dragon breath, and made a barrier of blood around itself to keep itself safe.
As the body escaped and hid itself once more after the chaos of the sudden dragon breath settled down, silence once again enveloped the brightly lit dome, only occasionally interrupted by the sound of debris occasionally colliding in their elliptical trajectories.
“Reveal yourself! Now!”
Silence. This time, Noah did not respond. The dragon understood the silent demand Noah was making.
“So be it! I will not attack you in that manner once again, this I swear on my honor as a dragon! Reveal yourself!”
Out of a floating rock mass roughly the size of a boulder, a body of Noah peeked out once again.
“You parents must’ve never taught you manners. Acting like this at your big age. Embarrassing, honestly.”
“You dare insult my lineage, inferior!”
The roar of the dragon made every floating piece of debris visible vibrate.
“Holy shit. Since you're discriminating by race, you're technically racist, right? Never thought the day would come that I'd meet a literal racist in another world.”
A low grumble of dissatisfaction escaped the dragon’s closed jaws, before it opened again as the dragon spoke.
If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
“I know not of what you speak. It is irrelevant. Human. Fight me. Let us engage in valiant and proud combat.”
“Huh? No way, bro. You've just thrown me in like this weird dome where there's shit floating like I'm in space, and I've been separated from my friend who I meticulously planned to fight with. I've even had to use one of the two emergency communication talismans I had prepared for me.”
As he said that, the body of Noah that had revealed itself standing on the top of a rock and reached out in front of it to pull out two thin strips of paper roughly double the length of an index finger out of thin air. One of the pieces of paper was charred black, while the other was pristine.
After he had waved it about, he released the two talismans, which promptly disappeared back into thin air in front of him.
“So, with my severe lack of information, why would I engage in a disadvantageous fight?”
Another low grumble emanated from the furious dragon. The rumble was so low that it felt like it was of a frequency matching the natural frequency of his bodies, making him briefly shudder in discomfort. The dragon with its head lowered back to the ground grumbled for an abnormally long period of time, as if it was in thought, then it spoke up again.
“I take this to mean that with information, you will engage in noble combat rather than this pathetic showing of orc and goblin?”
‘Orc and goblin? Oh, did the translation enchantment she place on me translate cat and mouse to orc and goblin? Cats and mice exist here too, but was translated anyway? Weird ass world.’
“Answer me, inferior. My patience wears thin.”
“My bad, bro. Uh, to answer your question, it depends.”
“Elaborate.”
“No.”
Dragon breath.
Another desperate escape later,
“What the fuck! Bitch!”
“How dare you compare me to a female dog, how dare you refuse me! I am a noble male adult dragon, and you will do what I say, inferior! I even had the magnanimity to offer you a deal!”
Another roar that shook the space was released.
As he once again began to flit about the debris that had been stirred into rampant eddies from the dragon breath, Noah voiced his frustration.
“Look man, I can dodge all day! If we keep this up, you'll run out of mana first! I'll win! So keep pissing about, why don't you!”
The dragon released another grumble at Noah’s impudent response.
“The influence you exert on fate tells me of your strength. But what a tragedy that you fight like the weak. Fine then. Inferior, enough darting about. Let us talk.”
One of Noah’s bodies stopped, and after a moment of suspicion, it jumped down in front of the dragon. The small frame of the Half-Loki body then looked up at the dragon.
“First, what guarantee do I have that you will not lie?”
“Hmph. Inferior, the great dragons do not lie. But if you wish for assurance, I swear this on my pride. Surely you understand what this means, inferior?”
“You really like the inferior stuff, don't you? Whatever. Biggest thing I need to know is this barrier. What's up with it? And this space inside it, too.”
“Listen well, inferior. I will not repeat it twice. This is a demiplane. A demiplane is a possession of all gods, and the great Demon Lord Khaazgrim has shared it with the nobility among demons. Naturally, as a member of the strongest species of this world, I was inducted within the ranks of demon nobilityas a baron and was graced with this power.”
