Chapter 13: Affinity Examination and Academy.

-----Sol's PoV-----

It has been 3 years since I awakened my Star Asura Draconian Bloodline, I have mastered all of my Racial Skills, and I have trained my body and weapon skills to the utmost my body can handle ever since I hit 6 years of age. So I used most of my time with my family, especially with Sophia and Aaliyah.

Sophia and Aaliyah is quite attached to me, it's understandable if it was Aaliyah since she is still quite young, but Sophia always acts childish around me, she usually acts mature around others, but around me and our family, she acts quite childish, but it's understandable since Sophia is still quite young, but I sometimes worry about how intimate she gets around me, but I will omit this information, since I'm not willing to disclose my sister's personal information to the readers.

But a years after my awakening, Sophia needed to go to an academy to learn magic, I trust her skills in magic since she trained diligently everyday, but I missed her ever since, Sophia and mother cried when it was time to depart, while dad held back his tears, as for me... I can't seem to cry, but I still miss her considerably. Me and Sophia hugged for a long time before she departed, I tried to smile as best as I could when she departed, but I think it just turned into a sour smile.

I spent the rest of the year continuing my training regimee, and since Sophia isn't in the mansion anymore, I naturally spend more time with Aaliyah and Elena when we visit each other, Aaliyah is able to walk and speak after a year, she usually plays with Elena when I'm busy, but when mother suddenly asked.

"Aaliyah, out of Sol, Sophia and Elena, who's your favorite person?"

"I love brother the most!"

She said with a wide innocent smile that showed the dimples on her cheeks.

I was quite touched, so I decided to spent the rest of the day with her, I guess this is the charm of innocent children.

I decided, I must protect Aaliyah from pedophiles, especially the author.

We spent the last year as usual. But Sophia sometimes visits us during the school's holidays. On the other hand Joseph can't visit us frequently because knight military academy is harsher and stricter than the rest of the academies.

At last, it's now the day of my elemental affinity examination.

Today I'm wearing a silver robe with a crimson hue, this robe was specially made for today's examination, just like Sophia's dress at that time.

Going to the drawing room, I saw Elena, aunt Liza sitting across mother, Sophia, and Aaliyah.

Elena seems to be the same age as me, so she will be taking the examination with me.

And it looks like Sophia managed to get a permit to leave so she can visit us today.

"Sol~ I miss you so much!!"

Sophia suddenly exclaimed while dashing to me when I entered the room.

I was surprised, but in the next moment, I regained my composure and hugged Sophia into my embrace.

'If an outsider saw this scene, I bet they will think we're either a lover or I am an elder brother hugging her sister.'

I thought to myself while making a wry smile.

I then shook my head and tilted my head down and met eyes with Sophia who is currently making a shy smile.

Because of my rapid height growth, I'm now taller than Sophia, this is another reason why I look like an elder brother compared to her.

Sighing to myself, I then lifted my head up and said to everyone.

"So, should we get going now?"

Everyone just gave a smile and nodded before walking out of the room and into the carriage in front of the mansion.

This time, we were seperated into 2 carriages, with me, Sophia, Aaliyah, and Elena in the first carriage, while Mother and Aunt Liza in the other carriage.

After we entered the carriage, it then starts to move and proceed to Flumine City.

On the way there, I thought to myself while looking out the carriage's window.

'I guess I should have one last look of my status before the examination.'

I really wonder how does my stats receive this rapid growth, but I suddenly receieved a tug on my sleeve, so I decided to keep this information in the back of my mind.

I then turned my head to look at my sleeve, and I saw Aaliyah and Sophia looking at me with upturned eyes. They didn't say anything for a while, so I decided to take initiative and ask.

"...what?..."

"Give us a hug!!!"

Sophia suddenly shouted and they both suddenly pounced at me like a leopard, because we are not to far apart, I didn't have time to react and was pushed down, I flailed around and shouted.

"What's the meaning of this, stop, let me go!!!"

Sophia and Aaliyah suddenly held me down, and surprisingly, Elena suddenly joined the fray. I could get up if I use enough strength, but since we are inside a carriage, I'm afraid of hurting them, especially if I used to much strength.

"Wait, where did you get that feather..."

I said after I saw Sophia, Elena and Aaliyah pulled out a feather out of god-knows-where.

"Hehe, you don't want to know, now hold him down tightly girls, it's time to see some reaction out of my dear little brother here."

"Hehe, you can count on it, I have never seen brother laugh, so this would be a good opportunity."

"Don't think badly of us Sol, you just can't stop a group of curious ladies."

They said with a mischievous glint in their eyes. My face turned a bit pale in fright, I always knew those three were quite a curious bunch, but this will not be good for me.

But even if they're girls, I still can't let them do as they like to me, this would hurt my pride as a man.

So with eyes filled determination, I lifted both of my legs up and locked them on Sophia's waist.

The three of them then starts faltering for a moment because of my sudden action, but a moment is enough for me to take back both of my hands from Elena and Aaliyah.

I then pounced back at them and now the three of them are right under me.

Luckily, the carriage is quite spacious, so there was no need to worry about them getting hit on the head by the carriage's walls.

Then with a mischievous grin, I took the three feathers that they held and said.

"Now, it's time to give the three of you some punishment, now... let's start with the foot."

The faces of the girls turns pale in fright, they tried to fight back and shake me off, but because of my overwhelming strength, their efforts were all for naught.

On the whole way to Flumine City, a sound of 3 different girl's laughter and screams with occasional evil laughter could be heard from Sol's carriage.

After the amount of time it takes to drink a cup of tea has passed, I finally let go of the three of them.

Currently, Sophia, Aaliyah, and Elena is sweating and gasping for air while making an occasional laughs with red faces.

On the other hand, I'm currently smirking evilly while staring at the three of them.

I then turned my head and looked out of the window while sighing before making a smile filled a mix of glee and melancholy.

'So is this what it feels like to live a normal life?'

After a few minutes passed, the city finally came into view, at the same time, the girls have finally recovered, but whenever they saw the feathers that I'm currently holding, they would shiver slightly and look away. I just let out a chuckle when I saw their reaction.

The carriages then entered the city, and our carriage parked near a place near the examination area before we went out of the carriage.

After mother and Aunt Liza went out of their carriage, we proceeded to the registration table.

Reaching the table, this time the receptionist is a man with a pair of glasses and sharp black eyes.

After getting me and Elena registered, we proceeded to enter the examination tent. On the way, I looked down to the number plate I'm currently holding a wooden plate with 'Number 81' written on it. Wondering which element I would have affinity with, I subconsciously tightened my grip on the wooden plate, luckily, the plates are enchanted, so it's rather durable, but I surprisingly managed to make the plate make a squeeking sound, I smiled wryly and made a reminder to myself to control my strength better.

Since I already saw how the examination is done, I didn't bother to look at other people's results since it doesn't involve me, so I spent time talking with the others.

But a certain examinee caught my attention.

"Number 75, Walter Ritz."

Looking closer, he has fiery red hair with brown eyes, his body has a basic build, this proves he has minimal body training, but his attire, that seems to be a robe, looks quite needlessly expensive with all the golden silk used to sew it.

He proceeded to walk to the stage with an arrogant demeanor, walking with long strides and chin raised high up, he gazed at other people as if he is an emperor that is currently looking at a dirt on the ground. This caused me to lower my evaluation of him.

"Walter Ritz, the youngest son of duke Yoltar Ritz, his land should be at another city, but he is visiting us today for some reason, and... he is Elena's cousin."

Aunt Liza suddenly said. This information startled me and I subconsciouly took a quick glance at Elena.

Currently, Elena has a sour look on her face with knitted brows while looking at Walter. She then suddenly took a glance at me before giving a start and looked away.

I then looked back to the stage after letting a sigh.

'Their relationship seems to be quite bad, especially with their polar opposite personality, but I guess I shouldn't bother her about this until she want to talk about it.'

With that tought, I focused my attention back to the stage.

Currently, Walter is standing on the stage and about to touch the crystal ball.

Suddenly, when Walter touched the crystal ball, it let out a blinding yellow and red light.

In reaction, the audience squinted their eyes and let out astonished gasps, but because of my eyes from the naturally strong elf and draconian race, I can still see clearly.

I then enhanced my eyes with mana to use my elf racial skill,《Spirit Eyes》, Currently, there is a bunch of earth and fire elemental orbs inside the crystal ball. It seems because of the elements that is sqeezed in together, it caused qualitive change on the elemental orbs and made them to materialize for a moment and let out a bright light.

When the light subsided, I unenhanced my eyes and the others starts to open their eyes.

Walter that is on the stage, currently has an arrogantly haughty expression on his face.

"Earth and Fire Element, High Affinity."

Unlike 3 years ago, the examiner calmly stated with a flat tone, but the old mens on the back of the stage is currently whispering to each other.

Walter then went down the stage with an even bigger arrogance.

After that, the examination continued, until it's finally about to be Elena's turn, she seems to be quite nervous. Her legs are shivering, and her sky blue eyes kept looking left and right.

I then walked up to her and gave her shoulder a tap, Elena then reacted with a jolt and turned her head to look at me.

"Don't worry, you'll be fine, even if your affinity is bad, I'll still train you in the art of bows."

I encouraged with a faint smile. Elena then reacted with a nod before giving a faint smile that looks like a blooming flower.

"Number 80, Elena Fricies."

Elena then walked to the stage while many people, especially males, gazed at Elena. Most of them seems to be some vulgar gazes.

It is quite natural, after reaching the age of 8, Elena have grown beautifully, her silky silver hair have reached her back and a pair of round sky blue eyes that looks like a gem.

Her dress also paired with her looks and made her look more beautiful, silver white gloves that accompanies her silver dress with sky blue hues to the bottom of the dress made her seem as if she came out of a painting.

Looking closer, I can see a hint of red and nervousness on her face. I sighed to myself and decided to help her.

Silently activating a small part of《Dragonification》, I start radiating a small amount of killing intent to people that is currently looking vulgarly at Elena. Because of my originally strong killing intent is amplified by the skill, even a small of part of my current killing intent could make people hard to breath.

The people I radiated my killing intent at starts to turn rigid and their faces turns paler by a few shades. people that was vulgarly looking at Elena then starts to look away, so I retracted my killing intent from them with a smirk. They won't be able to trace back the killing intent back to me since I made my killing intent trace back to another place as a bait, so if those people aren't masters, they won't be able to find me. But even if they are, it won't be easy to track the intent back to me.

I then returned my attention back at Elena, her nervousness has disappeared together with the hint of red on her face. I let out a sigh of relief before making a faint smile and refocusing my self at Elena's examination.

Elena then walked up to the stage and proceeded to touch the crystal ball.

After Elena's hand touched the ball, the crystal ball, it released a brilliant blue, green, and a warm light that seems to be filled with life and vitality.

But surprisingly, I can feel a certain different type of energy, it feels pure, extremely pure and unblemished type of feeling.

Looking at it with my《Spirit Eyes》, surprisingly, I can see water, wind, and life elemental orbs inside the ball, I was surprised, but only for a moment before I made a faint smile.

Sadly, I can't find what emitted the pure and unblemished feeling, but I decided to leave it in the back of my mind

After the light died out, the examiner and old mens on the stage starts to recompose themself before the examine said.

"Water, Wind, and... Life Element, all High Affinity."

The examination area went deadly silent for a moment before the area was filled with people clamoring with excitement.

"A Great Attribute user!!"

"A triple elemental with the Life Attribute?!"

"Every academy would be fighting over her, who is she?!"

Suddenly, a voice boomed out.

"Everybody, SILENCE."

The examiner suddenly shouted. Because of the amplified sound, his voice caught the attention of everyone and the spectators stopped talking.

The examiner then nodded and motioned Elena to get down the stage.

Elena then recovered from her dazed state with a start and walked down the stage stiffly, accompanied by many stares from others.

I sighed to myself and decided to help Elena once more.

Once again activating《Dragonification》, I spread my killing intent around the spectators. People have different kinds of killing intent, but mine makes people feel as if they were stabbed with countless swords and blades.

But suddenly, I could feel somone tracing back my killing intent, I clicked my tounge in reaction and hurriedly retracted my killing intent.

'An expert is hiding here.'

I thought to myself. Luckily, I managed to retract my intent in time, but I won't be able to find the person who traced my intent now, so I decided to let it be.

-----Third Person PoV-----

'Hmm, who's killing intent was it. It's quite powerful, and that person have such mastery over it, hehe, interesting.'

A man thought to himself while walking around among the spectators.

If Sol was here, he would've noticed that this person was the beggar looking man that sold him the stone.

"Head Master Zephyrus, can you please return to your seat."

A man in a suit respectfully said to the beggar looking man from behind.

"Haha, Hans, I just found an interesting person among the crowds, that person seems to be an expert, this should be quite interesting."

He said while returning back to the seat among the old mens.

-----Sol's PoV-----

After Elena returned, we all congratulated her.

"Haha, my little Elena has three affinity and an affinity with one of the great attribute. I'm so proud of you."

Aunt Liza said while tightly hugging Elena. Me, mother, Sophia, and Aaliyah just watched from the side with a warm smile.

After Aunt Liza let go of Elena, We congratulated her one by one, when it was my turn to congratulate her, I subconsciously ruffled Elena's hair. When I realized what I have been doing, I can feel my blood rising up to my face. I then retracted my hand and glanced at Elena.

She is currently blushing with a deep shade of red on her face. Flustered, I looked away and said quitely in a whisper volume.

"Uh... congrats..."

"Un..."

Elena replied with a nod. The atmosphere then turned weird, until suddenly.

"Number 81, Sol' Lux Dractum."

The examiner's voice then returned us to reality.

I then sighed to myself and gave Elena an apologetic look before walking to the stage. Many people threw glances at me, I could feel their stares, but I'm not really bothered by it, so I walked up to the stage with no accidents.

On the stage, I then proceeded to touch the crystal ball.

When I touched it, golden, black, and red blinding colored light starts to emit from the crystal ball. 

But surprisingly, I can feel a light emitting a feeling that disturbed my sense of time and place while another light with a sense of nothingness.

Suddenly, I felt another light emanating from the orb, the light is filled with bloodlust, pure bloodlust. But the light feels comfortable for some reason.

The light then starts to subside, so I looked around me. The examination ground is currently deadly silent, that even if you dropped a pin on the ground, everyone here would be able to hear it, and currently everyone has their jaw dropped until you can fit an egg into it.

The first to regain his composure is once again, the examiner. He then stated in a domineering voice.

"Fire, Darkness, Lightning, Space-Time, and Void Element, all... High Affinity."

After the examiner said that, the whole examination ground is once again filled with clamores of sound.

But I just ignored them and calmly walked down the stage.

Returning to the others, I saw everyone smiling warmly at me, on the other hand, I smiled wryly at the unneeded attention from the spectators.

Everyone then congratulated me before we proceeded to leave the examination ground together.

We then went back to the carriage to discuss what we should do next. But mother suddenly said.

"Sol, since you already went through your examination, it's a good idea to think of which academy you want to join."

I raised an eyebrow at mother's suggestion. Commonly, people will go to an academy at the minimum age of 9.

In the 5 continents, there only exists 5 schools, and all of them are located in the human continent for some reason.

There are:

Academy of Guldur, The Magic Academy,

Academy of Maethor, The Knight Academy,

Academy of Finweg The Craftsmen Academy,

Aurum Academy, The Nobles Academy, and

Nimbus Academy, Known as The Strongest Academy that teaches everything.

Joseph joined Maethor, The Knight Academy. On the other hand, Sophia joined Nimbus Academy.

After a moment, I made my decision and said.

"I'll join Nimbus Academy with Sophia."

Mother just nodded and said with a faint smile.

"Then next year, we will go to Nimbus Academy, you should spend the rest of the year with Aaliyah, she will be quite lonely after you leave."

Mother then ruffled Aaliyah hair lovingly.

Aaliyah suddenly went to me and asked.

"Brother, are you leaving?"

She asked with eyes brimming with tears. My heart suddenly felt heavy, so I said with a wry smile.

"Yes, I will, but not today, so until that time comes, I'll play with Aaliyah."

Aaliyah's face then turns sour for a moment before returning to her cheerful smile.

"Then brother will be mine only until he leaves."

She then suddenly leaped and latched on to my waist. 

I then ruffled her hair with a pained smile for a while before looking out to the window blankly.

After what seems to be about an hour, we finally arrived back at the mansion.

But when I entered the mansion, a maid suddenly walked to me and said

"Young master Sol, the master is looking for you."

I nodded to her and motioned her to lead the way.

'It seems father will finally teach me how to cultivate.'

I thought to myself while making a grin.
